Discover how God loves you into wholeness. The reality of accepting our brokenness (admitting that we are flawed in some way) and allowing Christ to restore us can be difficult to do, especially when we get in the way! But the great news is, you can take your brokenness (all of your sins, shortcomings, whatever) and be complete as you allow Jesus to make you whole and blameless. So the question is, how do you do that? What does that look like? You'll get the answers to these questions and more as Men Unplugged host, Jeff Jerina chats with Sammy Rhodes about his book, Broken and Beloved. Very little of this series is original to me. Much of it is borrowed from other preachers. If I quoted everything I stole from other preachers and thinkers, then this semester would be one long footnote. So here is my footnote for the series: Les Newsom, Britton Wood, Brian Sorgenfrei, Justin Clement, Matt Howell, John Stone, Tim Keller, Jay Denton, Sammy Rhodes, John Cox. This is all from them.

We see in the book of Hosea that God does not punish us nor does he abandon us, but in Christ he marries us. DISCLAIMER: Very little of this series is original to me. Our relationships are risky to us because as humans we are vulnerable. And when sin gets ahold of our vulnerability, it creates shame. In our shame we feel naked, rejection, and defilement. In Genesis 3 we see how God deals with our shame. He pursues us, provides for us, and clothes us. DISCLAIMER: Very little of this series is original to me. The Other 99 - Equipping The Church for Community, Discipleship, and Mission
We originally planned to launch a three-part series on the key terms from our tagline – Community, Discipleship, and Mission. After recording our conversation on community, we decided to split it up into two episodes. This episode will be followed by the continuation of that conversation which will be released in two weeks on November 18. In this episode, we discuss the ins and outs of community and why it is vital for our church to reclaim. We discuss: Community in the beginning (Genesis 1 and 2); Community is not something we do well; All the cultural reasons why we don't do community well; Our experiences with lackluster community; What should Biblical community look like? Acts 2:42-47, Hebrews 10:23-25 and some thoughts from John Wesley; Community takes initiative and intentionality; Guy's fear that we're going to turn into the guys from Wall-E; Finding God in nature vs. the real need for community; Carey Nieuwhof article "To Those Done With Church" http://careynieuwhof.com/2015/06/a-response-to-christians-who-are-done-with-church/ Again, tune in again in 2 weeks for the continuation of our conversation on community. Since 1987, the number of people diagnosed with mental illness has tripled. Each year Americans spend over $10 billion on antidepressants alone. The church can no longer afford to stay silent on issues of mental health. This week we continue our two week series exploring together depression and anxiety. Special thanks to Sammy Rhodes, Joan Evanson, John Mark Comer and David Murray for their contributions to this series, along with all of the other sources cited audibly in each message. According to the IMS Health Report, over 253 million prescriptions for anti-depressants were written in the U.S. in 2010.
