There’s often a wide gap between our intentions and our actions. We fail to take the action necessary to be in alignment with our good intentions. This can be very frustrating. 4 Steps to Building Persistent Behavior and Get Even Better Results

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 29, 2024 7:29 Transcription Available

Persistence is sort of like a ‘magic word' when it comes to success. Persistence is basically the repetition or continuation of behavior, and it is an absolutely essential part of business. As a successful business owner, you no doubt have at least a pretty good idea of what it takes to be persistent, though it never hurts to revisit a subject that is very important.  The whole idea of persistence revolves around the fact that motivation has a tendency to wax and wane a bit as time goes by. Persistence is a behavior that can be learned, and it is also a behavior which will render this troublesome waxing and waning of your motivation harmless in the long run, which is why it is so instrumental to expanding your current level of success. However, since persistence is an attribute of longevity, it can take some strength of mind and some psychological fortitude to really believe in it enough to make a commitment to practice it day after day. Now, we are going to discuss 4 steps to building persistent behavior. Following these steps will help you with the process of more consistently being a persistent person so you can experience even better results. Every day, remind yourself that persistence is an absolute necessity. Without it, any business will flounder and possibly even fail. If you find yourself lacking persistence, then keep taking each of these four steps, one at a time. Taking a proactive approach to solving this problem is by far the best way to deal with it, and these steps forward are a perfect way to get started! I'm the author of many books, including, Excuses Don't Count; Results Rule, Live Life with No Regrets, No Excuses, The Guide to Stopping Procrastination, The Power of Visualization, My Gratitude Journal, the Work Life Balance Emergency Kit, and The Roadmap To Success with Stephen Covey and Ken Blanchard, and more.   Support the showIf you would like help sticking to your goals, so you can make more money and work less, and ultimately enjoy having your ideal business and ideal life, reach out to me today to schedule your complimentary consultation. Use Time Blocks to Manage Your Schedule and Increase Your Success

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 22, 2024 9:01 Transcription Available

Using calendar time blocks is one of the best ways to effectively manage your time. It's a skill that is often overlooked but is an essential key to a productive day (day after day). We'll explore different ways you can make this critical practice easier in your life and take some of the stress out of your schedule by breaking up tasks into manageable chunks. One of the benefits of using time blocks is that it gives you more control over your day. You can use it to prioritize what's important and get the most critical tasks done right away, or you can set up time blocks for things like checking email, social media, or other less pressing activities that take up a lot of time. It can also help you manage tasks when you have limited time to work on them. Remember - time blocks aren't set in stone! You'll notice that I've given you many different options for creating your time block schedule. That's because there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to managing your time effectively. How to Stay Motivated During a Time Block It can be hard to stay focused and motivated when you know you only have a limited amount of time to do something. One trick is to set your target for the time block and break your goals down into smaller steps. This way, you'll feel like you're constantly moving forward, rather than just staring at a long to-do list or a pile of work. How to Make the Most of Your Time Blocks When you plan your day, think about how long tasks will take you. Then, block off enough time to do them correctly. Avoid multitasking and using time blocks for more than one task at a time, as it can be stressful and cost you extra time in the long run. It can be tempting to say that a particular time block will work for all tasks, but it doesn't. Experiment with different lengths of time blocks and see how they affect you getting the work done. A longer time block might give you the chance to take a break from your work now and then, while a shorter one may help you stay even more focused. When deciding how to split your day, give yourself a small test run of each time block. If you need more time than scheduled, increase your blocks to the desired length in the future.  Similarly, if you feel that tasks are taking less time than expected, reduce your time blocks. Your schedule should be flexible enough to allow you to shift your time blocks as you go along. This will save you from wasting time on tasks that don't need as much time and help you manage your overall productivity for the day. My philosophy is that if the calendar could talk, assuming you have the “right” activities in it, it would tell you what to do and when, and you would say, thanks calendar and move on to the next activity.  Did you know that some of the most productive people in the world swear by time blocking?  Ever heard of Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Michael Hyatt, or Cal Newport?  Yep – all time-blockers. Happy New Year! Let's kick some butt in 2024!  “What the New Year brings to you will depend a great deal on what you bring to the New Year.” I think this is a great quote by Vern McLellan. We all have 365 days in a year. The only difference between the successful people and the mediocre is what they do with each day. We spend every second of every day doing something. Are those activities moving you forward or keeping you where you currently are? I just wanted to take a quick moment to say how much I appreciate your business and continued support. It is a pleasure for me to be able to serve entrepreneurs and business professionals like you. I believe that you and I have the ability to have a positive impact on this world.  That's why I'm so excited to serve our community. 2023 has been written and I hope our relationship will grow into something even more amazing in 2024. When hard-working, values- and goals-driven people like you and I put our heads together, there's no limit to what we can accomplish. Thank you for your continued support and I hope you let me know how else I can be of service to you in 2024 and beyond. I wish you a very healthy, happy, and profitable new year.  Oprah Winfrey said: “Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.”  I welcome your comments and feedback on how I can help you make 2024 your best year ever!Aim for what you want each and every day!  Until next time, make it a great day, today and every day.  I very much appreciate you listening.   Aim for what you want each and every day!  Anne BachrachThe Accountability Coach™The Results Accelerator™ Support the showIf you would like help sticking to your goals, so you can make more money and work less, and ultimately enjoy having your ideal business and ideal life, reach out to me today to schedule your complimentary consultation. Today's economic landscape is vastly different as we all know and are experiencing, which creates a need for businesses to rethink everything from marketing strategy to pricing plans.Businesses that have not updated their plans in the last year will be at a disadvantage as they try to compete with those who have adapted quickly and effectively.   Let's explore some tips on when you should update your company's business plan to continue thriving regardless of the economy. I will also review what's involved in updating your current business plan and provide key insights to guide you toward a successful update. Why Should I Update My Business Success Plan?Without properly updating your business plan, you can quickly find yourself at a disadvantage in the marketplace. This means providing less than stellar client service, no competitive pricing plans, outdated marketing strategies, not effectively using current technology, and failing to take advantage of new market opportunities. In this day and age, businesses have to keep their eyes on the big picture to be successful. Many business owners simply tweak their existing plans instead of actually updating them, leading to a failure to adapt. This practice can be a death sentence for any business that finds itself going head-to-head with those who take the time to make sure their business is prepared for any changes in the economic landscape. So, when is the right time to update your business plan? The answer is not as straightforward as you may think. You want to make sure that you are always looking ahead and not falling behind. Whether or not your company is currently in the process of updating its business plan, you need to consistently be thinking about what's next and always making sure to take a practical approach. If you need help updating your business success plan or creating a new one, reach out to me today to schedule your complimentary consultation.Aim for what you want each and every day!   Go to https://www.accountabilitycoach.com to check out for yourself how I, as your Accountability Coach™, can help you get and stay focused on you highest payoff activities that put you in the highest probability position to achieve your professional and personal goals, so you can enjoy the kind of business and life you truly want and deserve. I'm the author of many books, including, Excuses Don't Count; Results Rule, Live Life with No Regrets, No Excuses, The Guide to Stopping Procrastination, and the Work Life Balance Emergency Kit, The Roadmap To Success with Stephen Covey and Ken Blanchard, and more.  Support the showIf you would like help sticking to your goals, so you can make more money and work less, and ultimately enjoy having your ideal business and ideal life, reach out to me today to schedule your complimentary consultation. 5 Tips for Exploring Your Life Purpose

If you've ever wondered if there was more to life than what you're currently experiencing, you'll find this discussion helpful. First, let's clarify that identifying your life's purpose isn't the end all - you still have to find a way to integrate it into your life, that for most of us, has been built on necessity or security. Yes, we all have bills to pay; however, selling your soul (so to speak) in the name of security isn't necessarily the way it has to be. I'm all for fueling your passions, and I'm also a firm believer in smart and strategic business decisions. My advice is to take this process slowly. If you love what you do, find a way to work your life purpose into your career or business. If you don't love what you do, then explore other avenues that support a solid business foundation and purpose. These 5 tips will help you explore your life purpose and find more meaning in your life as well as your profession. The difficult part of exploring your life's purpose is not the actual learning what it is (that part is fairly easy), it's the change that is required to integrate into a life that has been likely built on necessity and security. Depending on where you are in life, integrating your life purpose into a career or entrepreneur venture may be a bit of a challenge; however, don't let the level of challenge fool you. Change is only as difficult as we make it out to be. At the end of the day, it's your life, your choice. It's up to you to decide how you'd like to live your life and the nature of the legacy you'd like to leave.Want more business success tips and resources? Of course you do…. Being consistent in your approach to business is one of the best ways to continuously grow a successful business.  Many experts agree that it is the single most important attribute in building a positive work culture, one in which you and everyone can thrive.  There is nothing more effective than consistency when it comes to making your business stand out from the competition.  Let's explore 8 benefits of consistency within the workplace that will help ensure that you are getting the results that you want to achieve. The real key to being consistent is to match your actions to your words.  If your business is lacking in this area, remind yourself what the end result will be when you continue to be consistent (increased sales, more clients, improved efficiency, etc.).  Keep in mind what you are trying to accomplish through being consistent and the motivation to do so will come more easily day after day. Being consistent takes practice and dedication because it involves setting and achieving goals over the long term.  A commitment to consistency can be challenging, particularly at first, but once behaviors have become routine, they become much easier to follow. Aim for what you want each and every day!  Anne BachrachThe Accountability Coach™The Results Accelerator™  Go to https://www.accountabilitycoach.com to check out for yourself how I, as your Accountability Coach™, can help you get and stay focused on you highest payoff activities that put you in the highest probability position to achieve your professional and personal goals, so you can enjoy the kind of business and life you truly want and deserve.  Get your daily Accountability Minute shot of a single, simple, doable idea, so you can start your day off on the "right foot". 10 Behaviors That Make You Even More Successful in Business

Would you be interested to know what behaviors can make you even more successful?  If “YES”, I am glad you are because I can help you with finding this out! Keep listening and you'll discover the ten different behaviors that will help you be even more successful in your business. It's not always easy to change your habits, but these changes will benefit your business's bottom line with a little bit of time and practice.  The goal is simple: To help make sure that all of these changes will work for YOU, so that they put you on the right track towards being even more successful! Do you believe that your behavior can affect your success as an entrepreneur? Success is influenced by many different factors, including education, talent, personality, commitment, belief, focus, and more. However, the reality is that nothing affects your success more than your daily behavior. Behavior is defined as "the way a person acts or behaves." So, if you want to become more successful, you need to understand how your actions affect that outcome. Behaviors will help you achieve your goals because they are your actions to get to those goals. For example, if I want to be successful in business, your behaviors will include reading more, managing your time even better, and consistently looking for ways to grow every day. Many people think they need to change who they are or what they do; however, these changes won't stick. Changing behaviors is a lot easier than changing who you are or what you do. One of the most important things to remember is that your goals can adjust once your behavior changes. Want more proven business success tips and resources? Our beliefs are stronger than we often think. So much stronger. They are so strong in fact, that they often can have very physical effects on us. You might have noticed it too ─ you wake up feeling terrible, and just like that, the rest of the day just feels draining. Flip that around and wake up on the right side of the bed, and things just seem to go smoothly. The same goes with our beliefs. Have positive beliefs that uplift and empower you, and you'd feel empowered and driven. Have negative beliefs or negative thoughts, and you'd be limited in what you can achieve. Sometimes though, it's practically impossible to not have some of these limiting beliefs (conscious or unconscious). Sometimes they just come. Maybe it's a result of the social circles we find ourselves in. Maybe it's the effect of hearing how other people have failed over and over again at achieving their goals. Whatever the reason, these negative thoughts often come and create limiting beliefs in our lives.  80% of success is mindset and 20% is strategy! 95% of our thoughts are the same each day, and on average, 80% of our thoughts are negative! It's up to us to do our best to overcome these limiting beliefs and in so doing, improve our lives. Need some help doing that? I've got you covered. Let's explore four steps you can take to overcome your limiting beliefs, so you can more quickly achieve your goals.  Here are 4 Steps to Take in Overcoming Your Limiting Beliefs. Many times, the problem is that most of the time you don't even know about the limiting beliefs you have. The key is finding a way to change our mindset, so you can figure out a way to identify the limiting beliefs. Today we are talking about Overcoming Your Accountability Apprehension to Achieve Even More Than You Might Have Thought Possible. Many people suffer from accountability apprehension. They feel that opening themselves up to scrutiny from others will leave them vulnerable, and – sometimes – even worry that this window into their successes and failures can hold them back in any business or workplace. While this may have been true years ago, the fact is that today's culture is one that is obsessed with personal growth and looks favorably on individuals that take intentional measures to become better, more productive, more positive versions of themselves. The mark of a successful businessperson is often his or her ability to adapt when necessary. Failure to pivot well when needed can lead to business failure at a catastrophic level, whether that looks like an inability to implement change that employees require to maintain job satisfaction, or the inability to anticipate changing client needs in time to meet those needs before your competition does.Wouldn't it be great if our ‘good intentions' worked the way that we think they should?  Not even enthusiasm guarantees positive results. There's often a wide gap between our intentions and our actions.  We fail to take the action necessary to be in alignment with our good intentions. The #1 Reason People Don't Get What They Want in Life is Lack of Accountability. When you are held accountable to the activity required to achieve your goals, you will make more money, work less, and enjoy having your ideal business and ideal life.To review 4 different types of accountability coaching options and decide which one might be of the most value to you, so you can achieve your goals and enjoy the kind of business and life you truly want, go to https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/coaching/.For more help with growing your business and accelerating your results, reach out to me today and schedule your complimentary consultation. Want more business success tips and resources? What is Procrastination Costing You in Your Business and Life?

Poor follow through – consciously deciding to do something, but then not doing it for whatever reason – is a fact of life for many of us. Most people find that the gap between their intentions and their actions is too vast, and fall short of doing what is required to achieve their goals. Think about the promises you've made to yourself in the past. Of all the promises and commitments you have made to yourself, how many have you kept? This phenomenon takes a toll on virtually every aspect of our life. Our lack of ability to commit to taking action prevents us from achieving personal, financial, relationship, and career goals that would otherwise be well within our reach.Have you ever considered the cost of poor follow through in your life? Think about a goal that you have failed to meet in the past. Was your failure to follow through a by-product of the fact that you were really okay with the way things were to begin with? Or does the poor follow through bother you? Does the knowledge that you didn't follow through with your goals eat you up inside because you know you aren't doing what you need to do to get the result you say you want?As long as we continue to expect our “good” intentions to work the way they should instead of facing reality about the probability of following through, we'll just keep repeating the same mistakes. Like the definition of insanity – You keep doing the same things over and over again, and expective a different result, when that just isn't going to happen.  Don't let procrastination hold you back any longer. 5 Ways to Have a ‘Winning' Attitude

Having a winning attitude is essential to being successful. Theodore Roosevelt once said ‘Believe YOU CAN and you are half way there'. A lot of times, we end up defeating ourselves before we begin by having a negative outlook on what is going on. We sometimes tend to look at opportunities and only see roadblocks, or see only a glass that is ‘half empty' as opposed to ‘half full'. Having a ‘winning attitude' is all about how we view the world around us. It can be very easy to only see problems when we face hard times and new challenges, and yet the most successful people in the world have always shown that outlook plays a huge part in how successful you are. So how can you have a winning attitude, even in the face of adversity? Well, let's explore 5 tips that might point you in the right direction. Following these 5 tips will get you well on your way to defeating that negative frame of mind that threatens to dampen your spirits and discourage you when times get tough. What you can imagine is what your potential is and what your possibilities are. Set your intention and choose to live the life you want. Many billionaires do imagination work every day. They imagine what they want for a few minutes every single day as a consistent habit. You can do the exact same thing to help you accelerate your results in business and in life. Visualization is a way of tapping into the amazing power of the mind, so that you can train your brain to help you create the kind of life you want.To download my complimentary thought-provoking Power of Visualization, Creating and Enjoying Your Ideal Business and Ideal Life Guidebook, go to https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/visualization. Want more business success tips and resources? Sticking to your goals is not always easy, especially if the next level of success is at stake. It can be very tempting to give up and stay where you are because the next level requires a lot more work… but this is not what you really want for yourself! Part of setting worthwhile goals and sticking to them is that this process allows you to grow as a person. If you give up and go back to the way you were before, then you are not going to have the peace of mind and confidence that comes from KNOWING that you can achieve your goals when you set your mind to it!Maybe your goals are business related, or maybe they are personal, or both (which is what I recommend to have great work life balance). Regardless of what they are, they MUST be important to you…so why give up on them? Life is what you make of it, and achieving goals is one way to shape your life on YOUR terms. Goals are something that nobody can take from you, which is why sticking to them is SO important! Let's now explore 6 tips for sticking to your goals. These six tips are simple to understand, and they can help you with even the most complex goals that might be on your list! Even if it seems like sticking to your goals is the most difficult thing in the world to do during certain times, it is important to remember that if you DON'T stick with them, you absolutely WILL NOT succeed to the level you want and desire. Today, really think about what your goals are, and find it within yourself to make a promise… promise yourself that you WILL NOT stop sticking to your goals, even when it gets difficult.  The vision of the benefits you will experience when you achieve your goals should be powerful enough to keep moving you forward. Want more business success tips and resources?
