40% of us have to learn new skills thanks to AI by Nick Espinosa, Chief Security Fanatic
FRIENDS! AI came up with that title and it is hard not what I would have chosen for myself
Leer nieuwe skills. Lees hier meer over het onderzoek: To Stay Sharp as You Age, Learn New Skills.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

What gets people to learn new skills? In school we were told what to learn. Lets face it: much of it was never of any help to our future lives. Who needs to know how many keys are on a piano keyboard? Why do i need to know this? Kids are learning this stuff although they don't have a piano and are not learning to play it. Same happens with career related education. An apprenticeship has lots to offer, but some things don't get the necessary attention and others are outdated. University studies also have their issues. Many uni teachers are not working in the field. They either finished their masters then got a PhD and from their worked their way to get a teaching contract. Many have never or far too short of a business career to show others, how to do stuff the right way. A lot of uni content is theory. That is why people develop limiting believes, that if competitors are everywhere, there is no space for them to do business, find a job, get clients, grow their business or get other things done, just because they were told the market is a limited environment. Apparently the market is a cake and beyond that piece of cake, we see there is a big tiger who does not let us have more. In fact the market is not a cake. It is a sphere in which we can thrive as business people, employees, employers, politicians or simply as human beings. In this episode, Joshua and Mike talk about how it is that we learn new skills. They contend that we have to get over a reductive and mechanical way of looking at human life and action. We are not machines and we don't learn new skills by “downloading” information. Instead, we practice. Through sustained work, we begin to embody these new skills in a way that make it look easy – because, in a sense, it actually becomes easy. In this episode, Joshua and Mike bring together several things that rarely appear in the same conversation: downhill skiing, hand skills in relation to intellectual comprehension, Aristotelian ethics, ancient Hebrew cosmology, parenting, and installing a kitchen sink, for starters.

Learn new skills to enhance your business.
In this new podcast episode, Mike and Joshua talk about the struggle to learn new skills and ways to overcome the hurdles. The journey begins with a resolved commitment but is only carried out through regular practice.
Managers, at least the good ones, realize that we don't know it all. Sure, back in the day we went to school and took a lot of classes. We learned a lot. Then we went out and got jobs. Since then we've probably not been learning that many new things. As the world in which we work continues to spin and evolve, we understand that there are a lot of things that we probably need to take the time to learn about. Things like agile development, that new 5G wireless technology, even things like emotional management. The problem that we all face is to find the time that is needed to learn new things. How can we make this happen? --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jim-anderson0/support

My first experience with E-learning took place in the early 90's as I learned about how the Internet worked while it was still developing. And over the years I've used Lynda.com, Udemy, YouTube, and other platforms to learn about subjects I was interested in. Today the options to learn from anywhere are growing at an amazing rate. For my Full Time RV followers, if you're interested in something there's most likely a class about it online! Learning doesn't have to stop just because you're in a "non-traditional" environment. Included in today's show is the announcement of my latest online course too. Drone 3D Modeling for Beginners. And for the first 25 signups from this podcast.....you get the class for free. So if you're curious about making 3D Models with Drones, this is the class for you. All I ask is that you provide some honest feedback on the course when you've watched it. Continuing on the recent theme, today we'll talk about the value of online courses for highly mobile people. If you're on the road with your RV, or trying out the Vanlife, or maybe you're a world traveler, you don't need to be in one location to learn new skills. Online classes have come a long way over the years, and if there's a subject you're interested in, there's probably an online course that covers your topic. •Check out my Drone Photography Course - Only $10 for listeners: https://bit.ly/2Q9Y1Zo •Learn to build websites with X Theme and Wordpress.
