Rob wrote "Soul Care" and works with Renewal International, focusing on spiritual renewal and freedom in the Holy Spirit. Reagan herself had a life-changing personal experience attending a three-day soul care conference with Dr. Rob. Dr. Rob's push to bring light to the world knows few boundaries — he has travelled across the globe and brought soul care to every continent except Antarctica. [2:44] Understanding and Healing the Soul As a child, Rob experienced anxiety, faced bullies, and felt unloved. These wounds created a deep fear in him, and he always tried to hide from new environments. Through God, Rob found his soul healed. Today, he has the strength to fearlessly travel the world to spread God's healing. Reagan Kramer reflects on how many people can relate to childhood experiences that impact their soul and how they may not realize it. Rob explains that the soul is synonymous with the Old Testament concept of the heart. It is the center of human operations. Many people do not give enough importance to the idea of the soul, and Reagan thinks it is used too flippantly in the modern day. [6:35] Starting the Soul Care Movement Rob Reimer started the soul care movement after planting a church in Boston. He experienced a marriage crisis that led him to realize the need for personal change rather than focusing on the other person's issues. But Rob was able to overcome this crisis through his faith. He received principles to live by from God, and applied them to his life. Today, he feels confident enough to pass on these principles to help others, leading to the development of his book and ministry. [8:30] Narcissism and Self-Centeredness Everyone has a bias towards self. That self-centeredness is a result of sin. But focusing on oneself leads to misery, while focusing on Jesus and others brings peace. Rob describes a powerful idea: the biblical concept of dying to self as essential for experiencing abundant life in Christ. Dying to self involves overcoming self-centeredness, self-protection, and self-reliance. Reagan Kramer herself has found that this concept helped her in her spiritual journey. Without dying to self, Christ cannot be formed in a person, and they remain bound by their sinful nature. [13:05] Repentance, Brokenness, and Soul Care Dr. Rob explains the first step, identity, and its importance in Christian life. True identity is found in Christ, who makes us part of His family. The second step, repentance, heals the soul and places us in God's presence. Repentance is part of the good news of Jesus and essential for living in His light. Rob points out the Western value of tolerance with the biblical concept of sin and repentance. People are more open to discussing their brokenness and dysfunction than their sinfulness. Reagan Kramer agrees, noting that many people are desperate for healing and open to solutions, even if they don't understand the theological aspects. [26:11] Breaking Family Sin Patterns There exist patterns of sin in families that we must break. This unaddressed sin can have a devastating impact on future generations. Rob uses the example of Abraham's family sin pattern of favoritism and how it continued through his descendants. Breaking free from sinful patterns and living a holy life is a noble and honorable goal that emphasizes soul care. Furthermore, addressing these family sin patterns requires profound trust and honesty. The healing process will come by being open to each other. [32:01] Forgiveness and Overcoming Fear Forgiveness is difficult because we are afraid. Fear prevents us from accessing forgiveness. However, Rob emphasizes the importance of forgiving those who sin against us to allow God's healing and peace to flow in our lives. Rob shares his personal experience of forgiving a man who spread lies about him, demonstrating the power of obedience to Jesus' commands. Forgiveness and overcoming fear are essential for living a life free from anxiety and the bondage of sin. [49:42] Healing Wounds and Deliverance Moving forward in freedom is easier if we begin by healing wounds from the past. Unresolved anger and pain create barriers to God's healing and must be addressed. God's deliverance lets us cast out demonic spirits that cause torment and bondage in our souls. These wounds or indwelling demons might even be the result of generational curses that went unresolved. Reagan Kramer shares her personal experience of hearing demonic manifestations and the importance of the Church in setting people free.

Your Daily Prayer Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 30, 2026 7:09 Transcription Available

There are moments when a familiar Scripture suddenly feels brand new—when a single phrase stands out and reshapes our understanding. Micah 6:8 is one of those verses. Many of us know it well: “act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.” But the phrase love mercy carries a depth that’s easy to overlook. It’s one thing to show mercy. It’s another to love it. Often, we extend mercy out of obligation. We forgive because we know we should. We let things go because it’s the “right” thing to do. But inwardly, our hearts may still be wrestling with hurt, resentment, or reluctance. True transformation happens when mercy is not just practiced—but embraced. Loving mercy means allowing God to reshape our hearts so that compassion becomes our natural response. This can feel especially difficult when we’ve been deeply hurt. Pain has a way of narrowing our perspective. We see the offense clearly, but it’s harder to see the person behind it. Yet Scripture reminds us that vengeance belongs to God (Romans 12:19). We are not called to carry the weight of justice—we are called to reflect the heart of God. And God is merciful. Psalm 103:8 describes Him as “merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.” Mercy isn’t just something God does—it’s part of who He is. As we grow closer to Him, His character begins to shape ours. Through God’s eyes, we begin to see differently. Instead of only seeing the hurt, we start to recognize brokenness in others. Instead of withholding grace, we begin to extend it. Not because it’s easy, but because God empowers us to do what we cannot do on our own. Loving mercy doesn’t mean ignoring pain or pretending it didn’t happen. It means choosing to release it to God and allowing His love to flow through us anyway. And in that process, something beautiful happens: we experience more of God Himself. Main Takeaways God calls us not just to show mercy, but to love it. Mercy rooted in obligation is different from mercy rooted in love. We are not responsible for justice—God is. Seeing others through God’s eyes helps us extend compassion. As we grow closer to God, His merciful character shapes our hearts. Today’s Bible Verse “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8, NIV Your Daily Prayer Prayer excerpt for listeners: “Lord, help me not only show mercy, but truly love it as You do.” Listen to the full prayer here. But the law was never meant to rescue us; it was meant to reveal our need for a Savior. Through God's promise, fulfilled in Christ, everything changes. Now, in Christ, we are no longer prisoners—we are sons and daughters of God. Fully accepted. Fully covered. Fully loved. And through Christ, we are heirs to the promise, united as one family, no longer defined by our past, our status, or our differences. This message is a clear and compelling reminder: you don't earn your identity—you receive it by faith. The gospel doesn't just forgive you; it gives you a new name, a new standing, and a new future.Whether you're exploring faith or need to be reminded of who you are in Jesus, this episode invites you to stop striving and start living in the freedom of the true gospel. There is no other gospel.Do you know JESUS?: https://www.nblongview.org/do-you-know-jesusNeed PRAYER?: https://www.nblongview.org/praySUPPORT through giving: https://www.nbbctx.org/giving

Life often confronts us with unexpected ruins - shattered dreams, broken relationships, or lost purpose. The prophet Ezekiel faced this when his priestly calling was destroyed by exile to Babylon. In a vision, God showed him a valley of dry bones and asked if they could live. Through God's word, the bones came together and received life. This same power is available to us through Jesus, who declared He is the resurrection and the life. No matter what valley of dry bones we face, God's word can bring restoration and hope to seemingly hopeless situations. Special Note: As you know, we typically record our episodes in advance. This episode was recorded at the beginning of 2026 so you'll hear a lot about being in a new year with focus on new beginnings. And while we are already well into Lent, Jodi Snowdon's message is powerful no matter what season we find ourselves in. We hope you enjoy this episode. ***ShownotesWe're in a New Year, new year's resolutions, a time for transformation and often in grief, we have mixed feelings. On one end, it's a fresh start, an opportunity to look to change, but on the other end, we move  into uncharted waters and the grief and heartbreak follow with us. We ask those simple questions.  God, it's supposed to be a new year. Why do I still feel miserable? Why hasn't this pain ended? How much longer do I need to stay in this space? But this is also where God meets us and the true transformation begins.  In this episode, we are going to talk about why not one moment of suffering is wasted and how each of these moments can actually turn us into who God wants us to be. Our GuestJodi Snowdon is an author, podcaster, and speaker who helps women grow deeper in their faith and stronger in their relationships. Through God's strength, she emerged from miscarriage, divorce, and losing a dear friend to cancer to help women everywhere experience hope, joy, and purpose through life's unexpected storms. She is raising two sons (one in college and one adulting) in Southern California and would love to connect with you on her website, jodisnowdon.com or on Instagram @jodi.snowdonScripturePsalm 34:18-19John 14:272 Cor 1:3-4Jeremiah 17:7-8Psalm 1:3LinksAngel Oak TreeKinstugiMichelangelo's Pietà statue“Praise You in the Storm” by Casting Crowns“Glory Baby” by WatermarkGrieving the Child I Never Knew: A Devotional for Comfort in the Loss of Your Unborn or Newly Born Child by Kathe WunnenbergHope in the Dark by Craig Grischell Prayer for the soul of Jodi's mom with Dementia Journaling QuestionsJodi uses the analogy of a cracked pot to describe brokenness but also that it can be glued together. What happens when humanity attempts unity without God? In Genesis 11's Tower of Babel story, Pastor Van explores how civic religion—using religious symbols for earthly gain—leads to division and destruction. Through God's mercy, He scattered people into different languages and nations, not as punishment but as protection from human pride. Yet in Acts 2, we glimpse God's ultimate plan: true unity through Jesus Christ, where every nation, tribe and tongue worships together while celebrating their God-given diversity. Don't miss this powerful message about finding genuine unity in Christ alone.

Inn this powerful and encouraging session, Pastor Richard Nickerson taught from 1 Samuel 30 and Joel 2, releasing a timely word on restoration and recovery. Drawing from Scripture, he emphasized the divine partnership between God and His people; God brings restoration, and we are empowered to recover what was lost. This teaching reminded listeners that recovery is not passive. Through God's restoring work, believers are given authority, strength, and clarity to pursue what was taken and reclaim what belongs to them. As we continue this season of consecration, this word affirmed that loss is not the end of the story and that God's restoration positions us for intentional recovery. Before closing in prayer, Pastor Nickerson offered a moving prayer over Overseer Azizah Morrison, acknowledging her call and assignment to lead God's people through this 40-day fast, and invited the community to pray for her as she has faithfully prayed for them. This session was both strengthening and affirming, calling God's people to step forward in faith, partnership, and expectation as restoration leads to recovery.
