I’m Anne Bachrach and for over 24 years I’ve been best known as The Accountability Coach™. Did you know that the #1 reason people don’t get what they want is lack of accountability? If you want to make more money and work less, accountability is for you. Are you sick and tired of your business just making you sick and tired? You know the drill. You invest a lot of time in building and growing your business. You make many personal sacrifices. You hope that the trade-off is more clients, more revenue, more progress toward your goals, and more prosperity so you can enjoy the business and life you truly want. Good intentions don’t magically lead to good results. They are a start; however, they are unfortunately not enough. This is just the truth! Poor follow through takes a toll on virtually every aspect of our lives. It not only threatens our health, it also prevents us from achieving personal, financial, and career goals that are well within our reach. When you are held accountable to the activity required to achieve your goals, you will make more money, be able to work less, and enjoy even better work life balance. If this sounds at all like something you want, you are in the right place to accelerate your results! Subscribe to the business success tips and resources Blog and receive valuable information to help you accelerate your results, so you can enjoy your ideal business and ideal life by going to https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/blog/.

Mindset Adjustment #1 to Help You Better Cope with Change

“Going with the flow” is a mantra some people chant, but for many going with the flow is not easy to do and, in fact, causes them undue stress. Get rid of the “go with the flow” mindset and try these three mindset adjustments, that I'm going to share with you, to help you better cope with change, as change is constant.   Mindset adjustment number one is that Change is a process.  When you deal with change, it's not as easy as flipping a switch and moving from one way of doing something to a completely different way. You need to look at change as a process and you want to take steps to adjust. When you learn to bake a cake, for example, you don't just open the oven and put in the cake to bake. You need to gather ingredients, measure them, mix them, prepare the pan, preheat the oven, then bake the cake. Baking is a process; change is a process. Tune in tomorrow for 2 more Mindset Adjustments to help you better cope with change and increase your success. Subscribe to my high-value proven business success tips and resources Blog (https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/blog/)  Take advantage of all the complimentary business tips and tools by joining the Free Silver Membership on https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/coaching-store/inner-circle-store/.  Want more from The Accountability Coach™, subscribe to more high-value content by looking for me on https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/my-podcast/ and on most podcast platforms and in most English-speaking countries, or by going to https://itunes.apple.com/podcast/accountabilitycoach.com/id290547573.  Go to https://www.accountabilitycoach.com to check out for yourself how I, as your Accountability Coach™, can help you get and stay focused on you highest payoff activities that put you in the highest probability position to achieve your professional and personal goals, so you can enjoy the kind of business and life you truly want and deserve.  I'm the author of many books, including, Excuses Don't Count; Results Rule, Live Life with No Regrets, No Excuses, The Guide to Stopping Procrastination, and the Work Life Balance Emergency Kit, The Roadmap To Success with Stephen Covey and Ken Blanchard, and more.   Check out my proven business accelerator resources by going to https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/coaching-store/.  Aim for what you want each and every day!  Anne BachrachThe Accountability Coach™

“Why do I have to deal with change?” The answer is, because change is inevitable. Whether it's a new client, a new boss, a new piece of software, a discontinuation of your favorite coffee flavor… change is a part of life. Coping with, and adapting to, those changes are crucial for happiness and success in work and in life.  Whether you are someone who embraces change or dreads it, the way in which you accept it will increase or decrease your stress levels. Change can trigger powerful emotions. For some, change makes them feel as though they are out of control, that they are being dragged toward a very steep rock face or cliff, toward which they have no control.  Tune in tomorrow where I will share three mindset adjustments to help you cope with change and maybe even learn to embrace it for even greater success.

Use My Time Log Exercise to Help Improve Your Time Management

In a survey of business professionals, when asked they consistently feel they waste approximately 2 hours a day, which translates to 10 hours a week, etc.  Let's not focus on how much time is actually wasted as the focus needs to be on what you can do with the wasted time to generate even more money, work less, or do other things you really want to do.   Use a time log to help you know where you are actually spending your time during the day. Periodically use this time log for a 2-week period of time to help you continue to be time efficient. This tool can be utilized by everyone on your team at the same time.  Think about it for a minute. When you track what you eat, you watch more of what you put in your mouth as it has to go on a food log that someone else will be reviewing and helping you be better at nutrition. The same works when you apply it to your valuable time. You think twice about doing activities that aren't moving you forward because you have to write them down. To download my complimentary Time Log Exercise to help you and your team members be even more time efficient, so you are in a higher probability position to achieve your goals, go to: https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/time-log/.  Simple instructions come with the sample document to help you know how to complete the time log. How much time do you think you waste each day?  Remember it all adds up.  Five minutes here, 10 minutes, there 30 minutes on something (maybe) fun yet not productive, and helping you make progress on the achievement of your goals.

The minute you decide and take action on your dreams is the minute you change your life. You can either go with the flow that life directs you in or direct the flow and determine your destination. In just seconds, you can make a decision to alter the course of your destiny. Some people say it takes 21 days to change a habit. I believe it takes you a second. Have you ever decided that you were going to do something differently and you just started doing it that way from then on? You changed a habit in a second.   What got you to where you are today probably isn't going to be what takes you to where you ultimately want to go. Those thoughts, actions, and activities have to change to move you even closer to your future goals. Step #4 to Conquer Fears and Achieve More of Your Goals

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 17, 2023 2:25 Transcription Available

Today we are talking about Step #4 of the 4 steps to Your Conquer Fears, which is: Just do it! The only true and tried way to rid yourself of fear is to just do it!  Have you ever heard of the phrase, “Feel the fear and do it anyway?” Don't let fear control your life - you are the one in control.  Choose to live life the way it is meant to be experienced.  While there may be some risks involved with trying something new, the value of what you have to gain far outweighs any fear you will feel. Don't wait to start conquering your fear - start today.  Make a list of things you are afraid to do and set a time frame when you want to have them all accomplished.  Maybe it's calling someone you would really like to do business with, but have too intimidated to ask.  Or perhaps you are afraid of heights, but have always wanted to skydive.  Whatever it is you would like to accomplish, but have been afraid of, write them down on your list.    Next to each item write the positive results that will come from doing what you are afraid of doing.   For the client you've been too afraid to call, you generate a lot of revenue (How much revenue specifically and for how long? Not to mention referrals that can result of this new client.).  For skydiving it will be conquering your fear of heights and increasing your confidence.  Once you have all of your fears written down, prioritize them based on how they will positively impact your life.  Place the item with the biggest impact at the top of the list and work your way down.  Start at the top of the list and work your way down until you have them all accomplished. Anytime you feel the fear and are considering passing up a great opportunity to spread your wings, take yourself back to your childhood.  Remember that you learned how to walk with nothing more than instinct and how to ride a bike with practice.  Trying something new allows you to build your confidence and wonder what you were so afraid of to start with. Check out my proven business accelerator resources by going to https:/

Today we are talking about Step #3 to Conquer Fears, which is: Visualize positive outcomes. When facing any new situation always come into it with a positive attitude.  Following the law of attraction, you will attract the same energy you bring to the situation.  Set the intention for a positive experience and visualize a positive outcome.  Feel good about your new experience before you even attempt it.  A little bit of anxiety is normal, but don't let it control the situation.  You want to go into all new situations with confidence and assurances that everything will turn out the way you want to experience it. Dale Carnegie said: "If you want to conquer fear, don't sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy." Visualization is a way of tapping into the amazing power of your mind, so that you can train your brain to help you create the kind of life you want. Download my complimentary thought-provoking Power of Visualization, Creating and Enjoying Your Ideal Business and Ideal Life Guidebook, by going to https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/visualization.  Tune in tomorrow for Step 4 to help you conquer your fears.

Today we are talking about Step #1 to Conquer Fears, which is: Analyze the rational possible outcomes. When faced with something new, think rationally about the possible outcomes.  Most of the anxiety we feel is based on our mind's inability to calculate an outcome and it exaggerates the possibilities.  This exaggeration is what causes fear and anxiety.  If there is real danger, then obviously it requires consideration.  As an example:  Robbing a bank, stealing a car, and killing someone could potentially present life-threatening circumstances, but attending a networking event does not.  If you are not faced with life-threatening dangers or negative consequences - just do it! The more new experiences you engage in, the less fear you will experience in the future.  As your “database” of past experiences grows, your mind will have more information to refer to when faced with new situations.  The more past experiences you have, the less fear you will experience because the mind will know exactly what to do to create a successful outcome. Tune in tomorrow for Step 2 to help you conquer your fears.

We've all been afraid to try something new at one time or another.  Why is that?  And it seems as we age, our fear controls more and more of our willingness to try something new.  We prefer to forego a new experience because we want to avoid whatever bad thing we think could happen.  Or maybe the anxiety is just too stressful for us to even contemplate facing our fears.  Whatever the reason, we justify that trying something new is not worth the risk. Most of us learn to live within our comfort zone by default because we base our daily decisions on whether or not they cause feelings of anxiety.  Every action we decide to take is based on whether it lands inside or outside our comfort zone.   You are the one who determines the outcome of your experiences.  If you know your experience will be completely positive - there is nothing stopping you from doing it.  Over the next 4 days we will explore 4 practical steps you can take to conquer fear and start living life on your terms. So, tune in tomorrow for Step 1.

The choices you make every minute of every day influence the life you live and the person you are. So, you want to Make them wisely. A choice might be… “Hmmmm, will I have that bowl of almond mocha ice cream, or not?” Almond mocha ice cream is my all-time favorite, so the choice is harrowing.  I can choose to eat the bowl of ice cream, knowing I'll have to spend an extra 30 minutes or more on the treadmill tomorrow, or I can choose to forego the ice cream and feel sorry for myself for at least the next hour or so. Heck! I choose to eat the ice cream anyway, knowing that I may as well have rubbed the entire bowl straight on my belly, but also accepting the fact that the price I will pay for 2 minutes of glorious ice cream today is 30 minutes or more of hard push on the treadmill tomorrow. Nevertheless, I made the choice and I take full responsibility for making a choice that may not have necessarily been the right one. That's what making choices is all about – taking full responsibility for our actions. The more choices you make, and the more you realize the world won't fall apart either way, the more control you gain over your life.

It is a process in which you develop a crystal-clear vision of where you want to be.  Your subconscious mind is a goal-achieving machine. It is exactly that - a machine. It reacts to the information fed to it - no emotion, no judgment. This works to your advantage or disadvantage. The subconscious mind doesn't know how to judge the information it receives, it only reacts to it. Whatever you feed your mind will become your reality. This is why practicing The Power of Focus every day is so important. Visualization is powerful and will support your efforts.  Spend a few moments every day, in the morning and evening, visualizing your desired outcome.  Imagine it as if you were already there.  Feel how good you feel, and completely immerse yourself in the smell and sounds of the environment.  When you are able to focus on the end result instead of momentary temptation, you will make the right choices that support your desired outcome. If you've tried and failed in past commitments, it doesn't matter.  The past is the past, and you are a different person today.  Starting right now, you are now armed with the strength and the tools you need to successfully commit to creating your desired future outcome. Ken Blanchard, Author of over 30 books, including the best-seller, The One Minute Manager, said:  There is a difference between interest and commitment.  When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient.  When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results. Visualization is a way of tapping into the amazing power of your mind, so that you can train your brain to help you create the kind of life you want. To download my complimentary thought-provoking Power of Visualization, Creating and Enjoying Your Ideal Business and Ideal Life Guidebook, go to https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/visualization.

Today we are talking about Tip 3 of the 3 tips on how to help you resolve any issue around lack of motivation, which is: When You Can't Get Out of a Slump. People who are giddy 24/7 are a rare breed, and for most of us, we have days when we don't feel like doing what we're supposed to do, no matter how much we try to convince ourselves to tackle it.  We try to get into the groove, but can't seem to rally the motivation.  The more you try, the more frustrated you become, and that depletes any last spark of motivation you had.   There will always be things that need to be done - even if you don't feel like doing them.  When you can approach getting things done with the right perspective and motivation, they will be much easier to handle, and you'll get them done much faster. As Peter Vidmar says, “To be an Olympic Champion you only need to work out two times.  When you feel like it, and when you don't feel like it.” Action Step #3:If your day is stuck in a slump, the best thing to do for you and your business is to step away from it.  Do what makes you happy so you can come back to getting things done with a clear focus and content heart.  Go do something that feeds your soul and refuels your motivation.  It can be anything you enjoy.  Refueling your motivation is essential to your health and happiness, so when you're feeling empty, stop everything and do something for you.   In addition, stay focused on the results!  How does your choice to complete or procrastinate help or hurt your ability to achieve your goals?  Asking this question will help bring clarity and reconnect you with your desire for achieving your goals, motivating you out of your slump.

Today we are talking about Tip 2 on how to help you resolve any issue around lack of motivation, which is:   Steer Clear of “Drag-Me-Downs”. As an entrepreneur, you're different than the “average Joe” so to speak, who enjoys living in mediocrity.  It's important to keep this in mind when you are exposed to people or places that drag you down or hold you back.  They may be friends, family, peers, or places that are meaningful for you, but they drag you down, make you go back to thinking “small” or question your “deservedness” of your goals. Action Step #2:Limit your exposure to people or places that drag you down.  Doing this doesn't make them less important and it certainly doesn't mean that they are not special to you, but as an entrepreneur, it's important that you stay motivated and positive because your success is riding on your ability to continually propel yourself forward. Tune in tomorrow for Tip 3 on how to help you resolve any issue around lack of motivation.

If you're sitting at your desk with a “To Do List” a mile long, but you can't find the motivation to tackle it, listen up.   How is it that some days it feels as if you have enough motivation to conquer the world, yet other days, the smallest task seems to drain the life out of you?  The answer is simple: motivation is fueled by your level of desire and commitment, and when your desire and commitment falls, so does your motivation. Have you ever been so engrossed in something you loved every second you were doing it and lost track of all time?  Your desire and commitment was so high, that time became non-existent, when in reality, several hours had passed. Think back to the days when you were in school.  I'm sure there were subjects that you thoroughly enjoyed, and others you disliked.  Which subjects were easier for you to complete?  By far, the subjects that you enjoyed were easier because you were committed and had a desire to learn that subject.  When you're committed, you're motivated. The good news is that your lack of motivation can be resolved with only a shift in thinking.  Consider the three tips that I will discuss over the next 3 days. Tune in tomorrow for Tip 1 on how to help you resolve any issue around lack of motivation. Aim for what you want each and every day!  Anne BachrachThe Accountability Coach™

And who better to teach employees than yourself? Being a successful business owner, you are in the perfect position to become a model for accountability your employees can see and emulate. The best way to do this is to resist the temptation to blame your employees for all your business' failures. An accountability culture is built on some fundamental principles. You have to follow them to introduce the culture into your organization. Over the next 5 days we will explore 5 strategies you can use to create a successful accountability culture in your firm. Let's start with Strategy #1, which is to Define Expectations. You need to allow your employees the freedom to work the way they need to in order to produce their best results. Imposing a certain style of working on an employee could hinder the quality and quantity of their work. What you need to do instead is to define the expectations you have of the employee. Make sure you clearly inform the employees about the way you expect them to conduct themselves and the rules they have to follow. Also, you need to provide them with a realistic picture of what happens should they fail in their job. From there on, you can let the employees take full responsibility for the work they have been assigned, with the accountability measures fully in place. Tune in tomorrow for Tip #2 on helping you build an Accountability Culture in your firm. To download my complimentary support team performance assessment, so you can customize it for each of your team members, go to https://bit.ly/SupportTeamAssessment/. Accountability is one of the basic disciplines of doing business and increasing success. Yet, organizations often find it next to impossible to create a successful accountability culture. Companies that do manage to have high levels of accountability also achieve greater success. The ones that aren't able to do so usually don't experience the growth or success they desire and wonder why. As a business owner, the benefits of creating a culture of accountability are quite evident, but sometimes you might find accountability to be elusive. Why Creating an Accountability Culture is Not EasyThe main reason why organizations fail to create a successful accountability culture is that the leaders and managers don't fully involve themselves in the process. The process of accountability has to start from the top and go all the way down. Otherwise, the employees don't see the point of being held accountable for their positions if the top brass of the company is exempt from it (which shouldn't have to be the case but is). Business owners need to set the standard by holding themselves accountable. Become a good role model for your employees to follow. Tune in tomorrow to discover some of the Benefits of Creating an Accountability Culture. As an experienced accountability coach and author of many books, I help business professionals make more money, work less, and enjoy even better work life balance. Check out my proven business accelerator resources by going to https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/coaching-store/.  Aim for what you want each and every day!  Anne BachrachThe Accountability Coach™

Today we are talking about Tip #3 on making successful commitments that produce results which is: Success Relies on 100% Commitment. It's easy to make excuses and exceptions, but it's so much harder to get back on track once you've made room for them.  Successful goal achievement requires 100% commitment.  Not 99%, not even 99.9%.  Making exceptions sets you up for failure and makes it harder to stay on track.  Decide what you can commit to and stick to it - no excuses, no exceptions.  You'll find that 100% commitment is actually easier than 99.9%, because you remove distractions, and the emotion around them.  When you focus solely on your goal, not your distractions, it will be easier to stay on track.Tune in tomorrow for Tip #4 on making successful commitments that produce results.

Most of us cringe when we hear the word “commitment” because we associate it with feelings of sacrifice.  Our commitments fail because we get caught up in the struggle of trying to change where life seems to be taking us and where we want to go.  Our every day habits consume our thoughts - leaving no room for thoughts of why we started the process in the first place.  The diet becomes a struggle between exercise and chocolate cake; the budget becomes a struggle between spending and saving, so on and so on.The struggle ends up consuming us and we give up trying to change because it's just too hard.  What we thought would be efforts to lead us to a new life, end up being just a temporary change.  We've tried before and failed again, and the conclusion comes down to a discouraged excuse - I just couldn't do it, I didn't have time, or it was too hard.  The truth is making a successful commitment is nothing more than a making a choice to create a desired future outcome.  Over the next 5 days we are going to explore the 5 tips on making successful commitments that produce results, so tune in tomorrow for Tip #1.

How do you deal with lack of motivation for tasks that you dislike, yet must be done by you? There are only two ways to get motivated: push or pull.  Push is when you're motivated into action by fear; pull is when you are motivated into action by desire.  Ideally, you should always be motivated by positive reinforcement; that's when your desire pulls you forward.  Although being motivated by push works some of the time, it is obviously driven by fear, which is a negative reinforcement - and the least desirable.Think of something that you recently procrastinated on and put off.  Did you finally take action from fearing the outcome if you didn't take action or the excitement of desiring the outcome if you did take action?  Which feeling - fear or desire - do you take action from most often? If you are motivated by desire most of the time - you're on the right track.  However, if you answered fear, you probably frequently procrastinate on getting things done.  This not only hurts your personal growth, it also can be devastating to your success.  It could be due to the fear of the outcome, uncertainty or a lack of self-confidence. Work on your WHY to help you be motivated by your desire. If you are tired of feeling overwhelmed by tasks that never seem to get done, or if you are frustrated by your inability to make progress on important projects, it's time to take action. Strategy #6 for Dealing with Difficult Situations

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 22, 2023 2:45 Transcription Available

Today we are talking about Strategy #6 of the 6 strategies to help you deal with difficult situations which is to Be Realistic. Be realistic in what you can accomplish in any given amount of time.  Although you'd like to think of yourself as Wonder Woman or Superman, there is a limit to what you can accomplish at any one time.  Pushing yourself to do more than is physically possible will only create needless difficult situations and add to your stress.  Set up realistic goals for accomplishing tasks, without forcing yourself into a whirlwind.  Prioritize, create a schedule and stick to it.  Using a timer can also help; open your phone and put it on your desk and use the timer every day for a period of time.  Don't' let your phone distract you with other noises other than the timer, however. If you're swamped at the end of the day, reprioritize the tasks for tomorrow before going to bed, so you can rest peacefully. You can overcome difficult strategies with ease just by making a few changes to the way you handle tasks.  Once you identify strategies for dealing with difficult situations and implement them, you'll be prepared to handle just about any tough situation that's thrown your way.  It's about focusing on the end result, breaking each task down into manageable steps, and altering the way you work to reach maximum productivity.Remember, when you're feeling overwhelmed, that is a sign to stop and evaluate the situation.  Tough situations are best dealt with calm and objectiveness.  If you are too emotionally involved, upset or angry, it may be best to let it go for the time being.  Take time to think and reflect upon your desired outcome and form your conversation around that goal.  If you are ready to address it in 15 minutes, great.  If you need 24 hours, that's okay too.  The important thing to remember is to follow these six strategies we have been exploring over the past 6 days, to help you achieve your end result - however, long it takes. You got this!Consider using a time log to occasionally monitor what you do with your valuable time every day for a week or two. You might be amazed at how you actually spend your time versus how you think you spend your time. Most people fear nobody wants to hear the truth, but of course they do! And the ones who want to hear the truth will be your best and most lucrative clients. It's Okay to Have a Thought You Do

My husband, Bill Bachrach, has an expression, “It's okay to have a thought you don't express.”  This can be very useful at times.  I also believe it is okay to have thoughts you do express.  Many times, we are thinking about something and we don't say what is on our mind, and we should so we and everyone involved knows the truth about the situation. We might be afraid to say what we are thinking for some unknown reason.  You are just guessing about what is really going on in someone else's mind without really knowing the truth.  When someone is telling me that a certain situation occurred with a client and they don't know why or understand, I ask them if they asked the person or people involved about it instead of just thinking about asking them.  Most times we role play how that would work and they then go back and talk to the person. It is really about the client or prospect and you wanting to do what's best for them – so why not ask and tell the truth about how you are feeling so everyone is on the same page? So, the point is - stop being afraid of what might happen because what you think might happen might not actually happen. And how bad could it really be? What are you really afraid of? Chances are you will realize that would you're imagining is not only improbable, and not all that bad anyway. Tell the truth and let things go the way they will go. The truth isn't always easy, but the truth is almost always better for everyone involved. As an experienced accountability coach and author of man books, I help business professionals make more money, work less, and enjoy even better work life balance.Aim for what you want each and every day!  Anne BachrachThe Accountability Coach™

The fact is that with poor concentration and thinking abilities, you lose the ability to perceive, judge, and decide well. A study that was done included 17 hours of wakefulness which amounts to a long day at work. The result of the study showed behavioral changes in the individuals, which were equivalent to drinking two glasses of alcohol. If your sustained wakefulness continues beyond 17 hours, you may behave as if you have consumed four glasses of alcohol. Can you guess the consequences that will follow? It is not a hidden fact that having a very good attention to detail is a prerequisite for business owners and support staff. Hence, it does not take much to guess that the effects of sleep-deprived entrepreneurs can be nothing short of disastrous.  In fact, there are numerous examples of disastrous consequences erupting due to sleep-deprived workforces in history. Some of these include the Challenger space shuttle disaster, the oil spill at Exxon Valdez, and the nuclear explosion at Chernobyl.  Tune in tomorrow for a 4th way your lack of quality sleep can be affecting your performance. Download my Power of Visualization Guidebook today and start transforming your mindset and your business.
