Today we continue our series on the Armour of God as Joni Molloy joins me and we have a discussion about having our feet planted in the Gospel of Peace. We first take a look at the symbolism of feet in the scriptures and what they might be trying to communicate to us. We then move to examine some of the places in scripture where peace is illuminated and defined. We then put together what the scripture in Ephesians and the Doctrine & Covenants are trying to tell us. We then move on to talk about what we can do to keep our feet firmly planted in the Gospel and have peace in an increasingly chaotic world.
Today we continue our series on the Armour of God. Today Cory Molloy joins me as we break down the concept of the Breastplate of Righteousness. We start by taking a look at the surface level understanding of the verse. From there we take a deep dive on how to put that part of the armour on and what prevents us from applying that protection in our lives as the conversation grows and becomes expansive in its scope as we talk about temptation and resisting those temptations to not put the Armour of God. In 2021 retired veterinarian and ex-mayoral candidate Leo Molloy was convicted for knowingly publishing a name in breach of a suppression. In a forum on the NZ Premier Racing Community's website called “Main Street Cafe” Molloy made a post identifying Jesse Kempson as Grace Millane's killer before he was publicly named. The Veterinary Council is now seeking censure and a $23,000 fine. "Not one veterinarian ever complained about what I did, and not one member of the public complained for that matter," Molloy told Heather du Plessis-Allan. It is time once more to enter the gates of VAL-halla, our retrospective series on the late Hollywood icon Val Kilmer. Paul, Arlo, and Eric set their sights on what are possibly Kilmer's two best performances. First, in Oliver Stone's psychedelic biopic The Doors, Val embodies the Lizard King himself, Mr. Mojo Rising, Jim Morrison; and then, in George P. Cosmatos'--or is that Kurt Russell's?--glossy Western Tombstone, Kilmer brings new life to Doc Holliday. The gang discusses Val's generational run in the '90s; why The Doors works when most rock biopics don't; and debate the merits of '90s Westerns. Plus, a brief sojourn into the world of Alien: Earth. NEXT: because journalism matters, we're doing an episode all about AMC's Interview with the Vampire. Molloy hive rise up. The truth to the is life is that much of our testimonies that inform our beliefs, opinions and actions are gained through the crucible of adversity. That fact however doesn't always lend itself to gaining perspective. More often than not, it's only after the trial of faith that the reason for that adversity comes into view. Sometimes by talking about trials that others have gone through allows us to "borrow" some perspective on things we are going through. On this episode Cory & Joni Malloy join me as we talk about their faith journey, focusing primarily on some pretty significant trials they have encountered both while they are single and after they got married. We talk about their childhood, how they met, their marriage, the birth and loss of their son, and how Cory almost died because of Covid. Then we move on to talk about how despite all these trials and adversity how they have managed to hold on to and strengthen their faith. We then wrap up by talking about where they are in life today and some pretty exciting projects they are working on. https://mormonlegacy.org/https://1830mercantile.org/

When Stanford students Elsa Johnson and Garret Molloy began investigating Chinese intelligence operations on their campus for the Stanford Review, they uncovered something far more extensive than expected: a systematic intelligence network that has transformed thousands of Chinese students into assets for Beijing's technology collection efforts. Their investigation revealed that between 20,000 and 50,000 Chinese students studying in America receive funding from Beijing's China Scholarship Council, with many maintaining contact with "handlers" who expect regular intelligence reports. This discovery exposes a fundamental asymmetry in how China and America approach academic exchange. Beijing leverages our relatively open research environment through "nontraditional collection"—crowdsourced intelligence gathering through students and researchers—while maintaining strict control over their own institutions. China wants access to our openness while preserving their own secrecy. But America's response threatens to undermine the very qualities that make our universities innovative. The trade-off seems impossible: remain vulnerable to systematic exploitation or adopt surveillance methods that mirror authoritarian systems. Can universities maintain their innovative edge while protecting sensitive research? Johnson and Molloy's investigation reveals how these questions will shape the future of American higher education in an age of great power competition.Note: The Stanford Review was erroneously referred to as the "Stanford Economic Review" once in this episode.

China's Ministry of State Security has infiltrated and is conducting espionage at all levels of Stanford University. By law, all Chinese nationals are required to report back to the Chinese Communist Party on their research and daily activities when asked. Sometimes this spying is voluntary and conducted by those who wish to see America fall behind in the global tech race.
