A world first youth sport podcast episode with 3 teens, 2 girls and 1 boy. It is always adults who tell us what kids & Teens want in sport, but how about speaking to them directly and listen to what they have to say. In this episode, I have found 2 amazing 15 & 16 year old girls from here in Adelaide, Australia and a 16 year old boy from New Jersey, USA. We are kicking off with Brandon Shintani, Brandon is a student at Ridgewood High School, in New Jersey and is the Sports and Wellness Columnist for his high school paper and much more. After Brandon, I like to introduce you to Lucy Benn. Lucy is in year 11 and we will discuss her findings in her SACE project. She asks, “What are the psychological reasons girls leave sport?” My last teen age guest is Emily Gail, it is an old recording never released, but it is perfect for this episode. Emily was 15 when I spoke to her, and she refereed U18 boys' soccer. She also plays soccer and Futsal. She is now 18 and I have seen her referee seniors, she still plays both soccer and Futsal. If you are a girl aspiring to play a sport, or you are a parent with a girl who wants to play sport, this is a brilliant ending to this episode. So, sit down grab a coffee, enjoy, and learn something new starting with Brandon, Overview: 75:30 min episode 01:40 Brief intro of the 3 teens 03:15 Brandon Shintani's brief background 04:45 Welcoming Brandon and he talks about when he started and what he is doing. 08:15 Brandon “Honestly I only played sport to have fun and make friends” He also said he have friends playing on a very high level. 12:20 How is Brandon's parents supporting him in sport, but he also had support outside his family. 15:45 Major injury stopped his sport at 15-Where is support now when motivation was so hard to find? 23:00 Some great mindful advice from Brandon and final thoughts 28:50 Wrapping up with Brandon 29:55 Introducing Lucy and she talks about her start in sport around 2-3 years of age playing with her older brothers
Is she ya girl? After Brandon was exposed to an ad telling them someone was ‘ya girl,' it got us thinking… at what point does someone become ‘ya girl'? You might invite ‘ya girl' to brunch, but does a brunch invite ‘ya girl' make? ‘Ya girl'… it's very, like, ‘hey girl!' Y'know? Ya girl. All of this is to say, on this week's episode we compile a definitive list of ‘ya girls.' Carrie Bickmore. Chrissie Swan. John Farnham. Belle Gibson. Nigella Lawson (friend of the pod, better known as Nige-Nige.) Who else is ya girl? Don't tell us, we'll tell you. Also on this week's episode: “We deserve a Magarey medal.” “Strawberry liquorice is the white chocolate of the liquorice world.” “There's three and a half people working at Centrelink and you think they've got the brainpower to put appetite suppressant in the vaccine? Skinny.” “You know what Seafood Extender is? It's just crab and extension cord.” “We're referring to two different stories where I had odd interactions with people with dogs.” “Fair Work retire bitch.”
After Brandon decided to *insert wacky plot device to say Brandon couldn't be on this week here*, Chris and Stefan decided to take a break from franchises and spent this week talking about two films from one of the best directors working today: Paul Thomas Anderson! They talk about the turn of the decade and how it impacts 1997's Boogie Nights and 2014's Inherent Vice, PT Anderson's style over the years, Chris' theory about Inherent Vice, Josh Brolin deep-throating a chocolate covered banana, and the death of Prince Philip! All good things in the opinions of these two! *** Below, we've included links to support Mi'kmaq Treaty Rights and Livelihood Fisheries, Black Lives Matter (BLM), and Fightback. He shares how he recently helped one couple address a very common worry: Running out of money. When you hear their story and why that fear became so urgent for them, you’ll better understand why Brandon takes so much care, concern and pride in helping people like you retire as confidently as possible.
[18+] After Brandon expresses missing a man in his bed, his girlfriend Naedean gets an idea how to help. Today's story is “Missed Feelings” by TJ Minde, a Leo Literary Award Winner who's been published in FANG, Heat, and a number of other anthologies in the fandom. His story first appeared in Armoured Fox Press' “Foxers or Beariefs” anthology, available now. Read for you by Khaki, your faithful fireside companion.

We have 5 different tiers that we sort all the defensemen in the entire franchise into based on where we see them projecting within the next 3-5 years (Lajoie, Thomson, JBD and Brannstrom are most controversial debates) and its the fourth edition of SensCentral Citizen, today we welcomed @LalimesMartian onto the show and got his best Sens memories and thoughts on forgiving Dany Heatley. After Brandon runs down a list of the various things he knows how to do, he and Kenny discuss Walken's role as a grim father dealing with a man-child son in Todd Solondz's dark comedy 'Dark Horse'. Brandon enjoyed the film, having been a fan of Todd Solondz for years. Kenny hated it, but both agreed that it was a nice departure for Walken. Afterwards, Brandon reads from interviews with Walken and Todd Solondz talking about the movie. Then, Brandon and Kenny talk about a YouTube series they're working on poking fun at YouTubers who paint themselves as self-help/financial gurus, then close it out with looking at their next potential episode. which will either be 'Life's a Beach', a low budget comedy that was actually made in 2000 but sat on the shelf for over a decade, or the low budget horror movie 'Evil Calls: The Raven'.
After Brandon and Kenny reveal the actor to be featured for their next "101" podcast after they finish up with Christopher Walken, they discuss Walken's role as a subdued loan shark in the 'Goodfellas'-esque crime-drama 'Kill the Irishman'.
After Brandon poses a philosophical question to Kenny that he saw in a horror movie, they talk about the comedy 'The Maiden Heist', starring Christopher Walken as a museum security guard who schemes to steal his favorite art piece for himself. They agreed that the movie itself wasn't very good, but it was refreshing to see Walken as a normal guy. Afterwards, Brandon reads from an NPR article that Kenny sent him about the sordid history of the release of the movie, and how the impact of the 2008 financial crisis negatively affected its marketing campaign. They close the show out by reading incredulous five-star reviews of the film by suspected senior citizens on Amazon.
After Brandon and Kenny struggle through the intro and the Ronnies thanks to Brandon's son Noel making too much noise, they time-jump ten hours to when Noel is asleep to discuss Christopher Walken's role as an eccentric film director in the now-defunct Universal Studios attraction 'Disaster! A Major Motion Picture Ride... Starring You!' Other topics include the coronavirus, the time Kenny bungled one of his first jobs as a theatre projectionist, and Paul Walker. After Brandon obsesses over getting his son to sleep an appropriate amount of time, he puts him in a baby carrier and talks quieter into the microphone as he and Kenny discuss their somewhat enjoyable experience watching the 2007 musical comedy 'Hairspray', an adaptation of the Broadway musical which, in turn, is inspired by the original John Waters film. Topics include: John Travolta's inaccurate and confusing Baltimore accent, Christopher Walken's charm as Wilbur Turnblad, the main character's eccentric father, and they close the show out by looking back and citing the Walken films they've enjoyed the most.
After Brandon refers to a weird internet Paul McCartney YouTube parody, he throws shade at egg nog. Then, Chris and Brandon offer up what is likely the greatest gift either of them will give this season: the best media recommendation list they've ever compiled. You can almost hear "my favorite things" playing in the background. They talk about why 80's/90's Christmas commercials are a pure narcotic hit of consumerism. Brandon is genuinely worried about the bloggers trying to "win" at alcohol on cruises.Show notes:The Moon is Righthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rt0dflSPD5oYouTube Poop: All toasters toast toasthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OElHeZcXOoYuletide Bangerz (repeat recommendation but more timely)https://authorsrecording.bandcamp.com/album/yuletide-bangerzO Holy Night - Sufjan Stevenshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZlb-FL1cN0https://open.spotify.com/track/2vt1kHKfCmatsg32w3Wuko?si=PMcNxi2lT52QU-YuQ08ejwPitch Perfect 1 & 2 but not 3https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jI6jGlQhTU4Tron: Legacy Ducati Scenehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuCjHXLHGUkTop Gun 2 Tom Cruise omfghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nz9lnIDdkMoMission impossible: Fallouthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmsbvM3wfRgThe Professor of Rock : Kenny Logginshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jNNH_-saFUVox Earwormhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_IHotHxIl8&list=PLJ8cMiYb3G5fyqfIwGjH2fYC5fFLfdwW4&index=24&t=0sThe Knickhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9rKY8MLWTUDeadwoodhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFIojradr4YAl Swearengen Software Architect Twitterhttps://twitter.com/alswearengensaF1: Drive to Survivehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtJPe1ksS6ESpiderman PS4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4zm30yeHHEBattletechhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsIMfOo_VO0Steel battalionhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGgxRsaGdcAI’m worried about the authors of thishttps://www.roamingaroundtheworld.com/how-to-get-cheap-drinks-on-a-cruise-ship/FAIR WARNING, DO NOT CLICK OR YOU WILL BE SUCKED INTO A TIME VORTEXhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfdNykVOB9U

After Brandon and Kenny give a heartfelt goodbye to longtime Ronnie Greg Eckberg and discuss their methods of dealing with encounters with homeless people, they dive into describing Walken's role in the TNT three-hour two-part miniseries "Julius Caesar". Despite dreading the miniseries, it was actually well-made and somewhat educational, although Kenny found more value in reading a biography of Julius Caesar meant for children that he found on the Internet. Walken's character was Kato, a real historical figure and politician who is portrayed as a voice of reason in the Senate of Ancient Rome. Although it was a fun departure from the usual "eccentric bad guy" fare, there was not much to address besides his inability to shed his New York accent. Kenny and Brandon eventually divert down a rabbit hole of tangential discussions about Elizabeth Taylor's marriages, acting in plays, they struggle to remember the name of famed mobster Al Capone, and they again revisit the usefulness, if any, of their extensive knowledge about Christopher Walken.
Tim, Brandon, Marty, Jeff Krol and Guests Lauren Bobeck (LB) and Lauren Nedwick (LN) breakdown Game On! Sports newest endeavour, Run Club, A weekly head to head running competition for all levels of runners. After Brandon and Marty wrap up their defeat in Floor Hockey and Brandon nearly passing out from exhaustion having not done any physical activity since October, the boys breakdown the final week of Football and preview the upcoming Spring Leagues. Enjoy!
After Brandon's return from a week long vacation in Disneyworld, he and Kenny endure the third installment in "The Prophecy" franchise in which Christopher Walken returns as Gabriel, the angel of death. With not much to discuss, Brandon dives deep into some obsessive "Prophecy" fan-fiction written about Walken's character, as well as Walken's religious beliefs.
After Brandon reveals specific jingles he made for each patron on Patreon, Brandon and Kenny discuss Christopher Walken's performance in the Dreamworks animated film 'Antz.' They talk about putting together some kind of Christopher Walken performance spectrum: on one side would be a role like he had in 'Wild Side' in which he's completely let loose to do whatever he wants, and on the other side of the spectrum would be something like 'Antz' where he seemingly had very little wiggle room to explore. Afterwards, they compare 'Antz' to 'A Bug's Life' and get on a tangent about how good Pixar is.
In this week's episode of "The MindSide Podcast" Dr. Bhrett McCabe takes a look back at three of the best podcasts over the last few years. We decided to give you a "Best Of" because next week we're launching a whole new podcast called "Exploring the MindSide". We think you're going to like it. Picking the best three was tough, but this is what we narrowed it down to. First up is Jon Gordon. Jon is a best-selling author and motivational speaker. He loves sharing the value of positivity and the impact that it can have on your life. After Jon we have Brandon Sneed. Brandon is a writer for Bleacher Report as well as CNN. He's also a published author with his book ‘Head in the Game'. He gives some of his insights on our minds and the effects that our daily lives can have on the way we think. After Brandon we have the guys from Mindpump. Sal Di Stefano, Adam Schafer, and Justin Andrews have over 40 years of combined experience in different areas of the fitness world. Their goal is to showcase great people doing great things in the fitness industry. This podcast is edgy and it does have a little foul language. That makes it raw. We hope you enjoy it. Those are just some of the guests we've had on the MindSide podcast over the last few years. We hope you enjoyed listening to this “best of” edition. Don't forget, next week, the new revamped version of the Mindside podcast will debut. We think you're gonna like it. Thanks for listening. The show that not only can't get back the opening-credits cast members for very occasional cameos but can barely even remember the characters they played ever existed is, in its eighth season, reallyimposing on the viewer's patience by bringing back Dylan............'s sister Eric for the first time since Season 5. And she's gone through some changes! Like, she's changed into a completely different actor! Also she's a streetwalker now. (Did Noley "Original Erica" Thornton quit the biz? Did her parents refuse to let her play a sex worker? Did the show just fail to meet her quote? We don't know; if you do, please tell us.) After Brandon and Kelly have a chance encounter with her at her corner, they embark upon a mission to rescue her from the life, whether or not she's actually ready or willing to go along with their plans. David still can't work money: literally at the moment Donna's opening her bank statement and discovering that her boyfriend embezzled from her, said boyfriend is at dinner with a loan shark getting five more figures into scary, illegal debt. Still wounded about Val's having two-timed him, Noah yells at her, starts a bar fight, and drunkenly tells Brandon that, actually, he doesn't really need to work on boats for the money because he is loaded -- not rich, but wealthy. Will Brandon be able to keep this secret from Val the sudden gold-digger? Finally, just as Steve is figuring out his responsibilities as someone developing a paternal relationship with a kid, some broad from his past that we've never seen before shows up with some big news. Well, actually, at the moment it's still just small news. But it's growing into bigger news every day. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Brandon Novak calls in and lives up to the hype. Perhaps one of the most dopey guests, Brandon tells many depraved stories at the intersection of sex and drugs. One such story includes the time he came home in a black out and accidently tried to sleep with his mom. Beyond his junky tales, Brandon shares about his amazing climb out of the hole... transmitting recovery openly and honestly from a place of total humility. A must listen. After Brandon, we play a voice memo from Christina about a rehab (detox) romance that ended poorly - with her shooting meth while in a sober living, a restraining order, and jail time.
