On this episode of Damn You Hollywood, Robert Winfree, Jason Teasley and Mark Radulich review Mortal Kombat II (2026), the long-awaited sequel to the 2021 reboot based on the legendary video game franchise created by Ed Boon and John Tobias. Directed by Simon McQuoid and written by Jeremy Slater, the film brings back Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Lewis Tan, Joe Taslim and Hiroyuki Sanada, while adding Karl Urban as fan-favorite Johnny Cage alongside Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, Martyn Ford as Shao Kahn and Tati Gabrielle as Jade. This time the actual Mortal Kombat tournament takes center stage as Raiden's Earthrealm warriors battle Outworld for the fate of humanity. Screenwriter Jeremy Slater (Moon Knight, The Exorcist, Mortal Kombat II) returns to The Kingcast to talk about... not Stephen King. Well, not directly, anyway. The topic up for discussion is Joe Hill's 2025 epic horror tome King Sorrow which contains many familial references and those don't just include his famous father. The story centers a group of college friends who uncover the ability to summon a dark force to combat their enemies, but like most dark forces this protection comes at a price.Hill tells this story over multiple decades and litters the narrative with nods to many King titles, from The Dead Zone to The Dark Tower. We discuss the book without spoilers for the first half of the conversation and dig into some of the more spoilery stuff in the back. Don't worry, make it very clear when we're transitioning to spoiler territory.Make sure to catch Mortal Kombat II written by our guest Jeremy Slater in theaters this weekend!

When asked why she got into writing, screenwriter Bisha K. Ali joked it all started with a “teacher who gave [her] too much validation.” She said, “I wrote a short story when I was 8 and the teacher made me read it to the class. They were wondering who this kid was who had been sitting in the corner for the past six years.” This early validation, along with a family and cultural love for storytelling from her British-Pakistani background, is “fundamentally” a part of her. “Then, also the fact that I was an indoor kid raised on television and movies. That was my obsession as a child. I just didn't know there was space for me until I got older.” Despite being a quiet kid, Bisha didn't see herself as introverted, just “indoors.” So moving from solo projects to the Writer's Room wasn't particularly overwhelming for her. “I don't know the tI'm an introvert necessarily, just an uncool kid,” she joked. “I think I feed off the energy of other writers a lot. Being in the Writer's Room is the best. It's more fun when you're not the head because you're just pitching ideas and that's fun and exiting. When you're the head, you have to figure out all of it.” “Even know, if there's an opportunity to dip into a Writer's Room, it's the best. I love that environment. But then I also need five days of nothingness. So I need both.” As a screenwriter, Bisha is known for Sex Education, Four Weddings and a Funeral (2019), Loki, and creating the new Marvel series Ms. Marvel for Disney Plus. “It's always been about storytelling for me, in one form or another.” We also talk about Moon Knight in this interview. “The answer always goes back to Jaws,” said Jeremy Slater, when asked about why he got into the business in the first place. A movie he saw too young, it changed the way he saw movies and he knew he wanted to grow up to play with “giant, rubber sharks.” Slater's rubber sharks came in the form of The Exorcist, The Umbrella Academy, Fantastic Four, and most recently, Marvel's Moon Knight for Disney Plus. In his latest project, a six-episode series starring Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke, “Steven Grant discovers he's been granted the powers of an Egyptian moon god. But he soon finds out that these newfound powers can be both a blessing and a curse to his troubled life.” In this interview, Slater talks about smuggling exciting ideas into IP, writing words meant to be spoken and read, what it means to write Hard PG-13, and how he created six versions of Moon Knight. Based on the Marvel Comics featuring the character of the same name, Moon Knight follows Marc Spector / Steven Grant (Oscar Isaac), two alters of a man with dissociative identity disorder (DID) who gets drawn into a deadly mystery involving Egyptian gods. Head writer Jeremy Slater discusses the series' approach to featuring a protagonist with DID and the creative challenges it posed: "It was the biggest creative opportunity and also one of the hardest things about the show. It's actually surprising how few characters we have in the show; it's really kind of only three. It's just that Oscar Isaac is doing so much as Mark and as Steven and commanding the screen as both sides of that system... on screen, it's just the actor, and they have to convey who's in charge and what's going on." Slater goes on to share what drew him to adapting this particular Marvel story and bringing a brand new character to the screen: "One of the reasons I gravitated towards Moon Knight was because he didn't have that former baggage... No one knows who the hell Moon Knight is; no one knows what his powers are; no one knows who his villains are. So for me, I view that as really creatively liberating, because we can come in here and put our own stamp on this." It's important to work with some fresh talent...On this episode we go behind the scenes of one of the hotter streaming shows on the planet in 'Marvel's Moon Knight'.It's the story of Steven Grant (Oscar Isaac) who is hearing voices and having vivid dreams that he soon discovers is related to sharing a body with a mercenary named Marc Spector in this series created by Jeremy Slater and based on the Marvel character. With some fresh talent behind the camera it's no surprise that Moon Knight is one of the hottest streaming properties going and we had the unique pleasure of sitting down with an iconic and powerful force behind the look at the style of some of the best pieces of genre entertainment in recent years....and as an added bonus, he's Canadian.Donald Mowat is an industry veteran who has won multiple awards in the field of hair and makeup and as the head of the team behind the style of 'Moon Knight' we asked him about the work that goes in to something like this that is already based on another IP, where the room for creativity comes in, working in TV again after years in film and so very much more...

Tune in as comedian Guy Bradford returns to the show for a conversation about Moon Knight, the six-episode Marvel Cinematic Universe series that ran on Disney+ from March 30th to May 4th. As part of Phase 4 of the MCU, it adopts quite the dark, almost psychological thriller-esque mood in comparison to the rest of the franchise. Considering its mild-mannered museum gift shop employee lead Steven Grant (Oscar Isaac) becomes increasingly uncertain as to the boundary between his reality and his imagination, then gets caught up in his dissociative identity disorder (DID) and the vengeful zeal of the Egyptian moon god Khonshu, the tonal shift makes complete sense. On top of breaking down the show, the hosts also chat about The Umbrella Academy, the horror trope of motion-sensing lights, and the MCU's usage of comedy. Helmed by creator-head writer Jeremy Slater and director Mohamed Diab, Moon Knight stars Oscar Isaac, May Calamawy, Karim El Hakim, F. Murray Abraham, Ethan Hawke, David Ganly, Khalid Abdalla, Gaspard Ulliel, Antonia Salib, Fernanda Andrade, Rey Lucas, and Saba Mubarak. Watts just directed Spider-Man: No Way Home, the Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios film that grossed $1.89 billion to become the sixth highest-grossing film of all time.   Nothing sinister here; Watts just needs a break from the superhero realm after completing the Spidey trilogy with Tom Holland and Zendaya. He had expected to make Fantastic Four his next film, the third feature iteration of that franchise and first since Disney acquired Fox, which controlled the franchise. Watts has spent the better part of the last decade directing and promoting the Spider-Man films, after being hired off Cop Car, a small-budget indie thriller that premiered at 2015 Sundance. He needs a breather.   Both Watts and Marvel confirmed his exit, and said that it is amicable.   ‘The Marvels' and ‘Ant-Man 3' Swap Release Dates in 2023 https://variety.com/2022/film/news/the-marvels-ant-man-the-wasp-quantumania-release-date-swap-1235254707/ Marvel Studios productions “The Marvels” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” are swapping release dates, Disney announced Friday.   “The Marvels,” the sequel to 2019's “Captain Marvel,” was originally due to open in theaters on Feb. 17, 2023, and “Quantumania,” the third movie in the “Ant-Man” series, was set to open on July 28, 2023.   Instead, “Quantumania” will now bow first in February, and “The Marvels” will debut in July.   Insiders say this was a matter of “Quantumania” simply being further along in its creative process than “The Marvels,” as the former has wrapped principal photography while “The Marvels” still has a bit more to go. Marvel Studios' other big theatrical release in 2023, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” is still set to debut on May 5, 2023.   DISNEY+   ‘Moon Knight' Director Mohamed Diab on the Season Finale, Oscar Isaac's Return and the MCU's First Egyptian Superhero https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/moon-knight-season-finale-jake-lockley-scarlet-scarab-mohamed-diab-1235258810/ There are only a couple very glancing references to the MCU on “Moon Knight,” but there are no crossovers at all — up to the post-credits scene, where crossovers almost always happen. How do you feel about what that means about the show's place in the MCU?   We had the freedom to place it whenever. I want to tell you the very first scene, there was a crossover, and the very end scene, there was a crossover. But as the story developed and we kept changing the scripts, we felt like, “We don't need that.” All of us. It was a collective decision. And then I kept thinking: It's a rule. There has to be a scene at the end that connects us to the MCU. But I think they decided, “You know what, the surprise is that there isn't, and what's going to make this show unique is it doesn't need anything else.” The best compliment we get on the show is when people tell us, “This doesn't feel like a Marvel show. It feels like a standalone show that feels more dramatic, more dark, grounded.” I feel like we succeeded in bringing Marvel more to our corner. So, so proud and happy.   Disney+ X-Men Producer on the Pressure of Bringing Back the Mutants (Exclusive) https://thedirect.com/article/x-men-disney-mutants-exclusive In an exclusive interview, The Direct's Russ Milheim got to sit down with Moon Knight writer Beau DeMayo, also the head writer and executive producer of the upcoming X-Men '97 animated Marvel Studios series on Disney+, to discuss the differences of working on both projects and the general pressure of reviving the Mutants with Marvel Studios.   The writer noted that the process is "no different" from "a studio and process standpoint," but that the "X-Men, in particular, is something that is very close to Marvel Studios' hearts:"   “From a studio and process standpoint, no different. Kevin [Feige], Brad Winderbaum, Dana [Vasquez-Eberhardt] who's working with us on this, who are our producers, they have the same level of involvement. I know in some studios, animation is treated like the red-headed stepchild and, honestly, What If…? and Marvel's other animated series are treated just as seriously as their live-action properties. And X-Men, in particular, is something that is very close to Marvel Studios' hearts, now that it's back home at the studio. So that has been different.   DeMayo noted that he feels a "weight and a responsibility" given that this is Marvel Studios' first go at an X-Men-focused project:   "It's just like, X-Men means something to a lot of people. There's a weight and a responsibility there, I think, now that it's back at Marvel Studios, that is very different, and that I'm always aware of. The funny difference is more sleepless night, because on Moon Knight, if something didn't go right, [I was like], ‘well, Jeremy [Slater] is is writing the show, so at the end of the day he'll have to [figure it out].' There have been several moments where I'm like, ‘Someone needs to figure this out—oh, it's me now.' [laughs] So, there's been a lot of growth, I'd say, that I've had to do on X-Men ‘97. Just as a storyteller, and as a producer, and as a person, that has made it a very different experience than writing on Moon Knight."   FEEDBACK [55:29]   DISCORD RandyWalker — Yesterday at 11:39 PM Why does Taweret's avatar have wings and fly? Feige also spoke about some exciting projects in the works, including a mysterious 3D movie. He then revealed that he'd just returned from an in-person retreat with the other heads of Marvel Studios, where the team mapped out what's coming to the big screen in the next decade. "In the next 10 years, with existing characters and new characters and new storytelling tools with the multiverse, anything can happen," Feige said.   Feige also revealed that the retreat featured a giant board "that takes us through the next decade [of films] and they are unique and special and they are meant for your theaters." The overall tone of the presentation was one in celebration of the rebound of movie theaters after the blow the industry took during the first year and a half of the COVID-19 pandemic. He cited the theatrical success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which brought in $1.89 billion globally and netted a reported $610 million in profits. While Marvel Studios is also building out its television offerings on Disney+, Feige promised its biggest stories would still be hitting theaters, meaning Black Widow's day-and-date streaming release will remain a fluke.   Of course, Feige didn't reveal just what Marvel Studios has in store over the next decade, but fans eager to learn more about Phase 4 and beyond have plenty to go on. Beyond the confirmed big and small screen titles, like Thor: Love and Thunder, She-Hulk, The Marvels, Blade, and Fantastic Four, the MCU will reportedly see a Nova/Richard Rider film in the future, with Moon Knight writer Sabir Pirzada attached to tackle the script. This may or may not be separate from a reported cosmic Marvel film that recently popped up on a production listing.   More concrete but without any firm release date or details is the arrival of the X-Men in the MCU. Feige has made no secret that mutants are coming now that Disney owns the film rights to the Marvel characters once controlled by Fox, but there's been no hint as to when they might pop up on the big screen. That said, it seems certain that Patrick Stewart's Professor X is in Multiverse of Madness, so the answer to that and many more questions about the MCU's future may be right around the corner.    MCU – MARVEL STUDIOS   ‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse' Fresh Footage Shown At CinemaCon, Part 2's Title Revealed https://deadline.com/2022/04/spider-man-across-the-spider-verse-fresh-footage-shown-at-cinemacon-part-2s-title-revealed-1235009498/ Sony dropped the first 15 minutes from its upcoming Marvel animated sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse – Part I today.   In addition the Culver City, CA studio revealed the title of the pic's sequel (technically the third installment in the animated Marvel series): Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.   Exclusive: Blade Production Company and Working Title Revealed https://www.thecosmiccircus.com/exclusive-blade-production-company-and-working-title-revealed/ The Cosmic Circus can now exclusively report that Blade's production company is  Standoffish Productions LLC. We can also confirm that one of the working titles the project is using is “Perfect Imprints.” According to our information, the movie is currently scheduled to begin to film this July in the Atlanta area.    Standoffish Productions is part of a batch of companies that Marvel registered in 2020 and 2021. Arlyn Murphy of Murphy's Multiverse reported on this and other companies she had discovered back in November 2020, and later confirmed to be Marvel properties.  Until now, all we could do was speculate what project any of these LLCs was for.  https://www.murphysmultiverse.com/young-avengers-production-marvel-studios/   https://www.newsweek.com/doctor-strange-star-zara-phythian-sex-abuse-allegations-detailed-court-1701699   DISNEY+    MCU Star Confirms Hawkeye's Echo Spinoff Is Now Filming https://www.cbr.com/echo-alaqua-cox-announces-filming/ Hawkeye star Alaqua Cox confirmed that principal photography has commenced on the spinoff series Echo.   Cox, who plays the show's protagonist Maya Lopez, posted a picture on Instagram of flowers she received from Reservation Dogs actor Devery Jacobs, who wished her the best for the first day of filming on 21 April. Aside from providing a concrete start date for shooting on Echo, the post (in particular, a card attached to the bouquet) has also fueled speculation that Jacobs is part of the Disney+ series' cast. Jacobs' involvement with Echo is purely speculation at this stage.   While this recent update confirms that the production is starting to gain momentum, Marvel Studios and Disney+ have remained largely tight-lipped about Echo. Little is known about the plot of the series, although Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously divulged that Echo will pick up immediately after Hawkeye. "[T]he Echo series will be -- we see Maya Lopez go from the end of this series into that series will be the next direct link," Feige explained.   Filming permit applications filed by Echo's location manager Ryan Schaetzle also confirmed that the show won't share Hawkeye's New York City setting. These applications were made to two small towns in Georgia, Grantville and Social Circle, and were ultimately successful. Echo will film in Social Circle in April and Grantville in May, with the scenes involved said to be devoid of "explosions, gunfire, or big stunts."   Arguably the biggest news surrounding Echo is a recent leak that allegedly spoils the inclusion of two major MCU characters in the series. The resume for the show's costume designer Stacy Caballero appears to have unwittingly revealed that both Daredevil and Kingpin will return in Echo, even though actors Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio are not officially attached to the production.   Cox last appeared as Daredevil's alter-ego Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, while D'Onofrio reprised the role of Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in several episodes of Hawkeye. The pair originated these roles in the Daredevil series that originally aired on Netflix and now streams on Disney+ alongside the other entries in the so-called "Defenders Saga." One of the writers on Echo, Dara Resnik, penned two episodes of Daredevil Season 3, further stoking speculation that the Man Without Fear and his arch-enemy will appear in the upcoming series.   Multiverse Maestro Michael Waldron On ‘Loki' & ‘Doctor Strange 2' [Interview] https://theplaylist.net/multiverse-maestro-michael-waldron-on-loki-doctor-strange-2-interview-20220421/ Is the goal another six-episode sort of arc, or could it potentially be longer for season two?   Time will tell.   Disney+ Releases New Daredevil Featurette With Charlie Cox https://www.cbr.com/disney-plus-charlie-cox-daredevil-featurette-marvel/ Disney+ is making it known that Charlie Cox's Daredevil is home with the rest of Marvel's star-studded lineup.   A new featurette was released online to re-introduce the former Netflix series, which now streams along with the rest of the Defenders shows on Disney+. In the featurette, which is mostly action clips from the series, actor Charlie Cox talks about who Matt Murdock is as a character and what the show means to him.   FEEDBACK [52:44]   TWITTER Jesse - The Fan Man @LilTooClinical @MarvelUnlimited for the full library of #MoonKnight comics to keep me occupied until next week's episode. The plot synopsis officially calls Foster "Mighty Thor." Additionally, the press release for a Marvel Legends figure of Foster's God of Thunder refers to her as "mighty Thor." Both also confirm she indeed wields Mjolnir. You can see images of the Marvel Legends Mighty Thor figure, which ties into the upcoming movie, below. The six-inch figure features four accessories and a Build-a-Figure part.   Thor 4 Trailer Features One of the Most Comic Book-Accurate Scenes the MCU's Ever Shot https://www.cbr.com/thor-4-trailer-comics-accurate-mcu-scene-marvel/ Marvel Studios released the first teaser trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder, which featured one of the most comics-accurate shots to date in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.   Shown briefly in the teaser trailer, the shot depicts Chris Hemsworth's Thor and Taika Waititi's Korg standing atop a rock overlooking the corpse of a god who, in the comics, was identified as Falligar the Behemoth and died at the hands of Gorr the God Butcher. While Thor is alone in the comics, the shot from the trailer is an almost exact recreation of a panel that appeared in Thor: God of Thunder Vol. 1 #3 as the third part of the God Butcher arc. Released in December 2012, the issue was written by Jason Aaron, drawn by Esad Ribić and colored by Ive Svorcina.   Marvel Sleuths Believe a Character Was Digitally Scrubbed From the Thor 4 Trailer https://www.cbr.com/thor-love-and-thunder-fans-character-scrubbed-trailer/ Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe suspect that a key character has been edited out of the Thor: Love and Thunder teaser trailer.   The shot in question appears at the 37-second mark of the video, shortly after the section where the Guardians of the Galaxy are seen leaving Thor and Korg behind on a debris-ridden platform. Many fans have pointed to the framing of the scene, which appears to be too wide to show just two characters. Some are suggesting that the extra length of the frame and the empty space next to Thor is evidence that Marvel Studios has digitally removed a character from the trailer.   Nebula's Backstory Would Make Cool Disney+ Show, Says Karen Gillan https://screenrant.com/nebula-marvel-disney-plus-show-backstory-karen-gillan/ Karen Gillan thinks Nebula's backstory would make for a cool Disney+ show after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Marvel Studios received a new path to expanding the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Phase 4 with the launch of Disney's streaming service in 2019. Disney+ has so far been used to elevate supporting characters like Scarlet Witch or Falcon and introduce major new heroes, such as Moon Knight. There are many upcoming MCU Disney+ shows that meet these criteria and explore different corners of the massive franchise.    ‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse' Heads To Summer 2023; Sony Dates ‘Madame Web', ‘Equalizer 3' Among Other Release Changes https://deadline.com/2022/04/spider-man-across-the-spider-verse-summer-2023-theatrical-release-sony-release-date-changes-1235007010/ Sony's animated sequel to the Oscar winning movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is moving from Oct. 7 this year to June 2, 2023. The news is breaking just before the studio's presentation at CinemaCon next week.   Meanwhile, the pic's sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Part II, is dated for March 29, 2024.   The movies will screen in premium large formats and IMAX   DISNEY+   Moon Knight Writer Doesn't Know Where the Marvel Show Fits in the MCU Timeline https://www.cbr.com/moon-knight-writer-not-sure-mcu-timeline-marvel/ With the first several episodes of Moon Knight now released on Disney+, fans are clamoring to know how exactly the Fist of Khonshu fits into the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe -- a question the show's creator and head writer Jeremy Slater, unfortunately, can't answer.   After being asked by a fan on Twitter when Moon Knight takes place in the MCU timeline, Slater admitted the lack of a firm premiere date during production forced the creative team to keep the show's place in the timeline unclear. "A lot of people have asked [about when Moon Knight takes place in the MCU], but I have no idea, sorry," Slater wrote. "We didn't know when our show would debut in relation to their other shows and films, so the timeline was intentionally left vague."   Tom Hiddleston and ‘Loki' Will Avoid Emmys Mischief by Submitting in These Categories (EXCLUSIVE) https://variety.com/2022/awards/news/tom-hiddleston-loki-emmys-submissions-1235231497/ Hawkeye and Moon Knight are competing as “Limited Series” According to the Television Academy rules and regulations, the criteria to compete in limited series: “The program must tell a complete, non-recurring story, and not have an ongoing storyline or main characters in subsequent seasons.”   Aside from “Hawkeye” and “Moon Knight” competing in limited series, Marvel also has the anthology series “What If…?” that was created by A.C. Bradley. However, it will compete for outstanding animated program.   Disney+ Working To Restore Access After Episodes Of Original Series Including ‘Agent Carter' Went Missing https://deadline.com/2022/04/disney-plus-restore-access-episodes-original-series-missing-1235005673/ UPDATED: Disney+ subscribers binging series from the streamer's library on Monday discovered that a number of episodes were not available. Affected titles are said to include Duck Tales, Agent Carter, X-Men, Lizzie McGuire, Owl House and Rocket & Groot. Fans took to reddit and other online platforms to share their frustration and also reached out to Disney.   Disney+'s response, as relayed by customers online and verified by sources to Deadline, is that the purge of episodes was accidental, due to a technical issue. The company has been working to resolve the glitch and access to the missing episodes is expected to be restored within the hour, I hear.   UPDATE 11 AM: I now hear that the fix is taking longer and the MIA episodes may not be fully restored before end of day today. We will update the story when all impacted episodes are back on the service.   “We are actively working to resolve the issue impacting access to a subset of series episodes for some Disney+ subscribers,” the company said in a statement to Deadline. “We are sorry for the experience and appreciate everyone's patience.” Netflix rocked by subscriber loss, may offer cheaper ad-supported plans https://www.reuters.com/technology/netflix-subscribers-fall-first-time-decade-forecasts-more-losses-2022-04-19/ INHUMANS   Inhumans Star Iwan Rheon Wants to Return to Marvel https://comicbook.com/marvel/news/inhumans-tv-series-return-iwan-rheon-maximus-marvel-cinematic-universe/ At one point in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there was limitless potential for the Inhumans, though what was originally conceived to be a movie was reimagined as Marvel's Inhumans TV series, which was met with disappointment from both audiences and critics alike. Even with the underwhelming response to the project, Maximus actor Iwan Rheon would love to continue his journey with the character, though he'd also be happy to take on another role if it meant a return to the MCU in any capacity. Rheon can currently be seen in Barbarians, which is in theaters and On Demand now.   "I'll take anything really. I'd love to have another crack at -- I'd love to do Maximus again," Rheon shared with ComicBook.com when discussing how he'd like to return to the MCU. "I think he's a really interesting character. And also I feel a bit sorry for him, because he is just stuck on the Moon still, but yeah, I'd love to do any of that stuff. Anything. I'm not fussy, give me anything."   OTHER   Marvel's Squirrel Girl Scores Her Own Scripted Podcast Series on SiriusXM https://www.cbr.com/marvel-squirrel-girl-podcast-series-siriusxm/   FEEDBACK [57:12]   TWITTER Dr. Gnome to you @MrParacletes Replying to @LegendsofSHIELD and @playcomicscast Their inability to detect Ammit's power in Harrow kinda feels like when the Jedi Council couldn't detect Palpatine's power on the ride from Coruscant to Naboo.  https://twitter.com/MrParacletes/status/1514982528121245701   Legends S.H.I.E.L.D. @LegendsofSHIELD Well well well, what have we here?

Cathey Tributes Following Backlash https://www.cbr.com/disney-plus-punisher-luke-cage-stan-lee-tribute-restored-marvel/ Disney+ has restored tributes to the late Stan Lee and Reg E. Cathey in The Punisher and Luke Cage, respectively.   Earlier in April 2022, it was discovered that the streaming service had removed the two tributes from their respective appearances in the second season finales of The Punisher and Luke Cage. When fans caught wind of the decision, they were displeased, to say the least. Following the backlash, the two memorial tributes once again adjoin these two series in "The Defenders Saga."   Whether these series will see any sort of revival remains to be seen. For a moment, it seemed that Daredevil was officially canon to the Marvel Cinematic Universe being that Matthew Murdock's live-action biography on Marvel's website was updated to include both the events of the series and the character's appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, Marvel has since removed the mention of No Way Home from Murdock's television timeline.   While Daredevil star Charlie Cox is rumored and reported to reprise his role in numerous upcoming MCU projects, there is no word on whether actors Mike Colter and/or Jon Bernthal will return as Luke Cage and Frank Castle, respectively. Bernthal did react to The Punisher landing on Disney+, but there has been no word from the actor on whether he has been asked to return any time soon. As for Colter, the actor revealed back in late 2020 that he had not been approached about returning, but that he'd "love to."   ‘Moon Knight' Directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead on Joining the MCU, Helming Episodes 2 & 4, and ‘Loki' Season 2 https://collider.com/moon-knight-directors-justin-benson-aaron-moorhead-interview-loki-season-2-disney-plus/   Marvel's ‘Ironheart' Finds Its Directors While Ryan Coogler Boards as Executive Producer https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/marvel-ironheart-show-directors-ryan-coogler-1235128280/ Ryan Coogler and his production banner, Proximity Media, have joined the creative team of Ironheart, Marvel's Disney+ series featuring the titular Iron Man-adjacent character.   At the same time, the show has firmed up its filmmaking talent, hiring Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes as directors.   Dominique Thorne is toplining Ironheart, playing Riri Williams, a brilliant teenage inventor who, in the comics, builds her own version of the Iron Man suit in an MIT dorm.   Disney+ Removes The Defenders' Post-Credits Punisher Teaser https://www.cbr.com/disney-plus-removes-defenders-punisher-teaser-marvel/ The Defenders on Disney+ seems to be missing its post-credits teaser for The Punisher.   When the show originally aired on Netflix, The Defenders featured a teaser trailer for The Punisher as its post-credits scene. The trailer saw Frank Castle/Punisher (Jon Bernthal) using a sledgehammer to smash his logo into concrete while revealing footage from the show. As Twitter user Ian Cardona notes, that teaser for The Punisher no longer appears at the end of The Defenders. CBR has verified that this change was made in both the Canadian and American markets.   She-Hulk Reportedly Bumped Back on Marvel's Disney+ Schedule https://www.cbr.com/she-hulk-reportedly-bumped-back-marvel-schedule-mcu/ A leaker on Reddit with a proven track record in regards to WandaVision suggested She-Hulk could arrive in very late 2022 or even early 2023 as various VFX houses hustle to complete post-production. This information lines up with a report from March about She-Hulk facing some behind-the-scenes difficulties. Not only does the report detail all three seasons of his Netflix adventures, but it also mentions that "Sometime later, Matt was hired as an attorney to defend Peter Parker."   Here's the excerpt of the important part:   Soon after, Matt attended the funeral for Father Lantom, where he made peace with Sister Maggie. Now in a better state of mind than he had been in quite a while, Matt fully reconciled with Karen and Foggy and the three of them discussed the idea of reforming their law firm with Karen now as the firm's lead investigator and third partner.   Sometime later, Matt was hired as an attorney to defend Peter Parker, as Peter had been publicly outed as Spider-Man and accused of Mysterio's murder. Though Peter was legally cleared of any wrongdoing, Matt warned him he'd still have to face the court of public opinion and advised Harold “Happy” Hogan to hire a good lawyer. As if on cue, a protestor threw a brick through the window of the Parkers' apartment in support of Mysterio. Fortunately, due to his heightened senses, Matt was able to catch the brick before it hurt anyone inside. When Peter asked him how he was able to do that, Matt claimed it was because he was a really good lawyer and left it at that.   Marvel's confirmation that Murdock became Peter Parker's lawyer "Sometime later" than the dramatic ending of Daredevil Season 3 appears to indicate Charlie Cox will continue playing the same version of his character, not a Multiversal Variant as many had speculated.   DISNEY+   Disney+ Removes Stan Lee Tribute From Marvel Netflix Show https://thedirect.com/article/marvel-stan-lee-tribute-disney-netflix-show A tribute to Stan Lee has been removed from The Punisher's second season finale, which was released in January 2019. The "In Loving Memory of Stan Lee" tribute is now replaced with a prolonged black screen before the credits.   The reasoning behind the removal is unknown, but a prevailing theory is that the scene preceding the tribute has Frank Castle gunning down a group of people. Of course, this isn't the confirmed cause of the change—after all, that's how it was when the tribute first aired with the show back in 2019.   Oddly enough, the Stan Lee tribute found at the end of Jessica Jones season 3 is still present on Disney+.   ‘Star Wars' vs. Marvel: Which Disney+ Shows Are Most-Viewed https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/star-wars-vs-marvel-which-disney-shows-are-most-viewed-1235122942/   Marvel Leak Spoils Daredevil and Kingpin's Next MCU Appearance https://www.cbr.com/marvel-daredevil-kingpin-mcu-appearance-spoiled-echo/ A new leak seems to spoil the next Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance for Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk/Kingpin and Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock/Daredevil.   The resume for costume designer Stacy Caballero lists not only Alaqua Cox but also D'Onofrio and Cox under the listing for Echo, the Hawkeye spinoff that's headed to Disney+.   Ms. Marvel's Disney+ Rating Is an MCU First https://www.cbr.com/ms-marvel-disney-plus-rating-mcu-first/ Ms. Marvel will be the first project in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to receive a TV-PG rating.   Based on information for Ms. Marvel provided by Disney+, the series will be rated TV-PG, the first Marvel Studios project -- including movies and series -- to receive a rating other than PG-13 or TV-14.
