Yesterday was an exciting day for Oil Country with the news that Leon Draisaitl was staying. The Edmonton Oilers superstar forward signed a new 8-year extension with an average annual value of $14 million, making him the highest paid player in the NHL. It was the final deal the Oilers needed to get done this summer so now the focus turns to training camp. With the news Tyson Barrie was signing a professional tryout with the Calgary Flames, after being linked with a rumoured return back to Edmonton, who should the Oilers look to target for camp? There's been speculation on Justin Schultz and Kevin Shattenkirk but do they need to bring in a right handed defenceman or should they look somewhere else? You can leave your questions, comments and concerns in the Greta Bar YEG YouTube live chat throughout the program. Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin strongly encourage you to interact with them and the other Nation Citizens in the YouTube live chat. Later in the show, Tyler and Liam will give Ryan Nugent-Hopkins his player grade for the regular season and playoffs. Nugent-Hopkins took a step back after a 100 point season but still managed to score close to 70 points in 80 games. In the post season, the Nuge was close to a point per game player, which was a big reason why Edmonton made the Stanley Cup Final.

Locked On Predators - Daily Podcast On The Nashville Predators
The Nashville Predators return to the ice Saturday night to kick off an important finals stretch of games in the 2023-2024 season. While the Predators could potentially get into the playoffs with a hot run in the last 31 games, there are three goals that the team needs to focus on off the ice to set up for long term success. On today's Locked On Predators we discuss why moving defenseman Tyson Barrie has to be at the top of the list before the end of the season. Barrie is well respected and well liked but doesn't seem to be the right fit for the team moving forward. We'll tell you why it is so important to make a deal for the defenseman sooner rather than later. One of the biggest challenges in the final stretch of the season will be deciding who the Predators' permanent pieces should be going forward. A rocky season for some players may have Barry Trotz reevaluating who will be a part of the reset moving forward and who may not. Finally, we talk about the one thing the Predators need to do now to be set up for success in two or three seasons.Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…
