The disrespect is real. Daryl Morey says the Lakers 2020 Bubble championship deserves an asterisk—and claims “everyone around the league” agrees. In this episode of Lakers Land Podcast, we break down why Morey's comments are out of pocket. Plus, we talk about the new scapegoat forming in Lakerland, the Year 2 expectations for Bronny James and Dalton Knecht, and who should actually be starting for the Lakers this season.
We start the show off with some super cross talk with Ireland, & Momo. Sedano is back from doing summer league in Vegas. Kap is back from his winning in Del Mar. Sedano was very surprised with Bronny James performance in the NBA Summer league. However, Dalton Knecht was a disappointment. Marcus Smart signed with the Lakers over the weekend. Was this a good move for the Lakers? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
The Lakers wrap up their summer season in Vegas with no Bronny, no Dalton, and a 106-84 drubbing at the hands of the Nuggets. Tune in as Joe and Gerald share thoughts on the Lakers' summer, who (if anyone) showed enough to make the team, and if Bronny James took a sufficient enough leap to get a look for JJ's rotation next season. Plus, what the Heck is wrong with Dalton Knecht? And what should the Lakers be doing about it? Joe also has his picks for an all-time top 15 and the 10 worst Lakers ever. The Lakers end their summer with seemingly no direction after a final loss to Denver in Vegas. What happened? In this episode of the Horns Over Hoops Podcast, we break down the Chicago Bulls' embarrassing 40-point blowout loss to the Toronto Raptors in their Summer League opener. Bulls fans everywhere were eager to see newly drafted Noah Asenge, fan-favorite Yuki Kawamura, and Matas Buzelis take the court — but what unfolded was nothing short of a disaster. We analyze every angle of the Summer League performance, including standout plays, major letdowns, and why the turnovers were absolutely killing the Bulls' rhythm and chemistry. We also dive deep into the Josh Giddey contract situation that has Chicago Bulls fans buzzing. Why haven't the Bulls signed Giddey yet? Is the front office being cautious with their cap space, or just flat-out cheap? We discuss contract figures, cap apron concerns, and what locking in Giddey could mean for the future of the Bulls roster. This segment is a must-listen for fans keeping track of the Bulls' offseason moves and long-term strategy. Plus, we react to the latest Bulls trade rumors, including potential moves involving Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, and even a dream scenario involving Jonathan Kuminga. Would you trade Ayo for Dalton Knecht? Is Patrick Williams still part of the Bulls' plans? We cover all the speculation, front office chatter, and what's realistic heading into the 2025-26 NBA season. If you're a die-hard Chicago Bulls fan or an NBA junkie looking for real talk and hilarious commentary, this episode has it all. Anthony breaks down everything from the Lakers' opener in Vegas, as Bronny James and Dalton Knecht took on Cooper Flagg in his debut. For the most part, the game lived up to most of the hype. It was actually a pretty fun game. The Mavericks organization sure seemed to enjoy it. Maybe the Lakers org did too. We wouldn't know because no one who didn't have to be there were. The Lakers subreddit is a dumb place. The gentlemen discuss the series. Jordan defends JJ Redick's decision to play his only good players for 24 straight. Brandon knows so much about basketball. Durf also knows so much about basketball. Dalton Knecht, nice playing time, you loser. Jaxon Hayes, I hope you stub your foot four million times in a row and that your foot becomes a nub. Luka: why are you the way that you are? Stop it. LeBron: nice inbound, dork. Did you see that video of a Lakers fans yelling into a phone and accidentally cutting his face with his fingernail and then he just lets it bleed so he looks insane? What's goin on over there.

Rob opens this week’s show from Austin, Texas – as he calls the Texas-Alabama game for Compass Media this week! And we also dive head first into Luka’s debut as an LA Laker, as Rob is still holding out judgement until they face some more serious competition. Rob says it felt like an All-Star game moment at times but Harper feels like it can work with time. We also dive into the wild fans that are throwing death threats at Nico Harrison, the conspiracy theories surrounding the Luka trade out of Dallas, and the unfortunate Anthony Davis injury that went down in his debut game for the Mavericks. Plus the Dalton Knecht trade that fell through lands squarely on Robert Horry’s radar, because it happened to HIM when he almost got traded to Detroit. Rob talks about how his failed trade really worked for his career and hopes that Dalton’s failed trade has the same positive impact. That of course launches into the Lakers’ need for a big man, and sure enough both Dwight Howard and DeMarcus Cousins both pop up. Jimm Butler’s move to Golden State takes over the conversation, as both Rob and B-Dog really like the move, and even though Golden State is trailing in the standings Rob still feels like a young team like OKC in the Playoffs could pop up and bite them. Plus we are all surprised that Phoenix spent so much time last week trying to move Kevin Durant which may end up being the end of his time with the Suns. We also get Harper’s break down of the Trae Young situation in Atlanta and how he’ll likely be moved within the next couple of seasons, and everyone has flowers for the Philadelphia Eagles, from the front four to Jalen Hurts. We also dish out a simple but inspiring Big Shot of the Week, and with Rob travelling so much we roll out a round of “Where in the World is Robert Horry?”

Kendrick Lamar's Halftime Show ELECTRIFIES Gil's Arena as Gilbert Arenas & The Gil's Arena react to Kendrick performing a victory lap on his beef with Drake in the middle of the Super Bowl and break down their thoughts on how K-Dot planted his flag on perhaps the greatest rap beef of all time. They then move to hoops where they react to Anthony Davis giving the Dallas Mavericks the full AD experience, as the former Los Angeles Lakers big man delivered an impressive first half in his debut but quickly ruined it as he exited the game due to injury that may have him sidelined for several weeks. Next, Gil's Arena reacts to some of the biggest news of the weekend as the world of the Los Angeles Lakers was flipped upside down once again when the team reversed their trade of Dalton Knecht for Mark Williams and saw career high performances out of LeBron James, Austin Reaves and Bronny James as they await the Lakers debut of Luka Doncic. Finally, they react to the fallout of the other major NBA Trade Deadline deal where Jimmy Butler shined in his Golden State Warriors debut alongside Steph Curry and proved he may be finding his basketball joy in Golden State. On this week's episode of 'The Young Man and the Three' we welcome Austin Reaves of the Los Angeles Lakers and Duncan Robinson of the Miami Heat. Austin and Duncan had an amazing convo. They start of the episode discussing what JJ Redick is like as coach of the Lakers and Austin's unique relationship with him, and the important of forming relationships with your teammates and coaches outside of basketball. Austin then shares what it's like being a huge part of an opponents' scouting reporting now compared to earlier in the year and his approach to the game. He also opens up about his relationship with LeBron James and how LeBron's trust in him as a player has grown. Duncan and Austin then discuss the NBA Draft process, their experiences as ‘older' players draft, and why players like themselves and Lakers rookie Dalton Knecht always seem to get overlooked. They also each share their routines while on the road and on game days, as well as address the current three-point narrative around the league. To close out the episode, Tommy and Austin shares their thoughts on the latest update to the NBA 2k25 ratings.
