This week in our radio program we will introduce to you an awesome German band called Pornophonique. They define their style as BitPop! Do you know why? Because they don't only play the guitar, but also use a Gameboy or a Commodore 64 as musical instruments! Join us this sunday, it will be love at first heard!
Made with the sounds on the Commodore 64 - 6 (or maybe seven) Channels I need to remind myself sometimes that this isn't chiptunes and that I'm trying to be my own little corner of Bitpop. Unlike some of my recent covers, I've intentionally gone a bit heavier-handed with filter use and channels as I needed them so not to affect the qualities I wanted from it. Made with ♥ Gavin Ps. I have licensed permission for my cover music in case you are are wondering. 2020 Creative Commons Copyright All rights reserved
AJ and Joerg talk to musician Gavin Graham about the mixture of sid/retro vgm sounds and pop music called "Bitpop". He talks about his journey from being a former demoscener under the handle of "Gazza" over analyzing C64 sound drivers written by famous C64 composers into going towards Bitpopping.
Pokemon Go, NVIDIA 1060, VR updates, Apple betas, old-school MMOs from AOL, Anamanaguchi and Hatsune Miku.

The 10th One Man And His Mic show is NOW ONLINE and is devoted to 8-Bit movie tie-in games! It features lots of great themes from classic 80s movies performed on the Commodore 64, Spectrum 128 and Amstrad CPC computers. The show includes tracks by Martin Galway, David Whittaker, Jonathan Dunn, Matthew Cannon, Charles Deenen + more heroes from the world of 8-bit music. There's even a 'special' guest appearance from a VERY, erm, famous Atari 2600 game too. Ouch!
Tomb Svalborgs program! Om bland annat allt som nördar gillar, det vill säga Narnia, Star Trek, Bitpop och Svalbard.
The third OMAHM show is now online and is the most varied and multi-format show yet! This show is devoted to the music of the GENIUS that is Tim Follin. It features his music from the C64, Amiga, Atari ST, ZX Spectrum, Sony Playstation, PS2, Amstrad CPC, Sega Megadrive, Dreamcast, Nintendo NES and Super Nintendo! The show also features two superb remixes of Tim Follin tracks from Romeo Knight and Binster along with an EXCLUSIVE Intro theme done in the style of Follin music by Tonka. The show runs for just over 1 hour in total and is 100% Follintastic!
The second OMAHM show is now available for download at long last and is devoted to the music from the mighty Commodore Amiga! The show features 14 Amiga music tracks in total and contains a classic selection of tracks recorded directly from the Amiga A500 and A1200. In order to make the show more headphone-friendly each track has been carefully mixed to eliminate the nasty Amiga stereo sound split whilst still retaining the stereo element of each track. An Amiga 'Sound Enhancer' was also used to ensure each track is presented with optimum clarity. As an extra bonus the show contains remixed Amiga tracks courtesy of Jogeir Liljedahl (from his 'Wanderer' CD), Bjorn Lynne (from his 'Revive' CD) and Ron Klaren (from the 'Immortal 2' CD) ... The show runs for 61 minutes in total.
The Z-Show sidekick Kenz has returned with his very own show - One Man And His Mic features classic tunes from various retro computer systems. The first show is now available at long last and features one hour of great music by 8-bit music legend Martin Galway. As well as some of his famous C64 tunes the show also features music from the ZX Spectrum, BBC Micro and Nintendo Gameboy.
