The American Junglist

This weeks guest is quickly becoming a staple in the global dance music community. It's people like him that keep the whole scene thriving. He has releases on a few labels here in the states as well as the UK, Spain and Belgium. My boy stays busy! Did I mention its also his birthday?! I first became aware of this weeks guest because of Rolled Up Records. Shout out to Tim & Aaron! He had a track on one of their V/A EP's and I wanted to  hear more so I checked Soundcloud. I was so into the style of DNB he was making that I messaged him.....I said something like "man if I ever get involved with a label, I'd really like to sign some of your music" That's was probably three years ago now? It turns out I did get involved with a label and as soon as I did, he was the first artist I signed. Berto is the best! I love his attitude and humility. He's got an awesome family, and now three years later, he's making some world class DNB. We are really lucky to have him on the show. Representing the Tampa Bay, please welcome HushBass. I feel so old when I talk about my childhood now. I guess its because i am haha. In the early 90's, Every corner shop in the city and every cool clothing store sold mixtapes by local DJ's. They all had a certain feel to them. Lots of crazy drops and tons of MC's. I loved those tapes! Shout to DJ Cash Money, Kid Capri, Dj Premier and so many more. This weeks guest wanted to re-create that vibe a little and put his Digital Konfusion stank on it. So he invited some of the best MC's in our culture to join him. Please welcome one of my favorite ravers and one of my favorite DJ's! The one and only DJ ODI....... & friends.......please also welcome Sofi Mari, Josiah Scribes, T.R.A.C., Mc Astro, MC Foxy, MC trigga and more. lets gooooooooo

I was on my way to a rave when a friend (Terran) messaged me and said "hey!, this person is gonna be at the same thing, you should meet them."  It was a weekend at one of the best raves I have been to in my life!!! If you get the chance to go to one of Recipe and U4ik's mansion raves, GO. Anyway, I met this weeks guest there. She is  in fact a vibe. We got to  mix a few times together throughout that weekend. She shreds. Representing Detroit Michigan, Please welcome Magick Traxx. Links below Please enjoy❤️ Back next week -Thomas Links: www.rebelnetwork.org www.soundcloud.com/magicktraxx

These days, it can be hard to keep up with new and upcoming artists in our music. A lot of people help me by recommending their friends and artists they're into. This weeks guest is one of those recommendations. After a listen, I liked him too. He is a California based producer and DJ with a unique "South Asian" vibe that I wish there were more of. His most recent release, the Shakti EP is a perfect example of the sound you can expect to hear. Representing the San Fancisco Bay Area, please welcome Dust Breaks. Links below and tracklist below. Our guest this week has quickly become an icon in our American community and with good reason. I first became aware of Conductor maybe two years ago? I didn't really know much about her or her family but kept seeing that name on the socials. It wasn't until I read an article on www.bestdrumandbass.com that I felt compelled to reach out and meet Mary and Violet. It was emotional....lol. Now, we talk pretty regularly and I just love those guys. Im pretty sure everyone does. In a sea of interesting people in our American DNB culture, this magical human still stands out. She is marketing director for Ohm Resistance, A&R for Hi-Fi Jungle, talent scout and A&R for Time Slip Recordings, repping 1200 hustle, Bass Attack, N.W.O, and she got one of the most FIRE

This weeks guest  has been a staple in my record bag since they started in 2020.  I'm a huge fan and getting a mix from them for the show is a highlight for us for sure. As much as I try to stay up on every DJ in every city, I just can't. My friend Brian at Everyday Junglist told me about this weeks guest last year sometime and I have been a fan since. I always look for the left of center, ruffneck, dark and funky warehouse vibes. As gloomy as that sounds, thats the shit I came up on and I just love it.  Representing Dark Room Atlanta and the Atlanta DJ Collective, please welcome Ash. Booking info below. I have known of this weeks guest for a long time now. I have purchased a few of his records over the years. I have known of this weeks  guest for a few years now. I didn't feel compelled to reach out to her until I learned that she once had her own public access television show in the 90's! I had to know more. I thought that was the coolest thing ever. It turns out, she is in fact awesome. Kathy is one of the pioneering figures of Texas drum & bass and underground electronic music culture. Based in Austin, she has spent more than three decades in the dance music community through music as a DJ, producer, promoter, and curator. In 1995, she launched the ambient radio show Rainbow Freestyle on KVRX 91.7 FM, and in 1996 founded Ambient Camping, the long-running outdoor electronic music gathering that has become a cornerstone of the Texas underground.  Representing Austin TX, please welcome The Reverend Kathy Russell Tracklist and links below.  Please enjoy❤️ Back next week -Thomas https://www.facebook.com/revkathyrussell https://www.instagram.com/revkathyr?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw== Tracklist: 10XX - The Unknown  1991,ROVA - Hijack Zombie Cats, Stonx - Unbelievable Document One - Spin Doctor Heights, Arcando, Kanine - Lost Tonight Form & Funktion - Work Work Soldat, Loboski, streetflicker - BUMP Reverend Kathy Russell - What's the Big Idea Grinder, MNTL - Western Molecular - Fair Warning RoVa - Octane Form & Funktion - Safari YASUKI - Think of You Modest Intentions - the Beyond Changing Faces - Do It All Again Lavance - Gangsta Fault Line - L-Side Minor Forms - Reinforce It Piraeus - ENERGY (I Feel) Smooth, Erb N Dub, Disaszt - Stop (Smooth Remix) Diode - Brain Tag Stonx, Kaizen Flow -Invasion Prolix, AL/SO, Skrimor - Baseline Shotta (Skrimor Remix) Grafix, Delta Heavy - Nocturnal Tengu - Get It All Reverend Kathy Russell - The Chug Grafix - Don't Slow Down Hologram - No Contest Diode - Respect (Feat J Augustus) Break - Overstayed Sub Focus - X-Ray (Metrik Remix) J Augustus, MC Astro - Snakes In The Grass (Reverend Kathy Russell Remix)

He is Co-founder of Hoodie Monks, Foundation.DNB, A Night of Drum & Bass (ANODNB), and resident DJ for Tuff Love Dubs/Force Recordings/Stepping Forward Records. Jason has been wrecking bassbins across the globe for 30 years. His turntablist style, born from hip-hop roots, has evolved into full-on tear-out madness. This weeks guest is another pioneer in American Bass music culture. I first became aware of him during the beginning days of the internet.  Through the Phunckateck Crew: As a co-founder of this seminal San Francisco collective in 1996, he worked alongside early US jungle pioneers to establish the West Coast D&B scene. The raves looked legendary and his sets and mixtapes from this period were some of my favorite. Over the years I have had the good fortune to see him live a few times now and he ALWAYS rinses the place. Ed continues to push boundaries in all aspects of dance music. He has worked with and put out records with some the biggest names in the underground. No need to name drop. There are too many anyway. This weeks guest has had a few exclusive mixes and this makes his firs episode of the podcast. Ryan is an East Coast underground rave LEGEND. He's been around forever! He's been throwing raves with some of the best crews in the game for over 25 years now. He owns what I think will soon be the best DNB label in the states ( I might be a little biased..I recently became his A&R)...lol. He also does graphics for a lot of rave crews around the country. If you have been raving for a minute, he proabably made the flyer for a few of the ones you attended. He's got a cool dog, he's a great friend, and his wife is pretty rad too! This weeks guest was recommended by more than a few people over the last few years. In that time, I have had the pleasure to meet the man himself and I think we DJ'd a house party somewhere? He's a sweetheart and a PROPER junglist. He got his start at 14 when he discovered turntables and beat machines for the first time. Already a musician playing keys, guitar, trombone, and vocals, he felt right at home behind the decks . Influenced by his Jamaican roots and fully hooked after hearing Roni Size & Reprazent's New Forms, he dove deep into Jungle, Drum & Bass. Now, all these years later, he's still at it and he's sicker than ever. Based in the Northeastern U.S., she's not just a DJ and producer — she's a movement. As Co-Owner and U.S. Manager of the influential DNB Girls Collective and owner of UNDRCRRNT Music, she  has carved her legacy through electrifying sets, deeply musical productions, and unwavering dedication to the culture. In a culture that isn't known for people of the highest character, it's always such a treat to meet some great humans that love this music too. He is a Tampa Bay–based DJ, promoter, and founder of Orion Records, known for pushing the underground drum & bass scene across Florida. As a driving force behind Orion Records' Drum & Bass Sessions, he has helped bring international talent and authentic DnB culture to local stages while supporting regional artists. I first met this weeks guest maybe two years ago? I didn't know he was a DJ at first. I found out that night when I saw him rinse the place. Over the last two years I have seen him progress quite a bit. Not only on the decks but in the studio too.  He has a plan and he is sticking to it. I love to see the hustle. Marco works his ass off. As much as I think I know about the people in our community, I am still often surprised to learn about DJ's that I should already know about. This weeks guest is one of these people. In fact it feels like I'm the only one that didn't know about this guy. He's damn good too. I see what all the fuss is about. Sorry I'm late guys. He's got a residency with 3D Productions in DC, He's on the Permagrin roster, and he's a lot of other DJ's favorite DJ. Representing central PA, please welcome Bennit. Links and tracklist below. While this weeks guest has been on the show quite a few times now (I checked, this makes  4!), he hasn't done an official episode of the podcast yet. We're excited to finally have him on for one. Brian brings a hybrid approach to his sets: part selector, part storyteller. You can catch him weekly on Twitch and regular appearances on the Timeless Live Mixes, Drum and Bass Proper and Joanna O's Frequency Broadcast. He has also been featured at parties for Bassbunny Productions, Deli Fresh, as well as Subjective ENT. I just love it when people throw parties with an aesthetic. The space itself is also a part of the experience. The art extends beyond the music and provides the raver with a night they won't soon forget. Rat Galactic throws a party like this called Refuge with some other talented humans and their attention to the little details is what makes it awesome in my opinion. Rat is a vital part of their dance music eco-system as a DJ too! Besides being resident at Refuge they also throw events under the name Galactic Sound & Magic; including an acid and electro party series called Nonplus. Deeply entrenched in the underground. One of the fun things about this show is zooming in on cities around the country and meeting the people behind the scenes that keep this music alive and relevant in their communities. Getting to celebrate the individuals that make our culture happen is rewarding af! Originally the JAXDNB mix series was going to be two weeks but after hearing about this weeks guest and learning how important he is to the local DNB scene, we had to include him. He's deeply involved in making JAXDNB happen and has been for a long time now. Chris is a selector and I love it when the DJ gets eclectic and digs deep in the crates to take the dancfloor on a journey.  Representing JAXDNB and Jacksonville Florida, please welcome XMSN. I try to learn as much as I can about each weeks guest to write their introduction. After speaking with his friends and seeing the warmth of his family I can confirm, everyone loves him! He's a damn sweetheart. While Brian raved in DC and Virginia for a period (I still can't believe we didn't meet each other when we were kids!), he's been a part of DNB communities all around the country. For the next few weeks we  will get to talk about Jacksonville Drum n Bass! It's hard not to say a lot because Jax has such a vibrant DNB culture going back over 25 years now. This weeks guest is one of the hardest working people in his city making the culture happen and has been for a long time. His crew (JAX DNB) is an institution not only in Florida but the East Coast and abroad. Their influence can not be overstated. He is a fan of this music, a producer, DJ, and  a promoter. He lives this music and people like him are part of the fabric of our American Junglist culture.  Representing Jacksonville, FL please welcome Reflections. Please enjoy❤️ Back next week -Thomas

For his second mix in this series, Jeff  recreates his winning set from the 2nd round of the Black Box Denver DNB battle.  "Leading up to this show someone had to drop off the lineup last minute, which gave each contestant 80 minutes. I was stoked to have double the length of the previous battle so I could go a bit deeper. This mix runs through all of the DNB and Jungle Flavors I love with plenty of twists and turns along the way. Much love out to The American Junglist for showcasing my 2025 battle mixes!"  Representing Denver Colorado, please welcome Borrowed Drums for part 2 of the Battle Within. Since the last time we had this weeks guest on, she's played some pretty stellar venues in some notable cities, she's done Bailey's show on Rinse FM, and she did a quick tour of the UK. In our culture here in America, and probably soon around the world, she is known a tastemaker. Everyone loves her too. She's cool af. He's back! Jeff has become a show favorite over the last year or so and we love having him on. This will be the first set of a 3 part series we will be hosting over the next few weeks. His set was recorded live at the Black Box in Denver Colorado. Here is the man himself to tell you about it in his own words. "This mix is my first winning battle set from 2025. Originally prepared as a one-hour journey, it was reworked into a 40-minute rollercoaster shortly before showtime, trimming the deeper sections to let the energy hit harder. This is a live recording from the soundboard at The Black Box with no cut-and-paste edits — mistakes and all. One audible gaff made it in, and I left it there as a reminder that anything can happen live, and the show must go on." Representing Denver Colorado, please welcome back Borrowed Drums. Links below. I met this weeks guest at a festival we were playing at last year. She had just finished her set and she was really excited! Her energy and enthusiasm were really cool. we swapped stickers and when I asked her name she said "everyone calls me "Ravemom" She's one of those awesome rave people that looks after her crew and keeps an eye out for everybody really. Her house, called "Kandi Land Underground" is INCREDIBLE. For people that love rave people and this culture, it's like a museum. Amy's house is my favorite spot in Orlando to play the afters at

This episode of the show makes #150 Holy cow! We'll call it the Christmas special

I first became aware of this weeks guest maybe a few years ago? I kept seeing this sticker people had. I kept asking them how they got it and how I could get one and it eventually led me to her. Then I discovered this powerhouse of West Coast DNB! From Production to DJ'ing, to writing for DNB Proper, She's a proper legend with too many crew affiliations to even list. Everyone loves her. Part of the magic of our community is that you  to get to meet really special people along the way. This weeks guest is one of them. In the short time I have known him, he's become one of my ride or die's. For those of you that know me, I don't take that shit lightly. The music we have planned for American DNB in 2026 will turn some heads at the very least. The time is now. As we get ready for JUNGLE BELLS 2025!!!! The first time I became aware of Nate( Souljunk), he was doing a dnb set at a waterpark and I remember thinking how awesome it would be to DJ at a waterpark and eat free hotdogs all day. That was 3 or 4 years ago now? The time is flying. Since then I talk to Nate pretty often and I've become a fan of his music and him as a human. He's a total vibe. The last time he was in Orlando I got to meet his friend Parker (Raydium) and can confirm, also a good human and a vibe when they came to play for Claudia and the Introspective crew. They tore the place to shreds,Intro was packed,  everyone had a wicked time! These two write music and DJ a lot together  now and I can see why. They sound amazing! Representing Nashville Tennessee, Please welcome Raydium & Souljunk

I first met this weeks guest at a festival last year. I thought he was pretty great DJ and we hit it off right away. I wouldn't find out for a few more months that he was also a talented MC. I have had the pleasure of having him grace the Mic for me more than a few times. He's even gone on the road with me when I play out of town. He's the best! I met this weeks guest over the summer after subscribing to his Youtube Channel a few years  ago now I think?  It's pretty fun to be out here and meeting passionate people that build platforms for the love of this music and our culture. He's been documenting South Florida DNB for a while. You can hear his hometown's influence in his mixtapes and we just love that shit! For this episode of Crook County, we roll up our windows and lock the doors. It's Halloween in the hood. Keep your hands and heads inside the ride. It's time to get spooky

I first became aware of this weeks guest maybe 3 years ago? I heard there was this guy playing festivals in central Florida and  he mixed like a maniac.....Like A.M.C (it turns out John is fucking bananas

This weeks guest is always super nice and fun to talk to. He has pretty great taste in music and he's also gaining a reputation as a talented song writer.(GWAN Ben!) I usually enjoy his mixtapes too.
