Could this be Lizz's final episode before baby? Things are starting to look like they could be happening any day now. She shares the latest on the newest St. John family member and how she's getting through these final weeks. Let's just say she is ready for baby #3 and completely over being pregnant! Kelly is continuing her "Best Summer Ever" and getting ready for two nights of ice cream socials. It's the start of a very busy week that ends with her traveling to Kentucky to see her next car roll off the production line. Oh, and she explains why she is taking pictures of all her meals—and it has nothing to do with social media. Got a good show Lizz should watch? She's getting her maternity leave watch list ready, and Kelly has one suggestion that scratches the DWTS itch. It's not the only help she plans to give her sister once the baby arrives; she has a whole plan for being the best sister ever over the next few weeks. Then it is time for a chat with Vanessa Wilkin from Enterprise. They were a major part of the Car Mom Auto Show this year and it's the perfect partnership! They talk about how many families forget that you don't have to buy a car based around a once or twice a year trip, you can always rent one! Plus, the importance of checking to see if you have the right rental reimbursement

Hey babes! This episode is a little different—and honestly, a little vulnerable. I'm pulling back the curtain on a big decision I've made for this summer: I'm taking a semi-sabbatical.Not because I'm burned out. Not because I don't love my business. And definitely not because I'm quitting coaching. In fact, this whole process has made one thing crystal clear: I absolutely LOVE coaching women and helping them lose weight for the last time. But somewhere along the way, I realized that even though I left corporate America to create more freedom, I had slowly become an employee in my own business. My schedule wasn't changing for summer. My priorities weren't changing for summer. And that's when I knew something needed to shift. In this episode, I'm sharing why I'm slowing down, what I'm learning about ambition, motherhood, self-care, and what it really means to create a life you actually want to live. We talk about overworking, people-pleasing, parenting, entrepreneurship, family systems, and how to stop building a life you need a vacation from.If you've been feeling stretched too thin, pulled in a million directions, or wondering what YOU actually want, this conversation is for you.Listen in to hear:- Why I'm taking a semi-sabbatical this summer- The wake-up call that made me realize my life needed to change- How I became an employee inside my own business- Why slowing down feels wildly uncomfortable (and why I'm doing it anyway)- The difference between working in your family and working on your family- How to create your own "Summer Of..." theme and use it to guide decisions- Why you can have it all—but you can't do it all- The question every woman should be asking herself: What do I actually want?- How I'm redefining success, ambition, motherhood, and freedomAnd if you want support creating your own Best Summer Ever while still making progress toward a big goal, come join us inside Best Summer Ever! We're kicking off July 6 and running through August 31 with Voxer coaching, coaching calls, co-working sessions, accountability, and all the support you need to create something incredible while becoming obsessed with your actual life.Grab your spot here:https://portal.lauraconley.com/best-summer-ever-2026Or send me a DM on Instagram and I'll point you in the right direction.I love you all. Summer is almost here — and if we’re honest, it’s a little bit of everything. Slower mornings and pool days on one hand, no schedule and sweaty chaos on the other. In this episode, Kate and Rebecca kick off the Gather Moms Summer Series by talking about what actually makes or breaks a mom’s summer — and how to set yourself up for a season you’ll actually enjoy. In This Episode We’re breaking down 5 ways moms accidentally ruin their own summer (relatable, we promise) — and flipping each one into a practical mindset shift that leads to a cooler, calmer, more present summer for you and your family. 5 Ways to Have a Miserable Summer (Don’t Do These) Plan every second — Over-scheduling leads to burnout and missed moments. The pressure to create “the best summer ever” can cause moms to plan the magic right out of it. Scroll through everyone else’s summer — Social media becomes a highlight reel of perfect vacations and picture-perfect kids. Comparison is the thief of July. Let every day be a total free-for-all — Zero routine leads to overwhelm for moms and kids. No structure = everyone spiraling by 10am. Never say no to a single invitation — Summer fills up fast with BBQs, playdates, camps, and family gatherings. People-pleasing your way through the season is a fast track to exhaustion. Do it all yourself — The invisible mental load of summer — the planning, the entertaining, the refereeing — without help or margin leads straight to mom burnout. 5 Ways to Keep Your Cool This Summer Plan the anchors, not every hour — Pick 2-3 anchor moments each week and let the rest breathe. The best memories usually happen in the margins. Curate your feed or put the phone down — Someone else’s beach vacation isn’t a grade on your summer. Your kids will remember your presence, not your Pinterest board. Keep a loose rhythm, not a rigid schedule — Same wake time, quiet time, and basic flow gives both kids and moms the predictability they need. Structure isn’t the enemy of fun — it’s what makes fun sustainable. Learn your “yes” limit and protect it — A rested mom is a present mom. Give yourself permission to protect a few slow days this summer. Delegate, involve, and let go of the standard — Get your kids involved in the planning, lunches, and cleanup. Ask for help. Summer was never meant to be a solo performance. A Note for Your Soul The slower pace of summer is actually an invitation. It’s a chance to spend more time with God — in prayer, in the Word, in stillness. Don’t miss it. Be sure to check out our Summer in the Psalms series for a simple, beautiful way to stay rooted this season. Next Week on Gather MomsWe’re talking about the Moms of Summer — the pool mom, the home mom, the zoo mom, the teacher mom. Which one are you? Alycia Anderson welcomes Lawrence Carter-Long, Director of Engagement at ReelAbilities International, onto Pushing Forward with Alycia to discuss how disability narratives in media shape public understanding, possibility, and policy. Lawrence shares his background growing up with cerebral palsy, being a 1970s “poster child,” and how that early exposure taught him the power of media and communication. He explains ReelAbilities as a disability-forward film festival and year-round platform where “film is the front door” to community, conversation, and cultural change, emphasizing accessibility through open captions and audio description. They discuss moving beyond “tragic or heroic” tropes by elevating authentic stories and changing who writes, produces, directs, and greenlights projects, citing work like Best Summer Ever and Out of My Mind. Lawrence also describes the festival dates, sample programs, affiliate festivals, and his mantra: “go through the doors that open.” Rewriting the Narrative: Core Themes from Episode 136

In this eye-opening message, we expose five subtle lies we often believe about rest, productivity, and identity that quietly erode our souls and keep us from receiving the gift of Sabbath. Based on Jesus' parable in Luke 14, this episode invites us to slow down, lay down pride and performance, and embrace a rhythm of replenishment that aligns with God's heart. Whether you're stuck in hustle mode, struggling to find peace, or simply feeling worn out, this message offers truth, challenge, and hope. Sabbath isn't a luxury—it's a lifeline.
In this message from our Best Summer Ever series, Pastor Jericho Toilolo shares how Summer Is For Healing—not just vacations and barbecues, but true, soul-deep restoration. Drawing from Luke 14:1-6 and rooted in the rhythms of Sabbath, this sermon explores how rest is not a luxury but a necessity for our physical, emotional, and spiritual health.

In this message, Pastor Dave Pretlove explores Jesus' healing of the bent-over woman in Luke 13:10–17 and reclaims Sabbath as more than rest—it's a declaration of freedom. From Deuteronomy 5 to the ministry of Jesus, Sabbath becomes a sacred space where we're invited to stop striving, resist what controls us, and receive soul-deep healing. Whether you're tired, hurried, or holding onto disappointment, this sermon offers a timely invitation: to let Sabbath ground you in the Gospel and point you toward the final freedom only Christ can give.

In this kickoff message to Best Summer Ever, Pastor Dave Pretlove challenges us to rethink how we view children—not as a distraction from the mission, but as the mission itself. Drawing from Mark 10, Matthew 18, and other key passages, this sermon unpacks the sacred opportunity we have to shape young hearts during their most formative years. If what happens early echoes for a lifetime, then how we invest in the next generation today matters more than ever. This is a call to legacy, to purpose, and to the kind of faith that makes room for the next generation.
Are you heading into summer with a plan—or just hoping for the best? Show notes: https://www.tamihackbarth.com/blog/episode-227 May was a LOT. I am so happy to be heading into the summer season to make some memories, finish some projects, read a lot and spend time with my family. Around here we call this season the Summer of Intentionality. I learned about it from my pal Rosie Molinary. Rosie met a boy at a college party who could recite long poems from memory. She was impressed and asked him how he was able to do it. His answer is what became the SOI. I tell more of the story on this week's podcast along with things that are saving my life this season.
