Reclaim Me is a podcast where survivors of abuse and trauma can tell their stories freely, reclaiming their voice, reclaiming the narrative, and reclaiming control. It is our vision, that all victim survivors have the freedom to tell their story; and through doing so, will provide valuable insight and education, destigmatising assault and breaking down the many barriers experienced by survivors. Matt joins Madi to discuss the sexual abuse he endured as a child at the hands of a Scout leader, the subsequent years of coping, healing and moving through to court system. As well as how we can support Matt v Scouts in his fight for justice now.Despite Matt's abuser pleading guilty to charges of child sexual abuse, Matt is now facing bankruptcy for trying to hold Scouts NSW to account. Matt needs your help to continue his legal battle with Scouts NSW.Matt needs your support so other survivors can seek justice too.A win for Matt would set an important precedent that survivors could rely upon when seeking compensation from the organisations that failed to protect them from child sexual abuse. The costs order would be overturned, and all donated funds will be paid to other charities and organisations which support victims of sexual abuse. This was a truly amazing conversation, one that was so insightful and that will go so many a feeling of comfort to listen to, as so man will hear themselves in this.Support Matt Via the below links:Learn more about Matt's fight via this website link - https://www.mattvscouts.com.au/Donate to support the campaign via this link - https://chuffed.org/project/mattvscoutsConnect with Matt via Instagram https://www.instagram.com/matt1barker/To Connect with Reclaim MeVISIT OUR BRAND NEW WEBSITE HERETo Connect with Madeleine ALL THE LINKS ARE HEREFor advice and support in Australia please reach out to: LifelineFor crisis support please reach out to LifelinePhone: 13 11 14Website: www.lifeline.org.au/ 1800 RESPECTFor sexual assault and domestic abuse support services please reach out to 1800 RESPECTPhone: 1800 RESPECT - 1800 737 732Website: www.1800respect.org.auFor additional help and support / suggested resources for the UK, Canada, USA & New Zealand please see the 'Crisis Links' page on our websiteHERE Sign up for Bonus Content each week on Patreon! Author and survivor of csa Shannon Molloy joins Madeleine to talk about his new book 'You Made Me This Way' and the story's and stars aligning that led to this being created. Part memoir, part self-help, part investigative journalism deep-dive in the taboo topic of male child sexual abuse, You Made Me This Way is driven by Shannon revealing his own experience of having been sexually abused as a young child, and his grappling to understand how this has shaped him. And in doing so, gives voice to a shared trauma of sexually abused men in an attempt to understand the traumatic long-term effects of male child abuse and the way in which society supports (or doesn't support) survivors. The majority of men sexually abused as children never speak about their past and hide their shame and trauma away, forever carrying an enormous burden on their own, often with terrible consequences. I am so thrilled to have had the opportunity to speak with Shannon, and to read this amazing book. The Moving Past Murder podcast is a place for trauma survivors to connect with a fellow survivor. Each week Collier Landry discusses the repercussions of his mother's murder while also looking at similar true crime stories, speaking to trauma survivors and talking about what it takes to move past it.MOVING PAST MURDER: While most hosts of true crime podcasts simply discuss murders that fascinate them, host Collier Landry has actually lived through one. Collier was 11 when his father, Dr. John F. Boyle, Jr. brutally murdered his mother Noreen, and buried her in the basement. The loss of a loved one by murder is more common than you may think. Collier testified against his father in what would be the "trial of the century" in his hometown of Mansfield, Ohio. In 2020, more than 17,000 people were victims of murder in the United States according to statista.com. That means thousands of American's are suffering from grief, trauma, and survivor's guilt. Every Friday, Collier Landry releases an episode covering unanswered questions behind murder, its motives, and moving on. His hope is that 'Moving Past Murder' serves as a kind of therapy and reconciliation for himself and listeners who are processing betrayal and trauma in their own lives.Watch 'A Murder in Mansfield' Here & Make sure to contribute to Collier if you can!Connect with Collier on all of the apps!
