Xbox can't help itself; it finds rakes out of nowhere to step on, and its all self-inflicted. There won't be any trips in the Tardis anytime soon, and who is to blame? George Miller wants to sell Mad Max, but why? And Fox buys Roku, which feels oddly familiar.

Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for December 29, 2025 is: nefarious nih-FAIR-ee-us adjective Nefarious is a formal word that describes something as evil or immoral. // Authorities suspect that the recovered materials were going to be used for nefarious purposes. See the entry > Examples: “Introducing characters like Gorilla Grodd on DC Crime would help familiarize audiences with these figures before they potentially receive an expanded role in another project. Perhaps each season could focus on a different villain, highlighting their nefarious actions.” — Chris Agar, comicbook.com, 16 Nov. 2025 Did you know? If you need a fancy word to describe someone who's up to no good, nefarious has got you (and them) covered. It's also handy for characterizing the “no good” such a dastardly devil gets up to, as in “a nefarious business/plot/deed.” Nefarious is most often used for someone or something that is flagrantly wicked or corrupt—it's more applicable to the mustache-twirling supervillain than the morally gray antihero. In other words, there's no question that a nefarious scheme, or schemer, is not right. Etymologically, this makes perfect sense: nefarious can be traced back to the Latin noun nefas, meaning “crime,” which in turn combines ne- (“not”) and fas, meaning “right” or “divine law.” It is one of very few English words with this root, accompanied only by the likes of nefariousness and the thoroughly obscure nefast (“wicked”).

Today on the podcast Michael and a very coughy Jong are joined by an og of Comicast lore, David Ramon (longtime listeners may remember the highly touted segment David Does Comics). David jumps on with the guys to discuss the news that Skylar Gisondo will be leading a Jimmy Olsen spinoff series. What do the guys think? What type of tone can we expect now that we know who the creators of the show will be? Is this a TV-MA or TV-14 situation? How does Gorilla Grodd fit into this? The guys answer those questions and more! The trio also dicuss The Wrap's report that Brainiac will be the villain that forces Luthor and Superman to team up, James Gunn saying that Darkseid isn't the big bad, and finally, who's taking up the mantle in future Black Panther films now that Ryan Coogler confirms that he's working on Black Panther 3. Get to the choppa, cause its time for a review of the newest Predator movie, Predator Badlands. It does not disappoint. Also, Sony has buyers remorse about Bungie, and somehow Amazon has forgotten that James Bond has had a history of reboots. and someone call MU/TH/UR because Alien Earth is coming back!
Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesThough Disney and Marvel Studios have remained tight-lipped and cagey concerning details around the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, the Internet, and a few reputable trades, have collectively discerned that we apparently “know when the Avengers: Doomsday trailer is coming.” The prognosticators have deytermined the trailer will be attached to December's Avatar: Fire & Ash – big news, if true! Another unconfirmed, but believable rumor that has taken the Internet by storm concerns Marvel TV's Wonder Man series and its episode run times, which places the longest episode at 34 minutes and the shortest at 23 including credits. Per The Hollywood Reporter, DC Studios has greenlit a Superman spinoff series focusing on standout Skyler Gisondo's Jimmy Olsen and coming to us from Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda, the creators of Netflix's award-winning mockumentary American Vandal. The series is said to focus on Olsen and other Daily Planet reporters, (though Lois Lane and Clark Kent were conspicuously excluded,) as he tackles cases involving superpowered villains, with Season One featuring Flash rogue Gorilla Grodd as a big bad. Predator Badlands was the apex, ahem, predator at the box office last weekend debuting to $40 million domestically and doubling the haul internationally at $80 million worldwide. The film outperformed expectations, representing a much-needed shot of adrenaline in what has been a lethargic Fall box office, while also putting up bests for the franchise; beating out 2004's Alien Vs Predator and 2018's The Predator in the domestic and global arenas, respectively.Blue Beetle and Cobra Kai star Xolo Maridueña has been cast in season 3 of Netflix's One Piece and will play the character Portgas D. Ace.Jennifer Lawrence recently revealed that she and Emma Stone are developing a movie about the iconic Muppet Miss Piggy with Oh, Mary! writer and Tony winner Cole Escola penning the script, marking the character's first solo outing siynce Jim Henson debuted her on The Muppet Show in 1976.Netflix and Sony have finalized a deal for another “KPop Demon Hunters” movie, with plans to release the animated musical sequel in 2029.Lionsgate has released the first trailer for Michael Jackson biopic 'Michael' starring Jaafar Jackson, the nephew of the late pop icon. The film from director Antoine Fuqua is set to hit theaters on April 24, 2026, after its release was delayed several times.Prime Video announced that season two of The Night Manager, starring Tom Hiddleston, will premiere on January 11. The second season comes back to Prime ten years after the first season debuted. Warner Brothers has set a release date for the next film in The Gremlins franchise of November 19th 2027. Steven Spielberg is returning to executive produce “Gremlins 3” while “Harry Potter” filmmaker Chris Columbus is set to direct and produce. Disney has released the first official trailer for season 2 of Percy Jackson and The Olympians, which begins streaming on December 10th. In gaming news, Skydance Games is once again pushing the release for the much-anticipated “Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra” video game from May 2026 to November 2026. Rockstar Games also announced that they would be delaying Grand Theft Auto 6 once again, this time from May 2026 to November 2026 as well. Ryan Reynolds and Amazon MGM have teamed up to develop a remake of Thunderbolt & Lightfoot, a 1974 action comedy that starred Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges. Reynolds is eyeing to star in the adaptation and is also collaborating on the script with writers Enzo Mileti and Scott Wilson, a writing team who worked on season four of comedic crime show Fargo. Shane Reid, who edited Reynolds' Deadpool & Wolverine, will make his directorial debut with the project.

The Justice League verses the Secret Society, who will win? The group that works together the best. Gorilla Grodd has gathered The Shade, Giganta, Killer Frost, Sinestro, and Clayface. Grodd has been working his mental control abilities on the League for months, messing with their emotions and making them feel stressed around each other. Watching the cracks form, he takes his Society and attacks when they're vulnerable, proving they can be beaten. He is not content to let them walk away privately. He wants to end them publicly. So, he sets a trap and captures all of them except Green Lantern. John, in tracking them back to the cave, tries to step in to free his team, and puts up a good fight, but is ultimately captured. At a Gotham Knights football game half-time show, the Society crashes the party. They are going to publicly execute the League. But Martian Manhunter has been impersonating Clayface. He frees the team and they finally begin to work together and cover for each other. They defeat the Society and agree to apologize to each other and move on together...or so it seems. The Waverider uses all its' power as Gideon flies us to Vietnam in 1967 and a different earth. In these two eps, we learn more about Mick's backstory, check in on a villain we love, and actively help in the crossover event. "Welcome To The Jungle" - The Legends head to Vietnam in 1967 chasing an anachronism that turns out to be Gorilla Grodd. Sara is still out for the count, so the team has to step up to solve the issue without her. Rory encounters his dad and tries to help him change for the better. We learn that Mick's dad's experiences in Vietnam led to abuse of Mick and his mom. The team must fight Grodd and protect President Johnson. Jax & Stein continue their road to try and break up Firestorm. "Crisis On Earth-X Part 4" - There are many times when our team does not play a part in the crossover, or the part is small. This year was different. We played a vital role. It was so vital that we lost Doctor Stein and Firestorm in the process. The team of heroes from our universe must give their all to stop the Nazis and the Evil versions of our team. There is much danger and peril, as well as a reunion with old friends in the form of doppelgangers. In the end, the Nazis are defeated. We mourn Stein's loss and celebrate Barry & Iris and Oliver & Felicity's marriages. After celebrating their landmark 250th episode, the Good Brothers are right back to work reviewing "Secret Society Part I & II" which is a Season 2 Justice League episode that features another iteration of villains determined to take down the Justice League. The hosts talk a plot that features dissension in the ranks of the League, but are quick to point out the lack of set up and follow up for the premise. Also discussed is the incredible and nearly non-stop action in both parts balanced with the rather off-model characters in the downbeats. Wrapping up the episode, Cal & Liam talk about the Michael McCuistion composed soundtrack and a notable breakdown of Powers Boothe's unforgettable unhinged speeches as Gorilla Grodd. We all know Tarzan being raised by ape was inevitable, but what if different ape?? Confused by the theory of evolution, the boys become wary of making apes too clever and get scared by what comes next. Zammit puts forward Bigfoot with their skills of hide and seek, Jackson suggests the Wifeless Wonder himself, Gorilla Grodd and his need for a human to be the face of his criminal empire while JD looks at the coconut throwing jewel thief that is Dunston from Dunston Checks In and how that orangutan cannot handle any form of criticism. But be it Bigfoot, Gorilla Grodd or Dunston we should all be thankful that Tarzan wasn't raised by the worst real ape: mandrill. A horrible and nasty creature. Loathed by all and the closest we have on god's green earth that resembles a xenomorph. If all dogs go to heaven, every mandrills goes to hell, where they flourish. We're talking DC Comics Justice by Jim Krueger, Alex Ross and Doug Braithwaite on this week's new episode of Comics and Chronic! Is this comic an instant classic? Which one of us has a barely disguised foot fetish? Is Alex Ross our favorite artist? Does this comic feel like an episode of the Super Friends? What lengths would Jake go in order to get a power ring from Gorilla Grodd? Would we take the villains offer and join their utopian cities? Would Cody make a good Aquaman? Would Anthony be Oliver Queen aka Green Arrow? Did Cody sleep on Shazam? Why does DC Comics always disrespect Martian Manhunter? Would we like the comic without Alex Ross' art? We are 2/3 of the way through the Disney+ Moon Knight series and we've got thoughts...lots and lots of thoughts. Why do we have so many thoughts about Moon Knight. Maybe we should spend a whole show on just that. This, however, is not that show. Instead, we talk about things like: Kansas City's Planet ComiCon house painting sooo many shades of white our desire to have Donald Westlake (RIP) write Moon Knight television shows designed to fill the nation's Raider of the Lost Ark gap in the early 80s Seagram's Golden Wine Coolers Bruce's idea for the TFL Doctor Who Better Call Saul Steve's addiction to Star Trek ship porn We also unbox a cool Gorilla Grodd that Stephe sent to Bruce And, of course, we check in with Connor for an updated count. I feel like we need a tote board. Enjoy.

As children, summer time meant sleeping in and staying up late, going out into the world, looking for harmless mischief, reading stacks of comics and debating with your friends “who's the coolest primate character, The Mandrill, Gleek, Cy-Gor, Detective Chimp, or Gorilla Grodd?” Summer time as a kid was a blast!
