Jesus shines brighter….Today was a great day!!! So thankful for the positive report of grace and respect at Annual Conference yesterday, and the worship and Word that followed. Folks, Christ is coming! May he find us hospitable, and with faith in Him, no matter the cost. A special word on the end of service hymn. “Fairest Lord Jesus” still slaps! Folks, the Holy Spirit doesn't just bless, He also reminds us of what Jesus said (John 14:25-27). Reminders that don't come without a plan. Make a plan daily to remember what he said, commit yo it, and you will be better for it! Don't be afraid! You won't lose peace in Christ when you make (and stick with!) a plan, you will gain it (cf 1 Samuel 16:11-13). It's ok if your starting just now on a plan to remember what Jesus taught, the Lord doesn't operate on a time cap! Thanks be to God! Planning and waiting are not easy. That's why it raises eye brows when scripture says “Christ  has been waiting  until  his enemies would be made a footstool for his feet.””‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭13‬, but also plans to put His law in the hearts and minds of His people(cf Hebrews 10:16). Folks, the Risen Christ has made such an impact on our lives that he asks only one thing about others that we worry about: “What is that to you? You follow me.”- John 21:22. That's what we mean we say “On the Third day He rose from the dead.” May we commit all we worry about to the Risen Christ, whose reign will have no end!! Folks, Christ has done whatever can be done about your problem. Holy Saturday is the proof! As we will explore next week, what Wesley called “The devil's citadel” was destroyed not only by death, but an empty  Tomb. Christ is for sinners and able to save! “Suffered Under Pontus Pilate” is not a dream, it's hope. Because even in our fear, shame, and indifference to Christ, He is able to give power to overcome our fear, restores our honor, and makes a difference for us. Who is Jesus? It's a 2,000 year old question that despite our best efforts to answer, no answer compares with Peter's “You are the Christ, the Son of the Most High.” May the Christ who is our Lord, King  and Messiah be your answer this week in all things! Have a good one!

There are some wild ideas about who God is in our world right now. The Apostles Creed was written to guard the beauty, serious, and scriptural  traits of who God is. Like and share! Shoutout to Pastor Marc Donaldson at Marvin and JD Walt for sharing this last week at Core worship. - God created, therefore he wants us to enjoy what he created. - God is Almighty because we don't deserve ANYTHING, but He gives us life anyway (cf John 1:3). - God is the Father because the Bible reveals Himself to be and people have experienced such. Any experience of God starts with His Word.

Elect through your choices to declare the light of God in Jesus Christ! We set up the important sermon series today on the Creeds of our faith. “The Creed is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire.'  paraphrase of Beate Fricke. May His fire be present in the coming weeks…. 

Folks, Christ died to draw all people to Himself. However, all people does not mean all beliefs about God are valid. For the practicing Christian, Scripture matters. Read it, pray over it, and practice it in a loving way but also with integrity! Be clear! Have a blessed day! 

Today was a great day of worship! Communion is a command and vital means of grace  from Christ Himself that is critical for our church to consider in a time of prayer for the future in our denomination. What is Communion? Who is invited? The answers to both questions are life giving worship that can only come from Christ himself! Have a blessed day! 

The Means of Grace: Prayer. Ephesians 1:17/Matthew 6:9. Today was a great day of worship!! A serious, consistent prayer life that is  multiple  and seeks to know and be more like Christ is vital for our church right now. This is an important listen that we hope you will be a part! Thanks!!!

“Hold fast to your confession  without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”-Hebrews 10:23. A great Sunday with a hopeful theme! Culture can change, but “the hope of glory” in Colossae was believers in Christ kept changing into His image,  and didn't change with the culture, and at the same time weren't hateful about it. May our church be the same! 

Is the Kingdom of God like a field trip? Where you can come and go as you please? Or is it a sign off on specific terms that must be followed when you commit to Christ? May we follow Christs terms of holiness and grace today! Have a good one! #NoholidayswhenfollowingChrist 

What a day!! I had no idea the church was planning a lunch for me after finishing ACOS classes!!! Thanks so much Troup Methodist for your poise and faithfulness to Christ the last few years!!! Trust Jesus folks, be poised, His grace will give us strength “to trust Him more!”

Worship!!!!!Faith is not comprehensive, it's unfinished and can only be completeby Christ. Start with a verse in the Bible and go from there! Remember, believers who love Christ are struggling just like we are. Have a blessed Fathers Day!!!

It was a great day of worship for Pentecost! Our last hymn was almost a declaration, “Are we yet alive?” The answer in Troup UMC  is a resounding yes!!! May our reason be Christ, and our response be His grace this week (Titus 3:3-7!) A great day of worship! Folks, your actions for Jesus Christ are NEVER a solo enterprise! What you do does have an impact on others and your faith! Think before you act, be smart, and when you do, may your theme be “more love to thee O  Christ!!” Have a blessed day! 

A wonderful  Senior Sunday as we worshipped Christ and honored the Troup senior class! One teaching of the Holy Spirit matters above all the others! Listen carefully to His reminders this week. Thankful for a day of worship at Troup Methodist! Folks, Christ has been pushed passed his comfort zone (Romans 5:8) , and does not negotiate a believers devotion to Him. May we be His slaves (John 13:4) and all in (John 13:14) for his glory this week! Put on Christ, one is never wrong when they do so! 

Today was a great day!!! So grateful for what God is doing to form faith in Christ at Troup Methodist! Remember, people are the most important thing in the Christian life! Seek them, and you will find the life God intends for you. Have a blessed day! 

Such a glorious day! Remember, testify the Risen Jesus this week! It's the only way the church has grown through one tragedy after another over a 2,000 year period! 

Great worship!!!! I have to say, this Pastor REALLY appreciated “And Can it Be That I Should Gain” was sung for the final hymn today (at the end of the podcast) , with a 1st chorus refrain at the end ACAPELLA! I almost went to heaven on that note! Christ has Rescued us from the power of darkness, and is our past, present, and future! Have a blessed day! 

Christian's don't wear Noah's Arks around their necks on necklaces. We are Christians because we believe death didn't hold Jesus in the grave “For it was impossible for Him to be held by it.”- Acts 2:24. How can we be sure? Why is the Bible sure this event happened? Folks, Christ is not a conditional God , He is the only condition whatever our circumstances might be! On this 5th Sunday of Lent: We reflect on why Jesus is superior to all things we have gained, and why His inspiration is the cause of  many historical events! Sin is not only outright evil, it's also apathetic! Sin doesn't care precisely when we should! All the more reason the Father forgiving the Prodigal son after the son repented  for “wild living” and wishing his Father's death (Luke 15:12-13), is Holy grace of the first order. Gods grace does not condone sin, it does change you! Because of the cross of Jesus, Sin is no longer necessary! May you “wear His ring” today!! Have a good one! Cf Luke 15:22 #Holiness #Grace 

Glory to God! A great day at Troup UMC! Congrats to the Halladays for the Baptism of Baby Cager. God Has sent His Gardner Jesus  Christ to tend our every need, including cutting off branches we think we need yet in the long run only lead to death. That takes a patient God! On the first Sunday of Lent, we explored confessing Christ and believing Christ. His terms are far better to live by then yours or mine!! On another note:  It was  a good morning of worship!!! Old Rugged Cross and Reckless Love sounded great! Remember to like and share, have a good week!!!
