Clare boss Brian Lohan is hailing his side's response to their defeat to Limerick as they recorded a vital win over Tipperary in the Munster Hurling Championship. The Banner brought the curtain down on Tipperary's reign as All Ireland Champions with a 1-25 to 0-17 win in FBD Semple Stadium. Late inclusion to the starting 15, Diarmuid Stritch, played a crucial role as he tallied six points from play over the course of the 70 minutes. Lohan says key men stood up when the pressure was on.

Clare hurling boss Brian Lohan says he's delighted with his side's National Hurling League Campaign as the squads focus now turns to the Munster Championship. The Banner fended off a strong second half fightback from Dublin to claim the Division 1B title alongside their promotion to the top tier. It means Clare head into their opening game of the Munster Championship against Waterford with seven wins from a possible seven in the league campaign Lohan says the squad is well prepared for championship due to how well they equipped themselves in the National League.

Clare hurling boss Brian Lohan he's pleased to have gotten back into the top tier of the National Hurling League as quick as possible. The Banner secured promotion back to Division 1A with a 1-28 to 0-18 win over Carlow in Netwatch Dr Cullen Park. The result also sees Clare into the Division 1B decider, with that game set to be played the first weekend of April. Lohan says his side have shown great professionalism in the campaign to date.

The Banner racked up an impressive 2-30 scoring tally en route to a 14 point win over Davy Fitzgerald's Antrim. The victory leaves Clare top of the Division 1b standings as they go in search of promotion back to the top tier. Lohan says his side were under pressure to come away with the win, but duly delivered.

Manny Jacinto knows just how special Freakier Friday (August 8) is. “This Freaky Friday story means a lot to so many people.” In the new film, Jacinto plays Eric, a single dad engaged to Lindsay Lohan's Anna. Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis both reprise their roles from the 2003 original about a mother-daughter switching identities. “I had the benefit of not having to come in with a character that was already established. I can kind of do my own thing, kind of bring a different flavor to the screen.” While Jacinto adds something new to the movie, he's more than aware of the power Curtis and Lohan bring to the project. “I obviously didn't know [Lohan] back in the day, but she was an icon for a lot of us, and she's still an icon.” And he compliments Curtis as, “still hungry.... She just brings it every single time. The chairman of Clare GAA claims Brian Lohan's decision to stay on as manager of the Clare senior hurlers represents a great vote of confidence in the potential for the coming years. At last night's meeting of the county board delegates, it was confirmed Lohan would remain at the helm, with the Wolfe Tones clubman committing to a further three years in charge. Meanwhile, the county's underage management will also remain together, with both Terence Fahy and Ger O'Connell to continue in charge of the Under 20 and minor teams respectively Clare GAA Chair, Kieran Keating, has been telling me that keeping all three management teams intact will allow the sides to hit the ground running when the new season rolls around.
