In this part of our "IN THE FIRE" series through the book of Daniel, Pastor Greg finishes up Daniel 2, and encourages us that God has a plan, and that we can thrive and not just survive in the midst of this pandemic.

We are in the midst of a crisis with COVID-19. Our lives have been disrupted and things are not going the way we thought. The question is, Do you still trust that God is in control? Today, we learn about Daniel in the middle of his own crisis and how he trusted that God had it under control.

Our significance cannot only come from what we accomplish on this earth. The greatest significance that we can achieve is when we allow God to use us to impact others for eternity. God gave Jonah a second chance, and he made the most of that second chance as he affected a nation for God. Pastor Greg shares with us today how we can be used by God for great purposes and live a life of significance.

But we are talking about being a different kind of influencer. Are you ready to be an influencer for Jesus? Kayne West, who is one of our culture's most influential influencers, recently became a follower of Jesus and put out an album called “Jesus is King.” We celebrate that Kayne is sold out for Jesus and is now using his influence in this world for Jesus. As we celebrate, we must realize that we don't have to have a hit record or be a celebrity to be an influencer. Have you ever felt disappointed by God? Maybe you feel that God is not with you or has not met your expectations? We know you will be encouraged as Pastor Greg reminds us about the disappointment felt by the two disciples on the road to Emmaeus, and we discover how that disappointment turned to joy.

This is a great spiritual picture of how Jesus changes the direction of our lives. Once we discover His love and sacrifice on the Cross, we, through His power, change direction. He doesn't complain or argue or retaliate when the murderer Barrabas is released instead of Him. Why not? Because God so loved Barrabas that He would die for him so that even he could be forgiven. Pastor Greg takes us through this next section of Luke 23 as we get reminded that We are Barrabas.

There is nothing better than good news. It brings joy and happiness to those who share and to those who hear about it. As Christians, we have the greatest news available through the Gospel. Of course, we live in such a crazy, busy world, that we tend not to have time to share or we forget to share, or we are intimidated to share the good news with others. As we continue through the Gospel of Luke, Pastor Greg encourages us to respond to the call of Jesus to be busy about His Gospel until He returns.
