Understanding the Hadith of Jibril: Insights into Islam, Iman, and IhsanPraise be to Allah, and may peace and blessings be upon His Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The Hadith of Jibril (Gabriel) is one of the most profound teachings in Islam. It encapsulates the core aspects of the faith: Islam, Iman (faith), and Ihsan (excellence). This famous narration, recorded in Sahih Muslim, provides a comprehensive understanding of Islamic beliefs and practices. The Story of the HadithThe Hadith of Jibril is narrated by Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him). One day, a man in immaculate white clothes approached the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) while the companions were gathered. Without any signs of travel, he asked about Islam, Iman, and Ihsan. The Prophet answered, and the man confirmed each response. After the man left, the Prophet revealed that it was Jibril, who came to teach the companions their religion. (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 8a)1. Islam: The Five PillarsThe Prophet (peace be upon him) explained Islam through its five pillars:Testifying that there is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His Messenger.Establishing regular prayers.Paying Zakat (charity).Fasting during Ramadan.Performing Hajj (pilgrimage) if capable. These pillars form the foundation of a Muslim's practical obligations. (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 8a)Reference:"Certainly, Allah's only Way is Islam. Those who were given the Scripture did not dispute among themselves out of mutual envy until knowledge came to them. Whoever denies Allah's signs, then surely Allah is swift in reckoning." (Quran 3:19)2. Iman: The Six Articles of FaithThe Prophet defined Iman as believing in:Allah. His Angels. His Books. His Messengers. The Last Day.Divine Decree (Qadr), both good and evil. These beliefs form the spiritual and intellectual foundation of a Muslim. (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 8a)Reference:"The Messenger firmly believes in what has been revealed to him from his Lord, and so do the believers. They all believe in Allah, His angels, His Books, and His messengers. They proclaim, 'We make no distinction between any of His messengers.' And they say, 'We hear and obey. We seek Your forgiveness, our Lord! And to You alone is the final return.'" (Quran 2:285)3. Ihsan: Excellence in WorshipIhsan represents the highest level of faith, where a believer worships Allah as though they see Him, knowing that even if they do not see Him, He certainly sees them. This level emphasizes sincerity and devotion.Reference:"Establish prayer, and pay alms-tax. Whatever good you send forth for yourselves, you will certainly find its reward with Allah. Surely Allah is All-Seeing of what you do." (Quran 2:110)4. Signs of the HourJibril also questioned the Prophet about the signs of the Day of Judgment. The Prophet mentioned signs such as:The slave woman giving birth to her mistress. The barefooted shepherds competing in constructing tall buildings. These predictions signify social and moral transformations that will precede the Day of Judgment.Reference:"Indeed, Allah alone has the knowledge of the Hour. He sends down the rain, and knows what is in the wombs. No soul knows what it will earn for tomorrow, and no soul knows in what land it will die. Surely Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware." (Quran 31:34)Final ThoughtsThe Hadith of Jibril serves as a cornerstone for Islamic learning. It reminds Muslims to adhere to the pillars of Islam, strengthen their faith, and strive for Ihsan in all actions. May Allah guide us in understanding and practicing our religion sincerely.May peace and blessings be upon Prophet Muhammad and all his companions. Ameen.

Kris quickly leads us into the essence of Theology: by asking such questions as: What is the nature of God? If there is a God - or Gods - does it provide an answer to the question - What is the meaning and purpose of my life? What is our relationship - as human beings - to God? If there is a God, what relationship should we have with each other? ...and what relationship should we have with animals and with Nature? If there is an ideal, ethical way to behave, what happens if we fall short? ....and what has God got to do with that? What is the relevance of God to the end of this individual earthly existence which each one of us faces? And then there is the Epicurian paradox: "If God is All Knowing, All Powerful, and Good - then how can suffering, let alone Evil be allowed to exist? Why are we even talking about God? ...Or Godness? Contrary to many Faith traditions that provide answers to such theological questions, with certainty and conviction, Kris's Unitarian approach is more nuanced. And he leaves us with a challenge for the week. Do listen on!

Here is another one, who are what holds the place of highest priority in your life? I venture to say that most folks don't like strict rules and regulations governing their lives. August 15, 2024 Today's Reading: Luke 1:39-45, 46-55Daily Lectionary: 2 Samuel 5:1-25; 1 Corinthians 8:1-13He has helped His servant Israel, in remembrance of His mercy (Luke 1:54) In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. Have you ever considered the memory of God? He was before there was time. He literally created everything that is in this world. He is All-Knowing. He, well, knows every moment of sin, pain, and suffering that His creation has caused and endured. He watched the perfection break. Sin grieves our Lord. And yet, before the moment that Adam and Eve sinned, God had a plan to redeem His people. God promised a Savior Who would pay for the sins of the whole world; in every moment of sin and brokenness, God chooses to forget it. Instead, our Lord remembers His promise to be merciful and give forgiveness. The Old Testament includes a lot of accounts of sinners sinning and God remaining faithful. There is a continuous cycle of warning, sin, hurt, repentance, and forgiveness. The Old Testament is pointing sinners to the Promised One— He is coming! There will be a child born of a virgin! He will pay for the sins of the whole world! God is faithful and merciful. In today's reading, Mary is singing about the amazing miracle that she has experienced. The angel of God came to HER and declared that she will carry Jesus, the Savior of the Nations! She visits her cousin Elizabeth; baby John, still in Elizabeth's belly, knew Who was growing within Mary. There is great rejoicing! Mary sings a song of praise. In this song, she witnesses to what she knows about God and about God's character. And she, like others who had read and knew the Scriptures, trusted that God is merciful. God does keep His promises! God is patient with His people and remembers them with mercy. We, too, have a very similar pattern as those in the Old Testament— we know God's Law, we sin anyway, we suffer hurt and pain, we are called to repentance, and we are forgiven. We, like Mary, sing God's Word in faith; we come to the Divine Service, we receive absolution, we hear God's Word preached, and we eat His Body and Blood. We, too, rejoice that God's memory is merciful; He remembers His people and always keeps His promises. Today, we rejoice with Mary, the Mother of our Lord. We, like her, are reminded of God's faithfulness and mercy. We, too, give thanks that God does not remember our sin but remembers His mercy. We, too, receive His Gifts of forgiveness, life, and salvation. In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.O sing of Christ, whose birth made known The kindness of the Lord, Eternal Word made flesh and bone So we could be restored. Upon our frail humanity God's finger chose to trace The fullness of His deity, The icon of His grace. (LSB 362:1) -Deac. Sarah Longmire, Bible study editor for Higher Things.Audio Reflections Speaker: Pastor Jonathan Lackey is the pastor at Grace Lutheran Church, Vine Grove, Ky.The Lutheran Confessions play a vital role in the church—both centuries ago, and today. He quotes, summarizes, and synthesizes key teachings from the Confessions, revealing their relevance in the daily lives of ordinary people.

The Chris Voss Show Podcast - Whispers, Sinners, and Saints by Nancy Heart https://amzn.to/4cvcR5L Whispers, Sinners, and Saints is a multigenerational story of heartbreak, horror, trauma, abuse—and perseverance. At the center are Anna, born in New York in 1959, and her mother, Ann, a Hungarian woman who immigrated to the US in 1957. Ann was twelve when the Nazis ordered the slum where she'd grown up to be the designated ghetto for all Jews. During that year, most of Ann's family would disappear or be killed. Her means of survival became the streets, where she removed clothing from corpses and snatched items left behind by those taken to concentration camps. Young Ann witnessed murders, torture, and persecution. After Anna was born, Mother Ann shared the atrocities she'd endured by physically beating them into her daughter. Ann swore to make her child “pay for all the wrongs done to me in life,” while Anna promised to “grow up and never be like my mother.” Miraculously, at five months old, baby Anna found enduring salvation through an omniscient connection, All Knowing. Yet, Anna craved a human saint to save her. But who? And where would they come from? Whispers, Sinners, and Saints is a raw and gripping true story of survival and resilience. About the author Nancy's recipe for happiness is to share ideas and deep thoughts and avoid wasting time in superficial conversations and gossip. She has traveled six out of the seven continents. Having grown up in Manhattan and South Florida, she is a xenophile—preferring exposure to various cultures of the world over sand and sun. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Miami, studied Art Appreciation in Europe, attended the Fashion Institute of Technology, studied Kabbalah and Buddhism, and traveled the perimeters of the United States. Nancy's philosophy is: “One who laughs loudest, masters pain the best.” Pain offers the opportunity to discover one's true self and greatest strengths. Nancy now lives in Colorado. She is an ambivert, and when not writing with her Maltese-poodle “Cookie-Cake” by her side, she enjoys urban hikes, mahjong, scrabble, reiki as a master, and meditation. Above all else, Nancy appreciates quality time with friends and her adult children.

Chapter 9 - Grim DefeatQ1 - Should the students be sent home after Sirius Black got in the castle?“Have you any theories as to how he got in, Professor?” asked Snape. Harry raised his head very slightly off his arm to free his other ear. “Many, Severus, each of them as unlikely as the next.”Q2 - How do you think Sirius got in the castle?Harry knew she was deeply interested in the Gryffindor team's prospects.Q3 - Is it alarming that McGonnagal chooses Madam Hooch to oversee the practices?“You are easily satisfied. Lupin is hardy over-taxing you — I would expect first-years to be able to deal with Red Caps and Grindylows. Today we shall discuss — werewolves.”Q4 - If you had to fight a werewolf, how do you think you'd defeat it?“This is the second time you have spoken out of turn, miss Granger,” said Snape coolly. “Five more points from Gryffindor for being an insufferable know-it-all.”Q5 - Why is Snape so mean?“Not Harry, not Harry, please not Harry!” “Stand aside, you silly girl…stand aside, now…” “Not Harry, please no, take me, kill me instead—”Q6 - What is this that Harry heard during the dementor attack?Q7 - Do you think Harry will be a bad seeker now he doesn't have a good broom?Chapter 10 - The Marauder's MapMadam Pomfrey insisted on keeping Harry in the hospital wing for the rest of the weekend. He didn't argue or complain, but he wouldn't let her throw away the shattered remains of his Nimbus Two Thousand. He knew he was being stupid, knew that the Nimbus was beyond repair, but Harry couldn't help it; he felt as though he'd lost one of his best friends.Q1 - Is Harry being extreme by saying he'd lost one of his friends?Ron finally cracked, flinging a large, slippery crocodile heart at Malfoy, which hit him in the face and caused Snape to take fifty points from Gryffindor.Q2 - 50!?“The dementors affect you worse than the others because there are horrors in your past that the others don't have.”...”Dementors are among the foulest creatures that walk this earth. They infest the darkest, filthiest places, they glory in decay and despair, they drain peace, hope and happiness out of the air around them. Even muggles feel their presence, though they can't see them. Get too near a Dementor and every good feeling, every happy memory, will be sucked out of you. If it can, the Dementor will feed on you long enough to reduce you to something like itself — soulless and evil. You'll be left with nothing but the worst experiences of your life. And the worst that has happened to you, Harry, is enough to make anyone fall off their broom. You have nothing to feel ashamed of.”Q3 - What are your thoughts on Dementors and the Azkaban Prison?“This little beauty's taught us more than all the teachers in the school.”Q4 - Where do you think the map came from?Q5 - Is Harry irresponsible for going to Hogsmeade?Q6 - What is apparition?“Never saw one without the other, did you? The number of times I had them in here — ooh, they used to make me laugh. Quite the double act, Sirius Black and James Potter!”Q7 - Does James and Sirius being best friends make Sirius that much worse for going to the dark side?“An immensely complex spell,” he said squeakily, “involving the magical concealment of a secret inside a single, living soul. The information is hidden inside the chosen person, or Secret-Keeper, and is henceforth impossible to find – unless, of course, the Secret-Keeper chooses to divulge it.”Q8 - What do you think about Sirius being Harry's godfather?Q9 - What do you think of the Fidelius Charm?“You know most of the prisoners in there sit muttering to themselves in the dark, there's no sense in them…but I was shocked at how normal Black seemed. He spoke quite rationally to me. It was unnerving. You'd have thought he was merely bored…Yes, I was astounded at how little effect the Dementors seemed to be having on him.”Q10 - What do you think about Peter Pettigrew?Q11 - How do you feel after hearing this story?Chapter 11 - The FireboltHe stopped on a picture of his parents' wedding day. There was his father waving up at him, beaming, the untidy black hair Harry had inherited standing up in all directions. There was his mother, alight with happiness, arm in arm with his dad. And there…that must be him. Their best man…Harry had never given him a thought before.A hatred such as he had never known before was coursing through Harry like poison. Q1 - How do you feel after letting it stew, that Harry is the godson of Sirius Black?Harry looked at them. They didn't seem to understand at all. “D'you know what I see and hear every time a dementor gets too near me?' Ron and Hermione shook their heads, looking apprehensive. 'I can hear my mum screaming and pleading with Voldemort. And if you'd heard your mum screaming like that, just about to be killed, you wouldn't forget it in a hurry. And if you found out someone who was supposed to be a friend of hers betrayed her and sent Voldemort after her —”Q2 - What would you say to Harry in this moment?“Hey, Harry —” Ron gave a great whoop of laughter, “Malfoy! Wait till he sees you on this! He'll be sick as a pig! This is an international-standard broom, this is!”Q3 - Do you think Sneakoscopes can gauge animal mischief?Q4 - Why are Ron and Hermione staying for Christmas holidays?“Certainly I knew, Minerva,” she said quietly. “But one does not parade the fact that one is All-Knowing. I frequently act as though I am not possessed of the Inner Eye, so as not to make others nervous.” “That explains a great deal,” said Professor McGonagall tartly.Q5 - Who sent Harry the firebolt?Chapter 12 - The PatronusHarry knew Hermione had meant well, but that didn't stop him being angry with her.PREDICTION #11 - Short lifelines for Harry's palm.Q1 - Why is Lupin always sick?“The Patronus is a kind of positive force, a projection of the very thing that the Dementor feeds upon — hope, happiness, the desire to survive — but it cannot feel despair, as real humans can, so the Dementors can't hurt it.”Q2 - Which memory would you pick to cast your patronus?“I heard my dad,” Harry mumbled. “That's the first time I've heard him — he tried to take on Voldemort himself, to give my mum time to run for it…”“Professor Lupin?” he said. “If you knew my dad, you must've known Sirius Black as well.” Lupin turned very quickly. “What gives you that idea?” he said sharply. “Nothing — I mean, I just knew they were friends at Hogwarts, too…” Lupins face relaxed. “Yes, I knew him,” he said shortly. “Or I thought I did.”Q3 - Do you think Lupin and Sirius Black are working together in any way?“They clamp their jaws upon the mouth of the victim and — suck out his soul.” Harry accidentally spat out a bit of butterbeer. “What — they kill —?” “Oh, no,” said Lupin. “Much worse than that. You can exist without your soul, you know, as long as your brain and heart are still working. But you'll have no sense of self any more, no memory, no … anything. There is no chance of recovery. You'll just — exist. As an empty shell. And your soul is gone for ever…lost.”Q4 - What are your thoughts on the Dementor's kiss?Harry sat stunned for a moment at the idea of someone having their soul sucked out through their mouth. But then he thought of Black. “He deserves it,” he said suddenly. “You think so?” said Lupin lightly. “Do you really think anyone deserves that?”Q5 - Do you think anyone deserves the Dementor's kiss?DRINK FOR SCABBERS!Q6 - Do you think Hermione was right to tattle about the broom?Chapter 13 - Gryffindor Versus Ravenclaw“He bit Goyle for us once!” Ron said miserably. “Remember, Harry?” “Yeah, that's true,” said Harry. “His finest hour,” said Fred.Q1 - Would you like to play Quidditch?Q2 - How incompetent is Madam Hooch? She smiled at Harry as the teams faced each other behind their captains, and he felt a slight jolt in the region of his stomach that he didn't think had anything to do with nerves.Q3 - How would you coach quidditch to make sure your team won? To have one's name written in the “Lamb's Book of Life” outweighs anything that holds any temporal value in this world and its fleeting vanities and carnal enticements. It is an eternal reality that strengthens the heart of a child of God with equipping power to face all of the obstacles, trials, and difficulties that are coming against us in this critical hour in the earth, and which are accelerating as the Prophetic Word of Truth unfolds before our very eyes. There are eight references in the New Testament to the “book of life,” and two of them refer specifically to the book of life that belongs to the Lamb of God, Jesus the Christ. In this Podcast, we will cover all eight, as well as, delving into the Doctrine of Predestination which while being disputed by some, is clearly confirmed in the Holy and inerrant Scriptures of the Bible. We will find that when looking to God's Word line upon line, precept upon precept, a little here and a little there, the doctrine of Predestination becomes very understandable without compromising the free will of man, or in any way presenting the Lord God as being unfair. Welcome to The Nonlinear Library, where we use Text-to-Speech software to convert the best writing from the Rationalist and EA communities into audio. This is: Ways in which I'm not living up to my EA values, published by Joris P on March 18, 2024 on The Effective Altruism Forum. This is a Draft Amnesty Week draft. It may not be polished, up to my usual standards, fully thought through, or fully fact-checked. When I was pretty new to EA, I was way too optimistic about how Wise and Optimized and Ethical and All-Knowing experienced EAs would be. I thought Open Phil would have some magic spreadsheets with the answers to all questions in the universe I thought that, surely, experienced EAs had for 99% figured out what they thought was the biggest problem in the world I imagined all EAs to have optimized almost everything, and to basically endorse all their decisions: their giving practices, their work-life balance, the way they talked about EA to others, etc. I've now been around the community for a few years. I'm still really grateful for and excited about EA ideas, and I love being around the people inspired by EA ideas (I even work on growing our community!). However, I now also realize that today, I am far from how Wise and Optimized and Ethical and All-Knowing Joris-from-4-years-ago expected future Joris and his peers to be. There's two things that caused me to not live up to those ideals: I was naive about how Wise and Optimized and Ethical and All-Knowing someone could realistically be There's good things I could reasonably do or should have reasonably done in the past 4 years To make this concrete, I wanted to share some ways in which I think I'm not living up to my EA values or expectations from a few years ago. I think Joris-from-4-years-ago would've found this list helpful.[1] I'm still not fully vegan Donating: I just default to the community norm of donating 10%, without having thought about it hard I haven't engaged for more than 30 minutes with arguments around e.g. patient philanthropy I left my GWWC donations to literally the last day of the year and didn't spend more than one hour on deciding where to donate I have a lot less certainty over the actual positive impact of the programs we run than I expected when I started this job I'm still as bad at math as I was in uni, meaning my botecs are just not that great It's so, so much harder than I expected to account for counterfactuals and to find things you can measure that are robustly good I still find it really hard to pitch EA I hope this inspires some people (especially those who I (and others) might look up to) to share how they're not perfect. What are some ways in which you're not living up to your values, or to what you-from-the-past maybe expected you would be doing by now? ^ I'll leave it up to you whether these fall in category 1 (basically unattainable) or 2 (attainable). I also do not intend to turn this into a discussion of what things EAs "should" do, which things are actually robustly good, etc. Thanks for listening. In 2015, Anthony Levandowski, a former Google and Uber engineer, drafted the bylaws for a new church called “Way of the Future.” According to its website, “Way of the Future” or WOTF is about “creating a peaceful and respectful transition of who is in charge of the planet from people to people + ‘machines. WOTF Church activities will focus on the worship of a Godhead based on artificial intelligence (AI) developed through computer hardware and software.” EQAs technology advances, many believe AI will surpass human intelligence. But God's Prophetic Word of Truth makes certain that it is the Lord God Almighty Who alone is Lord over all, and He has everything in control. He alone is All Knowing and Perfect in all His ways. He alone is God!He is, however, allowing the enemy to have his day for a short period of time, as all things fall right into place according to God's Prophetic Calendar which was verified and sealed by the Holy Spirit before the earth was formed. In this Podcast, we focus on AI which will most likely be one of the primary tools of the enemy that will give his Antichrist the global control God's Word reveals he will wield over all people of earth for the seven-year Tribulation Period, with Love's invitation for those who have “ears to hear” to run into Salvation's Safety Net while there is yet time!
Winter --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/schattenwelten/message
The Conditional Promises of GodOne familiar “if / then” passage, often called the “believer's bar of soap,” is found in the first chapter of the first letter of John. In it, we find one “if” condition and two implied “then” promises God grants to those who meet His one “if” condition. And the two promises of God encompass the totality of salvation this side of heaven, both our justification and our sanctification. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness – 1 John 1:9What Does it Say?Let's see exactly what it says.If (the condition, something we must do in order to receive the promise) we (this includes you and me, make it personal, put your name here) confess (homologous – to admit, concede, to affirm or agree) our (it is inclusive, everyone has something to confess to a holy God) sins (hamartía – offense, wrongdoing, failure, fault, it is an act or feeling that transgresses something forbidden or ignores something required by God's law, whether in thought, feeling, speech, or action. Literally, it means to miss the mark or the true end and purpose of our lives, which is God. And note, the word is plural, as in more than one sin),This is the condition prescribed by God. It is something we must do, a non-negotiable, if we want to receive the promise that comes from meeting the condition. And, by His grace, it is something we can do.Next, the Spirit, through John, lists only two of God's infinite attributes as proof of the truth of His promise: faithful and just.He (God, the Sovereign One, Eternal, All-Powerful, All-Knowing, Always-Present, Creator of All, of which there is no One higher, no One more glorious, no One more beautiful or of greater worth, and there is no more lofty goal in which to devote one's life than to have a deep, intimate, relationship with Him) is (His current attributes) faithful (pistós – worthy of belief, trust, or confidence, sure, steadfast, of true fidelity) and (of all God's immeasurable attributes, the Spirit, through John, lists only these two, as if they are enough, already more than we can handle) just (díkaios – righteous, correct, perfect, upright in everything, without error, free from favoritism, self-interest, bias, or deception)And now, after stating His conditions and His attributes, the Spirit reveals the two promises or results we can rest assured of after we meet the conditions. Note, because He is “faithful and just” and does not show favoritism or bias, these promises are for everyone, including you, who “confess” their sins, no matter how great those sins may be, how unworthy you may feel, or how many times you have tried and failed in the past. To Him, it doesn't matter— every day is a new beginning.First Promise: Forgiveness (Justification)to forgive (aphíēmi – to send forth or away, to stop blaming or taking an offense into account, to leave, release, let go, dismiss. God, in effect, chooses, based on our confession, to send our sins and the consequences of them away from Himself and us, to no longer blame us for our offenses, to release, let go, and dismiss the consequences of our sins as if they never happened. We are now free from their condemnation, guilt, and shame – see Romans 8:33-34) us our (again, inclusive, which means you and me. Make it personal, put your name here) sins (plural, the sins...
Emmanuel ("God with us") was the title given to Jesus at His birth. And if you and I were to truly embrace the earth-shattering truth that the All-Knowing, All-Powerful, Ever-Present God of the Universe is with us, and for us... what difference might that make in our day-to-day lives? I believe it could change everything! Join us this Christmas Eve as we explore some fascinating implications from the classic carol: O Come, O Come, Emmanuel.
Dear listeners, we are in sura 12 Joseph Yousif يوسف verses 22- 35. This section starts with God telling us an important life lesson ; = those that do good : are rewarded with good judgment ,wisdom + knowledge. Joseph has reached manhood and he is very good looking. He is being tested in his honor . The wife of the finance minister is trying to seduce him and she has power, riches, high status and people who support her in her wrongdoing. On the other hand Joseph is alone , mature ,poor / a slave , and locked in a room with her. but he still refuses her. His heart is filled with God's love , he runs to the door. And guess what the shirt is a symbol that shows his innocences , it's torn from the back a sign that he was running away from her and did not try to rape her. But she tries again this time with all the gossiping women supporting her. After they are surprised by his good looks , they cut their hands instead of the fruit in their hands and don't blame her. She orders him to listen to her or he will be degraded and put in prison. Joseph can't take it anymore, living in her house is agony and prays that God puts him in jail. and guess what; they know he is innocent but for things to settle down they put him in jail and forget him for a long time. However, this seems like another ( deep well) deep problem Joseph is in and God removes him to another part for him to learn. And saved him from their treachery . So maybe when your in a deep problem and it gets even worse maybe that change is another lesson to teach you something . Remember; God is the All Hearing the All Knowing. Sometimes looking at your problems from a different perspective, asking different questions can give you a clear answer.

On this episode of Noorayn: The Two Lights Podcast, Aseel and Sumayyah discuss a fundamental concept in Islam. They speak of Allah as the All Knowing, All Wise, and they emphasize the idea that we as servants of God do not have any control over the manner in which our lives play out. Allah SWT holds the ultimate control, as He is the One Who knows what is good for us in a given moment. Aseel and Sumayyah highlight the fact that as humans, we must recognize that we only have a semblance of control, and that we should ultimately rely on Allah's perfect knowledge and wisdom.

Meeting someone of great power can be cause for excitement. For example, meeting with the president of a company you wish to work at, or meeting someone famous for the first time, or meeting with the bishop or the Holy Father may all cause a certain excitement. But it could also cause a certain fear and anxiety. Of course the most important and “influential” person you will ever meet is your God. God is Omnipotent and Omniscient, that is, All-Powerful and All-Knowing. He is also All-Loving and, in that perfect love, descends from His throne of grace and majesty to converse with you, to care for you, and to fulfill every need that you have. He comes to fill you with the abundance of joy. Each “meeting” with our Lord must be one of great excitement in that it must be taken seriously, with attention and love being offered back to this most important Person you will ever come to know (See Diary #885).What is your interior experience when you go to Him in prayer? Is it an encounter in which you are overly casual and unprepared? Is it an encounter that gives you fear and anxiety, looking for ways to avoid Him? Or do you allow yourself to be comforted and consoled by the fact that the God of the Universe cares for you enough to step down from His throne of grace and converse with you in your weakness and sin? The Lord's perfect humility should delight and amaze you and give you courage to turn to Him with your whole heart.Lord, I am amazed at Your love for me. You who are the God of the Universe come to me in my weakness and sin. You are attentive to me and offer the perfect care of a loving Father. Help me to always be in awe of the humility You manifest as You descend from Your throne of grace and enter my soul. Jesus, I trust in You. Many reasons justify the belief that Islam is the religion of God and that the Holy Quran is the true word of God. If you are still unsure of it, you should investigate the evidence that points to Islam as the true faith and that the Holy Quran is the true Speech of God. Let's quickly go over a few of these:Many proofs exist to support the fact that Islam is the true religion of God. Among the many proofs of Islam's truthfulness is the fact that it is the only religion whose message and teachings have been preserved and never tampered with nor changed over time. As for Christianity and other religions, their original Revelation and teachings have not been preserved for our perusal. If you look at Christianity, for instance, since Jesus Christ and the disciples spoke Aramaic, Jesus Christ's Message and teachings must have been conveyed in that language. Today, we do not have copies of Jesus Christ's teachings available in the language he taught them. Amongst the many proofs of Islam's truthfulness is that Islam speaks to the predisposition and innate belief God has placed in the hearts of every human. Take the concept of God, for instance. The idea of God is simple, understandable, and not as complex as it is in other religions. Islam teaches the existence of only One Supreme Being, who is All-Mighty, All-Powerful, All-Knowing, All-Seeing, and Most-Merciful, and who created the entire universe and everything in it. All other beings are creations of God and not the actual Creator. If more than one God existed, there would befall a chaos of gods fighting each other for control. If the gods did not fight each other for power and control, then they would be considered dependent on and submissive to each other—in other words, not gods at all. Among the many proofs of Islam's truthfulness stands the idea that salvation makes common sense and applies true justice. Islam states that salvation is based on believing in your Creator, intentions, actions, and repentance. No other religion supports the belief in rational and logical concepts like Islam's concept of God; thus, the ideas of His Prophets, salvation, and the Hereafter appeal to everyone! Islam says that every man is responsible for his actions, sins, and salvation; no one will bear the effects of anyone else's sins, as Christianity believes, which is unjust! God, who owns everything, does not need to sacrifice his supposed son to forgive humanity's sins! Moreover, salvation is not based on one's native ethnicity and civilization, over which people have no control, as Jews believe. Where is the fairness, logic, and justice in that? Islam's concept of the Hereafter makes total sense and applies full justice in its scope. Islam states that there is a life after this one, where everyone will be judged based on how they lived. Everyone will get what they deserve on Judgment Day, be it a reward or a punishment. In this world, evil people may live decent lives and go unpunished for their wrongdoing, while sometimes good people who believe in God and do good deeds live difficult lives. On Judgment Day, justice will be applied. Among the many proofs of Islam's existence is how its teachings guide you to achieving goodness. Other religions teach you to refrain from stealing and cheating, but their teachings are not practical. In contrast, Islam's teachings are very practical and provide solutions for all problems and aspects of life. Islam offers many resolutions, like the solution to poverty. The faith contains a system known as Zakat, which requires everyone with more than a certain amount of money and assets to give the poor 2.5% of their wealth annually. If everyone followed this system worldwide, no one would die from hunger, and poverty would perish!
“Allah commands you regarding your children: the share of the male will be twice that of the female. If you leave only two or more females, their share is two-thirds of the estate. But if there is only one female, her share will be one-half. Each parent is entitled to one-sixth if you leave offspring. But if you are childless and your parents are the only heirs, then your mother will receive one-third. But if you leave siblings, then your mother will receive one-sixth—after the fulfilment of bequests and debts. Be fair to your parents and children, as you do not fully know who is more beneficial to you. This is an obligation from Allah. Surely Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise” (Quran 4:11)Islam is more than a religion; it is a way of life that guides humanity in all aspects of their lives, including providing guidance on inheritance. Islamic law allows a person to leave one-third of their assets to whomever they wish, as long as the beneficiaries are not amongst the remaining two third. The will is implied after the deceased's funeral expenses and outstanding debts are paid. The remainder two-thirds goes to the beneficiaries listed in Chapter 4 of the Holy Quran—a passage that some non-Muslims find controversial. Whereas Chapter 4 states that the share of a male is twice that of a female, females do not always receive less than males in all circumstances. There are certain instances where both male and female beneficiaries receive the same amount, where women receive more than male and scenarios where females get a share and men get nothing. In many religions, women do not inherit from their families in any circumstance. At many points throughout history, women did not inherit anything from their families. They were considered property, part of the inheritance estate needing to be married off and relocated. On the other hand, Islam gave women their inheritance rights, stating that their reasonability determines their share--and not their gender. In some circumstances, females inherit half of what males inherit—but not on all occasions. There is logic and fairness to reinforce those instances in which males get a higher inheritance share than females—with these conditions given to us by our Creator, the All-Knowing, All-Wise, the All-Just. Because Islam has assigned males as the heads of the household, those who bear the family's financial burden, the men will often spend much of what they inherit back into the family. On the other hand, females are entitled to the entirety of their inheritance and wealth--and their husband's wealth. Women can keep 100% of their inheritance without spending or sharing it with anyone--even if they are wealthy and their husband is poverty-stricken. God has chosen men to be the guardian of their wives and family, whom they must look after and to whom they must provide food, clothing, shelter, etc. The man must care for and provide for those closest to him. For instance, a husband needs to look after his wife and offspring; if he passes away or neglects his duty, the next man in a woman's life will need to step up and care for the family, whether it's the adult son or the brother of the woman. It's important to stress once again that the reasonability of the sexes determines the share of an inheritance, not the gender. As a clarifying example, suppose the parents of a son and daughter die, leaving fifteen thousand dollars behind. The daughter would inherit five thousand dollars by edict of Muslim law, and the son would inherit ten thousand dollars. However, if she is unmarried, the brother would have to share the $10,000 with his family, including his wife, children, and even his sister.
A common misconception regarding Islam is that if someone leaves the religion of Islam, an Islamic State will punish them with death. This is simply not true. People always have the option to cease believing in and worshipping Allah in a Muslim land without being punished. Many people who left the religion of Islam in Muslim-dominated countries did so without being harmed. And many places of worship of other faiths can be found in Islamic countries today and in the past. "And say, O Prophet, 'This is the truth from your Lord. Whoever wills let them believe, and whoever wills let them disbelieve..." (Quran 18:29) Islam clearly states that there is no compulsion regarding religion; therefore, an Islamic State cannot force anyone to convert to the Islamic faith or remain Muslim. The Holy Quran states:"Let there be no compulsion in religion, for the truth stands out clearly from falsehood. So whoever renounces false gods and believes in Allah has certainly grasped the firmest, unfailing hand-hold. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing" (Quran 2:256)It's essential to stress that the act of leaving the Islamic faith is not the same as committing the act of apostasy in Islam. Whereas Islam does state that the punishment for apostasy is death, this penalty is assigned only to a particular type of apostasy: and one does not suffer this penalty simply because they left the fold of Islam. The act of apostasy, the commission of which can sentence an apostate to death, is given to those living in an Islamic land that publicly announces their apostasy, convincing others to leave Islam, the religion of God. It's for those who call others to a new faith, misguiding people and leading them to hellfire, thus also leading to a great fitnah, trial, and tribulation for others. The rights of an individual do not trump the rights of society. Islam does not tolerate the commission of any corruption in its society and has rules to protect the community from harm and disunity--and from those that cause doubt and uncertainty in the hearts of believers. Calling people to leave Islam can cause people to commit crimes prohibited in Islam, such as drinking alcohol, drugs, fornication, and other harmful acts to individuals and society. Apostacy, in short, is seen as a form of treason against the state. The Islamic penal system aims to preserve five essential elements: life, intellect, family, property, and religion. To this end, Islam has implemented strict rules to live by through its religion and the prescription of the punishment for apostasy for the safety of society. Only an Islamic state can implement the punishment of apostasy; citizens cannot be vigilantes and take the law into their own hands. The crime must be done intentionally and implicitly, and not ambiguously. At the time of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, apostates did exist, but Prophet Muhammad PBUH and the Muslims never executed any of them. Rarely have apostasy laws ever been implemented at all throughout history. The apostasy law is not unique to Islam; it also exists in Christianity and Judaism. A ruler in an Islamic State can elect to give the apostate a different sentence, such as a prison sentence. The apostate has the right to a court hearing and gets a three-day waiting period. He is allowed time to reflect on the situation, clear misconceptions, and repent. Those who assist the enemy of an Islamic State in battle are likewise subject to the death penalty. This is known as treason, and many nations today punish spies and anyone who plots to harm their own nation by way of their treason laws.
We cannot come to know God in His essence. He is beyond us and is unfathomable. But we can get to know God by seeing His actions in our lives and in the world. Look at His attributes. Look at His works. Look at what He has done in your life and in the lives of others. He is Omnipotent, All-Knowing, All-Loving and bestows all that is good in superabundance (See Diary #30).Reflect, today, upon the unfathomable nature and essence of God. Knowing that we can never fully comprehend the perfection of God is the first step in coming to know Him more intimately. Humble yourself, this day, before the great mystery of our God and let His untouchable nature touch you in your heart.Lord, You and Your ways are beyond me. Yet in the mystery of Your divine presence I come to know You. Help me Lord, as I ponder Your divine essence, to be drawn into a deeper love of You. Jesus, I trust in You. The Problem Everybody wants to be a thought leader. They want to be seen as forward thinking, they want to be celebrated as the Guru, the expert, the All Knowing one in their industry, they want to be the keynote speaker, the bestselling author, the person listed in the next 10, marketers to watch in 2002 by Forbes, most of which are paid placements. Because now that the world has gotten exposed to the power of digital attention, and everyone believes the most valuable thing you could possibly have is an audience. Well, everybody wants one for themselves. Unfortunately, as we wrote about in our mini book, The Me Disease, the vast majority of people who want to be a thought leader, or bestselling author in today's digital gamified world, don't have any leading thoughts. That is to say, they're not actually contributing new differentiated ideas. What they want is to be seen as a thought leader, to collect badges of approval, and amass followers, and social metrics that send the signal that lots of other people say they are important, without having to say anything unique or meaningful, or different. More importantly, they want the audience without having to take the time to think deeply about who they are creating for and why they want the outcome without the process. Content-Free Content Since this has become such a desirable goal, there are now strategies for shortcutting your way to instant status gratification. The key is to cater to the lowest common denominator. The way the business world has been educated on how to become an overnight thought leader is to create content that doesn't threaten, doesn't challenge, and doesn't require the audience to think, as loud and as often as possible. This strategy caters to lazy button smashing consumers. We call this Content-free Content. It gets likes and views, and it lands you some followers. But after you the consumer, eat it, you sort of feel like a box full of Oreos. Zero nutritional value full of empty calories, and left feeling stupid. The Content Pyramid Ask yourself: do you want acceptance, or do you want to make a difference? If you want to be a legendary writer, creator, entrepreneur, executive or industry thought leader, you need to be honest with yourself about a how you measure success and be what category you're going to play in. Also, when you create you are creating something for someone. Anyone who says “Yeah, well I just want to create for myself” is a beginner and hasn't gotten far enough down the road to realize they aren't who matter: the reader, the listener, the viewer is who matters.
