LA SPINZ – March 30, 2026 – Final Sequence Segment 1: KPOP supergroup BTS returned to the limelight after a 4 year hiatus to complete military service. “Arirang,” the group's first studio album in six years, debuted with 110 million first-day streams on Spotify, which easily beat the 63 million that the year's previous leader, Harry Styles' “Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally” did on ITS first day. SORRY HARRY. Segment 2: Noah Kahan made audiences laugh and cry at the South By Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas. Kahan is featured in a new Netflix documentary about depression and body dysmorphia, called “Out Of Body.” In the film, Kahan opens up about his disordered eating, saying he has struggled with his body image for 15 years. But DON'T pass the popcorn…he KAHAN't eat it. Segment 3: A video of Taylor Frankie Paul throwing barstools and cursing at her ex in front of her crying child caused Disney to pull the plug on Paul's upcoming season of “The Bachelorette”. However, Taylor's castmates on “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” had ALREADY complained to Disney previously about her behavior….so Disney already KNEW. Bad mouse! Segment 4: Director Sofia Coppola has shelved a planned 2026 film project with long-time collaborator Kirsten Dunst, stating the project felt “too SAD” given the current “dark times”. The untitled period piece, which was set to shoot in the U.S., is dead in the water. Coppola said she wants to direct a docu-drama on Britney Spears. And that's NOT sad? Segment 5: In her best-selling memoir, ‘You with the Sad Eyes', Christina Applegate confesses to dumping Brad Pitt for Skid Row frontman, Sebastian Bach. She says that Pitt was her date to the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards, but when she met Bach there, she dumped Pitt to hang out with the rocker. Bach, now 57, says he was just a YOUTH, GONE WILD. Segment 6: Dead Or Alive: Nicholas Brendon is best known for playing Xander Harris for 7 seasons of “Buffy, The Vampire Slayer.” Dead Or Alive? DEAD. In recent years, Harris had issues with drugs and had left the entertainment industry and focused on art and painting. He was NOT being considered for the “Buffy” spinoff which ALSO died last week. BOOO. Sorry. Segment 7: The trailer for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has become the biggest trailer of all time with 718 million views in just 24 hours. The Spidey trailer from Sony Pictures broke the previous record held by “Deadpool and Wolverine,” which had 365 million views. Good thing someone at Sony had the “SPIDEY SENSE” to green light the project. Segment 8: The argument between Justin Bieber and Usher at the Oscars after-party was HEATED and continued to escalate until others intervened between them. The incident occurred at the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, hosted by Beyoncé and Jay-Z, and was attended by a star-studded guest list. The friendship between Man Baby and Usher has been strained. SURPRISING? NOOO. Segment 9: Attention geeks! There will be a Minecraft World amusement park opening in London in 2027. The $70 million project will open within Chessington World Adventures in the UK from Microsoft-owned “Minecraft” maker Mojang Studios and owner of the Legoland theme parks, Merlin Entertainments. But, you WILL have to leave your Mom's BASEMENT. Segment 10: Idiot Of The Week – TikTok star Benjamin Gleason was arrested and charged with rape. He is now in Columbia County jail in New York. He’s been charged with 2 counts of rape, 1 count of predatory sexual assault committed against more than 1 person, 1 count of criminal sexual act in the 1st degree by forcible compulsion, and 1 count of 1st degree sexual abuse. IDIOT! Segment 11: Kelly Osbourne and her fiancé, Slipknot keyboardist Sid Wilson, have ended their engagement. This is because of Kelly’s difficult time dealing with the loss of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, who died last July. The breakup comes 7 months after Sid proposed to Kelly at Ozzy’s final concert with Black Sabbath last summer. But did her EMACIATED look also contribute? Segment 12: Nicki Minaj is being sued for failing to pay a BIG bill. 24/7 Productions is suing Nicki for refusing to pay them $275,000 for the company's services to produce two concerts for Nicki. The rapper was evidently paid over $650,000 for the shows, but STILL won't pay the bill. Hey, what do you expect from a Super Freaky Girl? Segment 13: “REACHER” star Alan Ritchson was caught on video beating up his neighbor, Ronnie Taylor. The problem started when Ritchson loudly rode his motorcycle through their quiet Tennessee neighborhood at a high speed. After Taylor jumped out in front of Ritchson's bike, Alan punched him and kicked him four times. But no charges were filed, as a verdict of self-defense was…REACHED. Segment 14: A California jury found that Bill Cosby HAD drugged and sexually assaulted former waitress Donna Motsinger in 1972, awarding her $19.25 million for her trauma over the past 54 years. Cosby served three years in prison but was freed in 2021 after his conviction was overturned in Pennsylvania. Pay up, Bill! Segment 15: Trash Bin – Stars of “The Real Housewives of Pretoria”, a South African installment of the popular franchise, have been arrested for stealing thousands of dollars' worth of groceries from Publix, a Florida grocery store. Melany and Petrus Viljoen were charged with aggravated grand retail theft and accused of stealing 392 items. That's SOME shoplifting! Segment 16: News Wrap – a) Major League Baseball has signed a deal with gambling company Polymarket which will allow you to pretty much bet on anything to do with the game. b) Amazon is planning a new smartphone more than a decade after its Fire Phone flop. c) Xiaomi has trialed the use of its self-developed humanoid robots in its electric vehicle factory. Two humanoid robots can complete 90% of the work in three hours. Let THAT sink in. Segment 18: Song Of The Week – Dominic Fike – “Babydoll” – Dominic Fike had a difficult childhood, growing up in Naples, Florida because both of his parents were heroin addicts. His father briefly showed up over the course of a few weeks and taught him how to play guitar before disappearing again. Eight years ago, he made a tape of a song in a room a friend let him stay in, while he was under house arrest. He was dead poor and only had his music to guide him forward. He is now a well-known musician and actor on the hit series “Euphoria.” A song from that dark period of his life has taken off which we LOVE. Here's Dominic Fike with the Song of the Week, “Babydoll.” That was Dominic Fike with the Song of the Week, “Babydoll.” The post LA SPINZ – March 30 2026 appeared first on LA Spinz.

Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman, marking my 108th episode of VideoFuzzy titled "Tenuous Connections," reporting the progress I've made in cataloging thousands of VHS transfers and digital recordings. Plus, with this episode I celebrate cataloging disc 2000 in my Classic Collection. I open with my Fuzzy Feature, discussing "Plateau," a third-season episode of "Fringe" in which a neurological lab subject is suspected of committing murders via chain reactions and tenuous connections. I talk about "The Second Thousand," the pace of this project as I look back on nearly nine years of this cataloging effort, and the sorts of things I have to look forward to as the cataloging portion of this project is coming to a close. In Cross Connections, I track connections through the rather impressive back catalog of Michael Eklund, the lab subject in that episode of "Fringe." Also, Rachel Miner, Shawn Ryan, Ted Griffin, Adam Carrera, McG, Maggie Q, Shane West, Lyndsy Fonseca, Melinda Clarke, Linda Hamilton, Tim Curry, Steve Buscemi, Olivia Munn, Vanessa Williams, Kate Micucci, Jennifer Aniston, Michael Chiklis, Julie Benz, Rhea Perlman, William Shatner, Nicole Sullivan, Will Sasso, Tom Stashwick, Missi Pyle, Cybill Shepherd, Jean Smart, Sam Pancake, Tim Bagley, Steve Austin, Nicole Richie, Alex O'Laughlin, Daniel Dae Kim, Grace Park, Chi McBride, Jorge Garcia, Masi Oka, Ian Anthony Dale, Scott Caan, D.B. Sweeney, Clea Duvall, Zeljko Ivanek, Lawrence Pressman, Michael Cristofer, Will Arnett, David Cross and Russell Tovey. In "Fond Reflections," I am joined by longtime friend and friend of the pod Marc Bailey, also known as Grailwolf, in a farewell to Nicholas Brendon, who we said goodbye to this month. Brendon's strongest presence in my media collection was as Xander Harris in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," as well as a principal role in "Kitchen Confidential" and a recurring role in "Criminal Minds." In my Classic Collection [VHS-to-DVD transfers], I celebrated cataloging discs 1976 through 2000 with a detailed discussion of what I was finding in this set, with comments on "Terriers," "Nikita," a Trident commercial that caught my eye, an IFC documentary called "Portraits of Braddock," "Mad Men," "Rubicon," Stephen Colbert cosplaying Peter Sellers' character Doctor Strangelove, clip shared to VideoFuzzy's Instagram. Also, "Hung," "Covert Affairs," "The Closer," "Chuck," "The Event," "Criminal Minds," "Cougar Town," "$#*! My Dad Says," "Boardwalk Empire," "Grey's Anatomy," "Glee," "Raising Hope," "No Ordinary Family," Aaron Sorkin and "The Social Network," "The Good Guys," "Monty Python's Flying Circus" and "The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret." In Book Reports, comments on Caleb Carr's "Surrender, New York"; Katheryn Harkup's "A is for Arsenic: The Poisons of Agatha Christie"; Caroline Crampton's "A Body Made of Glass" and M.C. Beaton's "Agatha Raisin and The Vicious Vet." In my Current Collection [direct to digital], I added Marilyn Manson's video "God is in the TV" (1999), as well as "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" (1975), "The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do the Time Warp Again" (2016), "Desperately Seeking Susan" (1985), "Who's That Girl?" (1987), "Dick Tracy" (1990), "A League of Their Own" (1992), "The Crazy World of Julius Vrooder" (1974), "Heretic" (2024) and "Mister Sterling" which I found posted to Margaret X's YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/@margaretx6030. Buffy the Vampire Slayer: "The Zeppo"Is this a penis metaphor? Yes, actually! This hilarious episode makes "normal guy" Xander Harris the main character on his own adventure as the apocalypse happens in the background, using him to interrogate toxic masculinity while satirizing and parodying the clichés and tropes of a typical Buffy episode. We get into a brief history of the titular Zeppo from the Marx Brothers, the real-life issues and abuses of Joss Whedon and Nicholas Brendon that make this episode complicated to revisit, and Cordelia Chase as a manifestation of Xander's negative self-talk.A proud part of The Glitterjaw Queer Podcast CollectiveTip us on Ko-Fi | Gimmicks WebsiteEmail: gimmickspodcast@gmail.com | Bluesky | InstagramTheme song: "Disco Tears" by Raven | Creative Commons Attribution 3.0Sources: Passion of the Nerd's Buffy GuideTV Line Nicholas Brendon InterviewScienceFiction.com Interview with Nicholas BrendonThe Marx Brothers: Anarchy, Wit, and the Birth of Cinematic ComedyThe Undoing of Joss Whedon
It's time to draw some dots all over yourselves as Casual Trek's discussing Dax! This one's a Ko-Fi donor episode, so thanks Ben for the opportunity to talk about some more Trill shenanigans. We normally talk about three different shows but here we're looking at three different Dax hosts. There's also a weird sub-theme of muuuurder. In “Dax”, Jadzia's on trial for a murder that one of Dax's previous hosts may have done. We've got Odo in detective mode, a trial in Quark's bar and a gloriously disinterested judge. In “Equilibrium”, we delve into the dark past of Dax as Jadzia starts remembering things which none of her hosts have done. Oh no, she's got a Dark Passenger! It's Joran Dax! In “Field of Fire”, Ezri Dax investigates a murderer on DS9 and has to enlist Joran Dax to help her hunt them down. Joran takes the opportunity to oversell how much of a murderer he was, but we all have a fun time. Unless you're a murder victim, I guess. Just as a warning, there's some beeping on the audio as there was some building work going on. We also go on way too long about Davy Crockett and how little we know or care about him. It'll make sense when you get there. 00:02:48 Non-Star Trek Things: Fallout, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon 00:11:47 Deep Space Nine: Dax 00:43:20 Deep Space Nine: Equilibrium 01:07:47 Deep Space Nine: Field of Fire Talking points include: Venom, Spider-Man 3, Fallout (TV show & game), GTA, Rings of Power, Person of Interest, The 3DS, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Hyrule Warriors, Planet of the Bass explains later Mobile Suit Gundam series, the Mortal Kombat theme, Julian Bashir has creepy Xander Harris energy, Robbie Williams' career, X-Files style cover-ups, of all people MILES compares something to Lynch, all of the Wolverine revelations, X-Men: Deadly Genesis, all the Professor X mindwipes, Britney-mania, Phoenix Wright, Invader Zim, Hannibal, Joran Dax is the crypto bro of murders, BSG, Farscape, The Dark Half starring Anthony Michael Hall from The Breakfast Club, Kira's Karen Haircut, Odo's reading habits, Rear Window, Starfleet Poirot, No one British gives a crap about Davy Crockett. Last year, South Korea's Extra Noir asked “What links a mall Santa in Singapore with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak? Scottish bard Robert Burns and Tales from the Crypt? What connects a cry for love in the industrial heart of Seoul with Algernon Blackwood spiking a batch of eggnog?” The answer, of course, was their Christmas charity compilation, Noël Noir. Xander Harris just wants to be cool. But what is his thing? He's tried watching girls while they change, cheating on his girlfriend with his best friend, and generally not taking responsibility for his fragile masculinity. Nothing has worked! Then he gets a car and some zombie friends, and suddenly, things are turning up Xander. So of course the world is ending. Hear us discuss… … NOT slandering Xander, for once! Willow getting bolder in her use of magic Guess everyone's forgiven Giles? Since when are there gangs in Sunnydale? The cake is a lie Trigger warnings Bullying, death
Screenwriter & Filmmaker Sam Watson discusses how Buffy resonated with him at young age, how it inspired him to write horror & supernatural series' and how Ross Gellar and Xander Harris might be the same person from different universes.
Cordelia is back and she's over Xander Harris. So over him that she definitely isn't pretending to kiss other boys or talking about him constantly. Eventually, she talks to the wrong (or right?) person, new girl Anya who shares Cordy's love for designer labels but also happens to be a demon out to grant wishes of revenge. Cordelia's wish that Buffy had never come to Sunnydale catapults her through the looking glass into a twisted version of her hometown … and Xander and Willow are still into each other! This girl cannot catch a break. Hear us discuss… So you're just going to leave that demon corpse there? We cannot with Xander's revisionist history All these actors are so old! We are here for queer-coded vamp Willow Steph is ready to be Asian Anya in the reboot CALL HER Trigger warnings Bullying, mechanical exsanguination, neck snapping, torture

While opinions are split on Hell House LLC 3, everyone agrees that All Hallows Eve 2 doesn't have much going for it. Tune in for a puzzling Halloween movie list, and stay for a long conversation about how much Xander from Buffy sucks as a person.

We’re settling into Season 2 this week, covering s02e07 “Lie to Me,” s02e13 “Surprise!” and s02e14 “Innocence.” You know, just some all-time classics. Buffy Summers remains an iconic legend, awkward Willow Rosenberg is perfection, and Xander Harris is… yeah. This aired 23 years ago! To podcast this show, you have to love it.

In our first episode of 2020, we dive in our first TV show AND a Very Important One at that: Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The beloved cult TV series, created by Joss Whedon, ran for seven seasons from 1997 til its finale in 2003. The series' protagonist is the titular Buffy, a teenage girl trying to make sense of high school whilst also grappling with being the Slayer, the latest in a long line of young women chosen by fate to battle against vampires, demons, and other forces of darkness. We're going to be specifically focusing on how witchcraft is presented throughout the whole series, paying special attention to the evolution of the show's main witch, Willow Rosenberg (played by Alyson Hannigan), who over the course of seven seasons transforms from a shy, studious girl into the most powerful witch in the Buffyverse. Anna is joined by podcaster and Buffy connoisseur Becky Darke to discuss magic crack dens, magic as a metaphor for female sexuality, the balance of power, and the very few warlocks presented throughout the show. *** To coincide with our season of films and events, Here Be Witches, we will be focusing this first series on exploring all things witchcraft on film. Each episode, we will dive deep into films and TV shows that we can't necessarily screen. Each episode, we'll be joined with special guests to dissect and discuss a film or show, its legacy and the way witches are represented. Have you ever wanted Xander Harris to be your dad? Liam Booker has. Have you ever wanted your girlfriend to prove to you that she’s a real lesbian? Well, that’s bad. Don’t do that one. Have you ever wanted to be monogamous with your boyfriend but you think gay people can’t do that? That’s not great either. Maybe stop getting advice from Faking It characters. Listen to this week’s HTI instead to hear Alix and Laney vent about biphobia, like, a lot. Twitter: @hottakingit Email: hottakingit@gmail.com
On this episode of “Recover Everything”: Actor, Writer, and Mental Health Advocate, Nicholas Brendon, opens up like never before. “Nicky” played the character “Xander Harris” on the highly successful television show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Nicky has had some ups and downs over the years, yet he has no reservations talking about his battle with substance abuse, depression and anxiety. He also explains how he has redirected his energy to spreading mental health awareness through a self funded personal meet and greet tour "Happiness Runs Amok, because I give Amok tour. https://www.nickybrendon.com/events/ The book mentioned in this episode is "The true Power Of Water" by Masaru Emoto #soundhound
We’re back and we’re brief! Yes cats and kittens, this week we manage to keep the show down to under 14 hours. You’re welcome. Joining me this time around is writer, producer, Buffy scholar, and, most importantly, Twitter manager for Star Talk Radio, Jennifer Walsh. In episode 312, “Helpless” we talk about Buffy’s daddy issues, how well the premise of Giles’ betrayal has aged since its original airdate, and what kind of weirdo vamp ‘roids Kralik must be on to do the things he does. And in 313, “The Zeppo” I finally ease up just a little bit on poor ol’ Xander Harris as we discuss what may arguably be his high-water mark in the series, and recognize that it isn’t always about him doing or saying problematic things, sometimes problematic things are done or said to him. Next: academics are so hard to pin down! Presumably I WILL have a guest with me, but I can neither confirm nor deny that at this time. Whatever the case may be SOMEBODY is going to be talking about episodes 314, “Bad Girls” and 315, “Consequences.” THE BREAKDOWN Intro / Guest (00:00:00 - 00:08:53) Main Topic (00:08:53 - 01:29:55) Outro / Next (01:29:55 - 01:33:41) THE LIBRARY Library Closed For Filing - Please Come Back Tomorrow THE MUSIC “Conversations (feat. It's time for a double dose of Xander Harris. One super smooth and the other...uh...special in other ways. 00:54 Where Are They Now: Nicholas Brendon 09:19 Why are they hanging in Xander’s busted basement? 14:03 Does Xander have a low credit score? 17:25 Buffy has zero respect for Riley 25:51 Xander’s lack of self esteem is troubling 29:19 Xander’s Snoopy Dance is born 36:50 Riley professes his love for Buffy and she just farts 43:40 Riley put Xander in an uncomfortable situation 48:02 Which one was Kelly and which one was Nick?
If you’ve made it this far into the podcast I have to assume you’ve just accepted that my audio quality is NEVER going to be worth a damn, so I apologize again and bless you for your forbearance. As for the episode you’re listening to today I’m joined by author and Georgia Tech Humanities and Science Fiction Librarian Karen Viars as we try to push through the static to discuss the complicity of Sunnydale’s adults, the pop culture acumen of Xander Harris, and how computers from the ‘90s worked. Episode 218, “Killed by Death” introduces us to the Sunnydale strain of the flu, which apparently the doctors think can break bones? In 219, “I Only Have Eyes for You” the quality of mercy is not Buffy as we get what is perhaps the most effective (and affecting) ghost story that the series ever tells. And in 220 the gang plays “Go Fish” with a number of questionable sexual assault metaphors. And Xander in a speedo. Next: Alexander Lester returns to the graveyard as promised to discuss the powerful Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Two finale, “Becoming (Part 1)” and “Becoming (Part 2).” THE BREAKDOWN Intro / Guest (00:00:00 - 00:06:56) Main Topic (00:06:56 - 01:29:54) Outro / Next (01:29:54 - 01:32:18) THE LIBRARY Library Closed For Filing - Please Come Back Tomorrow THE MUSIC “Conversations (feat. Nicholas Brendon, who received critical and popular acclaim for his portrayal of sensitive, wisecracking “Xander Harris” on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, turned to acting when his aspirations of playing professional baseball were squelched by a serious arm injury. Nicholas first appeared on television in a handful of commercials and series guest spots. Feeling slightly disenchanted with Hollywood, he took a personal hiatus to play the “real life” roles of production assistant, plumber's assistant, veterinary janitor, food delivery guy, script delivery guy, day care counselor and waiter. He was fired from all but one of the aforementioned positions. During his seventh year in the F&B (Food and Beverage service, for the layman), Nicholas decided to give acting another go; after two months of auditioning, he landed the role of Xander and hung up his apron for good. During his hiatuses from the show he starred in the motion pictures Psycho Beach Party and Demon Island. After Buffy wrapped, Nicholas tackled the roles of “Dana” in the 2004 ABC Family movie Celeste in the City, “Seth” in the 2005 Fox series Kitchen Confidential and “Gil” in the 2006 ABC Family movie Relative Chaos. Offscreen, the LA native enjoys quality time with his loved ones, Dodger games and cooking. He also devotes himself to awareness efforts on behalf of the Stuttering Foundation of America. Nicholas, whose fans have raised more than $5,000 for the SFA through his official Web site, served as honorary chairperson of the charity's Stuttering Awareness Week from 2000-2003. He's the first person to serve in the role for three consecutive years. Bio courtesy of NickBrendon.com.
