A lot of small business owners are feeling the pressure to keep up right now.AI is changing how we work. New tools and platforms keep showing up. Buyers are behaving differently, and the market feels harder to read than it used to.And I get it.When things feel uncertain, it's very easy to start adding more. But for small but mighty business owners, more is not always what creates momentum. Sometimes it just makes the business heavier. In this episode, I sit down with Lydia Lee, business strategist and work reinvention coach, for a conversation about what it really means to grow in this season. This is not a tidy framework conversation. It's more of a real talk about the pressure small business owners are carrying, what is changing in the market, and why some of the most important growth moves right now might actually be quieter ones.We talk about simplifying, getting clearer on what you actually need, and building a business around your real season of life instead of someone else's version of success. We also get into why relationships matter more than ever. AI can give you ideas, outlines, and tactics, but it cannot replace trust. In this episode, we cover:why experienced small business owners are feeling overwhelmed right nowhow AI is creating both urgency and distractionwhy adding more is not always the best response to uncertaintywhat it means to define growth based on the season you are actually inThis conversation is for you if you have been feeling the pressure to do more, but some part of you knows the answer might be to pause, simplify, and ask a more honest question:What do I actually need right now?Show Notes:Website: screwthecubicle.com YouTube: youtube.com/screwthecubicleLinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/lydialleeGet the full show notes and more information here: https://audreyjoykwan.com/podcast/ep153Podcast Edits by Lindsay Curtis

Ep 114 (http://ibit.ly/Re5V) Tracy Humphrey on rural training in Scottish Highlands, induction and understanding women's choices#PhDMidwives #research #midwifery #ruralmidwifery #induction #womenschoiceresearch link t.ly/oMeCVSomeone once told Tracy Humphrey she wasn't “fully qualified yet”. Instead of shrinking, she used it as fuel and went on to become a professor of maternal health and a senior university leader, while staying deeply connected to what matters most in maternity care: women's choices, experiences, and outcomes. We talk through the real-world impact of a boutique midwifery education in the Scottish Highlands, what regional training can teach you that big-city systems often miss, and why continuity of care and one-to-one support in labour still sit at the centre of safe, humane practice. Tracy also shares how her master's and PhD work grew from everyday clinical frustration with protocol-driven care that wasn't always evidence-based, and how mentorship and being embedded in strong research teams can turn a clinician into a confident, capable researcher. The conversation then shifts to induction of labour and the rising global rates. Tracy offers a challenging but practical reframe: the goal is not simply to drive numbers down, but to ensure women are adequately informed, offered real alternatives, and supported through shared decision-making and consent. We also explore her work in global maternal health and policy roles, what brought her to Australia just before Covid, and why midwifery autonomy and funding models shape everything from workforce planning to women's access to midwife-led care.If you care about midwifery, maternity services, women-centred care, and evidence-based practice, you'll get a lot from this one. That feeling has a name: moral distress. We're joined by Wendy Foster, a midwife, educator, researcher and union advocate, to unpack how moral distress shows up in Australian maternity care and why it matters for burnout, workforce retention, and women's experiences of birth. We trace Wendy's path from direct-entry midwifery to rural and regional practice, then into education, where she starts noticing how training structures can pull students away from woman-centred care. We talk continuity of care requirements, the hidden workload of “chasing numbers”, and why the real costs land as time, fatigue and money. Wendy also shares how an unexpected health detour sparked an honours deep dive into magnesium and diabetes links, and how research skills still pay off even when a study can't be completed. From there, the conversation moves into the research that helped shift national thinking on placement payments, and into the work she now does with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF), including enterprise bargaining issues like workload recognition and the push for fairer professional conditions. We finish with the simplest (and hardest) reset: start by finding out what's important to women, then rebuild policy and service design around choice and relationships. If you found this valuable, follow the podcast, share it with a colleague, and leave a review so more people can find these conversations. This is the one that started it all over again. After 13 years of building, 550,000+ podcast downloads, 168 episodes, and over $1 billion in collective organizational sales, Balazs W Kardos is back with something new. Something bigger. Something more real.In this debut episode of the Global Prosperity Movement, Balazs pulls back the curtain on why he walked away from the Diamond Life Mentor brand at the height of its success, what prosperity truly means beyond a bank account, and what he believes has separated the people who've won in this business from the ones who walked away too soon.He reads the actual numbers from his Enagic back office live (409,000+ at rank 1A, 634 at 6A, 78+ at 6A2 and above) and makes a declaration: the stories are the proof. And the world is finally going to hear them. This episode is a blueprint for what this show will become, and a mirror for anyone who's ever wondered if staying the course was worth it.Spoiler: it is.Why the Diamond Life Mentor chapter ended... and what it becameBalazs didn't quit. He evolved. He turned 40, and something shifted. The mission didn't fail, it compounded into something he could no longer contain in the old format. He explains exactly what that felt like and why the Global Prosperity Movement is the next, truer expression of the intention he set 13 years ago. What "prosperity" actually meansMost people assume prosperity = money. Balazs breaks down the full picture: time freedom, location freedom, optimal health and vitality, deep family presence, peace, leadership, options, and legacy. If your bank account is full but your life isn't, that's not prosperity. This reframe alone is worth the listen. The real numbersOver 409,000 people at rank 1A. 634 at 6A. 78+ at 6A2 and above. $1 billion in collective organizational sales. He reads them out loud, in real time, because he finally realized: the numbers sound made up unless the stories make them real. That's why this show exists. The compounding curve, and why most people quit right before it kicks inThis isn't about intensity. The people who win are not always the most talented. They're the ones who stayed aligned long enough for the work to compound. Balazs breaks down the invisible compounding happening beneath the surface of your business right now, and why walking away at the wrong moment is the single greatest mistake a builder can make. Why consistency in one strategy beats chasing tacticsThe largest groups in GPM have used the same webinar presentation for nearly 10 years. Same one. Still crushing it. Meanwhile, most people change their entire strategy every 90 days and wonder why nothing sticks. This is one of the most practical and honest observations Balazs shares in the episode. The vision for what this show will becomeThis show will be a global archive of transformation. A tool that teams share with prospects. A library of proof. A connector of people who belong together. Balazs speaks the future into existence, and if you've been around him long enough, you know what that means."This show is not a motivation show. We don't talk about freedom. Ask Me How I Know: Multifamily Investor Stories of Struggle to Success
Internal recalibration expresses itself relationally before we announce it. This episode widens the lens to the full relational landscape and names what the people in your life are already experiencing — quietly, before you knew it was happening. The people closest to you noticed before you did. The child who said you seem different. The colleague who thanked you for something you thought you'd always done. The conversation that had been dreaded for months — that happened, and was fine. The relationship that's been costing less. You didn't announce any of this. Identity-level recalibration doesn't wait for permission to show up in relationships. It expresses itself horizontally — in the people around us, in the room we create, in the quality of presence we're bringing — before we've said a single thing. What we name in this episode:Why the people around you are already living with the relational effects of your internal workWhy unsolicited feedback from someone close to you is the most honest evidence availableThe specific way high achievers qualify or manage for relational shifts — and why both undermine the evidenceWhy your relationships don't need a new version of you announced — they already have oneWhat it means to let presence replace performance in the relationships you're already inThis isn't about trying to show up differently. When identity recalibrates at the root, the relational world receives it whether or not we're ready. Saturday's job is simply to widen the lens — and let what's already visible become acknowledged.Today's Micro Recalibration: Think of one relationship and ask — what has this person been experiencing in me lately that I haven't stopped to acknowledge?Explore Identity-Level Recalibration→ Schedule a conversation with Julie to see if The Recalibration is a fit for you→ Learn about The Recalibration Cohort→ Join the next Friday Recalibration Live experience → Take your listening deeper! Today we are continuing to look at Philippians 1, and we aregoing on to verse 29, where we come to a very challenging truth. It says this: “Forto you it has been granted on behalf of Christ not only to believe in Him, butalso to suffer for His sake.” Today we are going to be talking aboutthe gift of suffering. NowPaul says two things are granted by grace. Number one, faith to believe in Him.And how we all love and appreciate for that. We know Ephesians 2:8–9: “Forby grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is thegift of God..." Thank God for thegift of grace! ButPaul goes on to say, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer forHis sake. Remember back in verse 28, Paul said “we should not be inany way terrified by our adversaries”. We should not be terrified by thosewho will cause persecution and suffering and inflict pain upon us. Why? BecauseGod has granted us this gift of suffering. Welove the gift of grace, but we might have a hard time understanding the gift ofsuffering, and it is even harder to accept. But what we need to understand isthat suffering connects us to Jesus Christ. Remember Philippians 3:10 wherePaul wrote later in this epistle: “That I might know Him and thefellowship of His sufferings.” In Romans 8:17 he wrote: “If indeedwe suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together with Him”. Andthen verse 18, Paul goes on to say: “For I consider that the sufferings ofthis present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall berevealed in us.” In1 Peter 4:13, Peter said, “Rejoice to the extent that you partake ofChrist's sufferings.” Remember Jesus Himself said in Matthew 5:10–12, “Blessedare those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake… Rejoice and beexceedingly glad,” that you have the privilege of suffering and beingpersecuted for Christ's sake.Wemust know that suffering is not meaningless. It deepens our faith, strengthensour character, and prepares us for glory. Thechurch in China, which has suffered so deeply under great persecution over theyears because of their faith, would tell us, “Don't pray that we are notpersecuted and that we do not suffer. Pray that we remain faithful.” When Ivisited the unground church there years ago the church leaders told us, “Persecutionpurifies the church”. As a matter of fact, we have heard that some churches inChina made it a requirement to have served time in labor camp prisons sufferingfor their faith to prove that they were truly a Christian before they couldbecome part of their fellowship of believers. Myfriend, that is not what we have faced so far in America, but it might not befar off! In James 1:2–3, it reminds us “to count it all joy when you fallinto various trials and tribulations”. In 1 Peter 1:6–9 we read: “Inthis you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you havebeen grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested byfire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of JesusChrist..." Nowlet's be honest—we do not naturally see suffering as a gift. But from God'sperspective: It is shaping us.Itis refining us. It is drawing us closer to Christ. So today: Do not waste yourtrials. See them through God's eyes. Trust Him in the process. Inclosing this chat, I want you to read 1 Peter 5:6-11 that reminds us to humbleourselves as we face the attacks of the devil, “resisting him, steadfast inthe faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhoodin the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal gloryby Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. ..." Also a good book to read that would bless and give you abetter understanding of God's purposes of suffering in our lives is: “The Insanityof God” by Nik Ripken.

That throwaway line misses the point and it misses the skill. We're joined by Georgina “Gina” Voss, a midwife of 30 years whose career spans emergency nursing, maternity governance, FGM clinical work, and a PhD focused on what one-to-one labour support truly looks like in real birth rooms.Gina shares the moments that shaped her practice: learning to trust intuition when a patient looks fine but something feels wrong, being mentored by fiercely autonomous midwives who protect the birth space, and seeing how quickly normal birth can be disrupted when systems don't support midwife-led care. We also explore her work on supporting women with female genital mutilation (female genital cutting) and what good care requires, from using clear respectful language to understanding why deinfibulation should be the first action for women with type III FGM, plus the practical postnatal details clinicians too often miss. Her ethnographic research takes us behind the door, across home births and midwife-led units, including the relationship-building needed to be invited in, the ethics of being a clinician-researcher, and the constant balancing act that can look like “doing nothing” from the outside. We finish by zooming out to midwifery education and workforce development, including Gina's work helping to build a midwifery degree in the UAE aligned with International Confederation of Midwives competencies, and her advice for midwives who want careers in clinical practice, research, leadership, and governance. If you care about safe maternity care, midwifery continuity of care, one-to-one support in labour, and respectful women-centred practice, this one will stay with you. The real battle isn't external. It's internal. In this episode of Road to Victory, I unpack the war between subconscious desire and self-control — and why most people lose because they keep negotiating with the part of themselves that wants comfort.Inspired by a conversation with the Blind Boss, we break down:• Why polite rejection is still rejection• The mental chess match between impulse and discipline• Why “you lose, you go home” applies to life• Asking yourself what really brought you here• Fighting because it's what you were born to do• Why it's time to stop giving half effort and go all inThis episode is about internal warfare.Because the biggest opponent you'll ever face…Is the version of you that wants less.Welcome to the Road to Victory.

We sit down with midwife and academic Nicole Haynesworth to trace how a career built across regional New South Wales, a high acuity UK hospital, and university teaching turns curiosity into real change for women, babies, and the clinicians learning the craft. We talk about what Nicole brought back from the UK, including a different approach to post-caesarean care that keeps mother and baby together, and how asking “why are we doing it this way?” can shift practice when you involve the right stakeholders. From there, we move into midwifery education, continuity of care, and what Nicole's PhD reveals about students learning best when they feel safe, trusted, and connected to the woman's experience, rather than just being assessed on tasks. Along the way, we unpack practical teaching tools such as shared goal-setting, reflective practice, and making the “hidden” skills of advocacy, autonomy, and accountability explicit. We also look ahead to program improvement in Graduate Entry midwifery, supporting clinicians returning to practice, and the research questions still driving Nicole, including synthetic oxytocin policies and induction, epidural-related fever pathways, and gestational diabetes. “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do,forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those thingswhich are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling ofGod in Christ Jesus.” Today,we conclude our introduction to the book of Philippians by looking at one ofthe most powerful statements that Paul makes in this letter. In Philippians3:13–14, he writes: “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended; butthis one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reachingforth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prizeof the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” These words reveal the focusand the passion of the Apostle Paul's life. I'dlike for us to take a few moments to remember what Paul was doing as Saulbefore his conversion. We first meet Saul back in Acts 7:58. He was standingthere when Stephen, the first martyr, was stoned to death. He held the clothesof those who cast the stones at Stephen. In Acts 8:1-3, in the opening verses,we find that Saul was making havoc of the church—persecuting Christians, dragging them from their homes, throwing them into prison, and even puttingthem to death. Then, in Acts 9, Saul meets the Lord Jesus Christ on the road toDamascus. When he said, “Who are You, Lord?” Jesus answered from heaven,“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.” Saul was persecuting JesusChrist as he was imprisoning and killing believers. Later, when Paul gave his testimony in Acts 26:9-11 before King Agrippa, he said: “ThisI also did in Jerusalem, and many of the saints I shut up in prison, havingreceived authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, Icast my vote against them. And I punished them often in every synagogue andcompelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly enraged against them, Ipersecuted them even to foreign cities.” Can you imagine that? He said hewas “exceedingly enraged” against them. He hated the followers of Jesus Christ. But then he met Jesus—and everything changed. Sowhen Paul says, “forgetting those things which are behind,” can youimagine the burden he carried after becoming a follower of Christ? He had toface families of those who had suffered because of him. He had to seekforgiveness from people whose loved ones he had persecuted. He must have carrieda tremendous weight from his past. But, my friend, Paul did not live in thepast. He did not dwell on past failures—or even past successes. Instead, hepressed forward toward the mark that God had set before him. Inthis same letter, Paul makes another well-known statement in Philippians 1:21: “Forto me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” This verse captures the veryheart of Paul's life. Living meant serving Christ. Dying meant being withChrist. Either way, Jesus Christ was everything to him. That is the centralmessage of the book of Philippians. Joy is found in Christ. Strength is foundin Christ. Purpose is found in Christ. Aswe begin our verse-by-verse study of this letter in the days ahead, we will seeagain and again how Paul points believers back to the Lord Jesus Christ. InPhilippians 3:10–11, he writes: “That I may know Him and the power of Hisresurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to Hisdeath, if by any means I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.” Myfriend, the more we know Christ, the more our hearts are filled with joy. Themore we trust Christ, the more we experience peace. The more we follow Christ, the more our lives begin to reflect His love and His humility. Iam convinced that as we study through this book together, God will use it todeepen our faith, strengthen our walk, and fill our hearts with a joy that onlyJesus Christ can give. Maythe Lord bless you in the days ahead as we explore this wonderful and excitingbook together.

Understandthis clearly: Satan did not quote God's Word completely. And he did not quoteit correctly or in its proper context. My friend, Satan is not afraid when youquote Scripture—especially if you do not understand it. He is not intimidatedwhen you use verses out of context, perhaps just to make yourself feel betterabout what you are doing. Overthe years, as a pastor, I have seen many people do exactly that when they wereconfronted with some sin in their life. They would say, “It must be okay, because the Bible says….” I'll never forget in my early days as a pastor I wasasked to meet with a family late one night and talk to the wife who wascommitting adultery. When we lovingly confronted her, she actually said, “Godsaid in the Bible that you're supposed to love everybody. I love my husband, and I love this other person too.” Wow! You almost can't imagine how cansomeone quote Scripture out of context like that and come up with such aconclusion? But it literally happened. That is why we must learn to use theWord of God carefully, rightly, and accurately. Thatis also why Paul told Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:15, “Study to show yourselfapproved unto God, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” That is veryimportant. Again, Paul says in Ephesians 6:17, “the sword of the Spirit, whichis the Word of God.” Make sure you rightly know it and correctly apply it! Thereis something else very powerful in this verse. When Paul speaks of “the swordof the Spirit, which is the Word of God,” he is referring to a specific wordfor a specific battle. This is an important point to understand.InEphesians 6:17, Paul does not use the Greek word logos, which oftenrefers to the Word of God in general. Instead, he uses the word rhema, which refers to a specific saying, a particular word spoken for a particularsituation. Why is that important? Because when Satan attacks you, you do notjust need general Bible knowledge. You need specific truth for specific lies. Forexample, when Satan says, “God doesn't love you,” you can answer with Romans5:8: “But God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yetsinners, Christ died for us.” Or you might answer with 1 John 4:9–10: “Inthis the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His onlybegotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be thepropitiation for our sins.” Quote that Scripture back when the devil saysGod does not love you. WhenSatan says, “You've gone too far,” answer with 1 John 1:9: “If we confessour sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us fromall unrighteousness.” When Satan says, “You're not really saved,” answerwith John 10:28, where Jesus said, “I give unto them eternal life, and theyshall never perish.”Yoursalvation is not based on what you do. It is based on what Jesus has alreadydone for you. Onepassage that I memorized as a brand-new Christian, when Satan attacked me withthat very lie, was Romans 8:35–39. The Apostle Paul wrote: “Who shallseparate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, orpersecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written:‘For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for theslaughter.' Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him wholoved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels norprincipalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor heightnor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from thelove of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Myfriend, make sure you use a specific Word to answer a specific attack ofSatan. When you do, you are taking up the sword of the Spirit exactly as Godintended—and He will protect you in that moment.

We share that journey with candour and urgency—why timing mattered, how a call to “give back” became a global mission, and what it takes to turn evidence into action for women, babies, and families. We unpack the role of a chief midwife at scale: elevating the profession, pushing for educated, regulated, and well-resourced midwifery, and ensuring midwife-led models of care are implemented where they save the most lives. The contrasts in maternal mortality are stark, but the solutions aren't mysterious. From essential medicines that actually work in local conditions to policy choices that put women's health at the centre, we look at how ministries and health systems can prioritise dignity and outcomes without setting midwives up to fail.Crisis is another proving ground. When others run out, midwives run into conflict zones, climate disasters, and displacement. That requires leadership, voice, and the right tools. We talk about ICM's partnerships for emergency readiness, the train-the-trainer programs shaping on-the-ground response, and the crucial difference between mere representation and real inclusion at decision-making tables. Then we shift to growth: the Midwifery Leaders Executive Sponsorship Program, the forthcoming ICM Leadership Academy, and the first global leadership competencies designed to guide job descriptions, performance reviews, and national workforce planning with consistency.Data ties it together. The refreshed Midwives Data Hub helps leaders build stronger cases for change and gives educators and students a global view that sharpens local care. We close with stories that stay with you—frontline births in shelters, flags raised at ICM Congress, and a shared commitment not to leave anyone behind. If you believe preventable maternal death should be history, this conversation shows the path forward.Enjoyed the episode? Follow, rate, and share with a colleague who champions midwifery. Taking up the helmet of salvation and putting it on means thatwe are having confidence that we are God's children. We are in His family. Yousee the helmet protects us from the biggest lie of the devil that we are notsafe in Jesus Christ. Listen carefully. One of Satan's most crippling attacksis to make believers feel insecure. Their insecurity produces paralysis. If aChristian thinks, "I might not be saved," then they stop movingforward. Whatwe're talking about is the assurance of our salvation. If we don't have theassurance of our salvation, we stop serving the Lord. We stop praying boldly. We stop living with joy in our lives. We become fearful, anxious and unstablein our walk with God. This is so important. This thing of assurance ofsalvation. Why do we lose our assurance of our salvation? Because the assuranceof our salvation is the joy we are experiencing when we know that we are savedand safe! In1 John chapter 1, John is talking about the eternal life that was manifest tohim. He wrote: “We have seen, we bear witness, we declare to you thateternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us”. Why? Johnsaw Jesus personally for three and a half years and walked and talked with Him.He goes on to write: "That which we have seen and heard, we declare toyou that you also may have fellowship with us. Truly, our fellowship is withthe Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. These things we write to you thatyour joy may be full." Myfriend, what John is writing about in the book of First John is how we can haveassurance of our salvation. Here's the fact. Either we have been saved or we'venot been saved. That's why assurance of salvation deals with these two issues. Inthis epistle John gives three series of tests. The test of obedience, the testof love, and the test of truth. I really encourage you to read the Epistle ofFirst John if you're dealing with doubt and saying to yourself: "I'm notsure I'm saved. I wonder did I ever get saved? I prayed a prayer when I was achild, but now, I don't know that I've ever truly been born again. Yes, I gotbaptized, but I don't know that Jesus is my savior. I don't have that assuranceof salvation." Johngives three series of tests, as I said, and the tests have to do first with sonship. Are you really a son of the Father? You really in the family? Secondly, thereis the test of fellowship. You can be saved and lose fellowship with God. Thefollowing verses in 1 John 1:5-10 have to do with that. They basically say thatif we have fellowship with Him, we walk in the light as He is in the light. Ifwe sin, we can lose that fellowship. But if we confess our sin, He is faithfuland just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Then welove Him. We walk in His truth and we keep His commandments. We're obedient. Thedevil doesn't want you to have the assurance of your salvation even when you'resaved. So that's why John writes in 1 John 5:11-13 “And this is thetestimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Hewho has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not havelife. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son ofGod, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue tobelieve in the name of the Son of God.” My friend, your eternal life is notin who you are and what you do and what you can do for God. Your eternal lifeis in Jesus Christ. Jesustells us in John 10:28-29: “And I give them eternal life and they shallnever perish neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand”. Romans8:38-39 also assures us: “For I'm persuaded that neither death nor life norany other created thing shall be able to separate us from the love of Godthat's in Christ Jesus our Lord”. My friend, this is the helmet, this isthe settled truth. I belong to Christ. I'm kept by Christ and I'll be broughthome by Christ today.

Faith is not in ourselves. It is in the God of the Bible—the Godwho has made great and exceeding promises to us. We must choose to believethose promises. InPsalm 9:10 it says, “Those who know Your name will put their trust in You.For You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who trust in You, who seek You.” Wecan only experience and know God by faith! His many names in the Bible revealHis attributes, His character, and the way He works with us. My friend, faithis not powerful because we are strong. Faith is powerful because God isfaithful. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 30:5 that: “Every word of God ispure. He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.” Tohold up the shield of faith is to put ourselves under God's protection. Thatmeans we are under God's authority and any other authorities He has placed overour lives: Romans 13 reminds us, “Let every soul be subject to the governingauthorities, for there is no authority except from God. The authorities thatexist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists theordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.” Inthis chapter Paul goes on to tell us in verse 13, “Let us walk properly asin the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not instrife and envy.” Notice especially verse 14: “But put on the Lord JesusChrist, and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts.” Thatis so powerful. Put on the Lord Jesus Christ. We have talked about putting offthe old man and putting on the new man. Now we are talking about putting onChrist. Remember Jesus said in John 10:9, “I am the door.” When He saysHe is the door, that is a beautiful picture of a door-shield that is so bigthat it protects us. It keeps the enemy away from us. It shuts the devil out.But Jesus is also the door that we can go into and through, to live a life thatis full of the fullness of God Himself in us and through us—facing the trials, the temptations, and the problems of life. Faithtakes God at His Word. We believe God's promises such as: “If God is for us,who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). James 1:17: “Every good gift andevery perfect gift comes down from the Father of lights.” Philippians 4:19:“God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory in ChristJesus.” And then in Ephesians 1:3, we have already been “blessed withall spiritual blessings in Christ”. So when Satan whispers, “God is holdingout on you,” faith says, “No, God is always good.” When Satan says God doesn'tcare, faith says, “He loved me and gave Himself for me.” When Satan saysyou will fall, faith says, “God is able to keep me from falling.” Myfriend, faith always wins over fear and worry. Faith always puts that shield ofprotection about us. Alsowe need to always remember what Jesus said in John 10:27–28 that His sheep willnever perish, and no one will pluck them out of His hand. That is security. Faithtakes hold of Christ. Faith puts on Christ. Then we make no provision for thelust of the flesh. My friend, we can find forgiveness. We find cleansing. Wefind the washing of the blood taking away every sin that the devil holdsagainst us, accuses us of, and tries to tell us we are not good enough. Becausein God's sight, we have been justified through Christ and Christ alone—not byour goodness. 1John 5:4 sums it up: “This is the victory that overcomes the world, even ourfaith.” We are not fighting for victory. We are fighting from victory.Jesus Christ has already conquered the world, the flesh, and the devil. Our jobis to stand in that victory by faith. So today, by God's grace, take up theshield of faith. Trust God's Word, trust God's character, trust God's plan, trust God's promises. And when those fiery darts come—and they will—remember, they will be quenched by God Himself. And you will be ready to walk that lifethat glorifies Him every day.

From cycling between neonatal units and community visits in Hackney to advising ministers and shaping WHO-backed guidance, she shows how a midwife's craft scales from bedside to policy without losing its heart. The through-line is simple and hard: women deserve to be heard, understood, and supported by confident, competent midwives who have time to build trust. We unpack the formative years in London's melting pot, where culture, church and family shaped everything from pain expression to antenatal priorities. Jacqueline explains why continuity of care is more than a model; it's the context that makes advice land and reduces unnecessary intervention. Her teaching era ran in parallel with hands-on births and multidisciplinary training, proving that credible education starts in the room where it matters most. A master's in public health sharpened her prevention mindset and introduced epigenetics as a practical tool: every conversation on diet, sleep, breastfeeding and safety ripples across generations. Her professional doctorate emerged from a ringing labour ward phone. Studying health-seeking behaviour on a maternity helpline, she found that careful listening and evidence-based reassurance keep many women safely at home longer, lower system pressure, and improve confidence. Those lessons later guided her as England's chief midwife during COVID: pre-vaccine fear, staff shortages, and unequal risk demanded clear triage, protection for women facing domestic violence in lockdown, and targeted support for Black and Asian women disproportionately affected. Looking outward, she champions three landmark documents on midwife models of care from WHO and partners, calling them the blueprint for cutting preventable maternal and perinatal deaths if leaders choose to act.Come for the story of a midwife who never left the bedside behind; stay for a clear, actionable case for midwife-led care that puts safety, dignity and public health first. Day 4 brings the focus back to movement — specifically, the lower body.Hips, knees, and ankles take the brunt of daily life and training. Sitting, running, lifting, fighting, jumping — it all funnels through the lower half. Thefirst thing that we see as an evidence of spiritual maturity and spiritualgrowth is that we are Christlike in our attitude, actions and speech. Jesus wasalways submitted to the will of His Father. Read the Gospels. Jesus always didHis Father's will. This quote from Psalms is most descriptive of Jesus: “Ihad delight to do Thy will. Oh my God. Thy law is written within my heart” (Psalm40:8). That was the heart and mind of Jesus, my friend. That's what happens tous when we're submitted in obedience to the will of God. As Oswalt Chamberssaid in one of his writings. We'vebeen perfectly adjusted to the fact that Christ lives in us, and we now know andlive in His righteousness. We're robed in that righteousness, and we want towalk with Him with all of our heart. It's a surrendered life, as Andrew Murrayput it. Thenwe see the second evidence of our spiritual growth is stability. We're nolonger children tossed to and fro. Today, we looking at the third evidence of our spiritual growth that wefind in verse 15: “But speaking the truth in love may grow up in allthings unto Him who is the head Christ”. The third evidence of spiritualmaturity is that we consistently “speak the truth in love”. Someonehas said that truth without love is brutality, but love without truth ishypocrisy. We somehow another, by the grace of God, can combine the two. Youmust have truth expressed in love. I love that verse in Psalm 85:10 where itsays, "Love and truth and mercy have met. Righteousness and peace havekissed." I believe this happened at the cross of Calvary. It was therethe truth of God, that we're sinners that our sin must be punished, met withthe love and mercy of God, as Christ died in our place for our sins. We now canbe set free from our sin and experience peace along with God's righteousness! Nowwe can speak truth out of a heart of love to those around us because we'veexperienced the love of God. 1 John 4:7-11 tells us where this love comes from:"Beloved, let us love one another. For love is of God, and everyone wholoves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God. ForGod is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God hassent His only begotten Son into the world that we might live through Him. Inthis is love, not that we love God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to bethe propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought to loveone another." Evidencethat we have spiritual maturity is that we can love, but we love in truth. We speakthe truth in love. We don't speak the truth to hurt, to condemn, todestroy, to tear down. We speak it in love to build up, to encourage, to help aperson get back on track. We speak the truth in love. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8tells us the kind of love that God has and that we should have. “Lovesuffers long. Love is kind. Love does not envy. Love does not parade itself. Isnot puffed up. Does not behave rudely. Does not seek its own. Is not provoked.Thinks no evil, does not rejoice in iniquity, rejoices in the truth, love bearsall things.” Whenwe have a heart that is surrendered and obedient to the will of the Lord GodAlmighty, we will have the mind of Christ, and we will speak the truth withlove. It will be evidence that there is something in our heart that's differentthan when the natural man is in control of our lives and tearing down anddestroying the lives of those around us as we see so often in Christian circles.God help us to have this mark of spiritual maturity, and spiritual growth, andthat is “speaking the truth in love”. Godbless!

Welcometo Pastor's Chat. Today we're looking at Ephesians 3:14-19. These are powerfulverses reminding us of the Apostle Paul's prayer for the church at Ephesus. Inthis prayer, there are four request, but they're not to be looked at asinsulated individual petitions because these four requests are like four partsto a telescope. One request leads into the next one and so on. He prays thatthe inner man might have spiritual strength, which will, in turn, lead to adeeper experience with Christ. This deeper experience will enable him to “apprehend”(to get a hold) of God's great love, which will result in being “filled untothe fullness of God”. So, then, Paul is praying for strength, for depth inour spiritual life, for apprehension, and for fullness. That'swhat we'll be talking about these next couple days because this prayer, thispetition is so vitally important to our spiritual growth and our spiritualwell-being and our spiritual standing as we fight and stand against the wilesof the evil one (Ephesians 6). Please read the petition in these six versescarefully. Oh my friend, it's almost unimaginable that we have a prayer herethat tells us that on earth we can be filled with the fullness of God. JesusChrist himself was the exact image of God (Hebrews 1:3). He was the fullness ofGod manifest on earth (Colossians 1:19). Now we as His believers, as His light,as His witnesses, can be filled with the same fullness of God to make a bigdifference in the world in which we live. Oh,if only we as believers would learn this truth and pray for this greatanointing, this great strengthening of the Holy Spirit to make us all that weshould be for the glory of God. The lack of power and weakness of the churchestoday is that we have no idea as far as most believers are concerned what wehave in Christ Jesus and the fullness of God and the riches of His glory that'savailable to us. And that through this prayer that we read about here we can experiencethis power and strength in our lives Thefirst thing Paul prays for is “to be strengthened with might throughHis Spirit in the inner man”. The presence of the Holy Spirit in our lifeis evidence of our salvation. Romans 8:9 says: “But you are not in the fleshbut in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyonedoes not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His”. Scripture is very clearthat at the moment of our salvation, the Holy Spirit comes to indwell us. But thepower of the Holy Spirit is enablement for Christian living. It's this powerthat Paul desires for these believers here at Ephesus. InActs 1:8, Jesus had said to the disciples, you shall receive power after thatthe Holy Spirit is come upon you. We are told in Luke 4:1, 14, that Jesusperformed His ministry on earth in the power of the Holy Spirit. This power ofthe Holy Spirit is the only resource that we have for Christian living today. When you read through the book of Acts, over and again you see the importanceof the Holy Spirit in the life of the church. There are at least some fifty-ninereferences to the Holy Spirit in the book of Acts. This is one fourth of allthe references found in the New Testament on the Holy Spirit. Someonesaid, that if God took the Holy Spirit out of the church today, He wouldn'teven be missed because we would just go on working as usual. How sad that thisis so true. We can't imagine the wisdom that we would have, the strength thatwe would, the witness that we would in the world, if we would receive this greattruth and allow the Holy Spirit to fill us. living and working in us, andthrough us. Today, how real is the Holy Spirit to you? Are you praying to “be strengthened withmight through His Spirit” to face the challenges of living theChristian life in today's godless culture? Are you praying this for others too? Godbless!
