In 2017, Cody Rhodes wasn't in WWE or AEW--he was the reigning, defending Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Champion. On this show, one of the biggest of the ROH calendar year, he defended that title against visiting NJPW talent Minoru Suzuki in the main event. Unfortunately, that was fairly unimpressive. On the bright side, most of the rest of the card was really freakin' good. We see A LOT of the Young Bucks on this night as they defend the Tag Titles as well as attempt to win the Six Man Tag Titles. The now-disgraced "Villain" Marty Scurll faces one of the Best Friends, Chuckie T. KUSHIDA puts the ROH TV Title on the line against Kenny King. The future Damien Priest, Punishment Martinez takes on "Switchblade" Jay White in a Las Vegas Street Fight. Also, "The Last Real Man" Silas Young and Jay Lethal possibly have the match of the night as they face off in a Last Man Standing match. Also, in the news, we discuss the death of a legendary manager, a former WCW and WWE World Champion teasing a return to the ring, updates on Daniel Bryan's attempted journey back to the ring, where Rey Mysterio will end up, a major controversy over the FloSports streaming service, the death of Global Force Wrestling, and much, much more! This week’s episode brought to you by Indy Wrestling US, Slice on Broadway, Occupy Pro Wrestling, and Lucha Fiesta! We've got a special Mike and Mike edition of the show this week as we're talking about some new news - and some old news in professional wrestling. This week we're talking about: Neville is back - - in Dragon Gate. Dear Chris DeJoseph: Mad Mike has some thoughts for Neville for Lucha Underground. xoxox Punishment Martinez is headed to WWE. Sorg is predicting that once the WWE Performance Center gets hold of Punishment Martinez, he's going to look a little different. A special, special thing happened to RAW. And, we think Tina Keys may be partially to blame. We can agree that Lio Rush was not ready for Seattle. OH: What happened in Seattle is like when you're shaving and accidentally hit an artery. Wait....Mad Mike was happy with something on RAW?!?!? We're talking some comparison between Brie Bella and Maurice. We're apparently imagining what Punishment Martinez smells like on this episode? The Shield was half of a 3-hour RAW. Wrap your head around that. Can we tell you about the Broken Universe? [Picture as a door-to-door mission group pitch.] There's a Super Show Down happening. We're sharing some thoughts. It's WWE writing - it's not supposed to be Shakespeare. We all see a Dean Ambrose turn coming. The question is whether it'll be at Super Show Down or the RAW after. Are we going to see a Kings of Wrestling reunion somewhere down the line? Sorg just realized that The Bushwackers may be a possibility to appear for Super Show Down. This week's Big Question: What is (other than the Mayhem Show of course) the best wrestling podcast (preferably from an actual wrestler)? Thanks to Dave Podnar for providing the Best of 2008 WWE Magazine for Sorg. It's a nice little time capsule that he's using to fill out the last part of the show. Sorg is playing Guess Who with the faces on the front of the Best of 2008 WWE Magazine he has in studio. We're trying to finagle a way to watch No Holds Barred with David Arquette... Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc returned for an exciting one year anniversary edition of PWW. They kicked off the show with the biggest Pro-Wrestling story of the week, Hulk Hogan being re-instated to the WWE Hall of Fame. Hogan had served a three year suspension from the WWE due to the racist comments he made on the infamous sex tape that resulted in his lawsuit against Gawker. Hogan was backstage at Sunday's WWE Event in Pittsburgh and apologized to the cast and crew for his actions and apparently it was filmed for a future WWE Network piece. Tony and Beau debated the validity of the WWE's Hall of Fame and what it might mean for other potential inductees who have checkered pasts. Tony and Beau then spoke with Ring of Honor's Scorpio Sky ahead of this July 21st's ROH TV Taping, Saturday Night at Center-Stage which is taking place, right here, in Atlanta, Georgia. One third of SoCal Uncensored talked about the early days of his career, what it's like to work alongside two ROH stalwarts such as Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels. Scorpio also talked up his pending match with Punishment Martinez for the TV Title and why, compared to Southern California, every town is the worst town he's ever been in. After the interview they brokedown Sunday's WWE PPV event, Extreme Rules. Beau asked Tony if the pacing, structure and matches reminded him of an old WCW show given the array of silliness and gimmicks in the night's contests. Both hosts also took the crowd in Pittsburgh and the WWE itself for the way fans highjacked the show during the Main Event Iron Man match. The results of the PPV then spun into recaps of this week's WWE TV, including the potential match-up for Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. They both fawned over The Miz's (MLB Celebrity All-Star Game MVP) work on Smackdown and hope we're finally going to get the long promised match between him and Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam as well. Beau Le Blanc will be on vacation next week, so no show then, but thank you for checking us out and you can catch all our past episodes at www.ProWrestlingWednesday.com, iTunes or wherever your better podcasts are found.

Tony Schiavone and Beau Le Blanc returned to the podcast airwaves today to talk about the Greatest Royal Rumble, the "controversy" surrounding the event, and whether or not it lived up to the hype? Of course, the highlight of that event was Titus O'Neil tripping and falling under the ring apron, which as of Monday Night's Raw broadcast, seems to be his new gimmick. That lead to a discussion of whether "funny" can equal "money" in Pro-Wrestling.
