In this episode, host Steph examines two deeply unsettling true-crime cases that reveal how pressure, secrecy, and fractured relationships can shape devastating outcomes. We begin with the disappearance of Harmahn Smith in 2005, a case that unraveled into a web of complex relationships, community pressures, and the vulnerabilities that young people often carry silently. From there, Steph turns to the world of pageantry and perfection, unpacking the story of Aria Armstead and her boyfriend Nathan Ortiz—a couple whose lives spiraled into darkness, ultimately leading to the murder of Matthew Collins. Through Matthew's tragic death, we see how competition, identity, and emotional instability can become combustible when amplified by outside expectations and internal turmoil.Together, these intertwined narratives raise critical questions about justice, the roots of violence, and the cultural forces that quietly influence young lives long before tragedy strikes.-----------------------------------------------------------------Congratulations to our giveaway winners!

Send us a textWe've had several WASP episodes about organ transplant recipients who have gone on to accomplish impressive feats, but here's one from the other side. Dan Armstead had plans to be a kidney donor from the time he learned in a high school class that you actually only need one to function perfectly normally. He eventually got tested and officially listed on the donor registry and then it barely took 48 hours before he got linked to someone who was in end stage renal disease who desperately needed a kidney, and it turned out it was his kidney that perfectly matched. But I'm not going to spoil it for you how that match took place because it's a remarkable, heartwarming story. What is important to tell you right now is how admirably selfless Dan's act was, and how he wants to spread the word about how easy it is to get tested to be a potential donor, and how little ongoing impact it has had physically on him. Most importantly, there are thousands on the kidney transplant waitlist who sometimes remain there for years – and sadly many don't make it at all. Dan, who runs a Synergy HomeCare provider, however, was able to save a life with his incredibly generous donation. I think this story will make your day a whole lot brighter, and who knows, maybe motivate some of you to someday save a life yourself.Dan ArmsteadFacebook Dan ArmsteadGabrielle's "G"'s foundationOnekidonekidney.comBill Stahlsilly_billy@msn.comFacebook Bill StahlInstagram and Threads @stahlor and @we_are_superman_podcastYouTube We Are Superman PodcastSubscribe to the We Are Superman Newsletter!https://mailchi.mp/dab62cfc01f8/newsletter-signupSubscribe to our Substack for my archive of articles of coaching tips developed from my more than three decades of experience, wild and funny stories from my long coaching career, the wit and wisdom of David, and highlights of some of the best WASP episodes from the past that I feel are worthwhile giving another listen.Search either We Are Superman Podcast or @billstahl8

In this episode of Everyday Black Men, the show kicks off with a surprisingly off-brand intro from Reed, catching everyone off guard. White Collar Suge questions the rise of YNs, joking that they might just be another one of Reed's chaotic personalities gone rogue. The crew dives into a heated conversation about Karl Malone's predatory past, and Riker points out the irony of Jay Z confronting his accuser but avoiding paternity court for the man who claims to be his son. Amid the chaos, Reed jokes about his time as a RadioShack manager, and when everyone else's phones go off with an Amber Alert, Riker says Reed didn't get one because even automated systems know he doesn't care. The episode rounds out with Armstead urging folks not to forget T.I., and the musicians in the group issue a cautionary message to up-and-coming creatives before signing off.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/everyday-black-men--2988631/support.

Terron Armstead announced his retirement on Saturday night. While most expected this to happen, losing a seven-time captain and five-time Pro Bowler leaves a void on the roster.
