Mais uma daquelas edições de campeão do podcast. Se na edição passada falamos da virada do Franca e o tetra campeonato, nesta vamos falar de campeonatos regionais da Europa, mas, claro, principalmente da NBA. Em terras brasileiras, temos a seleção feminina jogando contra o Canadá em amistoso, em dia de desafio das estrelas, e se dando muito bem. Ótima vitória do Brasil, que já da um gás extra para a AmericupW. Passar da primeira fase não deve ser difícil, mas tem de jogar direitinho, entrosar e tentar fugir das americanas até a final. Já na Copa do Mundo de 3 x 3 a coisa não foi tão bem para o Brasil não. Com apenas uma vitória, em cima da Ucrânia, a seleção ficou de fora da segunda fase do campeonato que esta acontecendo na Mongólia. Pareceu uma experiência válida, levando quatro meninas que vão muito bem em seus clubes na LBF, como a Gabi Guimarães e Sossô. No masculino, a surpresa ficou com a confirmação da volta do Felício para a temporada 25-26 da NBB, jogando pelo Franca. Tivemos também a premiação com os melhores da temporada e com o Minas, líder da regular e vice campeão, sobrou apenas um prêmio. O MVP ficou com o Brite, que fez uma segunda parte da temporada espetacular. Para fechar, falamos um pouco do começo da LDB. Na Europa tivemos uma ótima surpresa, o Paris Basketball foi o campeão do campeonato francês para coroar um ano incrível do time e do primeiro ano como técnico principal do Tiago Splitter. Pena que ele está de saída, voltando como assistente na NBA. Mas nada como fechar com chave de ouro. Na liga espanhola deu o óbvio, Real Madrid campeão mais uma vez, desta vez em cima do Valência. E o Valência é mais um que estará na Euroleague do ano que vem, acompanhado do Hapoel Tel Aviv, time do Caboclo (será que eu deveria dizer por enquanto?) e de, aparentemente, uma superestrela: Russel Westbrooke!!! Se tudo estiver certo no que foi noticiado, ele fechou por três anos e 150 milhões! O que esta acontecendo??? E claro, o prato principal da noite ficou para o fim, a NBA! Temos um novo campeão. E claro, com Pacers e OKC na final, só poderia ser um campeão inédito mesmo. E o jogo já começou com um acontecimento. Haliburton havia metido 3 das 4 bolas de três que havia tentado, mas acabou estourando o Aquiles. Com a lesão na panturrilha que ele estava arrastando havia alguns jogos, acabava forçando demais o tendão e não é raro isso acontecer. Agora a próxima temporada quase toda deve ser perdida. Uma tristeza grande para o atleta, para a torcida, para quem gosta do esporte, mas principalmente, ali no momento, para o time. Ainda assim o Pacers conseguiu ir vencendo para o intervalo. Mas não foi o suficiente. Oklahoma se acertou em quadra, controlou melhor o segundo tempo e venceu. O melhor time da temporada regular foi campeão e o MVP da temporada foi o MVP das finais. Edição no frio, mas que chega quente! (Desculpe, não podia perder a oportunidade). Aqui nas terras brasileiras temos um novo campeão: O Osasco Basquete venceu 3 jogos seguidos, para virar a série em cima do Cruzeiro e ser campeão da Liga Ouro. Com o título vem a vaga para NBB no ano que vem. Será incrível se o projeto conseguir participar. Mas para além da Liga Ouro, chegamos nas finais da NBB com dois ótimos jogos. No primeiro o Franca lutou até o fim, mas o Minas conseguiu abrir aquela margem de segurança e segurar, vencendo o primeiro jogo dentro do Pedrocão. No segundo, em Minas, a história foi diferente. Mais uma vez com ótimas partidas de Lucas Dias, Georginho e, especialmente, do Didi, o Franca ganhou com tranquilidade, empatando a série em 1 a 1. O próximo jogo ainda é em Minas e depois volta para Franca. Na LBF a temporada regular está acabando e o Corinthians fez dois jogos com vitórias acachapantes. Com isso entrou de vez na briga pelos primeiros lugares com o Sesi Araraquara e o Sampaio Basquete. Com o final da temporada chegando, sobrando só 6 partidas a disputar, as 8 primeiras que vão para os playoffs já estão decididas, faltando agora só acertar a posição entre elas. Na WNBA, a Commissioner's Cup continua rolando, e com queda de uma das invictas. O Lynx perdeu para o Seattle que se recupera bem de um começo um pouco estranho e tem 3 vitórias nos últimos 4 jogos. Quem vai mal das pernas é o Chicago Sky da nossa Kamilla. Ainda não deu para entender o porquê do encaixe do time parecer não funcionar este ano. Já na NBA, estamos na final cheia de reviravoltas. Quem esperava um domínio completo do OKC pode aproveitar 99% do primeiro jogo e 100% do segundo. OKC que vimos jogando nestes períodos convenceu e era o que esperávamos. O que não da para entender foi no resto do tempo. A facilidade que o Pacers se impôs no final do terceiro jogo não devia acontecer. Os principais jogadores do Thunder parecem se esconder no momento, enquanto até os coadjuvantes de Indiana crescem. O jeito como buscaram o jogo um trouxe bastante confiança, sem dúvida e, claro, eles jogam sem o peso de ter de vencer. Ninguém espera isso de Indiana neste momento, então, eles são franco atiradores. Mas será que só isso explica? Tem isso e muito mais notícias e afins para vocês no episódio de hoje. Pieaug Donalda Trampa administrācijas konfrontācija ar vairākām prominentām Savienoto Valstu augstskolām. Pagājušajās brīvdienās Ukraina piedzīvoja lielāko Krievijas uzlidojumu, kāds vien pieredzēts. Britu karaļpāris – karalis Čārlzs III un karaliene Kamilla – apmeklējis Kanādu. Aktualitātes ananlizē Austrumeiropas politikas pētījumu centra valdes loceklis, pētnieks Mārcis Balodis, Latvijas Radio Ziņu dienesta vadītājs, Ārpolitikas institūta pētnieks Uģis Lībietis. Universitātes, kā izsakās prezidents, esot viens vienīgs „marksistisku maniaku un plānprātiņu” perēklis. Konkrētie pārmetumi saistīti ar universitātēs pagājušajā gadā notikušajiem protestiem pret Izraēlas īstenoto karadarbību Gazas joslā, kurus valdība traktē kā antisemītiskus. Par pirmo uzbrukuma objektu kļuva Kolumbijas universitāte, kurai tika pārtraukts valdības līdzfinansējums apmēram 400 miljonu dolāru apmērā. Lai arī universitāte piekāpās varas prasībām, finansējums tā arī līdz šim nav atjaunots. Turpinājumā līdzīgu finansējuma pārtraukšanu piedzīvoja vēl vesela virkne augstskolu, starp kurām vairākas ir pasaules augstskolu reitingu pirmajā desmitniekā. Visnepakļāvīgākā izrādījās Hārvarda universitāte, kuras vadība pārsūdzēja tiesā valdības lēmumus par finanšu atņemšanu un atļaujas atsaukšanu ārzemju studentu uzņemšanai. Ārzemju studentu lietā tiesa valdības lēmumu pagaidām ir apturējusi, taču šonedēļ administrācija veica jaunu gājienu – Savienoto Valstu konsulāti visur pasaulē saņēma rīkojumu pārtraukt studentu un apmaiņas programmu vīzu pieteikumu pieņemšanu. Process tikšot atjaunots pēc tam, kad būšot ieviesta pretendentu tīmekļa aktivitāšu pārbaudes sistēma. Tikām plašumā vēršas spekulācijas par prezidenta Trampa līdzšinējā līdzgaitnieka Īlona Maska iespējamo attālināšanos no Baltā nama varas virsotnes. Pats Masks pagājušā mēneša nogalē paziņoja, ka krietni mazināšot savu darbošanos Valdības efektivitātes birojā, kura neformāls vadītājs viņš ir. Pirms dažām dienām viņš nāca klajā ar vēl vienu paziņojumu, proti – turpmāk viņš ziedošot daudz mazākas summas politiskajām kampaņām, nekā darījis līdz šim. Tās nav labas ziņas republikāņiem, kuru lielākais sponsors ir Masks. Tāpat daudzi ir ievērojuši, ka Maska vārds pēdējos pāris mēnešos ir tikpat kā pazudis gan no prezidenta Trampa, gan citu republikāņu sociālo tīklu ierakstiem. Tiek spriests par to, ka multimiljardiera reputācijas lejupslīde izraisījusi varas nesēju atsalšanu pret viņu. Savukārt pašam Maskam liela vilšanās droši vien bija nesen notikušās Viskonsīnas pavalsts Augstākās tiesas vēlēšanas, kurās viņš ieguldīja rekordlielu summu – trīs miljonus dolāru – tomēr republikāņu kandidāti cieta sakāvi. Ukraina – pagurusi, bet nepadevīga Pagājušajās brīvdienās Ukraina piedzīvoja lielāko Krievijas uzlidojumu, kāds vien pieredzēts. Naktī uz svētdienu, 25. maiju, Kremlis raidīja pret Kijivu un citām pilsētām pavisam 367 lidrobotus un raķetes, nogalinot vismaz divpadsmit cilvēkus, savukārt naktī uz pirmdienu – 355 lidrobotus un deviņas spārnotās raķetes, laupot dzīvību vēl sešiem. Beidzot skarbāki toņi Krievijas diktatora Putina sakarā ieskanējās arī Savienoto Valstu prezidenta Donalda Trampa sacītajā. „Kaut kas ir noticis ar Putinu! Viņš ir kļuvis pilnīgi traks!” paziņoja Trmps. Bet tūdaļ viņš nekavējās pārmest arī Ukrainas prezidentam Zelenskim, kurš pārāk asi esot pēlis Rietumus par bezdarbību. Šo Trampa teiktā daļu īpaši akcentējuši Krievijas mediji, savukārt viņa teikto par Krievijas vadoņa mentālo stāvokli Kremļa runasvīrs Peskovs pasludinājis par emocionālas spriedzes rezultātu. Pavisam cits svars ir paziņojumam, ar kuru pirmdien nāc klajā Vācijas kanclers Frīdrihs Mercs. Viņš paziņoja, ka Vācija, Francija, Lielbritānija un arī Savienotās Valstis vairs nenosakot nekādus ierobežojumus Ukrainai triecieniem ar tās rīcībā nodotajām rietumu ražojuma raķetēm pa Krievijas teritoriju. Jau šobrīd Ukrainas arsenālos ir britu un franču ražojuma „SCALP/Storm Shadow” raķetes ar piecsimt kilometru darbības rādiusu, un teorētiski tās jau šobrīd nav liegts raidīt uz mērķiem Krievijā. Tāpēc kanclera Merca paziņojums izraisījis spekulācijas par to, ka Kijiva beidzot varētu saņemt arī jaudīgās vācu raķetes „Taurus”, kas varētu būt sevišķi efektīvas pret Kerčas tiltu. Skaidri nepasakot, ka Vācija piegādās „Taurus”, Mercs izpelnījies savu partijas biedru kritiku, taču, cik var noprast, lēmumam joprojām pretojas kanclera pārstāvēto kristīgo demokrātu koalīcijas partneri – sociāldemokrāti. Jācer, ka vairāk skaidrības varētu viest prezidenta Zelenska šodienas, 28. maija, vizīte Vācijā. Tikām turpinās minējumi par to, vai pašreizējās norises frontē uzskatāmas par gaidītās Krievijas vasaras ofensīvas sākumu. Par galveno agresora aktivitātes virzienu tiek uzskatīta Pokrovska Doņeckas apgabalā, savukārt Krievijas spēku koncentrēšanās pie robežas ar Ukrainas Harkivas un Sumu apgabaliem ir domātas Ukrainas spēku saistīšanai. Kanāda nav nekāda pavalsts, bet gan suverēna monarhija Šīs nedēļas sākumā britu karaļpāris – karalis Čārlzs III un karaliene Kamilla – apmeklēja Kanādu. Kanāda, līdz ar Austrāliju, Jaunzēlandi, Papua-Jaungvineju, Jamaiku un vēl astoņām kādreizējām britu kolonijām ir Britu nāciju sadraudzības personālūnijas statusā, proti, šo suverēno valstu nominālais galva ir britu monarhs. Otrdien, 27. maijā, viņš Otavā uzstājās ar troņa runu Kanādas Parlamentā. Tas ir visai rets notikums. Parasti šo ceremoniālo pienākumu izpilda karaļa oficiālais pārstāvis – Kanādas gubernators. Iepriekšējo reizi britu monarhs, toreiz karaliene Elizabete II,  ar tādu Otavā uzstājās 1977. gadā, savukārt šī ir pirmā reize, kad Vindzoru dinastijas galvas runa atklāj jaunievēlētā Kanādas Parlamenta sesiju. Šis notikums, protams, nav nejaušība, ievērojot pēdējo mēnešu izlēcienus no Kanādas dienvidu kaimiņvalsts vadītāja Donalda Trampa puses – izrunāšanos par „51. pavalsti” un Kanādas premjerministra dēvēšanu par gubernatoru. Jaunais Kanādas premjerministrs Marks Kārnijs, pēc kura uzaicinājuma karaļpāris viesojas savā nominālajā valdījumā, norādījis, ka šī vizīte nepārprotami uzsver Kanādas suverenitāti. Kā pauž raidsabiedrība BBC, karalim kā nominālajam valsts galvam nākas vairīties no tiešiem politiskiem paziņojumiem, tā vietā „sūtot kodētus signālus un veicot simboliskus žestus”. A year and a half ago, neuroscientist Kamilla Souza got the call she'd been waiting for: A baby humpback whale had died just offshore. She wanted its brain. That's because scientists know little about the brains of whales and dolphins off the Central and South American coasts. Studying them, like Kamilla is doing, can teach scientists about the inner workings of these animals — about their behavior and how they're adapted to living underwater.
