In the privacy of his Sanctum Sanctorum, Stephen Strange turns to the Book of the Vishanti... This back-up set the stage for "The Vampiric Verses," a storyline that would signal the return of vampires to the Marvel universe. We used it as an opportunity to look back at some of the big beats in the story of Jack and his ancestors. Nostalgia!

The multiverse explodes with more characters, cameos, and fan service than you can shake a Book of Vishanti at in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness! Join Jeff, Dave, Steve, AND John as they dive headfirst into the second solo movie for the Master of the Mystic Arts!
Sooo…Wanda aka The Scarlet Witch needs the book of Vishanti to control the multi verse so she can be a full time mom. Yep! That's the plot. She will kill as many people as she has to so she can raise some ungrateful little brats. Thanks to Dr. Strange, Wong and others will stop at nothing to stop her from being a parent! Join Ciaran and Trevor as they discuss this insane plot and why Sam Raimi should of directed Morbius. Enjoy! #Doctor Strange
Nachdem wir SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME nachgeholt hatten, ging es ins Kino, um DR. STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS zu sehen. Regie: Sam Raimi. Der sehenswertere Multiversumsfilm ist dann doch EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE. Skeptic Generation is excited to have a friend and co-host from another life, Kevin S join us today! We have some difficult things to discuss after the Roe v Wade decision news, but we also want to make sure we're staying on course on our own mission: taking bad ideas to task. Do you think your beliefs should be *our* beliefs? Do you believe in a globalist agenda, aliens, or other grand conspiracy? Now the caller has deconverted, but his friend is still deep in it… and has gone even further. This friend now believes that they are demon possessed and cannot leave the house. How do you reckon with the guilt, and what can Chris do to help? 25:47 Repeat caller Vishanti is fed up with progressive Christians washing their hands of the radical Christofascist Right. What can they do to deal emotionally and practically with these bad actors, and what do we risk if they don't? Speaking of bad actors, we dump on Mr. Delicieux for a while which is oddly cathartic. If you want to share the cringe, check out the other week's clip: https://youtu.be/gbdJHNknzyc 37:47This religious caller is not a Christian, and feels threatened by the Christian nationalist agenda in the United States. Deeply scared, in fact. Special guest Kevin has some crucial takes on why things are so dark right now, and he isn't afraid to call a spade a spade. 47:40 People have to be more willing to give themselves more credit, and give God less credit. You've done the thing yourself! Just a cheerful reminder from a repeat caller! 52:25 We discussed “debate bros” the other week. Now this caller wants to defend Destiny for being a champion for having the hard conversations. According to this caller, there is no such thing as “platforming a bad idea” and you should give everyone who wants to debate the rights of others a microphone. In general, he has lots of opinions on how we should run our show. Maybe he should start his own? Marvel Film in unserer 30. The newest MCU entry of Dr. Strange and MoM hit theaters a few weeks and - people got me sweating. We need to address that Wanda is a bad person. Like - she's not one to emulate. I see so many people putting her on this weird momma pedestal and like… no. We need to talk about this. As someone who is now the parent of two precious and wonderful bebes, I need to be very clear that this is not a movie about protecting children. It's a movie about being corrupted beyond belief. How can we learn from the lesson of the Darkhold and Dr Strange? Will I manage to get through this without absolutely getting myself canceled for hating on a Marvel movie? Let's talk about it. By the Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth and the slithering spirits of the Vishanti, it's a Doctor Strange themed episode of the Xtinction Agenda! Watch Brian K. Vaughan slip on a banana peel in Doctor Strange: The Oath. Then thrill(!) at the unholy union of speed and LSD that is Steve Englehart's and Gene Colan's mid-70s stint on Doctor Strange, Master of the Mystic Arts. "Don't you ever get wise?"
By The Book of Vishanti! The Marvel Cinematic Universe has delivered one of it's most ambitious projects to date with Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness directed by Marvel movie pioneer and cult horror filmmaker, Sam Raimi. The film, neverthess, is a direct follow up from both Spider-Man No Way Home and Disney Plus' WandaVision, thrusting Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlett Witch as Doctor Stephen Strange's antogonist. Strange of course is as always masterfully portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch, returning to fulfill his franchise duties but this time carrying the weight of the MCU's phase on his shoulders. Certainly a tall order for the Veteran Brit actor extraordinaire. But how do the fanboys of TBC_afc really feel about this wacky comicbook adventure brought to screen? #illuminati #mustnotspoil

The Defenders are back in the cinema for Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen and Xochitl Gomez. We chat about every moment in spoiler filled detail in our latest podcast. Synopsis for our Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness Movie Review Directed by: Sam Raimi Written by: Michael Waldron Based on characters by - Steve Ditko and Stan Lee Chased by a demon in the space between universes while searching for the Book of Vishanti, America Chavez has a power that the demon wants. Both Chavez and Defender Strange are unable to escape. With Chavez captured by the demon, and with Strange injured and weakened, she will die if her power is extracted from her by the demon. Seeing no alternative, Defender Strange's only option is to take the power himself, killing Chavez. But Strange is killed and Chavez accidentally creates a portal with her power that transports her and Strange's corpse to Earth-616, where Doctor Stephen Strange and the Sorcerer Supreme, Wong, rescue Chavez from a rune studded octopus demon. Recognizing the runes on the demon, Strange consults Wanda Maximoff for help, but he realizes that she is responsible for the attacks. After acquiring the Darkhold and becoming the Scarlet Witch, Maximoff believes that controlling Chavez's powers will allow her to reunite with her children Billy and Tommy, taken from another universe, after she lost them in Westview. Strange refuses to surrender Chavez to Wanda, and she unleashes the Scarlet Witch against Kamar-Taj, killing many sorcerers. As she hunts Chavez in the ruins of Kamar-Taj, Chavez with no control of her power once again accidentally transports herself and Strange to Earth-838. Wanda uses the Darkhold to pursue Strange and Chavez by "dream-walking". She takes control of her Earth-838 counterpart, but is thwarted by a surviving sorceress in Kamar Taj who sacrifices herself to destroy the Darkhold and break the dream-walk. Enraged, Maximoff forces Wong to lead her to Mount Wundagore, a forbidden ancient ruin, to reestablish the dream-walk. While searching for help and trying to stop the Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange realises his counterparts in other universes have taken many different trajectories, but in each one he realises that his feelings for Christine Palmer have been the same. As Stephen, America and Christine escape Earth-838, their hope to retrieve the Book of Vishanti is crushed as Wanda destroys it. She takes over Chavez's mind, using her powers to send the others to an incursion-destroyed universe. Back in Earth-616, at Mount Wundagore, Maximoff begins the spell to take Chavez's powers. In the incursion destroyed universe, Strange uses its Darkhold to dream-walk in the corpse of the deceased Defender Strange back on Earth-616. With Wong's help, Strange saves Chavez from Wanda. Encouraging her to use her abilities, Chavez transports Wanda to Earth-838, where she sees Billy and Tommy recoil from her in fear while crying for their real mother. Wanda relents and uses her powers to bring down Mount Wundagore, destroying all copies of the Darkhold throughout the multiverse and apparently sacrificing herself in the process. With the threat of the Scarlet Witch gone, Chavez begins training at Kamar-Taj and Doctor Strange's use of the Darkhold has unintended consequences. In a mid-credits scene, Doctor Strange is approached by a sorceress who warns him that his actions have triggered an incursion that he must help fix. Skywalking Through Neverland: A Star Wars / Disney Fan Podcast
It's a special Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness bonus episode! Doctor Strange and Wanda Maximoff, now Scarlet Witch, must contend with what they both have done to the Multiverse. In this episode, Richard and Sarah break down the film and share their thoughts on the characters, genre and scenes. Where do our favorite characters go from here?? What do we think of a horror film in the MCU? We also share your thoughts, too. As with any of our breakdowns, this episode DOES contain spoilers. Full Synopsis: The film opens as America Chavez and an alternate version of Doctor Strange flee through the space between universes to find the Book of Vishanti to stop a demon chasing them. (The Book of the Vishanti contains spells of defensive magic and is indestructible. Its counterpart, the Darkhold, contains all the knowledge of black magic). Chavez makes it to Earth-616 and is saved by Doctor Strange and Sorcerer Supreme Wong. She tells them that she is being hunted because she has the power to travel through the multiverse. They soon realize it was Wanda who is hunting Chavez down to gain her power so she can cross the multiverse and find her kids, Billy and Tommy. When Strange refuses to surrender Chavez, Wanda attacks Kamar-Taj, killing many acolytes. Chavez then accidentally transports herself and Strange across the multiverse to Earth-838. While searching for help, Strange and Chavez are arrested by Earth-838's Karl Mordo and brought before the Illuminati, which consists of Mordo himself, Captain Peggy Carter (from the animated series, What If?), King Black Bolt (who is part of the Inhumans), Captain Maria Rambeau (from Captain Marvel), Doctor Reed Richards (from the FF), and Professor Charles Xavier (from the X-Men). Mordo believes our Earth's Strange is dangerous, but before they can pass judgment, Wanda arrives and kills the Illuminati, except Mordo. Strange and Chavez escape with help from Strange's ex-fiancé Christine Palmer, who is an Illuminati scientist in this multiverse. Escaping from Wanda, the three enter the space between universes to find the Book of Vishanti, but Wanda appears and takes over Chavez's mind, using her powers to send the others to a sinister, mostly-destroyed universe. Strange and Palmer fight the sinister universe's Strange, who has been corrupted by the Darkhold. Strange uses this Darkhold to dream-walk into the corpse of the alternate Strange which remained on Earth-616 and save Chavez. Unable to overpower Wanda, Chavez instead transports her back to Earth-838, allowing Billy and Tommy to witness her evil. The kids are terrified by Wanda, who is there as the Scarlet Witch, but after realizing how much death and destruction she's caused, Wanda uses her powers to destroy all copies of the Darkhold throughout the multiverse, seemingly sacrificing herself in the process. Before Christine returns to Earth-838, Strange tells her that he still loves his universe's Christine but has always been too scared to have a real relationship. Soundscapes: Avengers Campus Follow along with the show notes below! Want More Here With The Magic? Visit The Website: https://herewiththemagic.com Watch Here: https://www.youtube.com/HereWithTheMagic Connect on social media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/herewiththemagic Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/herewiththemagic/ ---------- (2:50) Long before the Avengers set up headquarters on this land at Disney's California Adventure, it was held by a group of mystical sorcerers known as the Vishanti, who protected the Earth's entire dimension and whose supernatural power could be transferred to human beings worthy of its possession. A young and ambitious Howard Stark, who was intrigued by the celestial properties of this place, found himself drawn to and inspired by its secrets. He laid the foundation for what is now a place of innovation and creativity, inspiration and, you guessed it, Magic. When Tony Stark inherited the campus from his father, it became a beacon of hope and opportunity unlike ever before. Renowned and brilliant minds from across every dimension of the universe have come to this place to hone their skills, better their talents, and work toward creating a brighter future for all. The energy that pulses through this place is undeniable; it sweeps us along on an unforgettable journey. The music, the movement, the otherworldly enigma…it's all part of the Magic of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Here, we find stories which have defined the popular culture of generations, and we are invited to be part of it all. (9:12) Up ahead, WEB Headquarters is an impressive introduction to Stark's vision for a Campus of superior minds. The youngest Avenger with the biggest heart and the most to prove, Peter Parker utilizes this space for research and design, an apprenticeship under the watchful eye of his mentor, Iron Man. While his desire to succeed and impress his superhero idols generally outweighs his professional finesse, the atmosphere of being Here where science and Magic converge and history is made is enough to make us forget the world we've left behind entirely. (10:30) Prototypical Spider-Bots run rampant through the WEB open house, where unsuspecting guests are called upon to test the limits of Peter's latest invention to rid the place of the mutating arachnids. Interfacing with the latest Stark technology, we get to be part of the action and sling webs right along with Spider-Man himself. Across the way, at Web Suppliers, the most unfazed among us can interact with and even take home a Spider-Bot of our very own, whether as a token of their accomplishment or a sort of sidekick. Their mechanical clicking redirects our attention this way and that, to street vendors demonstrating their abilities and onto the sides of buildings, where they skitter and scuttle for a better view of visitors below. (13:45) A serene departure from the eight-legged articulation of WEB, a tinkling of strange and ethereal instruments calls us into The Ancient Sanctum of the judicious Doctor Strange. Here, we become cognizant of entering hallowed ground, where immortal ruins liberated from beneath their spells of concealment reveal the presence of Magic in this place. Flowing with an intriguing, pulsating force, the secrets of the mystic arts breathe with the power of the multiverse in this space, echoing with enchantment and a stillness that transcends this world. At nightfall, we are engulfed in a vibrant, violet glow that settles over the temple, bringing it to life in a whole new way. Hidden for centuries in the hills of Los Angeles, The Ancient Sanctum is unveiled for all who desire to find knowledge and enlightenment. It is a transformational space, a sort of phenomenon of tranquility in the midst of so much action and excitement. It all melts away in the glow of the lantern light. Whatever realm of the multiverse we have entered, there is a paradoxical, grounding sense of presence and peace found Here. (18:46) At the heart of Avengers Campus stands the unmistakable, formidable Avengers Headquarters. A shining, slanted “A” leaves no room for misinterpretation: this is where Earth's mightiest heroes gather to train and demonstrate their abilities. The Avengers are almost certainly in residence; the gleaming Quinjet on the roof poised and ready for anything at a moment's notice. Black Widow might be seen scanning the surroundings for oncoming threats from her black Jeep on the South side of Headquarters, and we might even catch Captain America himself on the lookout from several stories up. Captain Marvel, Thor, Ant-Man, Black Panther and so many other iconic members of this elite team can be spotted throughout the day and into the evening, greeting new recruits and standing ready, as ever, for whatever might come. (19:40) Eyes diverted upward on all sides are wide with awe, the quintessential Avengers theme rumbling in our ears. Converging on the line between fantasy and reality, we are transported to some alternate dimension from the one we inhabit. We are standing in tangible awareness that our childhood daydreams are Here, surrounding us, no longer fabrications of our imaginations. We are overwhelmed by a sense of joy that we so often forget in adulthood. It is larger than life, bigger than us, and it was waiting for us all the time. This place could not be described as anything but awesome. (21:35) Speaking of larger than life: as the Avengers campus grew to accommodate more and more universal superpowers, it became apparent to two individuals that they would need to find an efficient way to feed everyone. Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne, otherwise known as Ant-Man and The Wasp, came up with the clever concept of PYM's Test Kitchen to meet that need. Here, we find curiously altered comfort foods which have been grown or shrunk by PYM particles to suit each Avenger's appetite. Craving a pretzel the size of Cap's shield? A quantum tunnel will size that up for sharing with our whole crew. How about a Not-So-Little chicken sandwich? The mechanics and science at work in this place even have our experimental concoctions served up on lab paper so we can be part of the project. (24:50) And even though the aroma of freshly baked bread and Impossibly large meatballs is hard to resist, the sound of a friendly, neighborhood voice in the distance brings us back to WEB Headquarters to see what other surprises might be in store. Could it be the web-slinger himself, Spider-Man? (25:18) Indeed, it is! High atop the WEB Headquarters lab, Peter Parker is demonstrating the capabilities of his latest suit prototype for a crowd of admirers. His youthful energy and excitement are infectious, and watching him test his limits is a reminder to all of us that the greatest heroes can come from anywhere, even a tiny apartment in Queens. (27:24) Maybe not all of us dream of being superheroes. Maybe some of us feel heroic when we make it through the day. But if this ragtag bunch of Avengers can teach us anything, it's that gumption and grit will get you farther than whatever advantages you might perceive are the right ones to have. It doesn't matter what your everyday looks like, whether your commute is on a train from Queens to Manhattan or the Bifröst from Asgard, what matters is that you look for possibilities wherever you can. When he finally picked up his pen to tell the story of his own life, Stan Lee said this of the incredible universe he created: “Marvel is a cornucopia of fantasy, a wild idea, a swashbuckling attitude, an escape from the humdrum and the prosaic. It's a serendipitous feast for the mind, the eye, the imagination, a literate celebration of unbridled creativity, coupled with a touch of rebellion and an insolent desire to spit in the eye of the dragon.” That touch of rebellion, that defiance in the wake of all that reality impresses upon our consciousness…that is where time and age cease to have any power over us. That is where our youthful hope remains intact; our desire to celebrate moments big and small. That is the space where inspiration comes to us, where ideas are born. A protective shield and a talisman for the imagination, Here is where Magic assembles right before our eyes, a squadron of defiant dreamers. Be one of them. Be Here With the Magic.

Join us for Summer of Strange part 3 for our Doctor Strange Animated Movie Review. We discuss our Top 5 points as usual about this interesting in depth take on the universe of the Sorcerer Supreme, Baron Mordo's leadership, the treatment of the Ancient One and the many many character deaths in this animated take from Marvel and Lionsgate animation. Synopsis for our Doctor Strange Animated Movie Review Directed by Patrick Archibald, Jay Oliva and Dick Sebast Screenplay by Greg Johnson Story by Greg Johnson and Craig Kyle New York is under increasing attack from mystical forces and foes that it's inhabitants can neither see nor perceive. But a talented yet arrogant neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange (Bryce Johnson) begins to see wisps of unknown creatures and also starts to connect psychically with the nightmares of an alarming number of child patients admitted to hospitals across New York. Whilst he shrugs these occurrences off he is involved in a severe car accident leaving him with crippling injuries to his hands. Searching across the world for a cure to his injured hands Stephen Strange travels to far-off Tibet to receive physical and spiritual healing from the renowned Ancient One (Michael Yama). Initially blunt, presumptuous and sceptical of this "healing" Strange is opened up to a world of magical energy by the Ancient One and Wong (Paul Nakauchi). As he develops his mystical powers he is told of his destiny to become earth's Sorcerer Supreme. However, another student of the mystical arts Mordo (Kevin Michael Richardson) become jealous of Strange and the attention being placed on him by the Ancient One and Wong betrays them all to Dormammu (Jonathan Adams) from the Dark Dimension who is using the comatose children to conquer the world. As they face down this evil threat Stephen Strange uses his new abilities to fight Dormmamu, but soon realises that despite all his immense power he cannot save everyone.
