Sam Bankman-Fried BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Sam Bankman-Fried, the disgraced FTX founder currently serving a 25-year prison sentence, has been making headlines with his recent efforts to overturn his conviction and seek a presidential pardon. According to multiple crypto news outlets, SBF reactivated his social media accounts in late September 2025 after six months of silence, marking his first digital appearance since his incarceration began. The accounts, reportedly managed by friends while he posts content from prison, show the convicted fraudster attempting to rehabilitate his public image from behind bars.On the legal front, SBF's team is pursuing multiple avenues to challenge his November 2023 conviction on all seven counts of fraud and conspiracy. His legal representatives argue the trial was fundamentally unfair, citing judicial bias and suppressed evidence as grounds for appeal. This strategy mirrors efforts by other crypto defendants currently fighting their sentences, suggesting a broader push within the cryptocurrency industry to challenge regulatory actions.Perhaps most significantly, sources indicate that SBF's camp is actively lobbying for a presidential pardon from Donald Trump. This effort gained momentum following Trump's recent pardons of other high-profile crypto figures, including Binance's CZ, signaling potential openness to such requests. However, the White House has not commented on any formal pardon request from Bankman-Fried, leaving his prospects uncertain despite the apparent lobbying campaign. On the domestic front, SBF's mother, Barbara Fried, published a substantial 65-page essay defending her son, adding a personal dimension to his ongoing legal battles. The essay represents a rare public statement from his family during his incarceration. The broader context remains one of stunning financial devastation. Bankman-Fried was convicted of systematically stealing billions in customer funds from FTX to finance personal investments and luxury real estate. The judge who sentenced him characterized him as showing no remorse, and he was ordered to forfeit 11 billion dollars. His fall from grace is remarkable considering he was once celebrated as a crypto wunderkind worth an estimated 26 billion dollars and promoted effective altruism as his guiding philosophy. As of late November 2025, Bankman-Fried continues his federal prison sentence while pursuing legal remedies that could potentially reshape his circumstances. His reemergence on social media and intensified pardon lobbying suggest he remains determined to challenge the conviction that transformed him from billionaire philanthropist to convicted fraudster.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOtaThis content was created in partnership and with the help of Artificial Intelligence AI

Daniel's Prayer Was “seeking him {God} by prayer and pleas for mercy with fasting . . . ‘O Lord, the great and awesome God . . . we have sinned and done wrong'” MESSAGE SUMMARY: There are times when you need clarity, understanding, knowledge and insights from God about the specific issues that you, your family, your church, or your country are facing. In your personal relationship with God as a Jesus Follower, the Lord will speak to you; but sometimes it takes your listening and fasting to hear Him. For example, when Joel received a Word when the land was to be destroyed, he called a fast (i.e. Joel 1:14): “Consecrate a fast; call a solemn assembly. Gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land to the house of the LORD your God, and cry out to the LORD.”. Some things you are facing in your life must be dealt with by both prayer and fasting. Fasting releases a spiritual power – in your weakness, God is made strong in your life. Daniel's prayer, from Daniel 9:3-5, provides a context for asking direction from God: “Then I turned my face to the Lord God, seeking him by prayer and pleas for mercy with fasting and sackcloth and ashes. I prayed to the LORD my God and made confession, saying, ‘O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, we have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and rules.'". TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, Sabbath rest is truly an unbelievable gift! Thank you that there is nothing I can do to earn your love; it comes without any strings attached. As I close my eyes for these few minutes before you, all I can say is, thank you! In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 133). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM FORGIVEN. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Joel 1:13-16; Matthew 6:16; Daniel 9:3-7; Psalms138:1-8. In this eye-opening episode of The Clay Edwards Show, we dive deep into the frustrating saga of John Arthur Banks, a notorious downtown Jackson, Mississippi bum who's been terrorizing local businesses for over two decades. From my days owning nightclubs in downtown Jackson (2003-2011), I've seen this guy's harassment firsthand. Despite being arrested for burglarizing at least 15 businesses and pleading guilty SIX TIMES, Banks keeps getting released thanks to Hinds County's infamous "catch and release" program. He's free to strike again in a city fighting to recover from eight years under Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba's socialist policies. Jackson beat New York to electing a radical mayor—want proof of "communism done right"? Come tour Jacktown with me. We break down the shocking details from Jackson Jambalaya's latest exposé: Banks' criminal history spanning 2009-2024, lenient sentences from judges like Bill Gowan, William Kidd, Faye Peterson, Johnny McDaniels, and Damon Stevenson, and the DA's failures (shoutout to Jody Owens). Highlights include: 2009: Indicted for business burglary; pleaded guilty, full 5-year sentence suspended. 2017: Burglary at Jocko's Tacos; 7 years, 4 suspended (lived at Gateway Shelter). 2018: Burglary at Stanley's Wine and Liquor; 7 years, 3 suspended (concurrent with 2017). 2019: Burglary at Downtown Snack Shop; 7 years, 2 suspended + drug/alcohol treatment. 2020: Two counts for Greenbrook Flowers and Iron Horse Grill (2019 hits); 7 years, 2 suspended. 2022: Burglary at the Hood Building; 7 years, 2 suspended (no habitual offender enhancement). 2022 (again): 10 COUNTS including La Cazuela, Kiefer's, Shero's, Pizza and Daiquiri Shop, Steve's Deli, Mississippi Farmers Market, Downtown Drugstore, Pig and Pint, Finian's, and Tatum & Wade Law Firm—remanded as part of prior case. 2024: Capitol Police arrest for Downtown Drugstore, Native Coffee, and Lou's Restaurant (plus another); 1-year revocation, but paroled quickly. Indicted as habitual offender—trial set for July 2026. This guy's an economic terrorist, driving away customers and businesses. We also touch on recent closures: Arby's on High Street shutting down for good, plus PetSmart (I-55 North) and TJ Maxx (East County Line Road) relocating to Ridgeland's Highland Colony Parkway. Why? Crime and mismanagement—Jackson going full "Jackson." My raw, unfiltered reaction: No sympathy for these repeat offenders. I've dealt with them for years—most stories are lies, just excuses for dope. Police do their job, but prosecutors, judges, and MDOC keep releasing them. Businesses are fleeing—can you blame them? In 2016, attorneys representing Epstein's survivors brought what they described as extensive documentation and testimony to the Southern District of New York. They met with Amanda Kramer, then the top human trafficking prosecutor, and laid out evidence of a trafficking network that extended beyond what had been handled in Florida. Lawyers such as David Boies argued that the evidence clearly showed Epstein's continued criminal conduct and Maxwell's role, urging SDNY to act decisively. Survivors also lent their voices, recounting their experiences in hopes of finally seeing a meaningful federal investigation in New York.Despite these efforts, SDNY declined to pursue charges. Prosecutors reportedly reasoned that much of the material overlapped with what had already been covered by Epstein's controversial 2007 Florida non-prosecution agreement. Others inside the office were wary of reopening a case that had been deemed “resolved,” citing concerns about jurisdictional conflicts and political complications. Survivors and their attorneys left the meeting frustrated, believing the federal government had once again turned its back on credible evidence and missed an opportunity to intervene years before Epstein's 2019 arrest.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comSource:https://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/ny-jeffrey-epstein-maxwell-case-20201013-jmzhl7zdrzdgrbbs7yc6bfnszu-story.htmlBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

On August 20, Missouri changed its policies around placing inmates with HIV in solitary confinement. The change stems from a lawsuit filed by Honesty Bishop: In 2015, after she was the target of an attempted sexual assault by her cellmate in a Missouri prison, prison officials deemed Bishop “sexually active” and kept her in isolation for more than 2,000 days. Bishop took her own life before the suit could conclude. Her family took it over after her death. STLPR reporter Kavahn Mansouri and Marshall Project reporter Katie Moore share their insights from reporting on the case, including their interviews with Bishop's family and analysis of Missouri's prison policies.

This week, Scott sat down with his Lawfare colleagues Natalie Orpett, Kevin Frazier, and Tyler McBrien to talk through the week's big national security news stories, including:“Feeding Frenzy.” The crisis in Gaza has reached a new, desperate stage. Months of a near total blockade on humanitarian assistance has created an imminent risk, if not a reality, of mass starvation among Gazan civilians. And it finally has the world—including President Donald Trump—taking notice and putting pressure on the Israeli government to change tack, including by threatening to recognize a Palestinian state. Now the Israeli government appears to be giving an inch, allowing what experts maintain is the bare minimum level of aid necessary to avoid famine into the country and even pursuing a few (largely symbolic) airlifts, while allowing other states to do the same. But how meaningful is this shift? And what could it mean for the trajectory of the broader conflict?“Hey, It Beats an AI Inaction Plan.” After months of anticipation, the Trump administration finally released its “AI Action Plan” last week. And despite some serious reservations about its handling of “woke AI” and select other culture war issues, the plan has generally been met with cautious optimism. How should we feel about the AI Action Plan? And what does it tell us about the direction AI policy is headed?“Pleas and No Thank You.” Earlier this month, the D.C. Circuit upheld then-Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin's decision to nullify plea deals that several of the surviving 9/11 perpetrators had struck with those prosecuting them in the military commissions. How persuasive is the court's argument? And what does the decision mean for the future of the tribunals? In object lessons, Kevin highlighted a fascinating breakthrough from University of Texas engineers who developed over 1,500 AI-designed materials that can make buildings cooler and more energy efficient—an innovation that, coming from Texas, proves that necessity really is the mother of invention. Tyler took us on a wild ride into the world of Professional Bull Riders with a piece from The Baffler exploring the sport's current state and terrifying risks. Scott brought a sobering but essential read from the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace about how synthetic imagery and disinformation are shaping the Iran-Israel conflict. And Natalie recommended “Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead,” by Olga Tokarczuk, assuring us it's not nearly as murder-y as it sounds.Note: We will be on vacation next week but look forward to being back on August 13!To receive ad-free podcasts, become a Lawfare Material Supporter at www.patreon.com/lawfare. I tackle a topic that sparks a lot of debate: why do people who seem obviously guilty still enter a "not guilty" plea in court? After a recent conversation with a sharp, strong-willed friend who was baffled by this, I decided it's time to break down what really happens at an arraignment. I'll share why starting with a not guilty plea isn't about denying the facts, but about making sure everyone gets the full benefit of due process and constitutional rights. I'll explain how this plea allows me, as a defense attorney, to fully review the evidence, negotiate charges if necessary, and ensure that any decision is made knowingly and intelligently. If you've ever found yourself frustrated or confused by this part of the courtroom process—especially when you see it play out in high-profile cases—I'm here to unpack the real reasons behind it. Here are 3 key takeaways for anyone interested in justice and due process:A Not Guilty Plea Is About Process, Not Denial: Entering a not guilty plea at arraignment isn't a claim of innocence. It's an essential first step to protect a defendant's rights and ensure full discovery and review of evidence.“Guilty” Pleas Without Understanding Are Dangerous: Our system requires that a plea be made “knowingly, intelligently, and voluntarily.” Without complete discovery and legal counsel, it's impossible for anyone to meet that standard.Every Defendant Deserves Due Process: Sometimes the charges are overblown, the evidence is flawed, or constitutional rights may have been violated. Pleading not guilty gives defense (and prosecution) time to negotiate, review, and ensure fair outcomes, not just political theater.Got a question you want answered on the podcast? Financial Advisor Jayson Thornton, CFP -- REACTS -- Embattled Miami Gardens minister headed to jail for fraud. 49-year-old Eric Readon, who leads New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church, was originally charged with organized fraud, exploitation of the elderly, theft and grand theft. In 2017, retired postal worker Edward Fuller came to Local 10 News claiming the pastor had taken advantage of him while he was building a home to pass on to his children.Fuller said Readon offered to help secure a construction loan and convinced him to transfer part ownership of the home. Instead, Readon allegedly sold the property without Fuller's knowledge and kept the money.Fuller has since moved out of state to be closer to family.Readon was taken into custody Monday, not for the Fuller case, but due to a warrant related to a separate grand theft auto case that was recently reopened in Miami-Dade.He will be temporarily released to get his affairs in order and has agreed to turn himself in on July 15 to begin serving time in the Fuller case. Judge IGNORED Mom's Desperate Pleas - The Travis Decker Family Tragedy Episode Description: In this powerful episode of Hidden Killers, defense attorney and former prosecutor Eric Faddis joins Tony Brueski to dissect one of the most preventable family tragedies in recent memory. The Travis Decker case exposes the deadly consequences when judges dismiss a mother's desperate warnings about a dangerous father. Whitney Decker's pleas fell on deaf ears as the court granted her homeless, mentally ill ex-husband unsupervised access to their three daughters. Eric Faddis provides expert legal analysis on the "tremendous discretion" judges wield in family court, the outdated precedents that prioritize biological rights over child safety, and why there's virtually no accountability when judicial decisions turn deadly. We explore the red flags: Travis's PTSD and borderline personality disorder diagnoses, his refusal to take medication, taking the girls to a homeless shelter, and missing National Guard duties. This episode asks the hard questions: Why do courts lean so heavily on a 1970s study about parental rights? What can protective parents legally do when court orders endanger their children? How many more tragedies before the system changes? A crucial conversation about judicial reform, child protection, and the price of legal negligence. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM A CHILD OF GOD. Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His Name, He gave the right to become children of God-- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. John 1:12f SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Joel 1:13-16; Matthew 6:16; Daniel 9:3-7; Psalms138:1-8. A WORD FROM THE LORD WEBSITE: www.AWFTL.org. In this message, Jesus will issue two sobering warnings concerning the path to the Kingdom of Heaven: those who will seek to deceive us concerning salvation and that of our own self-deception. In doing so, we'll consider the implications of those warnings and find encouragement to remain steadfast on the path of Jesus and His righteousness that comes by grace through faith.
