Last week we tackled the East, this week we're digging into the West. We couldn't quite agree on a cohesive ranking, so we each kind of built our own lists. James' outrageous Lakers bias is on full display today, and Patrick does his best to hear him out. We all agree that OKC will likely come out on top this year, but the cluster of teams vying for the 2-5 seeds is where things get a little tricky. We talk through pretty much every team in the conference but look, there are a lot of teams and we had to speed thru a few at the end. Also we had some technical difficulties during the part where we talked about the Blazers but they're tanking anyways so WHO CARES. Enjoy :)

On this week's ep, we're sorting the Eastern conference teams into tiers. Tier 1 pretty clearly belongs to one team and one team only. And then things start to get a little tricky. Does the KAT trade cement the Knicks as the clear 2 seed? Does the PG trade do the same thing for Philly? Are Dame and Giannis finally going to see some real success? We're 2 weeks out from the Olympics so today we're breaking down all things Olympic Basketball! The way that this version of group play works is a bit confusing and involves point differentials so we're breaking down how it all works. We're pretty high on the USA squad, but we're also seeing some exciting stuff from Australia, Canada, and France. Plus, Germany has a lot to prove after winning the FIBA cup last year. We also touch base on Summer League and get into a little Hot Streak/Shooting Slump!

DeRozan got traded to the Kings so we decided to do a little California NBA special. First, we evaluate the trade and offer up a few minutes of NBA therapy for Bulls fans. Is it a good fit? A lot has happened since Monday so we brought our good buddy Neal back to break it down. The NBA Draft is in the books and there were definitely some winners and losers. IT'S ALMOST DRAFTIN' TIME James and Patrick are joined by 2HYPE producer and college basketball expert Neal Schnoor to draft their top 13 prospects in this year's NBA lottery. It's a weak year for sure, but there are still plenty of talented players to choose from, many of which will be able to help NBA teams right away. The Finals are over just like that! We can't help but feel like these Finals were a bit lackluster, and honestly that this year's playoffs were similarly underwhelming. But we can't deny that this Celtics team is special, deserves the chip, and they'll likely be in the same position next year.  What are the takeaways from this series? The Celtics are officially up 3-0 in the Finals and history tells us that this victory is more than likely the nail in the coffin. While Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown both put up similarly heroic numbers, we can't help but marvel at how tactically JB made it happen. The Mavs did have a late-game run fueled by great team synergy but they just couldn't take it to the finish line. Did Jason Kidd's timeout sabotage their momentum? Are the NBA Finals already over? Today on the pod we're breaking down last night's Game 2 Celtics W over the Dallas Mavericks and while the game wasn't all that exciting, there's plenty to talk about. Jrue Holiday, Jaylen Brown, and Derrick White made up for a continually lackluster Jayson Tatum. Luka came out on a heater but the rest of the Mavs squad just couldn't get any momentum going. Holy Porzingis! Game 1 of the 2024 NBA Finals is in the books and it was an absolutely dominant display by the Boston Celtics. Kristaps Porzingis is back in action and looking like a STUD. The Celtics played physical, took tons of shots at the rim, and punished the Mavs every time Luka took a seat on the bench. What do they need to do to adjust? And what does this Finals series mean for Jayson Tatum's legacy? We break it down. The Mavs took down the Timberwolves in Game 5 and we're faced with a reality which we honestly did not predict: the Boston Celtics will face Dallas in the NBA Finals! We break down what we think each team will need to do to win. Boston has to win the rebounding war to stay on top, and they're going to have to generate a lot of 3's for Porzingis as well. Big man match-ups will also be essential since the Mavs front court has become a massive presence on the court. We also talk about what this match-up means for the future of basketball. Is this the Celtics W that cements the legacy of this Boston era? Or is this the beginning of Luka's dominance in the league? The Wolves won Game 4 but man was it a close one. The boys are not quite sure how to feel about this series until they see what happens tonight. We're one game away from the finals! The Celtics swept the Pacers and it's looking like the Mavs could do the same to the T-Wolves. We have to give props to the Pacers for keeping these games incredibly close even without Haliburton. Shoutout Jaylen Brown for showing up, snagging ECF MVP, and justifying the insane contract. And in the WCF, we're all a little stunned by just how dominant Luka, Kyrie, and the entire Mavs roster looks. The Wolves have had some moments of greatness, but some unfortunate turnouts from Gobert and KAT have nerfed the Ant ascension many of us were hoping for. What more could you ask for from a pair of Conference Finals games? The Celtics/Pacers Game 1 was on offensive frenzy, going into OT after a wild end-of-regulation sequence. Tatum sealed the game with a strong and-1 and a clutch 3 and the rest was history. In the West, the Wolves and Mavs were pretty much neck-and-neck the entire way. 3's were falling for the Wolves, but they just could not stop Kyrie in transition.
