The second week of the Olympic Games means one thing – the promise that stars will either fall or be made in track and field. And from what we've seen so far, Paris has delivered. Noah Lyles claimed the title of Fastest Man Alive and has his sights set on claiming more gold in today's 200M event. And while Sha'Carri Richardson lived up to her 2020 promise that she would be a presence in these Games, despite so many counting her out. Then there's the newly minted national heroes like Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia and Thea LaFond of Dominica bringing home the first medals in the history of their respective countries. ****SPOILERS for THE FLASH**** "Just gotta go faster than the speed of light, far beyond the speed of light. Gotta break the rule Barry and you gotta do it now." THE FLASH has arrived and while box office numbers have been less than stellar we cannot deny the anticipation we have had for this film. For the first since the 90s Michael Keaton dons the cape and cowl and returns - again as BATMAN on the big screen. For a pair of kids from the 80s whose first on-screen superhero at the movies THIS is a big deal. This one is going to have ALL the spoilers kids so if you haven't seen The Flash and plan to you may want to come back after you've seen it. But if you saw it and have an opinion then stick around - we'd love to hear it! Or if you simply need to decide if you're going to see it or not - well we think we can help you out there too!

This week, our episode lasts about an hour, and to be honest, we only scratch the surface of the stories our guest, Stan Barrett, has to tell. Not only has Stan lived a remarkable life — a stuntman with over 50 years of experience. Wrapping up their month celebrating the Fastest Man Alive, it only seems fitting that the Good Brothers take a trip around the multiverse, transcending time and space with an Elseworlds review of the DTV Tuckerverse movie "Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox." Hear a full breakdown and comparison of the source material and other versions of this story versus the one told in animated form. The hosts discuss a myriad of plot points before breaking down an extremely violent and murder-filled set of animation and visuals. It's not surprising that with a full length movie, also comes a full on soundtrack for Cal & Liam to discuss at length, while also having a rather large cast that includes several links to the DCAU-proper and other pop-culture icons. However, voice actors aren't the only DCAU Easter Eggs discussed as you'll hear along with an exciting preview of next month's historic set of reviews and much more on this week's all new DCAU Review! The Good Brothers are back and in full Speed Force for the third week of Flash Month, choosing to tackle a Justice League Unlimited season 2 episode titled "The Ties That Bind." And while the Flash shares the stage with Mr. Miracle and Big Barda, the episode is very much focused on the Flash and what he means to the new expanded JLU roster. Hear the hosts discuss this being the Flash's first speaking role in JLU, speculation as to why that was the case and Michael Rosenbaum not missing a beat in his performance as the Fastest Man Alive. Additionally, the hosts discuss a plot that suffers from a bit of an identity crisis and time crunch, visuals that delve into the deep cuts of the Kirby 4th World, and Ed Asner's wonderful return as Granny Goodness. Plus hear a discussion on the Dynamic Music Partners' Mr. Miracle theme, a surprise cameo from one of Hollywood's more popular actors of that time frame and a preview of next week's blockbuster way to wrap up Flash month on this week's all new DCAU Review! The month of August is sure fly by with the Good Brothers taking the month to celebrate The Fastest Man Alive with an entire month devoted to The Flash. Kicking things off, the hosts are reviewing Justice League season one episode "The Brave and the Bold Parts I & II." Hear the hosts discuss how the multiple writing credits may have led to a surprising lack of humor in the episode, visuals that honor several memorable Silver Age Flash stories, and the first inklings of both a budding League romance and a bromance. Also hear the hosts thoughts on two classic vocal performances from a pair of legendary voice actors, which actors may have still been finding their footing for their characters, and whether more Leaguers in this episode hurt or helped the overall story. It's ‘Groundhog Day' at Star Labs and Nora is working tirelessly to save the team while The Flash is away in the Speed Force. Can she save someone from dying? Find out here and join the discussion with hosts Jaimi Alexander, Chauncey K Robinson and Zach Silverman!! Flash is based upon characters published by DC Comics where through a freak accident scientist Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is given the power of super speed that transforms him into the Fastest Man Alive. After witnessing his mother's (Michelle Harrison) supernatural murder and his father's (John Wesley Shipp) wrongful conviction for the crime, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is taken in by Detective Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) and his family. Allen becomes a brilliant but socially awkward crime scene investigator for the Central City Police Department. His obsession with his tragic past causes him to become an outcast among his peers; he investigates cold cases, paranormal occurrences, and cutting-edge scientific advancements that may shed light on his mother's murder. No one believes his description of the crime—that a ball of lightning with the face of a man invaded their home that night—and Allen is fiercely driven to vindicate himself and to clear his father's name. Fourteen years after his mother's death, an advanced particle accelerator malfunctions during its public unveiling, bathing the city center with a previously unknown form of radiation during a severe thunderstorm. Allen is struck by lightning from the storm and doused with chemicals in his lab. Awakening after a nine-month coma, he discovers he has the ability to move at superhuman speeds. Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh), the disgraced designer of the failed particle accelerator, describes Barry's special nature as "metahuman"; Allen soon discovers that he is not the only one who was changed by the radiation. Allen vows to use his gifts to protect Central City from the escalating violence of metahuman criminals. He is aided by a few close friends and associates who guard his secrets. Six months after the events of the first season, after a singularity event, the Flash is recognized as Central City's hero. Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears), the Flash from a parallel universe, visits Barry and warns him another speedster named Zoom (also portrayed by Sears and voiced by Tony Todd) is trying to eliminate everyone connected to the Speed Force throughout themultiverse. Jay, and later Harrison Wells' parallel universe counterpart, work to help Barry and h --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Learn more about your ad choices.
