The CHGO Bulls crew addresses the new rumor that the Portland Trailblazers could be a landing spot for Zach LaVine in his unrestricted free agency this summer. Then they continue their individual player evaluations of the 2021-22 season with Alex Caruso, whose wrist injury derailed an All-Defensive Team season. Caruso proved to be a great offseason addition right away with his incredible defense and high-IQ play on the offensive end. Unfortunately he missed half the season when the fall after Grayson Allen's flagrant foul broke his wrist. Matt, Big Dave & Will give their grades for Caruso's first year with the Bulls and discuss how he can bring even more to the team next season. Matt and Big Dave break down the Bulls 116-100 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 5 on Wednesday night, ending the Bulls 2021-22 season. Without the services of Zach LaVine and Alex Caruso, the Bulls continued their three-point shooting woes in Game 5 as the Bucks jumped out to an early lead and controlled the game from wire to wire. The Bulls shot a franchise-record 52 threes, making just 15 of them. The Bucks stuck with their strategy of daring anyone other than DeMar DeRozan to beat them, and it worked again to perfection. Where do the Bulls go from here, and what moves might the front office make this offseason to improve the roster and push them closer to championship contention? The Lakers season, defined by any shot at making any type of playoff, could come to an end Tuesday, with a loss in Phoenix combined with a Spurs victory in Denver. It would be a stunning result, and the end of a monumental collapse in Februrary and March (the Lakers were a .500 squad as recently as January 25). And if it happens, Magic Johnson, viewed by many as the GLOAT (Greatest Laker of All Time) will be there to throw dirt on the coffin. Magic, who has a documentary to promote, made the rounds on ESPN Monday, crushing the Lakers for not going with DeMar DeRozan instead of Russell Westbrook. Hey, fair enough, but Magic didn't stop there. He noted that DeRozan's agent hand delivered his client to him, and therefore the Lakers (because Magic greased the wheels, it should be noted). BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! Magic also claimed that the Lakers could not only have had DeRozan, but still traded for Buddy Hield, and kept both Alex Caruso and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. The scenario Magic presents was a literal impossibility, beacuse of the rules governing sign and trades, the salary cap and so on, but details have never really been Magic's jam. So why does he keep doing this stuff? What does it mean that Jeanie routinely consults someone who lives to undercut the team's management, and now its star player? (Magic, fairly, blamed LeBron for orchestrating the deal.) HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: It could all end tonight. If it does, Magic will be there throwing dirt on the coffin. SEGMENT 2: Breaking down the craziness of Magic's claims, from the cap math impossibilities to the hypocrisy to the stuff that actually was fair. SEGMENT 3: Why does this keep happening? Luka. Dončić. Need we say more? While watching him on the court often leaves us all wondering "is there anything this guy doesn't do??", there IS one thing that he hasn't done that much of at all. Interviews. Well, at least not like the kind you'll hear on this episode of the OM3. Luka joins JJ and Tommy for a sit down discussion and quickly shows us all that there is much more to him than just his incredible basketball skills. Displaying a sharp, sarcastic wit and humor, Dončić dives in to several topics, including the Mavs red-hot run over the last half of the season, his matchups with the game's other elite players, comparing NBA players to EuroLeague stars, his days of hooping for Real Madrid, and much more. It's a special discussion with someone you certainly don't hear a lot from so don't miss this one. But, that's not all. In fact there's much more that follows as new OM3 correspondent Alex Caruso joins the pod to catch us up on his injury, the Bulls march into the playoffs, and also participates in the Top 5/Draft, which focuses on the 'best March Madness plays that you would have liked to have witnessed in the arena'. So, bottom line, it's a power packed episode of the OM3.     Learn more about your ad choices.
