In this video podcast I want to talk about managing mental health during difficult times, specifically focusing on how to cope with bad days and weeks. A few weeks ago, I experienced a particularly bad day. This rough patch stemmed from some unresolved health issues that I thought were behind me but resurfaced unexpectedly. This led to a period of low mood and increased anxiety. For those of you who don't know, I've battled postnatal depression and anxiety. While these feelings still surface from time to time, I've learned ways to support myself and continue working towards my dreams. On this particularly bad day, I struggled to maintain my usual self-care routines. I broke my boundaries, sought comfort in unhelpful habits like excessive TV watching and unhealthy eating, and felt overwhelmed with emotions. I cried on and off throughout the day, even while out and about. It was tough, but I came out of that lull and wanted to share some thoughts that could help you. God meets us in the gap. I've been looking at the dreams of my life and the steps and journey of how they came to be. I realised I'd unintentionally not really talked about the bit I couldn't explain. The God part, the miracle or the divine. Well I'll be sharing the whole thing with you going forward. I realised I probably hadn't touched on the God part because I'd been focused on sharing repeatable steps, the how to, the practical. And how do you teach people a miracle? But the God part has been a big part of all the bigger goals and some seemingly small and mundane things. So I'll share the whole shebang, having dreams, turning them into goals, making plans and supporting yourself with routines, mindset and more. But I'll also share on leaving room for the divine. Having those big dreams and goals even when on paper they don't look possible. Writing down and committing to the dream in your heart that you have no idea on how to make possible. I really think that when we dream and decide and start to move towards our goal something mysterious can happen that brings a new solution, a way forward suddenly becomes possible! Inner healing and forgiveness - processing childhood hurts that are causing blocks or resistance from achieving your goals In this episode I share about my experience of having a Christian based RMR session (Rapid Mindset Renewal) to process and face childhood painful experiences that are affecting me as an adult. We all go through hard, painful or traumatic experiences as a child, our minds then create a story which we subconsciously hold through to adulthood. We don't always realise that childhood experiences are affecting us and causing blocks or resistance as we try to design our lives and go for our goals. RMR which also comes in non religious forms or more spiritual based forms really is about uncovering the subconscious thoughts and feelings around particular childhood or past hurtful experiences then healing and processing them so they don't affect us anymore. You can also do this work by being curious about the challenges you face or the resistance you feel to taking action on your dreams. What's going on? What am I feeling in my body? What are the thoughts in my mind? When did I first feel like this? Was there an incident that I felt the same feeling? What happened? Was the story/meaning I assigned to that situation true? What would I say now to that child or younger version of me feeling and experiencing that? What meaning do I choose or does my God tell me is true, that I choose to assign today that empowers me? I hope sharing my story helps you uncover some things that have held you back and start the journey of healing. 7 ways I make money online using my skills, God given gifts and my story My first online sales came from creating my own branded products that I sold on Amazon FBA. I loved the way I had grown as a person in starting my business and wanted to share that so I started creating printables, planners and sharing my story and content. I opened my Etsy shop itstartswiththedream and remember how nervous I was, then getting my first sale. I then sold my printables on my website, then physical planners. I relaised I had to make my own traffic. I built my 100 or so subscribers by sharing free printables in Facebook groups. I created blog posts, used instagram and Pinterest. I then started making Youtube videos which I post on my blog, and use the audio on my podcast. Next I took a course called Passive Income Planner Girl by Michelle Rohr and this was the best $99 I ever spent in my business! I became an affiliate which means you get paid if people buy a product through a link. They promote my course and get a commission. That's one of my favourite ways to make an income. I've run a membership where I coach women through goal setting. I also offered one to one sessions with my planner students as some wanted more help or accountability.
