So how about it you lot? One last rant? It's time to end The Boys with a final wrap all about season 5. Join us one last time (until Vought Rising) for a rant about not getting enough bad guy Butcher, getting too much Frenchie, the perfect endings for Deep, A-Train and, of course, Homelander, many full circle moments, some serious flip flopping, some unfair accusations and whether or not it IS what Clara would have wanted. And a massive thank you to all our guests and ,of course, YOU the listener, for sticking with us through it all. MonoRants will return for Vought Rising. After the crazy success of the first season, Prime Video released the second season in 2020 which saw majority of the original cast return for more action and mayhem.
Well, it's the end of an era! (Until the prequel series starts, anyway...) Season five is the season finale for THE BOYS, and your boys, A.K.A. the Film School Janitors, are here to fill you in on all the details (they can remember)! Did the show stick its (superhero) landing? Listen to find out!
The other major showcase of Summer Game Fest is always the Xbox Games Showcase, and this is significant because it is the first one headed up by new XBOX CEO Asha Sharma. Sean and Marc give their reactions to the Xbox Showcase, the surprises, including the first teaser trailer for Persona 6, which will be Day One on Xbox Game Pass too. The exclusives are back as Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution are both console exclusives. But why not the rest of the games along with it? Some of this is directly alluded to by Asha in her recent interview with Bloomberg, where she speaks on exclusives and the direction of XBOX, among other things.Does the future look bright for the green brand? Or is it just more of the same? Superman built his own island. Shaped like himself. In the middle of the ocean. With a foghorn that plays a recording of his voice saying "Keep off Superman Island." This week Zach and Mike tackle a pair of Silver Age Superman stories, starting with "The Secret of Superman Island" a story in which the Man of Steel harvests rocks from mountains, chisels a giant spade out of boulders, tells a whale to leave him alone mid-ocean, builds a lighthouse that projects his own face, installs a lead-lined vault, and constructs an entire island in the shape of his own body. The reason for all of this is both logical and completely unhinged. Lois Lane gets involved. Nautical crooks think there's treasure. There is not treasure. There is something much more interesting than treasure. Also: the island is a Superman star now. It's floating in space. That's how the story ends. Superman just throws it up there. Also in this episode:- Baking tips from Zach and Mike (this happens)- The Boys Season 5 finale discussed with spoiler warning, you've been warned- Mandalorian and Grogu reviewed — Mike has thoughts on Jabba's son's voice- Big 12 Media Days in July — Zach and Mike may be recording live. Credit: Jasper Savage/Prime. Copyright: © Amazon Content Services LLC. Description: Karl Urban (Billy Butcher) Seven years of blood, corporate satire, and unhinged superhero mayhem have all come down to this. Cat and Paul are back for the ultimate deep-dive into the series finale of The Boys, Season 5, Episode 8: “Blood and Bone.” The show completely threw out the comic books and gave us a beautifully tragic, poetic, and utterly jaw-dropping final hour. We are breaking down every single massive payoff: The Undercard Chaos: We kick things off with the emotional whiplash of Frenchie’s wild last will and testament, followed by Kimiko blasting Sister Sage into a permanent, Orlando-bound “dimwit”. Plus, we celebrate the absolute poetic justice of MM weaponizing a BDSM ball gag against Oh Father and Starlight feeding The Deep to an octopus bent on avenging Ambrosius. The Oval Office Execution: Homelander's “Messiah” tour comes to a pathetic, weeping halt. We dissect the incredible moment Kimiko depowers him and Butcher delivers the ultimate closure—using a bloody crowbar to end the god-king on live television, echoing the very first supe encounter from the pilot. The Final Stand: The real tragedy wasn’t Homelander; it was the final confrontation between Hughie and a deeply broken Butcher over a global virus threat. We break down Hughie’s devastating choice to pull the trigger to save the world, proving that it really does just hurt to be human. The Bittersweet Epilogue: From MM taking in Ryan to Kimiko's healing trip to France, we unpack where the survivors land. Most importantly, we dive into the beautiful full-circle pilot echoes of Hughie and Annie running a quiet A/V store, waiting on a baby girl named Robin, while “Piano Man” brings the curtain down. The Ultimate Question: In the end, did the show argue that Butcher was just as dangerous as Homelander, or did Hughie's final act break the cycle of violence for good? Listen to our final, emotional breakdown with Cat and Paul on all podcast platforms now! #TheBoys #TheBoysFinale #EscapingGilead #Homelander #BillyButcher #Starlight #Hughie #PodcastLife #SeriesFinale MORE IN THIS SERIES Season 5 1+2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 Season 4 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 Season 3 1+2+3 Pt 1 | 1+2+3 Pt 2 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 Season 2 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 Follow the show PRIME VIDEO | FACEBOOK | Twitter Follow the Hosts PAUL | CAT This podcast was recorded in Pod Clubhouse Studios and edited by Paul Daley.

We discuss Euphoria Season 3 and where the latest season succeeds and struggles, why LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is one of the most enjoyable superhero video games in years, revisiting Starfield after its rocky launch, and the surprising Witcher 3 DLC announcement and what it could mean for the future of The Witcher franchise. Tonight on TV Party Tonight, we're reviewing Season 5 of The Boys, the fifth and final chapter of Eric Kripke's satirical superhero saga based on the comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television, the season brings back Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Karen Fukuhara, Chace Crawford, Laz Alonso, and the rest of the core cast, with Daveed Diggs joining the ensemble. As Homelander tightens his grip on America and seeks the original Compound V formula that could make him effectively immortal, Billy Butcher and The Boys unite for one final mission, armed with a virus capable of wiping out every Supe on Earth. Premiering on Prime Video in April 2026 and concluding in May, the season earned generally favorable reviews for its action, performances, social commentary, humor, and emotional payoff, though some critics cited pacing issues and a lack of focus. Granny's Peach Tea – Episode 234: Supes, Spoilers, and Special Guest TimGranny's Peach Tea is back with Episode 234, and this one is going full spoiler mode. Ed and Jason dive into their spoiler discussion of The Boys Season 5 finale, which also serves as the series finale. That means no dancing around the big moments, no pretending they “might talk about it,” and definitely no safe little spoiler-free corner for people who somehow clicked on a finale discussion without watching the finale. The guys break down the end of The Boys, the chaos, the carnage, the characters who made it out, the ones who probably deserved worse, and whether the finale stuck the landing or flew straight through a wall like Homelander having a normal Tuesday. Then Tim joins the show as a special guest to talk The Mandalorian and Grogu, because apparently Granny's Peach Tea decided one major geek-culture discussion wasn't enough. The conversation shifts from corrupt superheroes and bloody finales to Star Wars, Din Djarin, Grogu, and the return of one of the galaxy's favorite tiny green merch machines. It's spoilers, Star Wars, The Boys, Tim dropping in, Ed and Jason doing what they do, and probably enough nerd debate to make the internet argue with itself for another week.#TheBoys #TheBoysFinale #StarWars #TheMandalorianAndGrogu #GrannysPeachTea #PopCulturePros

This week, we are diving into the absolute devastation of The Boys Season 5, Episode 6: “Though the Heavens Fall”. If you thought the boys had a fighting chance, this hour completely flipped the board. We are breaking down: The Legend's Chilling Truth: Paul Reiser returns as a ghost of Vought past to deliver the one thing Homelander never hears: the unvarnished, terrifying truth. We debate why Homelander actually let him live—is it newfound god-like mercy, or rare respect? The Seven’s Skeleton Crew: The Deep and Noir II take pettiness to a literal apocalyptic level with a pipeline massacre. We unpack the shocking, bloody end of their rivalry and what it means now that Homelander's inner circle is down to absolute narcissists. Sage’s Logic Fails: Sister Sage tried to play the ultimate game of chess using Stormfront’s legacy. We break down how she completely miscalculated Soldier Boy's twisted sense of family—and the fallout of Homelander discovering her betrayal. The Death of Hope: The climax that changed everything. Homelander takes the V1, the virus is now a useless paperweight, and Butcher is left with only one word: “Run.” The Question of the Week: Now that the Apotheosis is complete and Homelander is truly an immortal god, is there anything left in this universe that can actually hurt him? #TheBoys #Homelander #SoldierBoy #SisterSage #TheSeven #PodcastLife MORE IN THIS SERIES Season 5 1+2 | 3 | 4 | 5 Season 4 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 Season 3 1+2+3 Pt 1 | 1+2+3 Pt 2 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 Season 2 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 Follow the show PRIME VIDEO | FACEBOOK | Twitter Follow the Hosts PAUL | CAT This podcast was recorded in Pod Clubhouse Studios and edited by Paul Daley.

Description: Daveed Diggs (Oh Father) The board has been completely flipped, and The Boys just delivered one of the most devastating penultimate episodes in TV history. This week, Cat and Paul are diving straight into the absolute madness and heartbreak of Season 5, Episode 7: “The Frenchman, the Female, and the Man Called Mother’s Milk.” If you thought things couldn’t get any darker before the finale, this hour proved us all wrong. We're breaking down: The Blasphemous Coup: Homelander officially trades corporate PR for a literal divinity complex. From Daveed Diggs’ wild, far-right “Messiah” musical number to a shocking, skull-crushing Oval Office execution that leaves Ashley as a completely fractured puppet POTUS, the stakes have officially gone cosmic. The Gen V Disappointment: Marie Moreau and Jordan Li finally return, but a dejected, cynical Starlight isn’t having it. We break down that brutal reality check and Marie throwing Annie’s own words right back in her face. The Billy Joel Defense: Deep-diving into the psychological trap sprung by the new psychic Supe, Synapse. Find out how Butcher uses his top 10 Billy Joel songs to fight off a mental invasion and a haunting confrontation with the ghost of Joe Kessler. The Tragedy at the School: The heart of the team is gone. We unpack the beautifully bizarre interaction between Frenchie and a low-IQ Sister Sage , followed by the unthinkable: the radioactive chamber’s total failure against Homelander and Frenchie’s devastating, unceremonious death. The Question of the Week: With the radioactive chamber failing to even tickle a V1-infused Homelander, and Frenchie officially gone, is there any physical way left to stop a god?
