Tune in as 2 Cents Critic kicks off Pride Month! Yes, this month has circled back around for the year 2025, so the program will be focusing on queer art. For this first episode of June, Robyn Zabukovec (@TheFinalGirly) strides on back to her guest chair for a breakdown of Hannibal, the horror-thriller show that premiered on NBC in 2013 and spent three seasons diving into the grisly and psychological layers of the bond that grows between an FBI criminal profiler with a painfully perceptive knack for empathy and a cunning forensic psychiatrist who harbors murderous and cannibalistic secrets. Comparing this show to the underrated horror movie Sound of Violence (which Arthur and Robyn previously covered last Pride Month on 2CC), the fake TV series Clarice, and Robyn's hatred of the movies Hannibal (2001) and Red Dragon stand out as a few of the subjects on this episode.Developed by Bryan Fuller, Hannibal stars Mads Mikkelsen, Hugh Dancy, Laurence Fishburne, Caroline Dhavernas, Hettienne Park, Scott Thompson, Aaron Abrams, Gillian Anderson, Raúl Esparza, Kacey Rohl, Lara Jean Chorostecki, Suzy Eddie Izzard, Gina Torres, Anna Chlumsky, Katharine Isabelle, Michael Pitt, Joe Anderson, Vladimir Jon Cubrt, Cynthia Nixon, Richard Armitage, Rutina Wesley, Tao Okamoto, Glenn Fleshler, and Fortunato Cerlino.Spoilers start at 40:45Note: Sorry for not posting an episode last week! Ciao. Rocket Beans wird unterstützt von fritz-kola. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Do you see, Will? This week, V and Emily finally have a happy, joyous, euphoric episode! And it's about... Hannibal, the scariest show ever to be on television. But the fandom has embraced the show and one another so wholly and so delightfully that we can't help but be charmed. In particular, we are looking at the annual fannish holiday of Trans Hanni Day, a day celebrating fanworks created by trans, nonbinary, and genderqueer Fannibals, celebrating headcanons about trans, nonbinary, or genderqueer characters from the Hannibal Extended Universe. In particular, we look at the zine "Adapt. Evolve. Become," which had its first issue in 2023 and its new issue in 2025! We also swoon over Hugh Dancy just being the fucking best, even if he's also the most boring man alive. Ari Asters Square Peg produceert mee.Eerste details over David Fincher's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood spin-offNetflix produceert een vervolg op Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, met Brad Pitt terug als Cliff Booth. Timestamps:00:00:00 Nerd Culture #20400:00:15 Wat hebben we gekeken/gelezen/geluisterd00:00:20 Spawn 00:03:31 Daredevil: Born Again00:09:07 Severance00:10:37 White Lotus00:16:39 The Pitt00:21:18 Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man00:23:46 Murderbot Trailer00:26:06 Will Smith onthult details omtrent Michael B. Mon dieu! The boys are diving into un peu de cinéma français with 2024's MadS. Don't let the misleading description fool you, this is every zombie movie you've seen, but with a bit of a stylistic twist, and we're not talking just the “S” in the title being capitalized. Don't worry, there are a lot fewer Mads Mikkelsen jokes than you would expect.
Hi, Void. This was a rough one. Have you ever seen a movie so bad it erased itself from your mind? You have?! So, you've seen Fantastic Beasts, the Secrets of Dumbledore too! What secrets? No idea. This is a common theme for the entire podcast. Positive moments: Theseus being hot, Mads Mikkelsen (also hot), and . . . that's about it. Jacob again should've been the hero, not the wet blanket that is Newt Scamander. Subplots overlooked: Nazis on the rise in Europe, wizards being dragged into muggle wars, Jacob learning magic, and Dumbledore's DEAD sister! Instead, we got Creedance giving "Mom, no one understands me!" Ultimately, we call J.K. on her BS and label her a false ally and a TERRIBLE storyteller. We have Avada Cadavra readied for the moment anyone mentions a Fantastic Beasts 4. We will bury you.

As a nod to winter, Mic, Jeff, and Brian, all watched the 2018 movie, Arctic, starring Mads Mikkelsen. He is the pilot of an airplane that crash-landed somewhere in the arctic. His survival skills have kept him alive for several weeks. When a rescue helicopter arrives, it too crashes due to storm gusts. Only the copilot — a young woman — survived, though gravely injured. He then tries to get her to medical care. The boys key off of this movie to discuss winter preparedness in general. Links: Movie, Arctic — (YouTube free version. "Mufasa: Król lew" to amerykański film przygodowy produkcji Walt Disney Pictures w reżyserii Barry'ego Jenkinsa; prequel Króla lwa z 2019 roku. Scenariusz do filmu opracował Jeff Nathanson. Robert Winfree and Mark Radulich present their Mufasa The Lion King 2024 Movie Review!Mufasa: The Lion King is a 2024 American musical drama film directed by Barry Jenkins from a screenplay written by Jeff Nathanson. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures, the film is photorealistically animated and serves as both a prequel and sequel to The Lion King (2019), the remake of the 1994 animated film of the same name. Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Donald Glover, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, and John Kani reprise their roles from the remake; new cast members include Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Tiffany Boone, Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, Lennie James, Anika Noni Rose, and Blue Ivy Carter in her feature film debut.Development on a prequel to The Lion King was confirmed in September 2020, with Jenkins attached to direct and Nathanson finishing a draft of the script. Pierre and Harrison were announced as the voice cast in August 2021, followed by further casting between September 2022 and April 2024. The film was officially announced when its official title was revealed in September 2022 at the 2022 D23 Expo announcement. Production on the film slowed down in July 2023 due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. On this episode, Matt & Eric review Barry Jenkins' Mufasa: The Lion King starring Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Tiffany Boone, Donald Glover, Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, Lennie James, Anika Noni Rose, Blue Ivy Carter, and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.
For this week's main podcast review, I am joined by Nadia Dalimonte, Josh Parham & Tom O'Brien to review and discuss the latest film from director Barry Jenkins, "Mufasa: The Lion King," starring Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Tiffany Boone, Donald Glover, Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, Lennie James, Anika Noni Rose, Blue Ivy Carter & Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. We say it's the latest film from Barry Jenkins, but it doesn't look or feel like any of his previous works, as he decided to undertake the sequel to the poorly received but financially successful 2019 remake of "The Lion King." What did we think of Jenkins's direction? Was he able to elevate this material? How did we feel about the visuals, music, and voice performances? Tune in as we discuss these topics, its awards season chances, and more in our SPOILER-FILLED review. Thank you for listening, and enjoy! Check out more on NextBestPicture.com Please subscribe on... The King has returned! Barry Jenkins' Lion King prequel - Mufasa: The Lion King - has released in theaters and I had the chance to check it out just recently. The Lion King is my favorite animated film of all-time but beyond further reflection and pondering, the remake was quite a big letdown that lacked much of the soul and creativity of that original animated film. That's why I was very skeptical about Barry Jenkins' prequel and I wanted nothing more than to be excited about more movies set in the continuity of The Lion King. Barry Jenkins' involvement certainly had my curiosity piqued though. Did the movie win me over, or is this yet another soulless live-action Disney film? Find out in this review! Surrounded by the excellence of Mads Mikkelsen, Eva Green and Jeffrey Wright, the rebooted series shines – all under the watchful eye of Dame Judy Dench. How many acts does the film have? About 5.
