What a legend! I could have spent all day talking to this inquisitive, open, honest, intelligent actor, producer, writer, musician, producer. I don’t really know where to start introducing Joel, calling him a high achiever feels like an understatement. He’s won Logie and AACTA awards. Straight out of NIDA he was cast as “Charles Bean” in Deadline Gallipoli literally as the lead. Then came the Peter Allen mini series, and yep he was Peter Allen; he sang, and learnt to dance for the role. He bought tap dancing shoes and tapped in his garage for 2 hours every day. He’s worked alongside some of the greats: Sam Worthington, Charles Dance, Bryan Brown and was in a movie called Jungle with Daniel Radcliff which was filmed in Columbia where he played Marcus; a Swiss-German teacher. I could spend this whole paragraph listing off his credits: H is for Happiness, Safe Harbor, Mystery Road 2, I met a Girl, Ms. Fisher’s Modern Mysteries, the list goes on… He’s also worked in theatre with the Melbourne Theatre Company. He’s got a great (and funny) podcast called “So what do you reckon” this guy doesn’t stop. He’s back on set filming Ms. Fisher’s Modern Mysteries Series 2!Joel Jackson is a powerhouse, I can’t wait to watch his career unfold even more, and it was a total honor to chat to this all round legend. What an intelligent human. Nazeem is funny, witty, honest, open and he cares. To be honest I was a bit nervous to interview Nazeem, I knew he was smart, like I mean, really smart. He used to be a lawyer, before he was a comedy genius. I’d heard him being interviewed before and was not only smart but witty and fast. Before recording this podcast we’d never met each other at all (that always makes me a little extra nervous). But I had absolutely nothing to be nervous about; he was very sweet. I can see what he’s so popular and Australia loved him on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. He’s one of Australia’s comedic stars. He’s best know for his show Legally Brown, which became an iconic comedic series. Here’s a clip from Legally Brown where he’s playing a Mumbai Prince and he’s speed dating girls that were totally unaware that this was a prank. Every single other person in the scene is an actor, it’s so funny. In this interview he shares a few of his behind the scenes secrets. If you want giggle; check out the skit here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlmaV1nsG-oThis guys highly motivated; he’s a TV personality, actor, comedian, he’s got a couple of podcasts on the go. One’s super new one: Rouge Son (you’ll hear us talk about it) where he visits Sri Lanka at a pivotal time both politically and culturally. Literally while he was in the air flying over a new government was elected. And Nazeem himself is part of a marginalized group (only 8% of people in Sri Lanka are Muslim) which meant he was potentially in danger, under the governments previous rein disappearances of minorities were rife. Guess what?! My friend @natural_harry has a brand new book “HOME” coming out. And we’re going to have a sneak peak before it’s out. You might already know by now that we’re close mates and she’s already been on the pod (check out episode 1 of this season) but I had to get her back because it felt like we only touched the tip of the ice-berg in our chat. Today we dive deep on societies expectations, ageism, having babies and brand integrity. We talk about our love for tiny homes, tree houses, and she teaches me all about Skoolies; basically tiny times in gutted out school buses. I found a cool vid of a Skoolie called Dorothy here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wohC1hsDNrM Harry’s next book Home will be available nation wide on November the 1st 2020. Here’s the pre-order link: http://smarturl.it/HomebyNaturalHarry Harry is also an ambassador for Polished Man https://polishedman.com/ which is a charity that aims to end violence against children, for good. Meet Trav; this guy is an Aussie actor, writer and producer. He’s also humble and super open about his acting process which is rare. I find so many actors hold their cards close to their chest, but not Trav. In this interview you’ll hear how he had to drop 20kg when he was filming Unbroken (directed by Angelina Jolie) and playing a prisoner of war character. Here’s the trailer to Unbroken: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrjJbl7kRrITrav has worked on arguably one of the most successful movie franchises in the world; the iconic Pirates of the Caribbean. He talks about being put in the wrong uniform when he was shooting for Pirates of the Caribbean and having to change outfits right before his scene, and literally running onto the set as they called action. Trav is also in a new movie, the trailer has just been released for Bloody Hell which is out on October 8th and he plays Finish twins. Check out the trailer to Bloody Hell https://youtu.be/GB1kzj5xH7g Last but certainly not least, Trav is an ambassador for Polished Man https://polishedman.com/ which is a charity that aims to end violence against children, for good. Hip Hip Hooray! It’s our birthdays! Two Virgo’s. Lola’s is today the 14th of September and Bossos is the 16th. We decided to release a birthday episode to celebrate. In this episode Matt interviews Lola for the first half and Lola interviews Matt for the second half. It’s a fun and honest chat about life in iso, how we’re feeling about getting older, social pressures and love. We threw some fun ones in there too, hope you enjoy listening to it, we had a blast recording it. Also because we live together we were able to record this ep in real life, something i’ll never take for granted after lockdown lifts.
