IntroductionAs we prepare to enter 2026, what are the kosher-certified vermouth products currently on the market? While I had previously published a list of kosher-certified vermouths, that was nearly four years ago, which has brought some changes in the market. Having spoken with the producers of Hajdu vermouth and Lovatelli vermouths at the past two Kosher Food and Wine Experiences, as well as the producer of Promised Land Beverage's vermouths for episode #96, what is currently available? To help guide us through the current offerings is Mendy Mark, who previously appeared on episode #74 and episode #78.Biography of GuestMendy Mark is a New Jersey–based professional who has served as the manager for FillerUp Kosher Wines, one of the region's leading kosher wine and spirits retailers, for the past 8 years. With years of experience in the beverage industry, he has developed a deep expertise in kosher wines, boutique producers, and the growing market for premium Israeli vintages. His work combines operational leadership with a passion for customer education, often guiding consumers toward thoughtful and halakhically sound selections. Mendy has played an instrumental role in helping FillerUp become a destination for both casual buyers and connoisseurs seeking quality kosher wines. He is recognized for his personable approach and commitment to building relationships within New Jersey's Jewish and culinary communities. Beyond his professional work, he actively supports events and tastings that celebrate Jewish culture and fine beverages. His leadership reflects a balance of tradition and innovation, blending respect for halakhic standards with contemporary tastes and trends. Through his efforts, Mendy Mark continues to elevate the profile of kosher wine appreciation across the tri-state area.Time Stamps0:00 Welcome0:35 Introduction to guest2:42 Introduction to topic3:35 The end of Kedem vermouths6:56 The expansion of options in the past 4-5 years in kosher-certified vermouths9:35 Lovatelli vermouths17:30 Considering vermouths for cocktails20:30 Martini & Rossi special runs of kosher-certified vermouths23:36 Hajdu vermouth & Dalton vermouth27:01 Twin Suns vermouths31:12 Yzaguirre vermouth32:53 Further obituary for Kedem vermouths33:27 Q&A47:19 Wrapping-up47:59 Thank you & L'chaim! Yes, this is a real thing to happen in an episode of Star Wars television.– Pablo Hidalgo, voiced by Josh Gad (no, seriously).– Everyone figures out Chopper is a spy because he's suddenly nice, and what that means about the Rebels, symbolically.– AP-5 singing in space, Star Wars, and absurdity.– Eli and Jarod nerd out about character choices, lightsaber clashes, and other geeky-ass musings in "Twin Suns".– Tatooine and nostalgia (in a good way).– A reappearance from a hooded wizard out in the desert.– Vengeance, justice, sadness, regret, finality, and hope.... all in the span of about 5 minutes at the end of the episode.Find Jarod on BlueSky: @darkjedi2552.bsky.socialWatch The Nerd Academy Podcast: https://www.youtube.com/@thenerdacademypodcastWatch Pro & Noob: https://www.youtube.com/@TheMitch692Channel/videosThe next episode of Star Wars: In a Galaxy will release on December 12, 2025.Follow us on BlueSky, Instagram, and Threads: @InaGalaxyPod/@inagalaxypod.bsky.appFollow our spinoff trivia show on BlueSky: @inagalaxytrivia.bsky.socialFollow Eli everywhere: https://linktr.ee/_ochifan327Leave us a 5-star rating and review on Apple and Spotify! Send us a textCurious about kosher wines but don't know where to begin? Join Domain Dave as he uncorks the Twin Suns Lodi Mevushal Cabernet Sauvignon 2023, a $10 Trader Joe's find that offers fascinating insights into the intersection of wine and religious tradition. This episode goes beyond typical tasting notes to explore how religious requirements shape winemaking approaches. Dave demystifies the concept of "Mevushal" wines – kosher bottles that undergo a special pasteurization process, making them acceptable for anyone to handle while maintaining their religious significance. For the wine-curious who've wondered about kosher wines but hesitated to explore them, this episode provides the perfect introduction. The Twin Suns Cabernet itself represents an interesting departure from modern California wine styles. With more pronounced tannins and oak spice than your typical fruit-forward Cab, it's crafted specifically to complement food rather than stand alone as a sipper. As Dave discovers, this traditional approach transforms dramatically when paired with cheese, allowing its fruit characteristics to shine through while taming its harder edges.Whether you're observing religious traditions or simply expanding your wine horizons, this episode offers valuable insights into an often-overlooked category of wines. From the fascinating family story behind Twin Suns to practical advice on finding and enjoying kosher wines, Dave delivers another informative episode that proves great wine experiences don't require emptying your wallet. Next time you're at Trader Joe's, grab this bottle and a cheese plate, and discover how a $10 wine can create a memorable tasting experience. Turns out plants are absolute CHATTERBOXES! They talk so much that they make Julian look like a silent partner (he's not). Instead, he uses a silly German accent to accost our guest Maren Hunsberger all about plant communication. And, speaking of intense interrogations, Star Wars' Tatooine gets a lot of play in the pop-science space news, but here at home having two suns is way hotter, and also (surprisingly) WAY COLDER!QUESTIONSJulian: "What would happen if our Solar System had two suns" from HannahMaren: "If plants ‘scream' when cut, do they talk for other reasons?" from XanderDo you have an absurd question? Maybe it's a silly idea you had, a shower thought about the nature of reality, or a ridiculous musing about your favorite food? If you want an answer, no matter the question, tell us!HOW TO ASK A QUESTION

Ezra Bridger falls into another trap, and is pulled into someone else's storyline. In this episode of Dark Side Divas we discuss the Star Wars Rebels Episode "Twin Sunds" (s3e20). This episode is one of the most important story lines in all of Star Wars. The story of Maul comes to an end, and we see the return of Stef's favorite character. Listen to hear what the divas have to say.
Rebels Season 3 comes to a close with a trio of episodes that demonstrates just how far the Star Wars Animation team has come as a group of visual storytellers. Twin Suns brings us to Tatooine as hostile and hopeless as its ever been seen for a final confrontation between two series standbys (and a totally fine Ezra arc about family and fate). Zero Hour gives us Thrawn at the height of victory and vulnerability. The stage is set for the final season... which we'll be bringing to you over the next two months in four episode chunks, so that we're ready to leap headfirst into Andor Season 2 when it debuts in late April! After finally giving us some solid Sabine time, Rebels is now zooming back out to get a broader view of the ongoing conflict--and, of course, a one off comedy episode about a droid. And hey, good news, not only do these episodes manage to deliver some great character beats, not only do they bring us a dramatic look inside of our favorite slowly radicalizing senator, Mon Mothma, not only do they provide one of the most magical (and musical?) moments of Star Wars... they're also really good! In Star Wars The Last Jedi, during THAT ending scene with Luke Skwaylker...did he imagine the binary suns as a pay of homage towards A New Hope? Or were they actually there? Greeting, Void! We bring you this extra episode of Erin, Brennan, and Matt donning our Jedi robes for our council meeting on the overarching works of Star Wars. As the resident über nerds, we rank every Star Wars movie, including that solo movie, how the sequel trilogy could have been better (Gray Jedi), and how does it compare with the prequels? Overall, we agree that the lightsaber battles should have been better, character development and plot continuity, and how good characters were written off without reason. Really, we just discuss how much we love these movies, even when they let us down. Like rooting for an underdog team, maybe they'll get it right next season.
This week we conclude our deep discussion on Obi-Wan and Darth Maul's relationship throughout Star Wars, beginning with "The Lawless" and finishing with the dramatic conclusion between these two linked characters in Rebels episode "Twin Suns." We even discuss Maul's twisted, sordid obsession with Satine and his shrine we catch a glimpse of in Rebels, dissecting what we think the shrine meant and how it shows a new level of Maul's character. In the end, Obi-Wan and Maul are two characters who have been connected from the start, and the compassion Obi-Wan shows Maul in the end shows Obi-Wan's true character. What a full circle story between the two of them. We hope we covered it sufficiently between our previous episode and this week's episode, because as painful as their story is: it's one of the greatest in Star Wars.
Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul's lives have been linked since the beginning: from The Phantom Menace all the way through to Star Wars Rebels, these two characters have shared loss, isolation and emotion together, and have had a constant presence in one another's life. In this episode, we break down the similarities and differences between these two characters, starting with the Phantom Menace through The Clone Wars "Revenge" episode. (In next week's episode, we'll pick it back up and continue through their conclusion in Star Wars Rebels episode, "Twin Suns".) We also raise the question of whether it was a smart idea to bring Maul back, and if it has forwarded the Star Wars story in a positive or negative way. Given that we're dedicating two episodes to this dumpster fire of a relationship between Kenobi and Maul - you probably already know our answer!
It's time for some Star Wars questions! Did any Jedi confuse the Clones and how did the Clones start to form their unique identities? What bounty hunter would we like to see more of post-Return of the Jedi? Did Palpatine have a plan that included the possibility of the Separatists winning? What are our real-life Twin Suns moments? It's another round of Star Wars Questions with Joseph Scrimshaw and Ken Napzok on the 496th edition of ForceCenter! From the minds of Ken Napzok (comedian, host of The Napzok Files), Joseph Scrimshaw (comedian, writer, host of the Obsessed podcast), and Jennifer Landa (actress, YouTuber, crafter, contributor on StarWars.com) comes the ForceCenter Podcast Feed.
