Health journalist Natalie Tysdal sits down with Tiffany Owen, mindset and fitness coach, author of Wounded to Warrior, and mother of four, to share powerful and practical wisdom on overcoming trauma, taking ownership of your life, and becoming the woman you're meant to be. Tiffany gets brutally honest about her battles with trauma, addiction, perfectionism, and people-pleasing—and the turning points that led to her complete transformation. Expect actionable tools, radical self-compassion, and bite-sized practices to help you reclaim your joy, health, and identity—no matter where you're starting from. 3 Must-Know Takeaways from This Episode 1. You Can Change—Even If You Don't “Feel Like It” Real transformation doesn't require overhauling your life overnight. It starts with one small step—one promise at a time—even (and especially) on the days you want to give up. 2. Victim Mindset Keeps You Stuck—Ownership Sets You Free Shifting from “Why me?” to “What did I learn, and what's possible now?” helps you reclaim your power, process pain, and move forward. 3. Rewrite Your Story Each Morning Tiffany's “declaration paragraph” exercise—a mix of journaling and affirmation—is a science-backed mindset tool that helps you speak to the woman you're becoming, not just the one you've been. In This Conversation, We Cover: What it really looks like to hit “rock bottom”—and how to rise again How trauma and people-pleasing can manifest as addiction or self-sabotage The critical difference between openness and resistance in healing Tiffany's go-to tools: power promises, non-negotiables, and morning routines Why reframing your “story” shifts your results in fitness, mindset, and mental health The role of physical movement and nutrition—and why they're not the whole story Free resources to jumpstart your mindset, hormones, and healthy routines Listen now and take the next step toward feeling your best. How much would you endure to save your life and your child's? Mary Lyn Hammer takes us on an extraordinary journey through the medical wilderness of Lyme disease, revealing the devastating reality of this widely misunderstood condition. After being bitten by a tick during a business conference, Mary Lynn spent six and a half years suffering through debilitating symptoms while doctors repeatedly missed her diagnosis. The disease struck during her pregnancy, passing to her unborn daughter and setting them both on a path of chronic illness. From extreme skier to someone who couldn't walk up stairs, Mary Lyn watched her vibrant life fade away despite visiting countless medical professionals. When finally diagnosed, she faced a treatment ordeal that would challenge the strongest spirit. With a six-figure medical debt accumulating and her daughter showing cognitive challenges, Mary Lyn refused to accept conventional wisdom about chronic Lyme. Her turning point came through discovering the role of biofilms in protecting the bacteria from treatment – a breakthrough that eventually led to complete recovery for both mother and daughter. The revelation that Lyme disease can be sexually transmitted and passed in utero reveals why entire families often suffer without understanding why. Through years of research and personal experimentation, Mary Lynn developed a comprehensive three-phase protocol that has condensed recovery time from years to just months. Her approach addresses not just the bacterial infection but the complex immune dysfunction and detoxification challenges that make Lyme so difficult to overcome.Today, Mary Lyn's daughter is 24, a college graduate thriving without limitations. Through her platform Champion for Life and her book "Over My Dead Body," Mary Lynn is bringing hope to countless sufferers who've been told their condition is untreatable or imaginary. If you or someone you love is battling unexplained chronic symptoms, her story might hold the answers you've been seeking.Join the What if it Did Work movement on FacebookGet the Book!www.omarmedrano.comwww.calendly.com/omarmedrano/15min

On this show:We reflected on how collective efforts can lead to enriched queer community within regional areas.Noted that the previous day had been International Day of Lesbian Visibility; and having unintentionally included some (probably also unintentional) exclusive language taken from a prime explanatory website, took some time to reflect on the intersectional gender nature of being a lesbian.Madison, Atlas and our guest Lunar shared their lived experiences of being queer folk with disability, living in a queerphobic and ableist society. Reflections includedhow being queer and disabled can be conjoined, and then judged, by ableist people.the hazards of queer disable persons internalising the judgements of others.how ableist behaviour is generally considered unacceptable, but yet it persists.visable and invisable disability, and how attitudes toward them can differ. How pride in oneself as a queer person with lived experience in disability actually adds to the inherent value we already have, as people who exist in the world.Lunar shared some of her poetry; The Battle Within, and Gaze in the Mirror. We ruminated a little on the expense of coffee under late stage capitalism (and why some spoons have holes in them).Community Links:TGD Bookclub, 10 May, 1 - 2:30pm, Free Event, Thorne Harbour Health Building 200 Hoddle St, Abbottsford; and online.Frooty Loops Meetup, 6 - 9pm, Every Second Sunday, Free Event, Little Foot Bar, 223 Barkly St, Footscray.Identity Test, A Trans Existential Drama and Caberet, at Butterfly Club, 5 Carson Place, Melbourne CBD. 7pm, 28th April to 3rd May; Tickets $39 standard, $35 concession.Queer Multicultural Carnival, 7th June, 10am - 6pm. The biggest battle we face is the war raging within. Today's episode of The Seven Figure Standard closely follows our last episode, ‘Going All In', as we examine our internal conflicts and how we can conquer them. We begin with the battle within and how the stories we tell ourselves shape our identity before moving on to getting rid of the stories that don't serve us. Then, we explore the role of self-awareness in quieting the two opposing voices in our heads, the dangers of holding onto bleak stories, why discipline matters, and everything you need to know to overcome an old story. We also discover where discipline fits in as you commit to new stories, why keeping a positive attitude will help you on your journey, how to surround yourself with the right people, and why you always need to ensure that your story is aligned with your goals. Dr. Gerry Crete helps us unravel the confusion within us, why we have such deep internal conflicts and tensions that pull us in different directions and tear at our hearts. St. Paul tells us in Romans 7:15, “I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.” What's up with that? Parts. Parts are up with that, that's what -- or who. And in this episode, Dr. Gerry and Bridget Adams shed so much light on our internal experience in our fallen human condition. Join us to learn about how parts, despite their good intentions and desires to help us, can generate impulses toward addictions and other problematic and even sinful behaviors. Learn how critical it is for parts to be integrated, to collaborate cooperatively with your inmost self, and most importantly, how parts can join in your loving God and neighbor with your whole heart in Dr. Gerry's experiential exercise.
