Have an episode suggestion? Text us!You've probably heard the saying, “A drunk man's words are a sober man's thoughts” But is that really true? In this episode, we break down drunken honesty and get real about what alcohol does (and doesn't) change. From the science of lowered inhibitions to the deeper beliefs and resentments that surface when the filter drops, we explore why it's not just about what was said in the moment but about the patterns that reveal who someone really is.Most importantly, we shift the focus away from dissecting intent and toward the impact these words and behaviors have on you. Whether they meant it or not, the harm is real and you don't have to play detective to figure it out.Find video clips and full length video from this episode on YouTube and our other social media pages! On the web:www.twfo.comSupport the Show:Buy Us a Coffee!Online Program: www.independentlystrong.comSoberlink Device:www.soberlink.com/wheelsCheck out our blog:https://twfo.com/blogFollow us on TikTok:https://tiktok.com/@twfo_coupleFollow us on Instagram:https://instagram.com/twfo_couple/Follow us on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/TWFOCoupleFollow us on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/@twfo_coupleFind Taylor Counseling Group:https://taylorcounselinggroup.com/Donate to Counseling for the Future Foundation:Donate Here
Have an episode suggestion? Text us!In this Mindset Monday, Matt tackles a listener's question about “living amends” - why they're often a cop-out in recovery and never enough to repair a relationship. He breaks down why true amends require naming the harm, validating the pain, and offering repair, and why skipping this step leaves partners carrying the past alone. From there, the episode shifts into a powerful conversation on acceptance and how it can serve as a spiritual foundation for many people lost on spiritual matters. Matt explores the difference between spirituality and religion, the research showing why people with some form of higher power tend to be happier and more resilient, and how to build your own spiritual framework starting with your values. The result is an unflinching but hopeful roadmap: real repair in relationships, acceptance as freedom, and spirituality as a compass for life.Find video clips and full length video from this episode on YouTube and our other social media pages! On the web:www.twfo.comSupport the Show:Buy Us a Coffee!Online Program: www.independentlystrong.comSoberlink Device:www.soberlink.com/wheelsCheck out our blog:https://twfo.com/blogFollow us on TikTok:https://tiktok.com/@twfo_coupleFollow us on Instagram:https://instagram.com/twfo_couple/Follow us on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/TWFOCoupleFollow us on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/@twfo_coupleFind Taylor Counseling Group:https://taylorcounselinggroup.com/Donate to Counseling for the Future Foundation:Donate Here
Send us a textOn this week's "from the vault" episode;A relatively short podcast. I mainly talk about why a program to heal your pelvic floor can not really be done/purchased online where as a program to heal Diastasis Recti can. There are some excellent pelvic floor specialists on Instagram and a lot of the information they give is very useful however I personally wouldn't recommend you invest in any of their programs without a physical examination first. In the news this week I briefly talk about an article one of my clients sent me. This article from the BBC about safety levels for PFAS, ( Perfluoroalkyl substances), of UK drinking water. I am trying to find someone to come onto the podcast and talk about householdchemicals, PFAs included, but still thought I'd mention it. The article is based on this episode of the, excellent, "Costing the Earth" program on BBC Radio4. Do check it out if you're UK based, Reminder; HPNB still only has 5 billing cycles. So this means that you not only get 3 months FREE access, no obligation! BUT, if you decide you want to do the rest of the program, after only 5 months of paying $10/£8 a month you now get FREE LIFE TIME ACCESS! That's $50 max spend, in case you were wondering. Though I'm not terribly active on Instagram and Facebook you can follow us there. I am however active on Threads so find me there! And, of course, you can always find us on our YouTube channel if you like your podcast in video form :) Visit healthypostnatalbody.com and get 3 months completely FREE access. No sales, no commitment, no BS. Email peter@healthypostnatalbody.com if you have any questions, comments or want to suggest a guest. If you could rate the podcast on your favourite platform that would be a big help.
Have an episode suggestion? Text us!In this episode of Paige's Perspective, we're talking about the power of change and choices. How many times have you thought, “I've messed up. I'll never change. I'll never be enough”? Maybe it was after snapping at your kids, numbing out with your phone, or slipping back into an old pattern. One bad moment doesn't define you. It's what you choose to do next that matters. Neuroscience shows us that every time we make a new choice, our brains rewire to make that path clearer and easier. Guilt and shame aren't proof you're broken; they're signals that something needs to shift, and they can become fuel for growth if you let them.In this episode, I'll share practical tools for shrinking your focus down to the next choice, labeling the old trails that keep you stuck, and celebrating the small wins that add up to big transformation.Because every new choice is a chance to write a different story. And the power to choose again is always in your hands.Find video clips and full length video from this episode on YouTube and our other social media pages!

Text us!When your child's tone, excuses, or sneaky moments feel eerily familiar, it can trigger real fear - are we replaying my partner's behaviors? In this episode, we unpack the difference between normal child development and harmful adult patterns. We dig into nature vs. nurture (genes load the gun; environment pulls the trigger), why kids' emotional immaturity is expected while adult immaturity is damaging, and how to respond without projecting old wounds onto your child. You'll learn simple, repeatable tools: name the trigger (“I'm reacting to my spouse, not my kid”), pause before correcting, teach emotional language, model repair and accountability, hold consistent boundaries, and spot the red flags that deserve closer attention. We'll also share how one stable, nurturing parent can shift a child's trajectory - and why your day-to-day modeling matters more than DNA.Find video clips and full length video from this episode on YouTube and our other social media pages!
Text us!We've all heard it: “At least he's a good dad.” It sounds comforting, but it's often a cover for hard truths. In this Mindset Monday, we dig deep into what fatherhood really means - and why showing up at games, birthday parties, or posting highlight-reel moments doesn't make the cut. You cannot be a bad husband and a good dad.We break down the myths that underlying ideas and biases that keep this narrative alive - visibility bias, selective memory, social reinforcement - and how they let men claim the title of “good dad” while leaving their families with the real weight of dysfunction. We challenge the idea that you can separate being a father from being a husband, making the case that the two are inseparable: you cannot mistreat your partner, live in dishonesty, or create chaos at home and still call yourself a good dad.Together, we raise the bar for what fatherhood should mean today: integrity, consistency, emotional safety, shared mental load, and modeling love through respect. We ask the hard questions: Would you want your daughter to marry a man like you? Do your kids feel safer when mom is around? Are you raising children who know what love looks like - or kids who will spend years recovering from the absence of it?This episode isn't about crushing anyone's spirit - it's about lifting men higher, giving spouses language to see the full picture, and inviting all of us to stop settling for the bare minimum. When we raise the standard for dads, we change families, marriages, and future generations.Find video clips and full length video from this episode on YouTube and our other social media pages!

Text us!“How do I support their recovery?” is probably the most common question families ask in addiction recovery, but the answers they get are often vague, contradictory, and unfair. In this episode, we unpack what treatment centers hand out to families, why so much of it is confusing, and what support really means. We talk about boundaries as a form of support, why encouragement and space matter, the role of positive reinforcement, and the hard truth that you cannot guarantee someone else's recovery. You can support people in recovery, but you can't recover for them. Besides some discussion on what functional and emotional support for someone in recovery could actually look like, we're going to discuss what you can do - protect your dignity, your safety, and your future.Find video clips and full length video from this episode on YouTube and our other social media pages! On the web:www.twfo.comSupport the Show:Buy Us a Coffee!Online Program: www.independentlystrong.comSoberlink Device:www.soberlink.com/wheelsCheck out our blog:https://twfo.com/blogFollow us on TikTok:https://tiktok.com/@twfo_coupleFollow us on Instagram:https://instagram.com/twfo_couple/Follow us on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/TWFOCoupleFollow us on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/@twfo_coupleFind Taylor Counseling Group:https://taylorcounselinggroup.com/Donate to Counseling for the Future Foundation:Donate Here
In this episode, I'm sitting down with Dr. Sam Casey, founder of the Play Prescription Method, to explore one of the most common challenges therapists face: having an encyclopedia of knowledge but feeling completely stuck when it comes to packaging it into something teachable. If you've ever felt paralysed by your own expertise, this conversation is for you. Sam had a PhD, extensive research, clinical expertise as a registered play therapist, and a brilliant framework she'd developed. But when it came to creating her certification program? She was completely stuck. The breakthrough came when she realised she didn't need to include everything in version one. Sometimes the answer isn't adding more content — it's giving yourself permission to simplify and start imperfectly. In this episode, Sam shares her journey from PhD paralysis to launching a 16-week certification that students call "transformational." We dive deep into her Play Prescription Method, which makes therapeutic play accessible beyond the therapy room, and explore how she's challenging traditional gatekeeping in mental health by equipping professionals and parents with practical healing tools.HERE ARE THE 3 KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THIS EPISODE:Your expertise can be your biggest obstacle – The more you know, the harder it becomes to decide what to include. Sam's breakthrough came from watching how I'd simplified years of knowledge in the incubator, giving her permission to do the same.Breaking cycles happens on multiple levels – Sam isn't just helping families break generational patterns through play; she's helping therapists break professional cycles of perfectionism and gatekeeping knowledge.Therapeutic play belongs beyond therapy rooms – Sam's framework equips educators, coaches, doulas, and parents with trauma-informed tools to support children's healing and growth in everyday settings, not just clinical ones.RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE:If this conversation resonates and you're ready to turn your clinical expertise into a structured program, join me for the From Caseload to Course Bootcamp, running Sept 23-26, 2025.For just $37, I'll guide you through how to map, price, and structure your first ethical online program using frameworks designed specifically for therapists - just like Sam did with her Play Prescription Method. In four focused days, you'll move from feeling paralysed by your expertise to having a clear roadmap for packaging your knowledge into something people can actually use.

You've built your course. Your modules are mapped, your portal's prepped, your curriculum is solid. And then someone asks: “So… where's the community space?”Cue the existential spiral.Because as a therapist, “community” doesn't just mean “extra feature.” It means emotional responsibility. Boundary navigation. And the very real possibility that you'll end up holding space you never consented to.But here's the truth most business coaches skip:When done well, a community component can dramatically improve your program's completion rates, referrals, and student transformation—without draining you.In this episode, we're unpacking the therapist-specific risks of community spaces, the must-have boundaries most course creators miss, and the systems that make a group feel alive without requiring you to be on call 24/7.This isn't just about connection. It's about creating containers that hold your students—and hold you, too. What You'll Learn in This Episode: Why adding a community component often improves completion, retention, and referrals (And how connection helps your students regulate and actually finish the program.) Are you struggling to price your online program with confidence? Do you second-guess yourself when setting price points, even though you KNOW your content delivers incredible transformation? In this value-packed episode, I'm diving deep into the psychology behind pricing your therapy programs. We're moving beyond "what to charge" into the more powerful territory of "WHY to charge it" — because understanding the true value of your expertise is the key to pricing with confidence.Building on last week's breakdown of what therapists are currently charging in Episode 176, this episode gives you practical frameworks to calculate your program's specific value. I share the exact formulas that have helped hundreds of therapists in our community price their programs at premium rates that reflect their true worth. In this episode, I share:The critical shift from cost-based to value-based pricing (and why this mindset change is essential for therapists)The Transformation Equation that quantifies your program's value based on pain level, urgency, market demand, and accessibilityHow to use the Premium Positioning Matrix to strategically place your program in high-value quadrantsWhy information alone has minimal value—and how to position your program as a transformation vehiclePractical steps to overcome the pricing paradox that keeps most therapists underchargingThis isn't just about making more money—it's about creating alignment between the value you provide and how you price it. When you charge what your program is truly worth, everyone wins: you receive fair compensation, and your clients invest at a level that drives their commitment and results.Rate, Review, & Follow on Apple PodcastsLove this episode? In this enlightening conversation, I sat down with Corey Jackson, a prominent figure in mindfulness research and emotional regulation, to explore the intricate world of mindfulness and metacognitive approaches to emotion. We traversed through the realms of Buddhist psychology, the impact of mindfulness on anxiety and depression, and the importance of attentional control. What You'll Learn: Mindfulness and Metacognitive Therapy: Corey discussed the differences between traditional cognitive-behavioural models and metacognitive models. He detailed how the latter focuses on metacognitive beliefs and how adjusting these beliefs can affect anxiety and depression more effectively. This model, often overlooked, offers a promising avenue for those dealing with mental health challenges. Attention and Its Role: Corey and I delved into the critical aspect of attention in shaping our reality. Drawing parallels with William James's theories and contemporary neuroscience, we examined how controlled attention can lead to better emotional regulation. Corey emphasised the importance of knowing not just what you pay attention to, but how you attend to it, and how this awareness can transform your emotional and psychological well-being. Traditional vs. Modern Mindfulness Practices: A significant portion of our conversation focused on comparing traditional Buddhist mindfulness practices with the modern, often simplified versions popularised in the West. Corey highlighted the rich history and depth of traditional practices, which often encompass a broader system of mental cultivation beyond just breath awareness. The Importance of Judgments: We explored the role of judgments in our mental and emotional lives. Corey challenged the popular Western notion of nonjudgmental awareness, explaining how traditional practices encouraged good judgment to guide behaviour aligned with personal goals and virtues. The Role of Emotions: Corey shared insights from his work with emotional balance, particularly how emotions serve as signposts indicating important events. We discussed strategies from both Eastern and Western philosophies to manage emotions, transform emotional states, and cultivate a balanced emotional life. Key Takeaways: Mindfulness as a Multifaceted Tool Attention and Emotional Control Judgment is Crucial Traditional Practices Hold Rich Insights Emotions are Indicative, Not the Enemy Resources: Visit Corey Jackson's website for more about his work and offerings. In this episode of The Leveraged Practice Podcast, host Stephanie Clairmont dives into the journey of creating consistent, daily revenue from online programs, courses, and memberships. If you're a health or wellness professional looking to scale your business beyond one-to-one client sessions, this episode is packed with valuable insights. Episode Highlights: Breaking the Revenue Ceiling: Stephanie explains how online programs allow health and wellness practitioners to move away from the limits of one-to-one sessions. By creating online offerings, practitioners can build a "sales-per-day" system that doesn't rely on trading time for money. From $99 Failure to Daily Sales Success: Stephanie shares her early struggles with launching an online product and the lessons she learned along the way. Starting with a single $99 sale from her email list of 5,000, she didn't give up—instead, she refined her approach to online marketing and developed a system that now generates a sale every day. The Power of Sampling: Stephanie introduces the concept of “sampling” as an essential part of online sales. Much like a food sample at Costco, a carefully designed lead magnet or freebie can help potential clients experience a taste of your program's value, enticing them to invest in the full offering. Visibility and Trust: Building a trusted, visible brand is crucial for consistent sales. Stephanie discusses the importance of guest appearances, collaborations, and sharing valuable content to establish authority in the wellness space. Free Training Opportunity: To dive deeper into the art of effective lead magnets and how to build a system for daily sales, Stephanie is hosting a live class, "From Clicks to Clients". Health professionals can join for free to learn how to create powerful lead magnets that attract more clients. These proven strategies have been used with hundreds of clients since 2015 to grow email lists with leads and fill health programs consistently. Register Now
