POPULARITY
Independent developer Airtight Games partnered with Square Enix around a decade ago to prove that the hardest murder to solve is in fact your own. In many ways, that is a factual statement. In relation to this game, however... not so sure. We're going back to 2014 to look at a third-person adventure game about a ghost detective. We're talking Murdered: Soul Suspect. On this episode of Stealth Boom Boom, we take a look at Airtight's difficult beginning, middle and end, with some higlights including Dark Void and the Ouya. We also chat about how a considerable amount of this game's pre-launch marketing really positioned Murdered as a horror game, and Die Hard.In our review, you'll hear some chat on why this game even has stealth sections where you're bothering crows, hiding in spectral residue pockets, and sending demons back down to Hell via QTEs; escort missions where you must turn on specific printers and TVs; L.A. Noire; pixel-hunting at a crime scene and then selecting solutions until the game allows you to move on; Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective; the sheer possibilities of being a ghost vs a shoddy teleport or controlling a cat for a bit; ghost walls; reading the minds of Salem's residents; the newspaper that explains how the beach woman died so she can go to Heaven; a central mystery that does just about enough to keep the interest; a very normal Salem; a fancy hat, tattoos, and cigarette does not turn Ronan O'Connor into a protagonist for the ages; and Julia's Thoughts. After all that, we take you through what some of the critics were saying about the game around the time it came out, and then we give you our final verdicts on whether Murdered: Soul Suspect is a Pass, a Play, or an Espionage Explosion. For those who would like to play along at home, we'll be discussing, reviewing and dissecting CounterSpy on the next episode of Stealth Boom Boom.IMPORTANT LINKS TO THINGS

We're back after a massive hiatus (soz about us, thanks for sticking around), and this week we're talking about Airtight Games's #MurderedSoulSuspect. As per, it's spoiler central once again, but we have left some things for you all to find yourselves. Also, the ending hasn't been unearthed, so you'll have to work out who the Bell Killer is with our Ronan. No, not Keating, O'Connor's the name and slaying demons is his game. IMAGINE if it was Ronan Keating - BARE HILAR. Anyhoo - please let us know what you thought of the game over on @Vault_Unlocked on Twitter, or you can email us at thevaultgamingpodcast@gmail.com, to fill our dusty inbox.
This episode the boys take a look at the not-so-wrongfully forgotten Dark Void, a 2010 third person shooter from Airtight Games. Dark Void is the story of William Grey, a cargo pilot in 1938 who stumbles across a dangerous alien world while crossing the Bermuda Triangle. Helped out by his ex-girlfriend Ava and noted historical figure Nikola Tesla, Will dons a jetpack and ventures out to battle the sinister Watchers. If that sounds exciting, just keep in mind there's a reason no one talks about this game.

Jon and Chris review Ubisoft's new game, Valiant Hearts: The Great War. Plus, in light of Airtight Games demise, they discuss the disappearance of middle tier games developers and whether it's a good thing for the industry. Continue Reading →

For this episode, we decided to play and discuss the listener’s choice. Speaking of him, Brandon Peat, joins in on the conversation about Capcom’s 2010 release. Prior to the review we get to learn about Brandon’s background in gaming and have Josh give us his quick review of Shadow Complex. This marks the fifth entry that we had Nolan North as one of the voices in a video game (Batman: Arkham City, Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3, Shadow Complex). Again, we just love him. The guys think conceptually the game is great on paper! Who doesn’t love jet-packs? However, one reviewer had his first rage quit for the show! Fun times! Sit back and listen to the men of Co-Op Mode and their guest converse about this pulpy sci-fi adventure that had its “heart” in the right place, but never fully took “flight”.
This time on the Game Club we talk all about Quantum Conundrum from Airtight Games.
