The kraken a legendary sea monster of gigantic size, born in Scandinavian folklore.   According to the sailors of yesteryear, the kraken dwells off the coasts of Norway and Greenland and now SEATTLE terrorizing nearby sailors and soon skaters.   In 2021 The National Hockey League will enter Washington state for the first time with the birth of the mighty Seattle Kraken.   The team is built by legendary player/general manager Ron Francis and begins play this October in the pacific division.   They will have a chance to further grow the legend of the mighty kraken with a decent team built off the backs of other NHL teams.   Tonight we talk all things Kraken and hockey in this edition of Hockey Chirps with Those Canadian Lads with  @elindsay08 Erica Ayala of Locked On Kraken a podcast dedicated to everything Kraken.   So let's get Kraken!   Welcome to Episode 38

The Battle of Alberta is upon us once more and to celebrate, Those Canadian Lads have invited Calgary Flames fan Kyle Lewis @vanlewis14 (Twitter) to defend his beloved franchise.    The boys talk about some of the struggles that the Flames organization is going through and whether that problem lies with the coaching or players on the ice. One thing Oilers and Flames fans can agree with is how irritating Eric Francis truly is. We wrap up the hockey conversation by discussing our fondest Flames memory.   Those Canadian Lads wrap up the podcast talking about Alberta reopening up slowly from Covid and discuss the spin around the hotel program currently being enforced for Canadians returning home via flight. Is it a government mess up or a diabolical plot to steal your possessions and touch your naughty bits....? you be the judge. Except its government idiocy.... there, I said it. 

On this episode of Those Canadian Lads, the boys discuss the changes in a Covid world and what the future may hold for us.    Brad and Geoff give their thoughts on recent events including the Canadian government voting to acknowledge China's treatment of their Muslim population as genocide, the anti-mask (white nationalist) rally in Edmonton and how the Oilers have fared as of late.    While discussing the topic of the day Geoff gets a little heated in regards to government response of any crisis and his general belief that the government is inept. Brad touches on his thoughts about how the children will come out in the end and the changes he's seen in his own family. Today on Those Canadian Lads, Brad and Geoff discuss some examples of where crazy conspiracy theories have come true and if these stories sound so insane, why can't other wild stories also be proven true. Without any scientific knowledge, the boys then dissect why we believe some of these stories to be true before they can be proven.    Brad talks about a twitter dust up he had when someone took a swing at a veteran who lost their eye in combat and why people feel they need to ridicule others on-line behind the safety of a keyboard. To end things on a positive note, Those Canadian Lads talk about some positive examples of people overcoming adversity to succeed in life and how quickly it can all go away, right Jared Porter? 

Brad and Geoff take a break from the UFO talk to sit down with local teacher Edmund Vale. Edz enlightens Those Canadian Lads on the challenges of teaching during COVID, how the school system is providing resources to aid with children's mental health and how kids in Nirvana t-shirts are just posers.
