Standig Room Only: A show about the Washington Football Team and D.C. sports
The Athletic's Ben Standig breaks down everything that happened on cut down day -- and talks all things Washington Football Team with the great Greg Cosell from ESPN's NFL matchup show. Ben starts with Washington trimming its roster to 53. Why is Jimmy Moreland gone? How about Sammis Reyes staying! Which release surprised other NFL teams the most (nope, not him. Or him. Or even him)? Then Greg joins the episode for a deep dive into WFT. Scott Turner's X's and O's, and Ryan Fitzpatrick's fit. Defensive wrinkles and the DL he likes watching on tape. Praise for Jamin Davis? Plenty of other topics as well.
The Washington Football Team's (initial) 53-man roster is set, and JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey are here to run through every key takeaway about it. Why is Jimmy Moreland gone (and could he be back?). Is Troy Apke truly deserving of a spot? Four linebackers? No Peyton Barber or AGG? The guys cover all of those topics and more, and then close it out with a note on Brandon Scherff. If you like podcasts where there's an uncomfortably long silence right at the top and Pete tries to be very journalism-y and falls flat on his face, then this is the episode for you.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Washington was back at it on Sunday... and so were JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey. In this next camp show, the guys break down Ryan Fitzpatrick's progress, Dyami Brown's continued streak of good play, a concerning update from Ron about Curtis Samuel, what to expect in the preseason opener, what's going on at left guard, Jimmy Moreland's place on the squad and more. Once they say goodbye, say hello to JP's 1-on-1 with Jonathan Allen, who tells JP what he cares about as a defensive tackle and what mindset the franchise has moving forward. This Washington Football Talk starts off with a bang, just like the 2020 season did on Sunday thanks to the franchise's giant win over the Eagles. JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey begin by yelling lots of positive things from the FedEx Field parking lot, before getting into more specific things that stood out to them from the opener, such as the fantastic pass rush and Dwayne Haskins' leadership. Eventually, they get into an impromptu new segment where they debate the Play of the Day before transferring to their always reliable Game Balls and Goats and over/under recap segments. The hosts continue to ooze happiness as things close with JP's tremendous speech on persevering and Pete stumbling through an ad read. While a lot seems to be changing with this organization, that will always remain. Once they sign off, you'll hear Ryan Kerrigan, Chase Young and Jimmy Moreland's postgame interviews, all of which aired on NBC Sports Washington's postgame TV show. If you like podcasts where the Lion King theme song gets broken out and JP comes up with a splendid Haskins nugget, then this is the episode for you. Enjoy this one, guys. We all deserve it.
The fellas talk season plans, Jailyn Ford, Jimmy Moreland and UNH/RU/URI previews. Plus end-of-summer drinks and a couple of prop Over/Unders. Next week is Mountaineer Week! Thanks to Pale Fire and Mossy Creek!
Eric Crocker talks about the value of DB's in the draft, how much impact the new pass interference replay rules may have on games, and gives his opinion on the Antonio Brown helmet situation in Oakland. He also highlights Jimmy Moreland, and other rookie standouts from the first week of preseason.
JP Finlay, Mitch "Bday Boy" Tischler and Pete Hailey returned to JP’s car for this Redskins Talk, for old time’s sake. In it, they pile on a ton of practice notes from Saturday’s session, including injury updates as well as thoughts on Jimmy Moreland, Cole Holcomb and the QBs. They also do “One Thing” and recap their Cleveland trip. You’ll also hear JP’s Thursday postgame interviews with Moreland (20:25) and Robert Davis (26:01), the two stars from Cleveland. If you like podcasts where Pete displays an impressive amount of old NBA knowledge and everyone celebrates Mitch’s birthday, then this is the episode for you.

JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey are here for this wrap-up of the Redskins' second open OTAs session, and they're joined at various points by Julie Donaldson and John Keim as well. In this hour-long conversation, you'll hear their impressions on everything that they saw, from how Dwayne Haskins' development is going to how much Jimmy Moreland is standing out to what receivers are emerging. They also do plenty on 'Hard Knocks' potentially covering the Redskins, which was a major topic in Ashburn on Wednesday. If you like podcasts where Pete gets a chance to sort out his complicated Receiver Roundup and all the notes are about, get this, football and not injuries, then this is the episode for you.
JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey are always happy to welcome Fred Smoot on, and as he always does, Smooth delivered for Redskins Talk. In his discussion with the hosts, Smooth opens up about Montae Nicholson potentially sliding in next to Landon Collins, his HIGH hopes for Jimmy Moreland, his LOW hopes for Troy Apke, why he wants the 'Skins to get rid of Josh Norman and more secondary-related things. All of it is high-quality analysis and it, as usual, is mixed in with plenty of hilarious Smoot-isms. At the end, the former Washington standout also gets riled up about Game of Thrones, ripping the characters he hates and giving his prediction for who'll sit on the Iron Throne. If you like podcasts where Smoot gives Pete love advice and Smoot goes all in on the goings on in Westeros, then this is the episode for you.
Following the NFL Draft, Greg Madia and Jim Sacco discuss how former James Madison cornerback Jimmy Moreland fits with the Washington Redskins, who drafted Moreland in the seventh round as well as the chances for former JMU running backs Marcus Marshall and Cardon Johnson who both have rookie camp invites. Also, Shane Mettlen talks JMU hoops and Cody Elliott breaks down the prep scene.
The 2019 NFL Draft is over, and JP Finlay, Pete Hailey and Mitch Tischler are here to give you their wrap-up from what looks like an incredibly productive weekend for the Redskins. The three hosts are hanging on two respective porches, and to start, they run through Saturday's picks then give their overall impressions of the class as a whole. Then, they go through every pick, from the team's last to the first, and give their thoughts on each player. How does Jimmy Moreland fit into the secondary, what does Mitch think of the O-linemen and what does everyone make of the Bryce Love pick? All that analysis, and PLENTY more, can be found in this segment. Next, everyone identifies their GUY that they're most pumped to see in the Burgundy and Gold this season, before looking at spots that the 'Skins didn't address via the draft. Lastly, JP explains why the narrative that Washington is dysfunctional when it comes to this part of the offseason needs to be updated before they close out the proceedings with an old song that Pete of course doesn't get. If you like podcasts where Mitch gets irrationally mad at Pete for trying to bring up a fun fact and a golf tee disrupts JP's points at multiple portions, then this is the episode for you.

Readyforthedraft.com's Gregg Schutze shares his passion for the NFL draft and takes you on a journey leading up to the 2019 NFL Draft. Episode 13 kicks off with Gregg taking a look at Duke's Daniel Jones. Is he a sure-fire 1st Round pick in 2019? Should he come back for his senior season? Another year under head coach David Cutcliffe saw the Manning brothers become a more complete prospect. It may behoove Jones to do the same. Gregg also looks at players flying under the radar. Trayveon Williams and Darrell Henderson are putting up huge stats, but aren't getting the notoriety they deserve, while Ryquell Armstead and Karan Higdon lead the charge for seniors in the backfield. Andy Isabella is a viable possession WR while Preston Williams, Antoine Wesley and Jonathan Duhart can be weapons on the outside. TE Donald Parham of Stetson could be the sleeper of this year's draft while Max Scharping and Andre Dillard are sneaky good OT's up front. Jaylon Ferguson is closing in on Terrell Suggs' sack record while Oshane Ximines is putting up big stats, but isn't a name many are familiar with yet. Gerald Willis has emerged along the interior defensively whle Cortez Broughton has finally put it all together. Daniel Wise and Chris Slayton will be nice interior players, while Kingsley Keke looks more and more like a five-technique in a 34 defense. In the New NFL, a LB has to be able to run. E.J. Ejiya, Ulysees Gilbert III, Chase Hansen, Germaine Pratt and Terrill Hanks fit that mold, while Khalil Hodge and Ben Burr-Kirven are tackling machines inside. Looking for a big CB? You're in luck as Rock Ya-Sin Derrick Baity, Jamal Peters and Justin Layne all have tremendous length and have all proven to have the ball skills needed to succeed at the next level. And at Safety, we know that Deionte Thompson, Johnathan Abram, Taylor Rapp and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson are the top safeties in this year's draft class, but Cedarius Rookard and Darnell Savage, Jr. can make plays too. And if you're looking for FCS prospects, be sure to watch for WR Keelan Doss, RB Ryan Fulse, DE Derick Roberson, DT's Isaiah Mack and Sterling Shippy, LB Sterling Sheffield and CB's Jimmy Moreland and Nasir Adderley.
Lawrence takes you on a journey into evaluating college football prospects in the premier episode of Prospect Profile, where he goes over the breakout season so far of University of Colorado receiver Laviska Shenault, and the under the radar career of ball hawking cornerback Jimmy Moreland out of the FCS school James Madison!
