In this episode, Michael and Clement discuss the concept of search term graduation. They also introduce the idea of lateral search term graduation, which involves taking search terms from sponsored products and using them in other campaign types such as Sponsored Brand, Sponsored Brand Video, and Sponsored Display. They also point out that this is an easy win for advertisers because it allows them to use existing data from sponsored products to prevent ad waste and expand their market share. Finally, they suggest that duplicating search terms across campaign types is a good way to own the search result page, as it can increase the chances of having multiple sponsored placements at the top of the page. Are they really worth the hype? Join me as we walk through the pros and cons of joining a 30 day challenge.  We'll also cover tips for determining which 30-day challenge will truly challenge yourself in a way that is beneficial and worthwhile!    30 day challenges have been growing wildly in popularity. Especially during all of the new-year buzz.  I feel like I am seeing 30 day challenges EVERYWHERE!    Is a 30-Day Challenge Worth It?  Challenges can be the sucky thing to do.  Challenging yourself though, can be a dream come true. It's all in which kind you choose, how you approach it, and your level of flexibility.    We see them all the time–the 30-day crunch challenge or the 30-day squat challenge.  In theory, it sounds so easy!  But, in reality, a lot of challenges are sold as broad reaching when they're really not for everyone.    Let's take a look at the pros and cons…   Negatives of Challenges Too Specific Most challenges like the “30-day crunch challenge” only focus on one movement. Aside from the fact that crunches aren't the most effective form of core movements, doing one movement constantly over a whole month can bring deficits to other parts of your fitness or body if you're not properly training, stretching, or otherwise.  Short Term Motivation When you get your challenge started, it's so exciting!  But, that motivation is bound to wane. Slip-ups will happen and the motivation can quickly turn into guilt, which isn't really what health and fitness are all about. Positives of Challenges Kickstart If you select the right challenge, it can serve as a great kickstart to future habits. For example, if you participate in a 30-day sugar-free challenge where you avoid any and all processed sugars, you will find yourself less motivated to eat those even after the challenge. Appropriate Length for Results 30 days is plenty of time to see results.  Especially if you are choosing a challenge that focuses on mobility, weight loss with changes in eating, or mobility, you will definitely be able to feel or see results in this timeframe. Excitement A 30-day challenge is simply exciting! There's just something about joining a challenge with your friends that can really bring some variety into your fitness routine.   Tips for Challenges If you pick the right 30-day challenge, you'll be able to experience all of the positives while minimizing the negatives. Here are some things to consider when selecting one that is right for you… Pick One For YOU Don't just join a 30-day challenge because your office is doing one. Really consider what you want to focus on and what movements or objectives will best serve your body.  Pick One That Shows Results As mentioned above, 30-days is enough time to show results. Results can be incredibly motivating to take your challenge beyond that 30-day window and into your everyday life.  Select one where you will be able to quantifiably see, feel, or notice a difference.   Look for Fun There are so many challenges available out there: some that prepare you for a race, ride, or hike, some that challenge you physically and mentally, and even some that are virtual.  Shop around and find one that you feel would be incredibly fun.

Welcome to this first Alopecia Life episode of 2023. Today, our guest is Natalie Diasti. We talk about one bold experience that many of us have already gone through, and one that so many others are still wanting to have, but just don't quite know how. The first time we choose to publicly be out in the world without anything on our head. The questions of, "What will people think?" or "How will they respond?" are all still there, but so is the perfect timing that sometimes calls to each of us. That moment that says, "If I don't do it now, I might never do it at all." This interview was filled with the realness of the moments of preparing to go out. The doubts that creep in, and that twist of emotions that builds that we are all so familiar with when learning to walk in the world in this new way. I am an artist and a writer living in beautiful Tampa, Florida. I enjoy photographing nature, laughing with my improv friends and movie nights with my family. I love a good adventure just as much as I love some good snacks in bed with Netflix. I am what I call, the “back row kid.” In a stadium full of people, I have always loved to slink my way into the back row, unseen, and observe. Being a six foot tall woman has not made my “blend in with the crowd” lifestyle very easy. Now I am a bald, six foot tall woman and pretty much forced to get out there and not be ashamed or embarrassed of who I truly am. Throughout my alopecia journey I have often heard myself say, “this is not ME.” It's true, being bald is not me, but being bold IS and I am slowly learning how to move myself from the back row to the stage. Being bald does not define me. Being bold does. Funny how becoming bald has reminded me who I truly am and forced me to come out of my shell. I always try to find the silver lining in things and alopecia has made that rather hard. Negatives aside, I have learned that I don't need hair. I may want it, but I don't need it. No one does. Unless you live in the Arctic, then you would benefit from it. I am more than hair. You are more than hair. Looks do not define me. My actions, the way I treat others, my attitude, my heart and the way I live my life defines me. My hope is to take a bad situation, toss some glitter on it and brighten someone else's dark day. It's a personalized process that each of us gets to decide on, without pressure from our co-workers, best friends, or family. It's completely up to us in our own time. I remember the first time I said to myself, "It's gotta be now." I was actually driving down to California to the NAAF conference with my daughter, my sister, and my mom. This past year has been one of the hardest years of my life…Here are 7 Negatives I've turned into Positives through gratitude…First off… What is gratitude?Gratitude is all about your frame of reference.When you take a moment to re-frame your circumstances with how far God has brought you, and what he's saved you from, you can get grateful real quick.Here's some ‘hard to swallow' experiences I'm now grateful for…1. Our green card is 18 months backed up.This has created questions of doubt and if our move is still the right decision. Maybe this is a sign to quit?We've reframed it: This is an opportunity to spend more time with our family and God is saving me from believing that my timeline is best.2. Saying goodbye to key team members.These setbacks really question your leadership abilities and if you have the emotional discipline to lead others. Maybe I should just settle?I've reframed it: As a leader, it's my job to give my team an opportunity to step up and grow and God is saving me from accepting toleration in my life.3. Dealing with $1M+ in departure tax.Leaving a country is like leaving an abusive relationship. You better be ready to pay a steep penalty. (A post for another day).I've reframed it: What a blessing that these are the types of 1st world problems I get to deal with and God called me out on feelings of unfairness, anger, and contempt.4. A dip in renewal rates.Mid year we switched up some of our deliverables that I thought would have been welcomed with praising arms. Nope! This resulted in losing some awesome members which really stung.I've reframed: I was reminded to not fix something that's not broken and God saved me from a spirit of lack and scarcity by continuing to provide and bring only more abundance into my life.5. Builders installing $120,000 worth of the wrong cabinets and holding us responsible.Although we found a resolution this led to my wife commanding, “Vince, you got to take care of this.”I've reframed it: This gave me the chance to step up for us and God reminded me that He gives me a spirit of power and control, not one of timidity!6. Not a single offer on our home in 4+ months.Pretty soon I'm going to be carrying two mortgages if we don't sell our home in Toronto.I've re-framed it: This is a reminder of how far I've come from, not being able to afford $300 a month of rent and God saving me from a mindset of self-reliance. Instead, I've had to pray louder and bigger than ever. God's demanding the glory!7.
