A huge news week sees another hiatus for Fake Free Comic Book Day, a return of Jason Aaron to Conan, Mark Waid returning the DC for the first time in twelve plus years and after 27 years, a famous independent publisher closes up shop. Barry has put himself into stasis to try and preserve the 1% Speed he has left, but is woken by Chester following another attack by Eva. Eva has been busy destroying every remnant of Black Hole and tries to argue she's on the same side as the Flash as they both want Black Hole gone, but Barry simply retorts that if Eva was telling the truth then she would’ve already let Iris out of the Mirror World. Meanwhile, Cecile tries to interrogate Rosalind Dillon following Eva's murder of Sam Scudder, the first mirror duplicate she ever created. She discovers Dillon was also once an empath and that she was working with Black Hole and was actually a mastermind. Elsewhere, Nash discovers from the other Wells occupying his mind that there may be a way to partially activate the artificial speed force, but that it would result in his death, so searches for an alternative. Nash, Allegra, and Chester try a new method which results in Barry absorbing the minds of all the other Wells. Cecile uses her full powers against Dillon getting her to reveal that Eva plans to destroy a Black Hole plane over Central City. Chester, Allegra, and Nash restore Barry's mind and Nash sacrifices himself and the other Wells to power the artificial Speed Force and hands control of his body over to H.R. Wells, Sherloque and Harry so they can each have a moment to say goodbye to Barry. With the artificial Speed Force running, Barry has his powers back and saves the plane. Nash, upon his sacrifice, is disintegrated. The Black Hole items on the airplane end up in the custody of A.R.G.U.S. as Barry has Chester inform Cisco about what happened to Wells. Elsewhere, Iris attempts to escape from the Mirrorverse. Eva messes with Iris by presenting her with visions of herself mocking her over her situation. Eva sees footage of the night of the particle accelerator explosion and realizes that she's just a mirror duplicate. The real Eva never entered the Mirror World, and instead died upon impacting the mirror causing the mirror Eva to think that everything she originally thought was wrong.
Ralph intercepts the mirror gun blast, saving the dagger, which Cicada then reclaims before escaping. After Thawne's plan is explained, Nora realizes she has been played and comes up with a plan to eliminate Cicada without destroying the dagger. The team tracks Cicada to her younger self where Nora enters her mind, and with help from a reformed Orlin successfully convinces her to take the metahuman cure. However, the dark matter from the dagger, counteracts the cure, forcing Barry to destroy it with the mirror gun, resulting in the adult Grace being erased while in 2049 Thawne regains his powers. The entire team confronts and fights Thawne with Barry and Nora finally subduing him, and the new daggerless timeline threatens to erase Nora. Thawne escapes after revealing the only way to save her is for her to enter the negative speed force, however, Nora refuses to enter the negative speedforce because she doesn’t want to become like Thawne. Tearfully, Nora embraces her parents and is erased from existence. Later, Sherloque returns to his Earth while Cisco takes the metahuman cure. Captain Singh gets promoted and names Joe his replacement, while also revealing he knows Barry is the Flash. Meanwhile, Barry and Iris discover a farewell message from Nora. Finally, as the new timeline sets in, the date of the crisis in the future newspaper changes from 2024 to 2019.
Team Flash decide to gather the metahumans in Central City at the CCPD and distribute the cure to protect them against Cicada. Sherloque goes to get Renee, but she refuses the cure and is sent to safety on his Earth. Nora reveals she is still connected to Grace's mind from using the Memory Machine and feels her anger through the Negative Speed Force. She wants to look through Grace's eyes to locate her, but her parents decide it is too dangerous. Ralph is trying to figure out Thawne's plan, but the others are more interested in stopping Cicada. After Cicada collects the final pieces for her weapon, Barry and Iris agree to let Nora connect to her and expose herself to the Negative Speed Force, and she locates Cicada just as she attacks CCPD. Cicada then uses the metas' dark matter as a battery for the cryo-atomizer. While the others engage Cicada, Cisco disables the cryo-atomizer. Finally, Ralph figures out Thawne's plan just as Barry shoots Cicada's dagger with the mirror gun. In 2049, Thawne's time is up and he is about to be executed. As he is strapped down, it is revealed that his powers are being dampened by Cicada's dagger.
The future drops a "Time Bomb" on Team Flash. When Orlin Dwyer wakes to discover that the new Cicada is his time-travelling niece Grace, he is pretty shocked when she reveals that she wants every meta killed, starting with her parents' killer, Vickie Bolen. Barry and the team are hot on the trail, but despite trying to protect Bolen, this new Cicada is even more powerful than her uncle. Ralph is trying a normal relationship with his new, official girlfriend Kamilla, but Ralph keeps putting on pressure to tell her about the team. Sherloque now has the final key to Nora's secret when he discovers a hidden message inside Thawne's old wheelchair. Will all these pressures push them all to the breaking point? Jay and Josh consider never using ATMs again on this week's episode of Scarlet Velocity: A Flash Podcast!
Ralph over steps his boundaries a bit but gives Cisco sound advice about his new relationship with Kamilla. We discover who is behind Cicada 2 and Team Flash has a real villain on their hands. AND! Sherloque finally reveals Nora's secret; Barry and team are not happy about it. All that plus some news and gossip. Join the discussion! Flash is based upon characters published by DC Comics where through a freak accident scientist Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is given the power of super speed that transforms him into the Fastest Man Alive. After witnessing his mother's (Michelle Harrison) supernatural murder and his father's (John Wesley Shipp) wrongful conviction for the crime, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is taken in by Detective Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) and his family. Allen becomes a brilliant but socially awkward crime scene investigator for the Central City Police Department. His obsession with his tragic past causes him to become an outcast among his peers; he investigates cold cases, paranormal occurrences, and cutting-edge scientific advancements that may shed light on his mother's murder. No one believes his description of the crime—that a ball of lightning with the face of a man invaded their home that night—and Allen is fiercely driven to vindicate himself and to clear his father's name. Fourteen years after his mother's death, an advanced particle accelerator malfunctions during its public unveiling, bathing the city center with a previously unknown form of radiation during a severe thunderstorm. Allen is struck by lightning from the storm and doused with chemicals in his lab. Awakening after a nine-month coma, he discovers he has the ability to move at superhuman speeds. Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh), the disgraced designer of the failed particle accelerator, describes Barry's special nature as "metahuman"; Allen soon discovers that he is not the only one who was changed by the radiation. Allen vows to use his gifts to protect Central City from the escalating violence of metahuman criminals. He is aided by a few close friends and associates who guard his secrets. Six months after the events of the first season, after a singularity event, the Flash is recognized as Central City's hero. Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears), the Flash from a parallel universe, visits Barry and warns him another speedster named Zoom (also portrayed by Sears and voiced by Tony Todd) is trying to eliminate everyone connected to the Speed Force throughout themultiverse. Jay, and later Harrison Wells' parallel universe counterpart, work to help Barry and his friends stop Zoom. Joe and his daughter, Iris (Candice Patton), struggle with their shared painful past related to their family, especially after the arrival of Iris's brother Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale), whom Francine West (Vanessa A. Williams) gave birth to shortly after abandoning her family. The metahuman cure is finally finished and Team Flash decides that King Shark would be the ideal subject to test it on. The team travels to A.R.G.U.S. and requests of Lyla to get in contact with King Shark, who aggressively attacks the team under the mind-control of Gorilla Grodd. Barry reacts by injecting the cure into King Shark, turning him back into his human form - Shay Lamden. Back at S.T.A.R. Labs, Caitlin discovers that although the cure worked, there is still dark matter in Shay's pituitary gland and his body rapidly changes back and forth between his human and shark forms. Shay's wife, of Earth-1, Tanya, is convinced by Sherloque to talk with Shay. Later, Grodd mind-controls Cisco and Caitlin to steal Dr. Lamden's telepathy-crown to amplify his powers so he can control all of Central City. Seeing no other option and wanting to make amends for his crimes as King Shark, Shay gives up his chance of being human to help Team Flash stop Grodd; even in spite of the possibility of never being human again. Meanwhile, Joe returns home to Cecile and trains Iris to overcome Cicada who Barry suggests they offer the cure to instead of forcing it on him.
I didn't know what to expect, but it certainly was more than that! Thank god for feedback!!!! Cisco, Caitlin and Barry argue over cure rights. Sherloque plays marriage counsler. The Flash is finally back from a small break and Dpalm & Kriss are here to pick right back up with the review. This was a fun episode. Clearly the show has been working on it's CG cause an episode had both King Shark and Gorilla Grodd looking pretty good. Also, as a bit of a tangent, the epic meeting between these two gets Kriss & Dpalm to talk about their VERY RATIONAL fear of bears...aka land sharks. Other things we liked in this episode: Welcome back Jesse L Martin Of course the "Meta-Cure" was used against someone's will. We're X-Men fans. We know how this turns out What's up with Sherloque acting weird when the team mentions Harry from Earth-2? Also we talk about the news of Arrow coming to an end next season with a 10 episode run and how much they've earned a proper send off. Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month. Barry takes the meta cure into the Speed Force to help speed up the synthesizing process by using tachyons as a catalyst, leaving an upset Nora behind. Elsewhere, Iris gets kidnapped, but she manages to alert Nora and Caitlin to her location. They arrive, but Cicada kills Caitlin; further distressing Nora to the point where she runs so fast, she goes back in time. Here, in this alternate timeline, Cicada kidnaps Ralph instead, and though the situation plays out somewhat the same as the last time, Ralph is killed. Nora resets time again, which causes Sherloque to become suspicious of her, but this leads to Cicada kidnapping him. Nora goes in alone this time, only to learn that Cisco was killed. She repeatedly tries again, but someone on Team Flash always gets killed each time. Before her final attempt, Cisco reveals what she's done, so she confesses and storms off. Cisco consoles her, and together with the rest of the team, works on a new plan to stop Cicada. This time, they make it so that Cicada stabs himself with his dagger, forcing him to flee. Barry returns, and after learning what Nora's done, warns her against messing with time any further. Back in 2049, Nora visits Thawne for reassurance that their plan is not making things worse. He convinces Nora to follow through with the plan to defeat Cicada and destroy his dagger, while assuring her that afterwards, they will save her father.
Get "Goldfaced" with Flash and the Elongated Man as they track down some new tech that will help them stop Cicada. This generator is in the possession of a very dangerous gangster named Goldface. The only way for our heroes to get it is to pose as bad guys themselves. But Goldface is smart and uses power dampeners to prevent them from getting the job done quickly. Keeping up the charade, they have to work for the big bad boss and find some way to still be heroes. Nora tries to get Sherloque off her trail by manipulating him into running into the Earth-1 version of his ex-wives. It works well too, after she convinces him he can have love too. And Iris puts herself in real danger when she finds Orlin and gets caught in the process. Jay and Josh are the men with the golden touch on this week's episode of Scarlet Velocity: A Flash Podcast!

Collect the "Memorabilia" and you come with me, leave yesterday behind, and take a giant step inside the mind. Thanks to Sherloque's new Memory Machine, the team prepares to go inside the memories of Cicada' niece Grace to wake her up. But Nora realizes that the secrets she's been keeping are in danger of being exposed so she decides to risk going in by herself. She soon realizes that it was a mistake as her exit closes and Grace holds the same hatred of metas that her uncle has. Barry and Iris rush in to save her, but get derailed into Nora's memories instead. But when Iris sees the anger that goes along with her daughter's experiences of her father's death, she wonders if she can ever really be a good parent. Jay and Josh brainstorm the inception of a wild dreamscape on this week's episode of Scarlet Velocity: A Flash Podcast!
The team plan to try and wake Grace up, thus preventing Cicada from killing anyone else. Sherloque proposes a method in which they can enter Grace's memories and thus attempt to wake her up from there, however, Nora preemptively enters Grace's memories and attempts to help her wake up, on her own. Barry and Iris discover that Nora has entered Grace's mind and attempt to follow, but end up in Nora's memories where they discover STAR Labs has been turned into the Flash Museum. They are pursued by a memory of the Reverse Flash, before encountering a memory of Nora and Iris bonding, which they use to exit Nora's memories. Nora attempts to wake Grace, but Nora discovers to her horror that Grace shares her uncle's anti-meta views and knows the only person that can help her is Cicada, who attacks Nora before Barry and Iris save her and exit Grace's mind. Caitlin reveals that a satellite shard loaded with Dark Matter is lodged in Grace's brain and is creating a barrier meaning they can't re-enter Grace’s mind. Meanwhile, Iris starts the Central City Citizen, which Nora reveals was originally founded in 2021, meaning Iris is changing the future. Finally, Cisco makes some headway on the meta cure, which Barry decides to use on Cicada.
The West-Allen family grow closer as a secret looms. Iris still grapples with her possible future while opening new possibilities with her blog. Nora lives up to her nickname. The Flash does a few things this week that give promise for the rest of the season. First, outside of the show, an explanation was given to why Grant wasn't in episode 10 a lot (he was on another set shooting for the Crossover). Giving the explanation plus taking Nora off the board this week shows a little bit better planning than in previous seasons. Also, the use of Officer Jones, a character that's been in the background since last season and we never even really knew his name, also helps create a world that feels more lived in. It was a nice callback and use of an existing character for a larger purpose. We also really like the use of Killer Frost and her issues with Caitlin helping Cisco with the cure. The differences between Ralph's detective skills and Sherloque's allow for both characters to fill a void but not feel repetitive. And finally, we were worried that last week's episode with more on Thawne would make Cicada feel pointless but the show is still keeping him interesting (well, more deadly than anything else) and we appreciate it. https://oembed.libsyn.com/embed?item_id=8378822 Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month. Sometimes "What's Past is Prologue" if you have the ability to time travel. The team tries to find a way to stop Cicada from murdering Metahumans, but the only viable solution seems to be one proposed by Nora. Go to the past, collect items that they can use to neutralize the dark-matter-infused knife that Cicada uses for his powers. It takes a little convincing, but Barry even agrees to let Nora go along with him on this scavenger hunt through time. The first stop is the final battle with Savitar to get a shard from his suit. From there, they must get a transmitter used by Zoom, and finally they need it all affected by the original particle accelerator explosion. Sounds easier than it is, and of course things begin to go wrong. So much that they even have to use an Eobard Thawne from the past to help out. Eventually, they do find their way back, and when they confront the big bad, he proves to be a little trickier than they had hoped. And to top things off, Sherloque is discovering some secrets that Nora is keeping that will likely affect the team significantly in the near future. Jay and Josh take you away, you won't mind, and we promise you, you'll be back in time, on this week's episode of Scarlet Velocity: A Flash Podcast!
The team attempt to discover Cicada's identity by visiting his niece in the hospital. Barry and Nora attempt to stop a lightning disaster, but Barry is struck and almost dies before Nora is able to restart his heart. Worried about the future, Nora tells Barry that one way to ensure he never disappears is to quit being the Flash now. The team encounters Joss Mardon, the daughter of Mark Mardon, who has a similar staff that she uses to control the weather. Barry and Nora try to confront her, with Iris using a hologram to simulate Mardon being there, but Joss tries to kill him for being neglectful. Eventually, Joss tries to attack an airport and creates a lightning tornado. Nora brings Barry Mardon's wand which Barry uses to absorb Joss' lightning and subdue her. Meanwhile, Caitlin, Cisco and Sherloque choose not to join the West Allens for Thanksgiving, before being convinced to join by Killer Frost. Finally, Team Flash discovers Cicada's identity by viewing hospital security tapes of him visiting his niece.
Beware, for "The Icicle Cometh". Now that Cisco has the satellites up and running, they can finally track down Cicada. Plus, they might be able to find Caitlin's dad too. Caitlin, Barry, and Cisco take a trip to the North Pole and discover the long lost Thomas Snow, who has been trapped for years while he tried to cure himself. But when they bring him back to STAR Labs, Cisco is a little suspicious. Meanwhile the rest of the team looks for the core of the satellite. In addition, Sherloque brings Nora and Iris closer together, and Ralph helps Cecile get her mojo back. And that's good, because Thomas proves to be dangerous as his evil Icicle persona comes frozen to the surface. Jay and Josh enjoy absolute zero snow cones on this week's episode of Scarlet Velocity: A Flash Podcast!
Barry, Cisco, and Caitlin find her father Thomas and take him to Star Labs. Meanwhile, Ralph and Cecile continue their investigation on Cicada's identity by looking into a FEMA camp set up after the satellite exploded. Sherloque, Iris and Nora choose another route by looking for the satellite’s core. Caitlin and Thomas go on a walk to reconnect but are interrupted when Thomas faints and his arm starts turning into ice. Caitlin takes her father back to Star Labs where he reveals to her the origin of her powers. Cisco, suspicious of Caitlin’s father’s story, teleports back to Thomas' base where he discovers evidence that Thomas isn't Caitlin's real father. Caitlin refuses to believe Cisco until she sees the truth about her father with her own eyes when Thomas’ alter ego "Icicle" takes over. Just as Team Flash confront Thomas, Killer Frost returns and defeats Icicle. FInally, it is revealed that DeVoe used Dominic Lanse/Brainstorm's powers to mentally block Caitlin from summoning Killer Frost, while Cicada, despite his previous injuries, reveals the wound he received from the satellite is making him stronger.
Come get "All Doll'd Up" to witness the crimes of the contortionist Rag Doll. Peter Merkel has some grudges that he's going to settle with his new meta abilities. Iris decides to pursue this case with enough vigor to help her forget about the problems with Nora. She is still giving her parents the cold shoulder after their argument. And when Iris realizes that her future parenting skills have caused this tension, she begins to compare herself to her own mother. Nora tries her best to brood about it, but Cecile won't let her show that kind of disrespect to her mother. So she very wily gets her to see all the good in Iris. Sherloque, Ralph, and Cisco continue to help Caitlin find her father, but Cisco's wounds are still causing big problems with his vibe abilities and he's worried that he may no longer be able to contribute to the team. But when Rag Doll gets the drop on Barry, everyone has to show their true worth and reveal that everyone has what it takes to save the day. Jay and Josh try to reach that itch in the middle of their back but just don't seem to have enough dark matter in them on this week's episode of Scarlet Velocity: A Flash Podcast!
"News Flash", you can get a lot of hits on a blog if your cell phone has been imbued with dark matter. That's what Spencer Young is doing to become one of the most popular writers in Central City. She gets the jump on everyone with the big stories, because she controls people's minds to create the big stories. Nora won't hear about it though. She's enamored with Spencer's blog, and doesn't want to listen to Iris when she says they need to stop her. And when XS herself gets whammied, Iris takes the lead and knocks her out. That brings up an interesting issue the mother and daughter have had in the past...well, future. Sherloque reluctantly follows Ralph in his quest for clues about Cicada's identity and is shocked when he actually turns some up. It all could be connected when the team realizes that their latest threat turns out to be newly created Meta-Tech that anyone can take advantage of. Jay and Josh anxiously count the hits of their latest blog on this week's episode of Scarlet Velocity: A Flash Podcast!
On this week's The Flash Podcast, Andy Behbakht. Tatiana Hullender, and Swara Salih get together to review the fourth episode of Season 5, titled “News Flash.” As the team encounters a new villainous meta, Spin, the tension gets worse when Nora reveals to Iris what happens between the two West-Allen women in the future. While that's going on, Ralph and Sherloque team-up to gather new clues about Cicada. Throughout the discussion, they also read listener feedback and emails about "News Flash." We finally get to the bottom of Nora's beef with Iris. Ralph and Sherloque team up to make a new discovery about Cicada and hosts Drew Jones, Chauncey K. Robinson, and Zach Silverman discuss the upcoming 100th episode. The team recruits Harrison Sherloque Wells to help them catch Cicada, who Nora reveals is unstoppable in the future. Caitlin and Ralph confront Caitlin's mother, who denies forging her husband's death certificate. Sherloque pinpoints Cicada as David Hersch, but is proven to be wrong when Cicada attacks Joe, looking for Vibe. He reveals that on 37 other Earths, Cicada has the identity of Hersch. As a result of Nora's tampering with the timeline, however, his identity on Earth-1 is different. Additionally, his reign of terror has begun earlier than expected. Caitlin and Ralph break into her mother's files, where they find a suicide note from her father. After Cisco shows up, Cicada stabs him, breaking his arm. Barry arrives, but is easily defeated. After Nora enacts her plan to drive Cicada off, it seems as if Cisco has been killed. It is revealed that Cisco used a breach machine instead of his hands to escape. With the public and Cicada believing that Vibe is dead, Sherloque agrees to stay and help the team fight off the dangerous meta. Caitlin traces a message and realizes that her father, Thomas Snow, is asking her to come looking for him. A mysterious individual watches her through the STAR Labs security cameras. Cicada is revealed to be a father of a daughter who is in a coma and not healing. Nora agrees to stay with her parents, despite her seemingly strained relationship with Iris. Sherloque begins to suspect that Nora is not in 2018 for the reasons she says she is.

On the villain front, Diaz will resurface as “more of the Dragon” comic book character he's based on, while the Longbow Hunters — an almost mythical band of assassins — will prove they are “in fact quite real.” As for Colton Haynes' return as a series regular, Schwartz will only affirm that he is “definitely” playing the Earth-One Roy Harper that we know and Thea loves (loved?). BONUS SPOILER!: Know how we previously reported that Felicity is coping the worst in the wake of Oliver's imprisonment? Well, guess who is faring the best? “I would say Laurel,” Schwartz shares, confirming that the team's Earth-Two frenemy is now Star City's DA. https://tvline.com/gallery/fall-tv-2018-season-premiere-spoilers/#!2/undefined/ GENERAL DC NEWS: Fall TV Spoilers 2018: Scoop on 40 Returning Favorites (Date: 06 Sept 2018) DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Yep, in vanquishing Mallus, the Legends did what they do best — “created a new problem,” says EP Keto Shimizu — by opening our world to hobgoblins from “a broad spectrum” of “myth, legend and fairy tale,” and now the mission is to “hunt 'em down and bag 'em up!” Alas, this new wrinkle arrives just as Sara is “finally starting to have a life” (with girlfriend Ava included), Caity Lotz notes, “and all of that gets jeopardized pretty quickly.” And though Amaya bid the team adieu in the finale, Maisie Richardson-Sellers is back as “a mythical fugitive” who will keep the Legends guessing as to whether she is friend or fiend. Similarly, now that Courtney Ford is a series regular, Nora Dahrk is poised to segue into a “complicated ally.” Lastly, with Nate parked in 2018 to tend to a “very real story” involving his dad (Back to the Future's Tom Wilson), that frees up a bunk for Constantine. And free he will be! “He doesn't like to wear a lot of clothing going to and from the shower…,” EP Phil Klemmer previews. BONUS SPOILER!: A former Legend will be returning in an unexpected form to try and kill the team. https://tvline.com/gallery/fall-tv-2018-season-premiere-spoilers/#!12/the-virgin-gary/ Fall TV Spoilers 2018: Scoop on 40 Returning Favorites (Date: 06 Sept 2018) THE FLASH New Big Bad Cicada (American Pie‘s Chris Klein) isn't too concerned with the Scarlet Speedster – “His endgame isn't about The Flash. It's more of a bigger-scale issue,” executive producer Todd Helbing notes – but he will impact Barry & Co. “A big part of the story of this season [is about] the metas, where they got their powers from, and it's tied into everybody's journey this year,” the EP shares. “Cicada's powers are different than DeVoe's [and] any of the speedsters in the way they affect our team.” Elsewhere, Nora's presence “starts to have a little strain” on her parents' relationship. “Iris and Barry become second to Mom and Dad,” Helbing explains. Meanwhile, Cisco is having a difficult time getting over his break-up with Gypsy, Caitlin searches for her Killer Frost origins and Ralph struggles to earn the respect of the city as a superhero. BONUS SPOILER!: The newest Wells, Sherloque, is “a master detective from a different earth,” Helbing describes, “and he's come to help [the team] track down Cicada. He's pretty awesome at his job, and Ralph doesn't take too kindly to somebody that has skills that may or may not be better than his.” Plus, Sherloque will get a lady love! https://tvline.com/gallery/fall-tv-2018-season-premiere-spoilers/#!15/undefined/ NEXT EPISODE Link to Promo: (Date: 12 March 2018) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bG-fF3pbimA Episode: “Necromancing the Stone” [Season 3 Episode 15] Air Date: Monday, March 19, 2018 Summary: When Mallus' power over Sara resurfaces, she unwittingly becomes the bearer of one of the Totems.
