Lindsay has developed the sensory and quality program at a brewery that has a happy knack of winning major trophies. The tale of how she ended up in that position, after years spent travelling the world seeking out good beer wherever she went, is an excellent one. She's about to head back to her home country, the US, so we needed to get her on quickly. As with many of the ongoing series on the main website, we're keen to use the podcast as a platform to shine a light on people in all parts of the beer world, not just owners or founders. And, as a mutual friend from outside the beer world put it, Lindsay is a superstar. So, following our debut episode with Sailors Grave, here she is as the star of the second show. Our chat with Lindsay features insights into how installing quality programs can help breweries produce consistently great beer, the importance of beer education, and the day in the life of a beer judge – as well as Lindsay's personal journey from beer-loving traveller working front of house to someone who's just landed a gig judging at this year's Great American Beer Festival.

The Rochester City School District is a public school district that serves approximately 24,900 students in the city of Rochester, New York, which is where Stomping Ground's founders are from! We have been partnering with folks from RCSD since the very beginning of camp and have met so many genuine, kind, and passionate people. In this episode, we're joined by camp celebrity Allison Klee! This is Klee's first year working as a social worker in RCSD and she will be helping get some youth to camp this summer. Klee has a superpower in the department of partnerships because she has seen both sides, from managing the relationships as a camp director at Stomping Ground to now getting to send youth to camp from RCSD. This episode feels like a full circle journey, we're so lucky to be connected with so many amazing folks from Rochester and especially to learn from and continually be inspired by Klee's creativity and kindness.

Data makes the world go round. In this episode, we're joined by Tina and Maddy, our incredible partners from SUNY Geneseo who have been helping us design and conduct a research project about camp for the past couple of years. We believe that kids become more radically empathetic decision makers by practicing, and we're collecting the research to back it up. We talk about what shape this project has taken in the past, all that we've learned, and where it's going next summer and beyond. We are shifting to a much more camper-led approach, we talk about sharing power with youth and partnering with them to create a project that they're excited and passionate about. We also talk about how empowering it is to learn how to read data and how learning even basic research skills can open up doors of possibilities. Join us for an exciting conversation and stay tuned for part two where we talk with our Camper Board about their hopes and dreams for this research project.
