On the night of Tisha B'Av, the Jewish people cried out of fear, not from a real threat, but from a perceived one. That night became a tragic turning point in our history, not because of a divine punishment, but because fear itself became the seed of generations of sorrow. This class explores the deeper meaning of those "vain tears" through Torah, psychology, and metaphor. From the self-fulfilling prophecy of the spies, to Harvard's famous "Rosenthal Experiment," to the chained circus elephant who forgot her strength, we see how fear and self-image can imprison entire generations. But we are no longer that generation. We are living in a time of healing and empowerment. This Tisha B'Av, we are called to rewrite the script. To cry no more. To rise with resolve. To finally break free and bring healing, light, and redemption to our world.Key Takeaways:Fear isn't always logical, but it's always powerful. Even miracles won't help if we don't believe in ourselves.Vain tears become real pain. When we cry over imagined powerlessness, we invite genuine suffering, because we surrender our G-d-given strength. We see ourselves as grasshoppers and so does the world. The way we perceive ourselves shapes how others treat us.Belief creates reality. Like elephants chained by false memories, we stay stuck not because we are weak, but because we think we are. This is the age of healing. We're not grasshoppers. We're not victims. We are a generation with tools, strength, and clarity. It's time to remember who we are.Tisha B'Av will be transformed. With courage, truth, and unity, even our day of weeping will become a day of joy, with the coming of Moshiach.#fear #healing #Jewish #Judaism #shlach #TorahPortion #Torah #TorahLessons #Bible #BibleStudy #TishaBav #Spirituality #Moshiach #Spiritual #lubavitch #RabbiWisdom Support US and Win BIG www.ndgraffle.comSupport the showGot your own question for Rabbi Bernath? In this weeks class, Rabbi Yisroel Bernath reveals the Torah's timeless wisdom for navigating today's anxious, high-speed world. Rooted in a single verse from Parshat Behaalotecha, we uncover how the cloud that guided the Jewish people through the desert wasn't just GPS, it was G-d's embrace, offering a blueprint for emotional resilience. Drawing on deep Talmudic insight, the story of the Mishkan, and modern-day inspiration like the heroism of Natan Sharansky, this class is a journey into the eye of the storm… where true serenity lives.Takeaways:* The "Magic Pill" for Stress: A single Torah verse can reframe your entire emotional state.* G-d's Embrace Is Constant: Just like a baby in its mother's arms, we can move through chaos and feel held.* Work ≠ Work: The Torah's definition of melachah (creative labor) holds spiritual secrets for how to balance doing and being.* The Sanctuary Within: Whether building or dismantling, stillness comes from knowing you're in the same Divine space.* Tehillim as a Lifeline: Learn how Psalms became the spiritual oxygen for Natan Sharansky—and how they can be for you, too.* Don't Just Know the Psalm. Athena Brownson, a former professional skier who competed for 14 years before becoming a top Denver realtor speaks to Doug in this episode. Athena talks about the challenges she faced after multiple surgeries and becoming chronically ill from lyme disease. She shares why the goal-setting techniques that made her an elite athlete became her lifeline through chronic illness and her approach in real estate. Doug and Athena also explore morning routines, Athena's "greatness tracker" system, and how she transforms nervous energy into excitement. Athena and Doug give actionable strategies for approaching goals, especially when facing adversity. KEY TAKEAWAYS Tough coaching taught Athena consequences and accountability. Her coaches ensured there would be consequences if she wasn't following instructions or skiing to her fullest potential, teaching her resilience and showing up. Lyme disease took Athena from athletic peak to chronic pain, she was diagnosed eight and a half years ago, going from top athlete to barely getting out of bed with 10 out of 10 pain. Athena writes goals in present tense daily as part of her morning routine. She learned to write "I am healing, I am healthy, I am full of energy" even when those things weren't true, creating neural pathways in her brain. Athena created a greatness tracker system for weekly accountability, she prints out weekly action items including face to face meetings, phone calls, notes, open houses, events, plus health goals like gym visits and clean eating. Visualisation has always helped Athena achieve her goals. If she could visualise landing a trick she'd never tried in her head, she knew she could land it in real life; now she visualises sales and happy clients. Real estate requires the same mentality Athena had as an athlete, she believes you need "a little bit of psychosis" to succeed in real estate, the same type athletes have. Goal setting prevents Athena from going on disability despite chronic illnesses, most people in her position go on bed rest and disability, but if she did that she'd be so depressed it would be game over for he. Athena views manifestation as consistent goal-writing by hand, writing goals by hand tells your brain what's important and helps recognise opportunities, making manifestation practical. BEST MOMENTS "I've pretty much been setting goals since I came out of the womb, even if it was unintentional." "Half of the feat of reaching a goal is the simple act of showing up." "If I could visualise, if I could close my eyes, visualise myself landing a trick that I had never tried before, but I landed it in my head, I knew that I could land it in real life." "I reckon we could get rid of a certain amount of mental illness if we could get more people to be goal oriented." "When you're in the midst of adversity, it's actually the most important time to create goals and to create those actionable steps, because that is what is going to keep your mind engaged in a positive manner." In this deeply moving and timely class, Rabbi Bernath opens with a heartfelt prayer for the victims of the Boulder attack and a reminder that silence in the face of evil is complicity. From the courtroom of Judgment at Nuremberg to the Torah portion of Naso, we journey through history, law, and soul.We explore the legacy of Joseph, alone, enslaved, and tempted and how a single vision of his father reminded him: One action changes everything.Joseph, who kept Shabbat even in Egypt, is rewarded not with rest but with purpose, his descendant offering a sacrifice on Shabbat itself, transforming a personal act into a communal revelation. With wisdom from the Lubavitcher Rebbe and reflections on our divine spark, we are reminded that every choice we make is a nuclear reaction of holiness. We are not small. We are not powerless. We are G-d's partners in redeeming this world.Key TakeawaysWe begin with a prayer for those wounded and shaken by the hate-fueled Anti-Jewish violence in Boulder. We must never grow numb to evil nor dismiss the power of standing up for what's right.Moral failure begins the moment we excuse the first injustice. As seen in Nuremberg and echoed in our lives, passivity is complicity.Joseph's strength came not from Torah laws, but from internalizing his worth. His vision of Jacob, representing all of humanity reminded him that his actions mattered deeply. You are not a chemical reaction, you are a nuclear reaction. One spark of holiness from you can ripple outward infinitely.Keeping Shabbat in Egypt wasn't just ritual—it was a declaration: Even in exile, I matter. Even in isolation, my light changes the world. You are the world. As the Lubavitcher Rebbe taught: One human, one deed, one moment, can shake the heavens and awaken redemption.#Jewish #Judaism #Bible #BibleStudy #Shabbat #Nuremberg #MoralCourage #humandignity #Shabbat #Joseph #TorahLessons #TorahPortion #Torah #Rebbe #LubavitcherRebbe #jewishethics Support US and Win BIG www.ndgraffle.comSupport the showGot your own question for Rabbi Bernath? Doug has an inspiring conversation with Life Alchemist Nikola Howard, about turning personal struggles into business success. After dealing with her mother's death, chronic health conditions including polycystic ovaries and endometriosis, and years of business uncertainty, Nikola has created her mission: helping women with chronic conditions build sustainable businesses without burnout. From her award-winning HOPE protocol for nutrition to her new FLOW formula for business, Nikola shares her advice for goal setting, energy management and the power of being specific. KEY TAKEAWAYS Nikola shifted from being the UK's leading low-carb expert to serving women with chronic conditions in business after realising her most loyal clients shared these two characteristics and needed specialised support. Nikola sold her property to go all-in on her mission after years of managing her mother's illness and death. The HOPE protocol for nutrition, PATH for mindset work, and FLOW formula for sustainable business practices tailored to chronic conditions are three interconnected systems Nikola has created. Rejecting the 9-to-5 model, Nikola schedules high-energy tasks after 2 PM when she's naturally most productive. She works as a night owl and designs her business around energy patterns. Nikola has won 26 awards with her lifestyle approach, focusing on permanent change rather than temporary diets, emphasising adult choice and eliminating shame-based language around food decisions. She resisted goal setting for years, believing goals would trap her, Nikola only embraced them when she realised they're actually requests to the universe, not restrictions. Her business model prioritises collaboration over competition, incorporating feminine energies of cooperation and win-win outcomes rather than traditional masculine hustle culture that leads to burnout. Nikola's currently beta-testing her signature program and discovering it's more comprehensive than initially planned, requiring six months rather than nine weeks to properly serve her clients. BEST MOMENTS "The mind is like a puppy and it will run around all over the place. And our job as the thing in charge of our mind's puppy is picking up the puppy and bringing it back to where the focus is." "When you ask the universe what you want, it will give it to you. Might take a while. Sometimes it delivers sideways, but it will always manifest itself." "You can never be too specific. Would be my one goal setting tip." "We always, always overestimate what we are able to do in a year and seriously underestimate what we can achieve in five." "Never be scared of having a goal. Because when you have it, it can happen. But if you don't have it, you are just gonna wander along in your life on autopilot and things will happen to you rather than be caused by you." This episode features an interview with Avi Bhagtani, CMO at Digitate, a company that leverages machine learning and AI to intelligently manage IT and business operations.Avi discusses their success with regional, curated events and how they are investing in AI experiments. He also shares insights into how they are leveraging AI to optimize the website. Key Takeaways:Many successful events are curated, smaller and regional. Marketers who can meet their customer expectations and create networking opportunities with peers will pull ahead. The world of the traditional funnel is gone. The buyer journey is much more user dependent. Buyers have more agency and the journey has become very fast. The speed that generative AI can move when it comes to updating the website and launching ABM campaigns is already astonishing, and will only get better. Marketers should be leveraging these tools to move faster. Quote: “In the last one year, we have experimented with at least 12 to 15 new tools, either for finding our prospects or distilling our signals or increasing productivity with AI, right? Some of them have worked. Some of them have failed miserably, just the nature of the business today. But fortunately, we are doing this going in all eyes wide open, right? We know that some of these things are just gonna work. Some of these things have, you know, they have a little bit of a longer runway that they need to give you the results you want. Some of these just don't work, right? So that's where the majority of the investments are focused on today.”Episode Timestamps: *(03:07) The Trust Tree: Finding every avenue to intercept prospects*(09:06) The Playbook: Consistency of messaging over time*(31:31) The Dust Up: Answer what marketing will do for other functions*(33:48) Quick Hits: Avi quick hitsSponsor:Pipeline Visionaries is brought to you by Qualified.com. In this special post-Shabbat sermon recorded for Shavuot, Rabbi Yisroel Bernath takes us on a profound journey through the remarkable history of the Sassoon Codex and the legendary Crown of Aram Tzova. Woven into this tale of ink and parchment is a modern miracle: the voice of a mother reaching her daughter in captivity, reminding us that the Torah is not just a relic, but a living pulse of our people. From ancient scribes in Tiberias to secret hiding spots in Aleppo, from destruction to redemption, from loss to legacy, Rabbi Bernath reveals how the Jewish People have never just studied the Torah, we've carried it. We've risked our lives to protect it. And today, as we stand at the foot of Sinai once more, we are called to do the same.Key Takeaways:The Torah is Not History… It's Memory: Unlike history, which belongs to the past, memory shapes the present. The Torah is our collective memory and it calls us to live with responsibility and purpose. The Crown is More Than a Book: The story of the Crown of Aram Tzova reflects the Jewish people's fierce dedication to Torah. It symbolizes dignity, identity, and spiritual sovereignty.Miracles Happen When We Stay Connected: Agam Berger's story reminds us that even in darkness, light can pierce through. The Torah isn't just letters on parchment, it's a lifeline, a soul-connector.Torah is Our Crown—But We Must Guard It: Just as communities once locked the Crown in an iron chest, we too must fiercely protect our values, our faith, and our unity.Shavuot is Our Coronation Day: Every year, we place the crown back on our heads. Torah is not a heritage we visit, it's a legacy we live.#Shavuot #shavuos #Jewish #aleppocodex #sassooncodex #Torah #Sermon #Bible #jewishunity #Judaism #JewishHistory #jewishstories Support US and Win BIG www.ndgraffle.comSupport the showGot your own question for Rabbi Bernath? What if the future of Judaism depended not on scholars or sages, but on the sippy cups and crayon-covered siddurim of our children? This powerful class dives into one of the most striking Midrashim about the giving of the Torah: when G-d demanded a guarantor, our ancestors suggested the elders, the prophets, the leaders and were rejected. Only when they offered the children did G-d say: Now we have a deal. But why children? Why not the tzaddikim, the scholars, the sages? And what does it mean that our children were the only "acceptable" security on the Torah?Together, we'll explore a deeply moving interpretation shared by the Lubavitcher Rebbe in 5712 (1952), tracing how this Midrash contains the blueprint for Jewish continuity and our most urgent modern-day call to action.Through Torah, history, poetry, and tears, this class reminds us: if we want Judaism tomorrow, we must invest in our children today.KEY TAKEAWAYS:G-d Doesn't Want Retirement Religion:Torah isn't just for the nostalgic elderly or even for the rabbis, it's for every Jew, of every age and stage.Children Are the True Guarantors:When young hearts taste the sweetness of Torah, it becomes a lifelong imprint—and they end up teaching us.Jewish Education is National Security:Teachers are the true defenders of our people. Want to protect the Jewish future? Start by elevating Jewish schools. From Silence to Ruckus:After the Holocaust, there were no children left to make noise in shul. Today, we must cherish every giggle, every running step, every whispered Shema because that is the sound of eternity.Show Up at Sinai—Again:The custom of bringing children to hear the Ten Commandments on Shavuos is not symbolic it's covenantal. KEY TAKEAWAYS Neil attributes his ‘luck’ or success to two things: adding value for others whenever you can and exchanging contact details with anyone you meet. It costs nothing to be kind and you don’t know when this kindness might come back to you. Neil’s big audacious goal is to create a training programme that can help others do what he does. He wants to share his knowledge and help those struggling financially to have the belief and confidence to get started in what he does. BEST MOMENTS “Always be very, very specific with what you wish for. In other words, how you set your goals.” “ I put it down to two habits. One is always try to add value to others whenever you can. However you can, wherever you can without any expectation of reward. And the second habit was exchange contact details with everybody you ever know." “ Just do these things, you know, be kind, be nice, give a little bit extra. It doesn't cost anything and you never know where it's gonna come back to you.” ”It's about goals coming true. We are all empowered to help other people achieve their goals and when we do that without expectation of reward, reciprocity kicks in.” ABOUT THE GUEST Neil Harvey @SuperhostNeil https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-airbnb-superhost/id1733701622 VALUABLE RESOURCES Website: http://dougbennett.co.uk/ Email: doug@dougbennett.co.uk LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/financialdoug/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/FinancialDoug Facebook Wealth Tribe: https://join.dougbennett.co.uk/ Download Your "Ten-Step Guide To Financial Freedom" Here: https://bit.ly/Struggle-Success BOOKS: Goals Do Come True is now live and available to buy on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3phcy6Z Think Simple, Win Big is now live and available to buy on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Think-Simple-Win-Big-Business/ Enjoy, and come back for the latest podcast each Wednesday. Doug interviews Tyler Dunagin, an entrepreneur and CEO and founder of Turnserv LLC. Tyler shares how he founded one of America's fastest growing companies and talks about his goal setting framework, business psychology and personal growth. Tyler also reveals how he maintains laser focus through daily journaling, whiteboard visualisation and how this helps him achieve success. KEY TAKEAWAYS Tyler believes in deeply understanding your "why", when you know what truly motivates you beyond surface level, you'll have extra fuel to pursue your goals with determination. Visualisation drives Tyler's success, he keeps three horizons of goals visible on whiteboards everywhere: weekly goals, yearly goals, and 'delusional' long-term visions. Daily journaling transformed Tyler's accountability, he writes at least one bullet point every day about goal progress, framing entries as if leaving a legacy of lessons for his three sons. Tyler strategically chose property for his business, targeting a market with predictability (50% of renters move yearly), growth potential (housing shortage) and opportunities for innovation. Building company culture is about psychology, not spreadsheets. Tyler focuses on making systems simple for his team, connecting them to purpose and creating transparent processes. Tyler gives managers equity in his companies, ensuring team members' interests align with company goals, so when he discusses selling the company, they are invested. Tyler credits vulnerability for his growth, he intentionally put himself in rooms where he felt inadequate and embraced being 'the dumbest person there' to accelerate learning rather than trying to appear clever. BEST MOMENTS "If I don't write it down, if I don't have a deadline, if I don't have some sort of tractional plan, it just doesn't happen. And I've learned that about myself so literally every single capacity that I do in my life is goal oriented." "Every single day I need to be able to see the goals I have. So, at my office, at my home where I'm at now, I have a simple whiteboard and in as little space as possible, I keep those things. Here's my goals for this week, here's my goals for this year, and here's my crazy, if I showed anybody this, they would think I'm delusional." "When you understand why you do things first, you gotta preface that when you understand what you're motivated about and why the, you're gonna, you're gonna have some extra fuel." "Growing a big business, you need to first look at the market that you're getting into 'cause it matters. You don't want to be getting into a profession that's so dependent on one person and it's a dying industry." "I look at the companies I have today and how quickly they have grown and all the accolades and whatnot. All of those things started in my head way before they actually came tangible and anybody can do these kind of things." ABOUT THE GUEST Tyler Dunagin, CEO and Founder of Turnserv LLC.
