Will Kunkel talks with Jesi Strachman who was in a motorcycle accident where she was thrown from the bike as a passenger. She woke up a week later in an intensive care unit without the use of her legs. She was paralyzed. Amazingly, she calls this day one of the best days of her life. It changed everything. The night before the wreck she heard a voice tell her everything was going to be okay. It was Jesus talking to her about her new life. Shockingly, she was not a believer of God before the wreck. She is today and is using her injury to help and inspire others in wheelchairs.

Acts 8:5-8 ESV 5 Philip went down to the city[a] of Samaria and proclaimed to them the Christ. 6 And the crowds with one accord paid attention to what was being said by Philip, when they heard him and saw the signs that he did. 7 For unclean spirits, crying out with a loud voice, came out of many who had them, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. 8 So there was much joy in that city. JOY IN THE CITY Philip, one of the seven deacons, went to Samaria, where he proclaimed Christ to the people. This couldn't had happened if not for the persecution, could it be? Amazingly, the crowds with one accord paid attention to what he was preaching. Why? They heard him and saw the signs he did. Many unclean spirits were cast out and paralyzed and lame were healed. Were they healed because of their faith or Philip's? Most of the people may be were doubtful. But, Philip definitely had believed the God who can do miracles and the message of the gospel he was preaching. In reflection, the persecution was a blessing in disguise. There was sadness at Jerusalem when they were scattered while there was joy in Samaria because they heard and received the gospel. The ‘good news' won't be that good if not for its miraculous effect in people's lives. Let's do continue to glory in the gospel today. Let's be ‘not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”[Rom 1:16] Like the new believers and Philip, perhaps we're displaced by many unavoidable circumstances like economic hardships and political unrest. We migrate to find work. Thus the diaspora of pinoys. Notedly, Pinoys, percentage wise, are the highest in ‘diaspora' in the whole world, that is, 11% of our population. A staggering 11M of us are scattered all over the globe today. It is my prayer that wherever we go, we become a truly OFW, an ‘Overseas Foreign Witness' for Christ. Whether at the remote deserts of Saudi Arabia or urban cities like Singapore or Hongkong, let's proclaim Christ by our lips, lives and deeds. This is our primary calling, is it not? To earn money should be far second. We may not be able to perform miracles like Philip did but our transformed lives would be more than enough to bear witness that Jesus is real. May we always seek to be a blessing. As Jeremiah challenged the Jewish exiles at Babylon in the past, saying, “But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.” [Jer 29:7] -------------------- Visit and FOLLOW Gospel Light Filipino on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram

Amazingly, and uncommonly, Jennifer reported her abuse to her parents. Jennifer's sister believed her abuser and denied the claims. Jennifer's father blamed Jennifer for making him choose between two daughters. He would not believe her for almost five years. Bart Byl on Genesis 22:1-19. The story of the binding of Isaac is one of the most evocative stories in the Bible. Abraham and Sarah had received Isaac in their old age. He was the child of promise: the one through whom the whole world would be blessed. And now God had commanded Abraham to take his son, his only son, the son he loved, and sacrifice him on the mountain God would show him. Amazingly, Abraham set out in faith to obliterate his own future, confident that somehow God would provide. --- Tbilisi International Christian Fellowship is a Christ-centred family of believers in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The Bible (Part 3) - DEMAND FOR IT vs DEVOTION TO IT

The Bible Has Always Been In Demand.  Regardless of lingering opposition, disregard for scripture, and the lack of commitment to study from even amongst those who profess to be believers, there has always been and is a never-ending demand for the Bible.  Because we measure success and status by numbers, dollars, and cents, let's review the numbers generated by The Holy Bible. The annual sales figures for the Bible average between $425 million and $650 million, repeatedly, year after year, it consistently dwarfs the sales of all other books. Because the Bible has always consistently been the bestselling book, it is no longer listed on the bestsellers list, as the “bestsellers” list is only interesting if the top spot is up for grabs, so the "real bestseller” has been indefinitely omitted from running.   The Guinness Book of Records reports as of 2021 between 5 and 7 billion Bibles have been printed since 1815. According to Words Rated, an average of 20 million Bibles are sold each year with 1.66 million bibles sold each month. 384,615 bibles sold per week. 54,945 bibles are sold each and every day.Barna's research indicates that 92% of American households have at least one Bible and on average each has three. And the very popular YouVersion Bible app has reported over 500 million bibles have been downloaded just on their app since 2016               The Bible continues to embark on annual increasing sales and distribution totals, without any coercion. No government has ever required anyone to buy, own, read or believe in the Bible. Unbelievers are free to disagree with the Bible publicly. They can swear at GOD, find fault with the Bible, disagree with those who believe it and debate the issues all without any legal ramifications.  The Bible's influence has always been implemented voluntarily.  The same can't be said for Mao's book or the Qur'an.  Mao's book is a book of quotations and statements from the speeches and writings of Mao Zedong, the former Chairman of the Communist Party of China. When this book came into print every home in China was legally required to have a copy and this regulation was enforced for many years. The penalty for not owning the book was severe and the Chinese population, being so large, accounts for several hundred million copies.  The penalty for not owning a copy of Mao's book was still not as severe as the penalty for owning a Bible. One book was banned, the other lawfully required, however, despite the ban, Bible distribution is now catching up with Mao's books in China. Like Mao's book, the Qur'an's popularity is also the result of enforcement policies. It is used profoundly in the educational systems of Muslim countries. Based on its teachings, many cultures are shaped. In Muslim-dominated areas, the Qur'an also influences many areas of public life: what people wear, what they eat, and how they interact socially and politically.  Some countries host contests to see who can quote the Qur'an verbatim.  Christians in some Muslim countries are persecuted, beaten, and imprisoned regularly and conversion to Christianity is treated worse than murder. Amazingly enough, Mao's book of quotes and the Qur'an enjoy high print volumes due to political and cultural enforcements, and the Bible, which consistently, year after year, outsells any other book worldwide has never used force as a means of promotion.

Additionally, Andrew needed to clarify the issues Rivian has with the proposed UK data law changes, from last week's item. If the new laws come into force, then the UK loses the current data ‘adequacy' with the EU, meaning the businesses need to deal differently with UK and EU data. There is the timing of it, which when one looks at the current global financial projections, seems 'unwise. Michael was diving for lobster when a humpback whale caught him in its mouth. He pushed back in the darkness as the whale’s muscles squeezed against him. He thought he was done. But whales don’t prefer lobstermen, and thirty seconds later the whale spit Michael into the air. Amazingly, Michael had no broken bones—only extensive bruises and one whale of a story. He wasn’t the first. Jonah was swallowed by “a huge fish” (Jonah 1:17), and he stayed in its belly three days before being vomited onto land (2:1, 10). Unlike Michael, who was caught by accident, Jonah was swallowed because he hated Israel’s enemies and didn’t want them to repent. When God told Jonah to preach in Nineveh, he caught a boat going the other way. So God sent a whale-sized fish to get his attention. I appreciate why Jonah hated the Assyrians. They’d harassed Israel in the past, and within fifty years they would carry the northern tribes into captivity where they would vanish forever. Jonah was understandably offended that Assyria might be forgiven. But Jonah was more loyal to the people of God than to the God of all people. God loved Israel’s enemies and wanted to save them. He loves our enemies and wants to save them. With the wind of the Spirit at our backs, let’s sail toward them with the good news of Jesus.

Synopsis During her lifetime, pianist Nadia Reisenberg was regarded as one of this country's finest concert artists. She performed at Carnegie Hall 22 times, often with the New York Philharmonic. But she made history on today's date in 1939 as she embarked on a series of concert performances encompassing of all 27 of the Mozart Piano Concertos. These were live radio broadcasts conducted by Alfred Wallenstein, originating at WOR in New York, relayed coast-to-coast via the Mutual Network and the CBC in Canada, and overseas via short wave. There were 29 broadcasts in all, one a week, starting on September 12, 1939 and ending on March 26, 1940. Mozart's 27 piano concerts were first published in 1850, almost 60 years after the composer's death, but before Reisenberg's broadcasts, no one had performed ALL of them in such a series. The French composer and pianist Camille Saint-Saens played 9 Mozart concertos in Paris in 1864/1865, and 11 during a series in London in 1910, but Reisenberg was the first to perform all 27 in one concert sequence, since even Mozart himself never played them all in just one season. Amazingly, live aircheck recordings of most of these historic radio broadcasts have survived and are now part of the Nadia Reisenberg Collection in the International Piano Archives at Maryland. Music Played in Today's Program Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) –Piano Concerto No. 26 in D, K. 537 (Coronation) (Nadia Reisenberg; WOR studio orchestra; Alfred Wallenstein, cond.) (r. It's Friday, September 9th,  A.D. 2022. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. By Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com) Ugandan Muslims threw 5 Christian evangelists overboard On August 10th, Muslim extremists killed five Christian workers by throwing them off a boat into central Uganda's Lake Kyoga, reports Morning Star News. A Christian survivor of the attack said the evangelists from End Time Word Ministry church were traveling from Nakasongola District to Apac District on a commercial transport boat with plans to plant a church. The survivor, Amos Kyakulaga, a church deacon who was acting as a guide, said the five evangelists began proclaiming Christ to a group of 10 Muslims in Islamic attire aboard the boat. He said, “On our way, Tonny Ankunda started preaching to the people on the boat, which resulted in a huge argument between Muslims and the missionaries concerning the Sonship of our Lord Jesus Christ.” He said one of the Muslims, identified only as Bashir, began threatening the Christians, saying, “If you continue insisting that Jesus is the Son of God, then Allah will kill all of you.” Citing Scripture, the evangelists continued affirming the sonship of Christ.  Bashir, the Muslim, told them, “We are giving you one last minute to stop your blasphemy and to convert by confessing the shahada (Islamic creed), or else your lives are at risk.” When the five evangelists refused to renounce Christ, the Muslims seized them and pushed them off the boat one by one, Kyakulaga said.  Because they were 650 feet from shore, all five Christians drowned. Despite the fact that Muslims make up only 12 percent of Uganda's population, they live in high concentrations in the east. Queen Elizabeth II died--having shared Christ's light Queen Elizabeth II died peacefully yesterday at the age of 96, marking an end to her 70-year and 214-day reign, reports The Sun. Her son, Charles, who will now be known as King Charles III, gave a somber statement as he led the nation in mourning last night. The new King said, “The death of my beloved mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family.” She has been called the last reigning Christian monarch. In fact, Evangelist Franklin Graham said, “I'm especially grateful for the Queen's friendship with my father Billy Graham. He cherished their friendship that was built on a shared love for Jesus Christ and belief in God's Word." Throughout her 70-year reign, she often mentioned Christianity. In her 1957 Christmas address, Queen Elizabeth quoted the famous Christian allegory, The Pilgrim's Progress, by John Bunyun. QUEEN: “I believe that together, we can set an example to the world, which will encourage upright people everywhere. I would like to read you a few lines from Pilgrim's Progress, because I'm sure we can say, with Mr. Valiant-for-Truth, these words: ‘My marks and scars I carry with me to be a witness for me, but I have fought His battles, who now will be my Rewarder.” In the year 2000, she spoke of a personal accountability before God. QUEEN: “For me, the teachings of Christ and my own personal accountability before God, provide a framework in which I try to lead my life. I, like so many of you, have drawn great comfort in difficult times, from Christ's words and example. ‘Hold fast to that which is good. Render to near man evil for evil, strengthen the faint hearted, support the weak, healthy afflicted on all men.” In 2014, the Queen said that the life of Jesus was an inspiration and an anchor in her life. QUEEN: “Jesus Christ lived obscurely for most of His life, and never traveled far. He was maligned and rejected by many, though He had done no wrong. And yet, billions of people now follow His teaching and find in Him the guiding light for their lives. I am one of them because Christ's example helps me see the value of doing small things with great love.” In April of 2020, Queen Elizabeth affirmed the need to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, especially in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. QUEEN: “Indeed, we need Easter as much as ever. The discovery of the risen Christ on the first Easter Day gave His followers new hope and fresh purpose, and we can all take heart from this.” Last night, she received her heavenly crown, a crown worth infinitely more than her earthly one. The Bible speaks of five crowns. In 2 Timothy 4:8, Paul says, “Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.” 4 dead & 3 wounded in Memphis, Tennessee Mourning and anger enveloped Memphis, Tennessee yesterday as authorities sought the motive for a gunman's daylong, livestreamed shooting spree that left four people dead and three wounded, reports USA Today. Ezekiel Dejuan Kelly, age 19, was captured Wednesday evening having driven around for hours shooting people, and finally participating in a carjacking. Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland expressed outrage that Kelly had been charged with criminal attempted first-degree murder two years ago, but pleaded guilty in April 2021 to the lesser charge of aggravated assault. He was sentenced to three years in prison, but served just over two years. STRICKLAND: “If this man had served his full sentence, he would be in prison this morning, and these four lives would still be with us.” Zambia, Africa celebrates New Testament translation And finally, Christians in Zambia, Africa, are celebrating the latest milestone in Bible translation: the creation of the New Testament in their native tongues. According to CBN News, the effort is led by Wycliffe Associates, an organization that offers Bible translations in countless languages. Currently, over 5,000 people are working in Zambia to translate the Bible into 20 native languages. Bishop Henry Mumba, a pastor and church planter, is assisting church-owned translation work in Munsa. He recalled how he heard his first Bible verse when he was 19 years old. MUMBA: "My pastor was a missionary from another country. And he came into this town and when they preached the Gospel to me, the first verse that I knew was John 3:16. ‘For God so love the world, that He gave His only son that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.'" Listen as this woman quoted a portion for the first time in their hearing. (audio of Zambian translation followed by cheers) Amazingly, it's the first time this language has been written down for any reason. MUMBA: “That Bible is the first written literature. We've never had anything before.” Bishop Mumba explained what it meant. MUMBA: “God is speaking our language!” Of the world's 7,000 languages, fewer than 800 have the Bible fully translated. Consider giving a gift to help fund the sacred work of Wycliffe Translators. The Generations Radio Program

The "green" global elites are aiming for total food control. Their power grab, which is now most evident in Holland, threatens the entire planet — including the United States. Guest host Adam McManus interviews Dr. Calvin Beisner, Founder of the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation about two disturbing articles in The New American by William Jasper.  The first, entitled “No Farmers, No Food,” outlines how the environmental activists are using the ploy of global warming to severely restrict the amount of chemical fertilizers and pesticides as well as the number of cattle which Dutch farmers can use and own. Farmers are revolting. Amazingly, even though the Netherlands is slightly larger than the state of Maryland, it is the second largest agricultural exporter behind the United States The second, entitled “Biden's War on Farmers,” reveals that Biden's fiscal and anti-fossil fuel policies are devastating our entire national economy, including agriculture. Amazingly, Biden's own Climate Czar, John Kerry, admitted that even if America dropped its gas emissions to zero overnight, the so-called “Climate Crisis” wouldn't be solved because China, India, and Russia collectively contribute massive global emissions. While a Washington Post article in May of 2021 claimed that “Air pollution from farms leads to 17,900 U.S. deaths per year,” Beisner says that is demonstrably untrue.  He points to Steve Milloy's book entitled Scare Pollution: Why and How to Fix the Environmental Protection Agency. Jasper concludes, “If the globalists are allowed to succeed, millions of independent family farms across the globe will be wiped out and replaced by a few dozen government-favored crony corporatists. Then, based on something resembling Communist China's ‘social credit' system, the government-corporate politburo will be able to determine if you and your family get food, as well as when you get it, what type of food you get, and in what quantities. That is a recipe for absolute tyranny and something all Americans should fight with every fiber of their being.” Ultimately, Beisner asserts that the environmentalists, who hate God and humans created in His image, believe that the presence of humans on Earth is a scourge. An optimum number would be 500 million people.  That would be an alarming 97% reduction in the world's population! This program includes: 1. Today on the show we have two filmmakers that shot a sci-fi feature film with a $600 camera, three lights, no-budget, no stars and a dream. Amazingly they were still able to get worldwide distribution. The film is called COSMOS and the filmmakers are brothers Elliot Weaver & Zander Weaver.COSMOS is a no-budget sci-fi feature film directed and self-produced by brothers Elliot Weaver & Zander Weaver, taking on all key crew roles throughout production, with the exception of writing the score. The film is a contemporary sci-fi mystery following three amateur astronomers who accidentally intercept what they believe is a signal from an alien civilization. Realising they may have just stumbled across Mankind's greatest discovery, they must race to document their finding, prove its authenticity and share it with the world before it is lost forever. But the truth they uncover is even more incredible than any of them could have imagined.Inspired by Amblin-era adventure, set over one night and against the backdrop of a World changing discovery, COSMOS offers spectacle and thrills but reminds us success is nothing without people to share it with. You can see the insanity that they went through to make this film. They started pre-production in 2013 and production in 2015. They shot it on my favorite camera the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 1080p, the same camera I shot my indie feature On the Corner of Ego and Desire with. Their soundstage was built in their garage where they would build up and breakdown the set every night. The film took 5 years to complete. The pure insanity of these filmmakers is awe inspiring. The brothers and I discuss what it took to make COSMOS, the tech they used, how they keep the actors for years and so much more.Enjoy my inspiring conversation with Elliot and Zander Weaver.

He decided to move closer to downtown Houston and just do what single dudes do—party and live the youth of their 20s. Tony met a woman during all the partying, and an unplanned pregnancy happened. They decided the right thing to do was to keep and raise the child together. Tony had an apartment lease that he couldn't break, so he moved in with the woman and paid both rents. Soon enough, the two realized they weren't meant to be in a relationship. The connection just wasn't there. But they just stuck it out because they didn't want to disappoint their parents. In no time, Tony started to spiral down and got into a depressive state, but he hung around for another six months after his son was born. The relationship kept getting toxic, and finally, one of the arguments escalated to the point where she told Tony to leave. He took that as a sign, packed up what little he had, got the cheapest place he could afford, and restarted his life. Lessons learnedKnow your self-worth. It was great meeting Jonathan over the phone.  He has a very interesting story.   Here's a little background:Jonathan grew up in a Messianic Jewish home. But he made his own choice to follow Yeshua. One evening, while on a pre-army trip with a friend in 1981 – Jonathan was curious to know: If there was a God, why the world was in such a mess? The answer, when it came was quiet and simple… As he sincerely internalized his guilt in the mess, he was overwhelmed by the understanding that the great Creator-of-the-universe loves him wants him and KNOWS him – And so, that night, he gave his Maker EVERYTHING – whoever he thought he was; art, sports – EVERYTHING – he gave Him the “keys” to his life. He put his faith in Yeshua and handed his life over to Him, as his Master. He was AMAZINGLY transformed!Jonathan and Faith Goldberg serve in Haifa Israel.

Is there life after death? An estimated 9 million Americans from believers to atheists have had a near dear experience, according to the National Institute of Health. This is happening all over the world and 17% occur to people who are clinically dead for a several minutes. On the 50th episode of All Heart with Paul Cardall, Army Veteran and Psychotherapist Brian Hoyland shares his remarkable near death experience that he claims took him into the presence of God. Brian's military experience exposed him to toxic chemicals that led to heart failure. He underwent a heart transplant like Paul Cardall. The two discuss what it's like to recover from a heart transplant.  About Brian HoylandI began my adult life by joining the U.S. Army Military Police Corps after high school; I served my country all over the world and was disabled due to injuries sustained during service. I then went on to obtain a master's degree in counseling psychology and started working as a psychotherapist with other combat veterans in the Department of Veteran's Affairs. I then worked as a program director and clinical supervisor with criminal offenders for the prison system in MN. I took a job with a private company working with recently released offenders to advance my career and it came with a large pay increase, but 4 months after I started I suffered a major heart failure and almost died. This was just the beginning of what my life would be like for the next couple of years. After having been exposed to toxic chemicals while in the military, I developed an autoimmune disease that would eventually kill me. One night, 8/2016, I suffered sudden and mysterious heart failure, the cause of which took several months, much testing and quite a bit of suffering to discover. The whole time God was gently calling me to repair my relationship with him and it was working.  Then, just after the cause was discovered I had a massive cardiac arrest and died for 10 minutes 01/2017. Yet, in that moment, I had a near-death experience, visited heaven and talked with Jesus. I never lost consciousness and I remember my 7 hour fight in the ER, my death, Heaven and my return without a break in my conscious thought. This experience transformed my life as I learned valuable lessons about myself, my life, my faith and our God. When I died I stood face-to-face with God and God showed only love to me and I could feel that love was the same for every human being and it was pure and that God is LOVE (1 John 4:7-8)! I documented my experience in my journal, because While God did let me choose to return, I had failed to ask him how long I could expect to have until I returned to Heaven, so I wanted to be sure if it wasn't long that I would be able to share it.  Amazingly, I lived for another 2 years and received a heart transplant on Ash Wednesday 2019. Upon biopsy of my heart after transplant, my Mayo Clinic transplant team told me that there was not a medical reason for my heart to have been functioning at all with such extensive damage. I however knew the cause. So I decided that I must write a book about my story. I tried to share how all of the suffering I endured leading up to the NDE and for the 2 years following until I received my heart transplant, helped me to see God's hand in my life and even during extreme suffering just how faithful and gentle God has been with me. And I want to share this with anyone who will listen. I want people to take away that “God loves them and has a plan for them and will stop at nothing to accept them into heaven if they are willing to trust in him. When I wrote my book I was pressured to take the central focus out and replace it with a more acceptable term so as to increase sales. Can you guess what that was? If you guessed Jesus you were right. Everyone felt referencing Jesus so strongly would turn people away and limit my audience, but how could I have the audacity to leave out my savior, the only reason for my visit at all.Get a copy of Brian's book "From Sudden Death to Paradise" under his alias T.S. God is gracious and merciful to save us! He reaches down into our helplessness with light, hope, and help. He not only rescues us, but He also keeps us secure until the end. The Father, Son, and Spirit all play a role in our salvation.  Amazingly, God has also ordained that you and I play a part in helping each other make it to Heaven safely! We are going to talk about that this Sunday! The church body is in desperate need of one another! We need to make sure that we are connecting in life-giving ways to one another, helping each other grow in Christ-likeness, and caring for the body.

We are people of faith. We trust that God exists. We trust that Jesus died and rose for us. We trust, we live in faith, every single day. For a long time therefore, the Church berated and shunned those who doubted. They were called, from our story in John today, “Doubting Thomases” and thought to be less than the best Christian. Amazingly however, Jesus doesn't act like us! Oh…that's not amazing is it? He always shows us the way and in this instance He reminds us that while He knew all about Thomas's doubting and unbelief, He came for Him, not once, but twice. He knew and yet He spoke “peace”. He knew and yet He did what He needed to do to bring faith into the heart of Thomas and perhaps, make him even stronger than he was before. And so He does with us…but so He also does through us to others! Thank you Jesus for coming to us in our doubt!

It's likely you follow a few influencers. Men and women who have massive followings, they are witty, insightful and seem to be made for the stage. Experts you admire and yet, more than once, you've wondered what they did to gain the following they have. One thing is for sure, the great majority of well-known influencers started out as complete unknowns. Unknowns who somehow, someway, went from total obscurity and likely struggling financially, to world renowned, financially successful public figures. Influencers are often the people we choose to invest our money with for products and services. Amazingly, the two may go hand in hand. The more you follow an influencer, the more you tend to trust them. In the past, people were much more inclined to make buying decisions without putting much thought into their decision. Yet, today, due to the downturn in the economy, the pandemic and so much global uncertainty, many people are more cautious about their buying decisions. “Work your fingers to the bone - whadda ya get? Boney Fingers.” This 1960s song mocking the vaunted virtue of working hard is being sung today with new meaning by all kinds of employees – from factory workers to teachers… and even a few upper-floor executives. The rebellion here is not merely over low pay, but particularly about the unrelenting nature of work itself – the all-consuming “job imperative,” as if that's your life: Go 40 to 60 hours a week 50 to 52 weeks a year for half a century or more… then die. Is that all there is? Is that all we are? Amazingly, this existential, truly-revolutionary question is one that millions of hard-working people throughout our top-down corporate system are asking themselves, their families, and friends. Why are we working like this, why does it matter, what else is there? Airline pilots, for example, have stunned the industry by prioritizing non-monetary demands in their current contract negotiations with the big Four monopolistic airline giants. The bosses have offered 14 percent pay hikes, but pilots are demanding something more meaningful: Structural changes to improve their quality of life. They're routinely frustrated by management's inept scheduling, inadequate staffing, and onerous work rules that leave them stressed out, dangerously fatigued, and often stranded far from home. The bottom line is not to get another dollar, but being able to plan and enjoy a non-work life. “You absolutely cannot address quality of life with money,” says the president of the pilots' union at Southwest Airlines. “You're never going to pay someone enough for a lost piano recital with their daughter or a lost baseball game.” There are many compromises required to make a living these days, but we humans are finally beginning to say: Enough – you can buy my hard work, but not my life.
