In episodes 13 and 14 of Season 1 of Star Trek Discovery, things get complicated; things get *very* complicated... Evil Lorca, who is the only Lorca we ever knew, makes a renewed attempt at his coup of the fascistic Terran Empire. Michael is conflicted about stopping him which will save Evil Georgiou, the Emperor. Ash Tyler is no longer a Klingon sleeper-agent, but he’s not quite human either. There is war in the Mirror Universe, there is war in the “prime” Universe – and everyone is sorta at war with themselves. There is only one episode left in the season: will it end in complete and utter annihilation?! ARGGGGH!

Jobob, Warden, and Willy break down their impressions of the thirteenth episode of season one of Star Trek: Discovery: "What's Past is Prologue".Disappointment abounds! Jobob & Willy are sad to learn that little of what they predicted came true and that what happened instead was indeed dumber that they could have imagined.Among other things they note the similarity of this other to other astroconflict IP; express confusion and amusement at emergency trainsporting; remark further on how anachronistic the technology of Discovery is; discuss how broken the mycelial network is; and say farewell to a favorite.STAR TREK: PICARD SPOILERS!

It's the 100th episode and it didn't disappoint! Barry and Nora take a trip down villain lane. Cicada is still around, and Nora dear, whatever did you do?
Sometimes "What's Past is Prologue" if you have the ability to time travel. The team tries to find a way to stop Cicada from murdering Metahumans, but the only viable solution seems to be one proposed by Nora. Go to the past, collect items that they can use to neutralize the dark-matter-infused knife that Cicada uses for his powers. It takes a little convincing, but Barry even agrees to let Nora go along with him on this scavenger hunt through time. The first stop is the final battle with Savitar to get a shard from his suit. From there, they must get a transmitter used by Zoom, and finally they need it all affected by the original particle accelerator explosion. Sounds easier than it is, and of course things begin to go wrong. So much that they even have to use an Eobard Thawne from the past to help out. Eventually, they do find their way back, and when they confront the big bad, he proves to be a little trickier than they had hoped. And to top things off, Sherloque is discovering some secrets that Nora is keeping that will likely affect the team significantly in the near future. Jay and Josh take you away, you won't mind, and we promise you, you'll be back in time, on this week's episode of Scarlet Velocity: A Flash Podcast!
Barry Allen and his daughter Nora travel back in time in order to "gather some key necessities" to stop Cicada. Their first stop takes them to Barry's final battle against Savitar, but they are pursued by a Time Wraith. Barry tells Nora to get a piece of Savitar's armour when it is destroyed, while he distracts the Time Wraith. Nora sees the armour get destroyed and retrieves a piece of it, but also sees Iris shoot Savitar Barry. They travel next to when Zoom steals Barry's speed to retrieve the necessary technology to process it. Harry Wells almost destroys the tech in frustration, but Barry manages to distract him, suggesting that they can find his daughter by tracking her frequency. Zoom discovers Barry and Nora, and gives chase before he is stopped by the Time Wraith, however the tech is damaged. Barry and Nora end up on the day that Barry previously travelled to, and ask HGEobard to help fix the tech, reminding him that if he doesn't, events won't go correctly and he will never get home. HGEobard fixes the tech and Barry and Nora make their final jump to the night of the Particle Accelerator explosion, avoiding security and lab workers to access the Time Vault. Barry asks Gideon to reroute part of the Dark Matter through the shard and technology. When Nora asks why Barry hates Eobard Thawne, Barry reveals that Eobard killed his mother when he was 11. They are able to gain the power they needed and travel to the hospital, hiding the tech in the brickwork, before returning to the present. Nora decides to return to 2049, where she goes to Iron Heights to confront Eobard Thawne.
On this week's episode of The Flash Podcast, Andy Behbakht. Andrew Dyce, Tatiana Hullender, and Swara Salih are joined by former TFP host Lauren Gallaway as the gang discuss the 100th episode of The Flash, titled "What's Past Is Prologue"! As the team attempts on a new plan to stop Cicada; Barry and Nora go back in time to collect key necessities. But the journey comes with its own surprises for Nora as she discovers new things about her father that she didn't learn at the Flash Museum. Throughout the discussion, they also read listener feedback and emails about the 100th episode. That and more on this week's episode of The Flash Podcast! Judging from passionate online discussions, Vaulting Ambition's bombshell Lorca twist proved a polarizing creative decision. But was it, at the very least, all for the greater good of the Mirror Universe arc? This week hosts Cam Smith and Tyler Orton, along with special guest Penny Daflos, don leatherjackets and wield sharp swords while debating the ramifications of this week's explosive, series-altering episode, What's Past is Prologue. Over the course of a fun hour-long conversation the trio determine whether they'd rather be ruled by Lorca or Emperor Georgiou, ponder how satisfying these two key characters' journeys have been, and cast their gaze towards a future where Saru proudly sits in the big chair. Plus, unlikely connections to He-Man and the Fast & the Furious franchise are made.Right-click to download.Read more »

We are not happy at all about what happened to a certain captain from the Mirror Universe! Zach points out how this episode felt almost robotic in how it moved us from Point A to Point B, but skipped over some of the most interesting bits, like the fate of the Mirror Buran. David suggests two small changes which could have radically improved the two new problems introduced and solved in this episode. Also, we made a lot of references to Stranger Things throughout this one (minor season 1 spoilers).
Chris and Tyler recap an action-packed end to the Discovery's Mirror Universe saga and try to figure out where the plot will go from here, all while lamenting the fate of our Mirror friends.

In this week's episode, Ebony reveals that a significant portion of her enjoyment of DISCO springs from the knowledge that Anita is somewhere suffering through all the gaping plot holes, ill-conceived mayhem, and occasionally terrible set design. In this episode, all the glory that is patch 7.3.5 is discussed, speculation on the future runs rampant, and Berzerker rages on legendaries!
Diana and Becky discuss the importance of keeping our pasts in perspective. The title of our episode comes from William Shakespeare’s The Tempest. We all were sea-swallow’d, though some cast again, And by that destiny to perform an act Whereof what’s past is prologue, what to come In yours and my discharge. The Tempest, act II, scene i, lines 248–54. Antonio is speaking. We can’t move forward while hanging on to the past. “Before you grab onto the future, make sure you let go of the past.” – a Hallmark Christmas movie that Diana watched. The past is how we got here, how we deal with it is how we go forward. We can structure our future by structuring what comes before it – our plans. Our past sets up our future. The past isn’t the beginning or the end; it’s the middle.
What's Past Is Prologue. Nostalgia is perhaps one of the most powerful forces that influences our lives. The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary’s second definition of Nostalgia describes it as being “a wistful or excessively sentimental yearning for return to or of some past period or irrecoverable condition; also: something that evokes Nostalgia.” In today’s world of recycled Hollywood content, reboots, refreshes and retellings - has the entertainment industry created a rift in Star Trek fandom, to the point where preserving the "glory days" is the only way for some fans to move forward? In this episode of Standard Orbit, hosts Norman C. Lao and Jeffrey Harlan are joined by Portal 47’s Larry Nemecek and Mission Log’s John Champion. They take a deep and concerned look at the power of Nostalgia and its undeniable influence over fandom's appreciation for Star Trek; specifically The Original Series, and share their observations towards Nostalgia as it continues to influence the interpretation of perhaps the greatest of Star Trek's tenants: IDIC - Infinite Diversity through Infinite Combinations. "And by that destiny to perform an act / Whereof what’s past is prologue, what to come / In yours and my discharge." (The Tempest, 2.1.288) Shakespeare's words and stories may be timeless, but what does that mean when you stage his plays for a modern American audience? That's a challenge that artistic directors relish as they explore the plays' many possibilities. This podcast looks at some of the ingenious approaches they’ve come up with, as well as the thinking behind them. "What's Past Is Prologue" features the voices of artistic directors from Oregon to Minneapolis to Washington, DC.
