Then we go around the horn in DMV basketball, starting high with the Wizards and finishing low with the Terps.
Our first episode of the football season comes at the Washington Football Team's bye week. Better late than never, right? We run through all that has happened over the last few months, both on and off the field. (Spoiler: We're not winning on either.) Then we go around the NFL and discuss the Wizards' hot start to their season. And finally we wrap up with Rotten Gregories and 20 Questions. Good to be back!
Mid-August means preseason football is underway! Which is a good thing because baseball is now meaningless. We recap the Washington Football Team's first preseason game before reacting to the Nationals' sell-off and the progress of the Orioles' rebuild. Then we discuss the Wizards' busy offseason before playing a round of "20 Questions."
Been gone for a month, so we're tackling everything: Nationals and Orioles baseball, end of the Wizards season and NBA playoffs, Washington Football Team OTAs and minicamp. Heck, even some Maryland lacrosse. Then we go through an extensive Rotten Gregories and a local WFT alum for 20 Questions.
Everyone's mad at Tom Wilson. But then the Rangers made fools of themselves. We break down the Willy vs. Rangers saga before getting into Russell Westbrook's historic triple double run and the Wizards' chances at the playoffs. The we recap the Washington Football Team's draft while getting into an Aaron Rodgers-to-D.C. scenario. All of that and more before 20 Questions to wrap it up!

We break down each move and what's going on with the rest of the league. Meanwhile, with March Madness tipping off, how deep of a run can Maryland and Georgetown make? Be sure to stick around for our improved State of College Athletics conversation, including Big 10 vs. ACC. Plus, Bobby and Tom try to get Ian to watch "Last Chance U" and the "Snyder Cut."
NFL free agency is approaching and the Washington Football Team is in great financial position to make a splash. What moves would we like to see them make coming off a division title? Meanwhile, Bradley Beal will make his first start at the All-Star Game this weekend, so Bobby and Ian draft their own All-Star teams. Not to be left out, there's a little Caps talk in between.
After a couple of quiet weeks, the Washington Football Team is making headlines again. Alex Smith came out with some damning quotes in a recent GQ article, saying the team “didn’t want me there.” We try to read between the lines and what it means for the WFT's future at QB. Plus, Bradley Beal finally gets some respect on his name and baseball is back!
The first domino to fall in the NFL offseason happened before the Super Bowl with Matt Stafford going to the Rams for a massive haul. How does this affect the Washington Football Team's pursuit of a quarterback? Plus, the Terps pulled off another upset over a ranked opponent. Are they tourney worthy? And the Caps are off to hot start, so what's their ceiling this season? Stay tuned for Porter's surprise at Tom's expense!
This John Wall-Russell Westbrook trade hasn't really worked out for the Wizards, has it? Before we get into that, we recap Championship Weekend in the NFL and preview Super Bowl LV. Then we get into the Wizards, their first meeting with John Wall and what they should do with Bradley Beal. We finish the episode with a recap of the WFT's front office hires and what they should do with the quarterback position. Oh, and the Baseball Hall of Fame is a joke.
All hail Taylor Heinicke! In what was the game of his life, Taylor Heinicke went toe-to-toe with Tom Brady and gave the Washington Football Team a chance to win. We recap the Wild Card loss to the Bucs and look ahead to the offseason, including the futures of pending free agents and Kyle Smith. Plus, we go around the NFL and preview the Divisional Round before discussing the blockbuster James Harden trade and what it means for the NBA.
Four straight for the Washington Football Team?! We're riding the hot hand and going streaking! We recap Chase Young's dominant performance and debate how the WFT should approach the quarterback position for the rest of this season and beyond. Stay tuned for a special guest appearance around the midway point (and it's not just Porter).
Undefeated no more! The Washington Football Team pulled off the biggest upset of the season with a win over the previously 11-0 Steelers. How did they do it and where do we go from here? Friend of the show Ray Wyder joins the show to break down the win and Week 13 around the NFL. Plus, we discuss the biggest trade in D.C. history as the Wizards acquired Russell Westbrook for John Wall.
Coming off a convincing win over the Bengals, the 3-7 Washington Football Team is primed for a Thanksgiving Day showdown at the 3-7 Dallas Cowboys for first place in the NFC East. We've got your victory recap and Turkey Day preview, Plus, we'll evaluate the Wizards' draft and discusses John Wall's reported trade request. Then, we do our first annual fantasy draft of Thanksgiving foods and a quick Rotten Gregories. Happy start to the Holiday Season, everyone!

We'll take a win over the Cowboys any time and twice on Sundays! After throttling Dallas, is Washington a true contender to win the NFC East? We break down Sunday's win ahead of the bye week and go around the NFL as our Pick 'Em race gets tighter. We also wrap up the Dodgers' win in World Series and Kevin Cash's decision to pull Blake Snell in the middle of a gem. Quick wrap up with a preview of season two of "The Mandalorian."
Through the last two confusing weeks, we only have one question for the Washington Football Team: What are we doing here? Ron Rivera has given up on games, but says they're going for it. He benches Dwayne Haskins for developmental reasons, but then slanders his attitude. So what are the goals for this year and is it wrong to question Rivera's confusing methods?
Baseball is over, so we're hopping back on the mics after Week 3! We're recapping the Washington Football Team's 1-2 start and answering two important questions: Dwayne Haskins needs more time, but does he also have glaring concerns and why did Ron Rivera wave the flag two games in a row? Then we go around the NFL and preview Week 4's matchup against the Ravens. Porter gives us a Rotten Gregories to finish.

What does a sports podcast do when there are no sports? Well, we're about to find out. The coronavirus has suspended the sporting world with all major leagues and events either paused or cancelled. We react to this unprecedented pandemic and how it affects the local teams. Plus, we also touch on how the Redskins should approach trading Trent Williams and what they could get back for him. Stay safe!
"College Game Day" in College Park was a great experience for the Terps ... except the game itself. How concerned are we about them heading into March and the postseason? In the NFL, Mel Kiper Jr. says the Redskins should take Tua Tagovailoa with the No. 2 pick. What are our ideal draft scenarios and free agent targets, plus where might Tom Brady land in free agency? Then to wrap up, Porter discusses "Narcos: Mexico" and more on Rotten Gregories.
Back after a break and hitting all the bases! We start with Alex Ovechkin joining the 700 goal club and the Caps' trade deadline moves. Then Bradley Beal goes off for 50+ points in back-to-back games. And ESPN's "College Game Day" is coming to College Park for MSU vs. Maryland. For the first time, we discuss our experience at the DC Defenders game and how the XFL can survive. Then to wrap up, Bobby talks about his spring training trip to Nats and Orioles camps.
The NFL season is done with the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl. What does this mean for Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes' legacies, and does Kyle Shanahan now have a narrative for losing big leads in big games? We also touch on some Redskins news involving Vernon Davis, Alex Smith and Greg Olsen. Then we shift to basketball: Bradley Beal was not elected to the All-Star Game but Davis Bertans is in the Three-Point Contest. To wrap up, we discuss Dusty Baker managing the Astros and Porter goes on a political rant.
Our toughest episode to date as The Rag joins us to discuss the life and legacy of Kobe Bryant, who died along his daughter, Gianna, and seven others in a helicopter crash outside of L.A. on Sunday. We discuss what he meant to the sporting world and how people will remember him before reminiscing some of our favorite Kobe moments. For the second half, we get into the Eli Manning-Hall of Fame debate and preview this weekend's Super Bowl between the Chiefs and 49ers. #RIPKobe (Photo: BossLogic)
It's a boring time in sports, with two weeks until the Super Bowl, so we sort of jump around this episode and go off the books. Porter is back as we recap Championship Weekend in the NFL and briefly look at this year's Super Bowl matchup. Then we discuss Alex Ovechkin and the Caps at the All-Star break before wrapping up with Bradley Beal and Wizards talk. We somehow also go down a Spurs dynasty rabbit hole...
It's already been an eventful week in the sporting world, so good thing we're a GD sports podcast! We go over the performance Joe Burrow and LSU put on in the National Championship Game before looking ahead at the draft and what Kyle Smith's promotion means for the Redskins. Then we get into the punishments handed down by MLB to the Astros for sign stealing and if it was enough. (Thank God the Nats won the World Series!) To wrap up, we watch an abysmal ending to the Terps' loss in Wisconsin, review last weekend's NFL playoff games and preview Championship Weekend.
To start the new year, we are joined by a very special guest, former Redskins linebacker Robert Henson. The 2009 sixth-round draft pick discusses playing high school football on a stacked team in Longview, Tx., going on to play at TCU and then being drafted by the Redskins. Henson has great tidbits on childhood friend and former teammate Trent Williams' possible return to the Redskins, what it's like to play under Dan Snyder and Bruce Allen, why players hated the former Redskins training staff and much more. Plus, he has great stories from his days in D.C. about former Redskins London Fletcher and Clinton Portis, and also looks ahead to the team's future under Ron Rivera. This is a must-listen podcast for any Redskins fan!
It's our 100th episode!!! We're celebrating with our best moments so far, plus our favorite D.C. sports moments, players and teams of the decade. We want to thank everyone for listening and sticking with us, we really appreciate it. We'll be back for 100+ more in 2020 and beyond.
We're going streaking!! We've been posting episodes every week since the end of the World Series, the Redskins have won two in a row and Porter is finally back! We're recapping the Redskins' win over the Panthers and discussing all the stud performances by young players. Then we'll talk some Terps hoops, who are the No. 3 team in the country and face a tough week ahead. To wrap up after around the league and Pick 'EM, Porter reviews "The Irishman." We'll see you again before Christmas!
We have more of a book on Dwayne Haskins after Sunday's win over the Lions ... and it's still not too good. FOTP Cookie joins us as we go over the rookie QB's performance, his late arrival and selfie before discussing other young guys that have impressed. Then this episode's big question: Is this sustainable? We talk some hoops and puck, including why the Wizards are so fun to watch and if the Caps are the team to beat in hockey. Then we wrap up with around the NFL and Pick 'Em.
With Porter not able to join, FOTP Joe Arvis returns to round out this week's foursome! We talk in depth about the Astros cheating scandal and how MLB should punish them for stealing signs. Then we dive into the Redskins' loss to the Jets and try to evaluate Dwayne Haskins' start before going around the NFL and Pick 'Em.
The Rag joins us in studio as we record from the comfy confines of the couches in Tom's new basement. Bill Callahan has named Dwayne Haskins the Redskins' starting quarterback for the remainder of the season. Does that change anything? What are we watching since we're so checked out on the 'Skins' season? Plus, Jeff Bezos, please buy the team! Finally, Porter discusses "Jack Ryan" and gets into it with Rag over Batman vs. Punisher. Tom is interrupted often. Enjoy!
THE NATIONALS ARE YOUR 2019 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS! We have a championship, parade and celebration to recap with Umo, and we are going to take our sweet time like champs. Key players, turning points, defining moments and best partiers will all be discussed. Of course, the Nats raged with the Caps and it was lit. And then we shift to football, with a long discussion about how the Redskins should move forward with Bill Callahan and Dwayne Haskins. Plus, Umo gives his take on how the Ravens have become contenders. Buckle up, it’s a championship episode. Let's have more parades.
THE NATIONALS WON THE NL PENNANT AND ARE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES! Bobby goes through his postseason experiences so far, including all the Nats' clubhouse celebrations, and the boys figure out how we got here and who we would rather play in the Fall Classic. Plus, FOTP Ryan Trees joins us to discuss how Orioles fans are treating this Nats postseason run. Then, the Redskins finally won a game! How do they move forward post Jay Gruden and what do they do with Dwayne Haskins. Long but fun podcast.
Shocker: The Redskins were an embarrassment on Monday Night Football. How did they get here and how do they go about fixing this disaster? On the other hand, the Nationals made it all the way back to the postseason! How did they turn it around and who starts the wild card game? Plus, Porter's days with the Redskins and Bobby finished "The Wire."
The NFL regular season is underway and we have a jam-packed episode to preview the 2019 Redskins! When will we see Dwayne Haskins? Will Jay Gruden return next year? What will the Redskins' final record be? We run through the roster and our predictions for the new season, while also making playoff and Super Bowl picks. Speaking of ... Pick 'EM is back and that means so is our pal Dick Cummings! We make Week 1 picks before getting a great Rotten Gregories on the new Dave Chappelle stand-up special. HTTR!
Redskins preseason Game 2 is in the books, and we have in-game and postgame reactions! We recorded during the end of the game talking about the QB progresses, defensive depth and the WR group. Plus, we talk baseball again for the first time in a while. A national baseball writer is going after the Orioles and the Nationals are in the tightest playoff run they've ever been in (and the fan base is still upset about something). And Tom was embarrassed on TV ... again. (Shoutout to friend of the program, Tim Murray!)
We are watching football! The Redskins started their preseason schedule in Cleveland against the Browns, and it was the Dwayne Haskins and Jimmy Moreland show. In a loss, Haskins showed flashes but also showed his rookie side. And Jimmy Moreland is playing his way into the starting lineup. Check out our full preseason Week 1 recap!
Alright, we're back! Redskins training camp is underway and we're breaking down all the angles! Obviously, the Trent Williams saga is the head storyline, but we also get into who is standing out and the quarterback competition. Then we discuss what the Nats and Orioles might do at the trade deadline before getting into Ted Leonsis not bringing back Steve Buckhantz. Finally, we wrap up with Tom's review of "New Girl" and Bobby's review of "The Wire" so far.
A lot of questions this week on PMIC. Are we happy for Toronto for winning the NBA Finals? Where does Kawhi Leonard go? Do the Wizards trade Bradley Beal? What do the Wiz do with the No. 9 pick in Thursday's draft? How would you rank the four Washington head coaches? And why is Robert Pattinson the next Batman?!
Hey, longtime no see! After Bobby kept us off your airwaves for a month, PMIC is back with a packed episode! Friend of the program Joe Arvis joins us in studio to discuss the NBA Finals and KD's injury, the Trent Williams saga at Redskins Park, the latest on the O's and Nats, and (finally) the ending to "Game of Thrones"!
There's not much going on in D.C. sports ... so let's geek out! This is easily one our least "sporty" episodes as we go all in on "Avengers: Endgame" and the latest "Game of Thrones" episode. We are full of spoilers, so beware! Avengers talk is from the beginning until 38:54 and GOT talk starts at 52:08 until the end. In between is some talk on the NBA playoffs and players bitching throughout. Enjoy, true believers and sports fans alike!
