Hell there, Star Wars fans! Welcome to episode 234.We kick off with the future of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, sparked by Ewan McGregor's recent remarks about potential storylines for a second season. The hosts reflect on the original series' reception, noting that while many fans appreciated McGregor's return, others felt the series fell short of expectations. This dichotomy sets the stage for an exploration of how future content can better resonate with the audience while remaining faithful to the established lore. We also touch on the intricacies of storytelling, emphasising that any new series should not simply rehash past narratives but should instead build upon them, enriching the characters' journeys and deepening the emotional stakes.Other news throughout the galaxy:We pay tribute to the late Robert Watts, acknowledging his contributions to the original trilogy and the importance of recognising his behind-the-scenes talent that shaped the Star Wars legacy. An upcoming documentary on John Williams has us excited, discussing how his musical genius has elevated the storytelling of Star Wars and other iconic films.A couple of amazing props are going up for auction next week in London including a screen-matched Sandtrooper helmet from the icon "Move along" scene as well as Yoda's cane. Oof, if only we had a recent lottery win!Fans have got their knickers in a twist as actor Will Poulter would throw his hat in for the live casting of Cal Kestis. Yep, fandom, lol.Lastly, we tackle the tantalising idea of adapting the Clone Wars into a live-action format, a prospect that excites some fans while raising concerns for others. Could an adaptation live up to the beloved animated series while focusing on the darker, more brutal aspects of war that defined the Clone Wars? There's the potential for exploring character relationships, particularly the dynamics between Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Padmé, as well as the emotional fallout from the choices they make. The news stories from around the galaxy that we discussed on this episode...Iconic ‘Star Wars' Helmet Could Be The Memorabilia You're Looking For"It would be so disrespectful not to cast him": Will Poulter Was Never the Best Choice to Play Cal Kestis as Fans Demand Cameron Monaghan to Make His Live Action Star Wars DebutEwan McGregor Says Disney & Lucasfilm Are "Exploring" Ideas For 'Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi' Season 2Music by John Williams | Official Trailer | Disney+ - Jedi NewsLucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy Pays Tribute to Robert Watts - Jedi NewsAbout Spark of Rebellion:This is Spark of Rebellion, the weekly Star Wars podcast for casual fans and veterans alike. We are your hosts, Garry and Mark and every single Saturday we release a brand new episode bringing you the latest news, reviews & discussion on all things Star Wars. A Luke Jedi proof sheet, a Boba Fett three-pack sample, Gamorrean Guard and General Grievous hardcopies, a clear-limbed Sandtrooper first shot, and the incredible hand-drawn pitch piece illustrating the iconic vintage-style cardback design we know and love today. These are some of the almost 600 (!!!) Vintage Collection preproduction pieces owned by prototype collector Anthony Pagano. Anthony has amassed one of the largest TVC prototype collections in the world, with items covering the previous decade and featuring everything from conceptual pieces and painted hardcopies to unproduced pieces and carded samples. Join me, host David Quinn, for an in-depth conversation with Anthony, as he shares what it was like to collect the figures and prototypes from The Vintage Collection, how he was able to find these truly rare pieces, and what the line means to him as a collector. "These aren't the droids we're looking for ... move along." Anthony Forrest played two different key roles in the original Star Wars. As a Sandtrooper on Mos Eisley, he was the first on-screen recipient of a Jedi mind trick. And, in the legendary Anchorhead deleted scenes, he stood out next to Biggs and Luke, as Fixer, to look to a potential space battle. We talk about a lot, including his passion formusic, as well as relationship with the fandom and conventions. He will be appearing in April at Celebration Chicago, which you can now purchase autograph / photo-op tickets for from Topps: https://store.epicphotoops.com/star-wars-celebration-chicago/2019/anthony-forrest  To check out Mr. Forrest's incredible music, please visit: https://anthonyforrest.bandcamp.com/ And a very special thank you to dear friends of the show Mr. Gerald Home (Tessek, from Return of the Jedi) and Derek Maki from Coolwaters Productions for working so hard to coordinate this interview.

In 2007 the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars brought an onslaught of toys, collectibles, and commemorative items. But of all the 30th Anniversary items only one provided new insight into the Star Wars saga -- J.W. Rinsler's The Making of Star Wars. With that book's success Rinzler followed up with The Making of The Empire Strikes Back for Episode V's 30th anniversary in 2010. Now, Rinzler completes his trilogy with The Making of Return of the Jedi, and he may have saved the best for last. On this week's Star Wars Action News podcast Brock gives a hands-on review of this impressive tome, which is in bookstores today! Also on this week's show, Marjorie and Arnie have the entire first wave of Hasbro's 6-inch Black Series figures in hand. With X-Wing Luke Skwalker, R2-D2, Darth Maul, and a Sandtrooper, how does this new line of figures hold up? Listen to hear their review. With some real (trick or) treats in Target's Halloween section and a report from Project Comic-Con in St. Louis, it's all in the new Star Wars Action News podcast!
