Earlier this week we had our good friend Doug Frye on the podcast. Doug was one of the four guys who used to appear on the now defunct Schlock Treatment Podcast. They recorded that show in person and about four years ago I was in New York City for a work trip and had the chance to break away from that and join them for the evening. It was a great time and I wish I could have recorded the whole evening because after we did the show, all of us went to dinner together and I got to have my very own private Schlock Treatment podcast in how I was just able to listen and watch them all interact. I’ll always cherish this chance to meet these guys. And now we present it to you as a bonus episode of Nerd Lunch.
Summer Reunions 2017 continues with a show takeover! Kirk Howle, Matt Ringler and Doug Frye from the late, great Schlock Treatment podcast take over Nerd Lunch with their version of a Nerd Lunchish topic. The trio comes up with their own schlock movies in what they are dubbing "Build-A-Schlock." Summer Reunions 2017 continues next week!

This week the nerds welcome back Doug Frye (Rest in Podcast, Schlock Treatment) to the Fourth Chair. They also welcome back the You've Got The Rights topic as it climbs towards franchise topic status. On the docket for fresh project pitches are an 80s loose cannon cop, a superhero martial arts icon, a member of 24's CTU, and a Saturday morning cartoon favorite. Along the way, the conversation veers into lots of nuts, Nancy Drew, and Hillbilly Jim.

Matt Ringler from Schlock Treatment returns and the Nerds return to the scenario first executed in episode 129. CT takes on the persona of idiot Ned N. Unfortunately for Ned, his powerful step-dad has partnered him with consultants tasked with pitching horrible ideas to him in an effort to creat the "WORST. TV SHOW. EVER."

Overseeing the proceedings is the Honorable Judge CT, with the prosecution being presented by Matt Ringler, the defense counsel offered by Jeeg, and star witness duties fulfilled by Pax. Will the likes of Pee-wee's Big Adventure and Ed Wood be enough to outweigh Dark Shadows, Alice in Wonderland, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Will Helena Bonham Carter make an appearance in this episode? Will Matt Ringler be able to lock up Burton for good and justify missing the recording of Schlock Treatment Episode 102? Grab your seat in the courtroom gallery and find out! In our Nerd To-Dos we discuss Laurel & Hardy, iTunes, Walking Dead trade paperbacks, Christmas movie viewing, and Django.

Pax is vacationing in the Phantom Zone, so Aaron Nix from Movie Hodge Podge and Matt Ringler of Schlock Treatment join Jeeg and CT for this week's episode. Each of us choose one person and one pop culture item to erase from existence and then discuss the consequences of that removal. We go for the jugular with some of these, but luckily it's all hypothetical... as far as you know. Our Nerd To-Do's feature a follow-up on Pixar's Brave, somebody named Richie Brockelman, Atomic Robo, and one nerd's quest to watch the original Star Trek movies for the first time.
