Joining us in the base this week is Spencer Jawitz of the Virtual Cantina Network! Rian Johnson would be the happiest person in the world to come back and make a new Star Wars movie, but will he? In other Ryan news, Ryan Reynolds apparently pitched an R-rated Star Wars idea to Lucasfilm. We give our thoughts on that and more, including wondering whether the reason for the season, George Lucas, will appear in person at Star Wars Celebration 2027. We also talk to Spencer about how he became a Star Wars fan and what he's working on with the Virtual Cantina Network and his upcoming Boonta Eve party at Rebel Scum Con! Please checkout our new site trbpodcasts.com for easy access to our podcasts and our brand new merch shop! If you like having a great time talking Star Wars, you've found your home, because if you're listening to this broadcast, you are part of The Resistance!

PERRIN FERTHA and VEL SARTHA, two characters with tragic relationships. One built on the cultural tradition of an arranged marriage, the other built on rebellion and love. Perrin and Mon. Vel and Cinta. Two relationships broken, by the Rebellion in completely different ways.Perrin is a hedonist, whose characterization in Season 1 made him seem antagonistic and loveless towards Mon. During Season 2 that perception has shifted to something more nuanced, and thanks to revelations of a deleted scene, our impression of Perrin might be more complicated.Vel is a warrior, like Cinta. Both are committed to the cause and torn apart by it. A relationship strongly implied in Season 1 was finally sealed with a kiss in Season 2 with Lucasfilm finally deciding to "say gay". As soon as we had this lovers return, Cinta was taken from us by a stray blaster bolt from a foolish boy.Today we take a deep dive into these two characters and their arcs during Andor S2. Join us as we try to hear the music beneath the songs of Perrin and Vel and their tragic loves.• • •Triad of the Force is a channel which was featured on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and 2023, featuring Nani and Gus, lifelong Puerto Rican friends who after years of discussing the media they love, came together and created their show. Andor S2 is over, but not for us! We continue to celebrate this monumental series as we delve into topics or characters we didn't have enough time to discuss during our regular coverage. Today we discuss everyone's favorite anarcho-rebel, SAW GERRERA, and the unsung hero: the ISB double-agent, LONNI JUNG.In a field full of heroes, these two stand out for their unconventional approaches to rebellion. While Saw's bombastic and "chaotic" approach to his fight of the Empire drew enemies within allies, Lonni's quiet and ultimately quiet contributions to the Alliance cannot be overstated. Along with Nemik's call to rebellion through his manifesto, these two characters' sacrifice will always be remembered!• • •Triad of the Force is a channel which was featured on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and 2023, featuring Nani and Gus, lifelong Puerto Rican friends who after years of discussing the media they love, came together and created their show. In this episode of Star Warsologies, we share the recording of our our Star Wars Celebration Japan panel "The Secret Miniatures of the Star Wars Prequels" with Fon Davis! Watch the YouTube version of this episode for all the amazing behind the scenes visuals shared during the panel! You should also watch the YouTube video we refer to in (and showed during) the panel, which includes many of the miniatures in the Star Wars prequels. Panel description: Episodes I, II, and III revolutionized the use of computer graphics in film but did you know that the ILM model shop was still in full swing during production? There are more miniatures in each of the prequels than the original trilogy combined! Fon Davis, an ILM model maker during the Special Edition and prequels era, takes us through his favorite behind the scenes photos and stories - many of which involve explosions. From the podracing arena on Tatooine to the lava flows of Mustafar, a surprising number of miniatures were created and used in tandem with other visual effects. Take a deep dive into the movie magic! Show Links: Watch season 2 of Light & Magic on Disney+ now for more from Fon and other ILM behind the scenes images and stories! For more ILM stories, check out the Episode II panel from SiliCon 2022 with Fon Davis, John Goodson, Kim Smith, Nelson Hall, and Don Bies! Katie is new to the podcast and coming to you all the way from the U.K. to talk about her upcoming trip to Tokyo with her husband Adam and brother-in-law Ryan. This trip was initially planned to attend the big Star Wars Celebration expo that was scheduled to be in Japan in 2025, but of course it's hard to think about traveling that far and not stopping by Toyko Disneyland, Tokyo Disney Sea, and Universal Studios Japan! With so much to see and do in Japan, outside of their park and expo time they are prioritizing time in Kyoto, trying as much of the fresh Japanese cuisine as they can lay their hands on, and visiting at least one shrine. In mid-April, CyberPink was invited to Tokyo Japan, to attend Star Wars Celebration! It was our first time at this iconic gathering of all fans across galaxies, but Star Wars Celebration has been around since the late 1990s. It's a testament to the multi-generational and organic nature of being a Star Wars fan, but also goes to show the commercial prowess of Disney (which acquired LucasFilm in 2012). This year's celebration in Japan was the largest in recent years and paid tribute to Japanese history and culture in many subtle ways. Your favorite gals got to join the press line and interview your favorite stars, but that's not all! In this episode, the gals who went spill the tea with the other gals on what exactly went down at Star Wars Celebration 2025. We talk about the evolving diversity of the Star Wars fanbase (and movies), the unique vibe and programming at the event, major announcements (New movies! New shows! Ryan Gosling!), what it was like interviewing the creators and stars of The Mandalorian and Andor, how the Star Wars IP merges with Japanese culture, and more… Additionally, many of the face-to-face interview videos with celebrities mentioned in this episode have been posted on our Xiaohongshu account with the same name. Please follow us on Xiaohongshu! Andor Season 2 has also premiered! In this episode of Star Warsologies, we share the recording of our our Star Wars Celebration Japan panel "Droids, Artificial Intelligence, and Sentience" Panel description: R2-D2 and C-3PO. BB-8. Battle droids. Star Wars isn't Star Wars without its lovable droids. We'll examine the science of robots, the programming of personality and the ethics of sentient mechanicals in society, plus go behind the scenes on designing droids for the movies. Why do droids in Star Wars look the way they do? Why do we all love R2-D2? How close are we to having droid intelligence and personality in our own world? Let's go inside the gears and processing units to explore all the possibilities. Our team of experts includes Yukie Nagai (Project Professor, International Research Center for Neurointelligence, University of Tokyo), Fon Davis (ILM Model Maker - Star Wars), Chris Kempshall (author, Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire and The History and Politics of Star Wars) and Joel Welch (PhD Law candidate at Western University, Emerging Technology Policies & SciFi). Moderated by James Floyd (Star Wars Insider; Star Warsologies, Star Wars Crossword Puzzles). Show Links: Check out Yukie Nagai's robotics website. Check out Chris Kempshall's website.
