Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most trusted names in medical aesthetics. In this episode of Skin Anarchy, Dr. Ekta Yadav sits down with Lynn Heublein, co-founder and CEO of SkinSpirit, to explore how a background in engineering and tech led to the creation of a med spa empire grounded in ethics, education, and patient-first care.Lynn shares how SkinSpirit grew from one Palo Alto location into the nation's leading provider of Botox and fillers—not by chasing trends, but by holding true to rigorous standards of training and safety. Listeners will hear how her partnership with plastic surgeon Dr. M Dean Vistnes shaped SkinSpirit's founding philosophy: lead with science, grow with integrity, and always do what's right for the client. This episode unpacks the hidden dangers of social media-fueled overtreatment and unqualified injectors, and how SkinSpirit's “curated, not trendy” approach helps clients age with intention and confidence. Lynn also opens up about SkinSpirit's partnership with Nordstrom—a move grounded in trust and aligned values, not marketing optics.Whether you're in the industry or simply navigating your own skincare journey, this conversation reveals what it truly means to combine clinical excellence with ethical care. Examining the impacts of relaxed staff training and licensing requirements on nursing homes

Lauren welcomes Gulrukh Mehboob for a discussion about the impacts of relaxed staff training and licensing requirements on nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Gul is a Fulbright PhD scholar at the University of Iowa College of Public Health, studying health workforce policy, particularly in long-term care settings. • Between March 2020 and September 2021, 19 states reduced CNA training and licensing requirements in an effort to address staffing shortages in nursing homes. • Gulrukh's study found that these policy changes did not improve CNA staffing levels in nursing homes, even though some scholars had argued that strict training and licensing requirements were a barrier to entering the field. • Gulrukh suggests that improving wages, benefits, and working conditions for CNAs may be more effective than reducing training and licensing requirements for addressing staffing shortages in nursing homes. • Her future research will explore the impact of other workforce policies, such as incentive-based programs and wage increases, on staffing and quality of care in nursing homes. The Minister for Children's $41 million workforce investment is expected to train and retain youth care staff. Karen Chhour says her new funding follows a 2023 Oranga Tamariki review, which found many workers weren't equipped to deal with the high needs of some kids in care. The boost will qualify more staff, recruit capable workers to vacant positions, and establish clinical roles in each residence. Child Matters CEO Jane Searle told Ryan Bridge dealing with high-risk kids takes a level of expertise. She says they were having staff who didn't have that level of training and struggled, causing high turnover. LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Behind every great moment of American prosperity, there's been a bold move to let people keep more of what they earn. In this episode of American Potential, host David From is joined by Chris Stio, Deputy Director of Staff Training at Americans for Prosperity, to trace the powerful history of tax reform in America—from the Civil War to JFK, from Reagan to the modern-day Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. It's more than a policy discussion—it's a story of what happens when government gets out of the way and trusts people to build, create, and thrive. Drawing on decades of economic history, Chris explains how lowering taxes has consistently empowered individuals, sparked growth, and lifted millions. He also reveals how the language we use—words like “tax relief”—can inspire action and shape the national conversation. As Tax Day approaches and Congress debates whether to let tax hikes kick in, this conversation is a rallying cry for action. Because when we cut through the noise and stand up for real reform, we're not just defending numbers on a page—we're defending opportunity, dignity, and the very promise of the American Dream.

This 1-2 hour session offers templates, practical guidance, and advice on framing their summer accomplishments in a way employers outside the camp world can understand. It's a simple but impactful way to prepare our counselors and staff for future opportunities. We also promote the workshop to families during camper drop-offs, and the response is overwhelmingly positive. Parents love seeing us invest in their kids' professional development, and it adds value to the overall camp experience. For our staff, the workshop not only builds confidence but also strengthens their connection to camp, increasing the likelihood of their return next year. This initiative has been a win-win for everyone. Alan welcomes Ruben Kamp, the founder and a ransomware expert at Darkhorse Tech.   Dental practices are very susceptible to ransomware. We all like to think that it won't happen to us, but between 7 and 9% of dental offices suffer ransomware attacks every year! Are you taking all the precautions that you can?   Reuben and Alan discuss the critical issues of ransomware attacks and cybersecurity in dental practices. They explore real-life incidents, including how ransomware infiltrates dental offices (spoiler: Reuben says it's about 91% through email)  They also talk about the severe implications such attacks can have, from damage to your reputation to legal liabilities. Ruben provides comprehensive advice on preventive measures, including the importance of firewalls, regular updates, team training, and cybersecurity insurance.   They emphasize that while ransomware threats are pervasive, proper security protocols can significantly mitigate risks. I have two main points. The first is about a structured communication format that I've been developing to enhance how we approach sending out information. It emphasizes understanding what motivates parents, staff, rental group contacts, and other stakeholders to *open*, *read*, *absorb*, *act on*, and *share* the messages they receive. This structure can simplify communication, whether for big changes or small updates. One of the key changes I hope we make is to be intentional in our communication. By using the "open, read, absorb, act, and share" framework, we can break down complex messages into manageable parts. This approach makes it easier to both plan and measure the impact of our communications. The second point relates to organizing tasks, particularly for those of us with ADHD, where breaking down projects into steps is critical. It's common in roles like emergency services and camp management to find people who thrive in fast-paced settings but may struggle with complex planning due to ADHD. I recommend a tool called Goblin Tools. If you're taking on a large or daunting project, this tool allows you to enter the project title or key concept, and it automatically breaks it down into actionable steps. This not only makes tasks less overwhelming but also helps in delegating or prioritizing effectively. Sometimes, the simple act of breaking down a complex task can be the key to making real progress. -Special Guest: Travis Allison, Co-Founder of GoCamp.Pro - Go Camp Pro-Your Hosts:Beth Allison, Camp Consultant - Go Camp ProRuby Compton, Chief Exploration Officer - Ruby OutdoorsGabrielle Raill, Camp Director - Camp Ouareau-Thanks to our sponsors…UltraCampImagine camp registration software that actually gives you MORE time for what you love - CAMP!
